SetQueryTimeout not use seconds

Question

The functions setQueryTimeout() and getQueryTimeout() not use seconds. This function are using milliseconds. This is not JDBC compliant. I use the thin client of the oracle JDBC driver. Is there a fix available?
Another bug is that a very short query timeout of 20 milliseconds the timeout exception throw in the statement.close() and not int call of statement.execute().

With which release do you tested it?
We are use the release: Oracle JDBC driver 8.0.5.2.0
What is the problem if the exception occurs after the time in milli seocnds.
Any help you could give us in resolving this matter would be greatly
appreciated.
