Setting a renderer for an element dynamically at runtime

Currently i am searching for a UI feature : Generating a HTML table by setting the renderer for each cell dynamically at runtime. E.g. depending on some state dependency(e.g. authorization issue) i want to render information in a cell in one case as a hyperlink or a in the other case as a informational text (instead of the hyperlink).
My question : is that feature in JSF Framework implemented or adaptable? Viewing some JSP/JSF code, the definition of the renderer seems to me to be determined at compile time, and there is no example how to do as described above.

I agree with keyurva proposal. This rendererType is dynamically set based on the state.
2nd is if all the cell are the same component type, you even can extends the component to override the getRendererType() method making to returne a different value based on the state.

Setting a renderer for an entire table by default

Is there a way to set another renderer for an entire table, a renderer that extends DefaultTableCellRenderer in particular. I mean I can think of a workaround where I basically go through each column of the JTable and set the default renderer for each column, but that seems like a hack. Shouldn't there be away to set it across the board?
I don't see a Jtable.setCellRenderer(), I see ways of setting the renderer by Object type, or by column, but what about across the board?

Set accessability options for form elements in DW12.2

I cannot find how to set the acccessabiility opdions for form elements in DW 12.2. Because of the changes in the cloud version, options available in DW 12.0 no longer appear in their former locations and I have not been able to find anything about this on the web. I am studying DW CS6 from a text based on Ver 12.0 and it is very frustrating!!!

Setting Inner HTML for spry elements

I am trying to set the inner HTML for an object that it says
has no properties. It seems to work in FF but not in IE.
Example:
Created an additional row that I put a '*' in column if it is
the clicked column representing the details section of the page.
(In other words, when clicking the sub region is based on the
clicked row. This row gets the left column of the clicked item
marked and the other rows cleared.)

Ah... found an alternative. There are two alternatives to the
interface for CSS styles.
rowHover and the one I just found, rowSelected. That is a
sufficient method of highlighting the currently selected row. I
just added a style to the CSS and it works great!

Loading XML file with missing elements dynamically through ODI

Hi Guys ,
I have the below xml file with two nodes Employee and Address. On a daily basis , sometimes the address element might not come in from the source xml file , but my interface has columns mapped to address elements, and hence it can fail due to the source element not being found in the file or data might not get loaded due to the 'and' condition in the sql query generated between the employee and address elements. Is there a way where i can load the data dynamically where i can search in the file only for the elements (Employee) present and load data only for those elements dynamically?

I was able to resolve it by using left outer joins and referring the table structure from the XSD

Tab Index for UI elements

Hiii Everyone,
               I have a view which is like an entry form and i want to set the focus for the elements in the series in which they are displayed on the view.
e.g Firstly I have sat the focus on Name then when i press tab from the keyboard it should set the focus to the Address input field.
Can anyone tell me how this can be done???

Hi ishita,
   On tab press the traversal happen as the order that you placed the controls in your view. And if you are using multiple Transparent Containers or any other containers in the view; that would give the same problem that you described before.
Try with only one container and most likely use Matrix layout for good arrangement of UI elements. This time it will work.

Lots of posts in this forum on how to set database connections. WPF should not be a consideration as it's just a viewer. The report engine is still the same. Search these forums. Use the search box at the top right corner of this page. Look at samples here:

Note that none of the samples above are using WPF, but like I said, the WPF is just a different viewer and will not impact how the report engine logs on to a database. (I think of it as a gray car vs. a red car. Same engine, just the color is different)

labelFunction is the best way to do this. The attached code also shows how to do it with an itemRenderer, though that would not be as efficient.

Where is the "set" method for this ELEMENT?

I'm trying to understand the relationship between the DTD and XJS, and the JAXB generated code.
Consider the example DTD, XJS, and generated source code (i.e., "value07.java") for ELEMENT value07, below ...
QUESTION#1: Why is there no "set" method generated for ELEMENT "value07a" within the generated value07.java ???
QUESTION#2: How to I code the DTD/XJS in order to force the generation of a "set" method in value07.java???.
-- I want to be able to set a new value for ELEMENT "value07a" in order to generate an XML document containing the new value!!
(NOTE: the reason that ELEMENT value07 (as well as other ELEMENTs) has only a single subelement, is in order to satisfy the XSLT definition in a preexisting application.)

How to use renderer for a Jtree Element

Hi all,
i have been told to use Renderer for drawing a JTree on a JPanel.
I mean, i want to draw each element of the JTree as a rectangle with a label inside it.....each element of my JTree contains an UserObject with a string inside it.
Any suggestions ?

The problem is in all of the examples that i saw till now this was made only with columns.
Is it possible to set different CellRenderer foor different cells in the same column?

if you implement your cellRenderer you return the Object you get for all columns but the one you want to be handled im a special way. As you know the row as well you can return sth different for each row.

Forms 10g : How to set the Database Item property for an item dynamically ?

Hello all,
I have a requirement where I need to set the database item property of an item to TRUE/FALSE
dynamically at runtime based on certain conditions.
Earlier, in forms 6i I've used,
Set_Item_Property (<item_name>, DATABASE_ITEM, PROPERTY_TRUE);
But in Forms 10g it doesn't recognize this Database_Item property and gives a compilation error.
Have I overlooked something or has this property become obsolete in Forms 10g ?
If obsoleted what is the replacement property ?

Some options:
1. Create a database-view, including the "real" column in databases where it exists and a "dummy"-column in databases where it doesn't exist.
If that's not possible,
2. set database="No" for your item and
-- create a POST-QUERY-trigger which reads the data for that column from the database, if the column exists, and

Type defined array of clusters for holding configuration data - setting default values for each array element

Hi,
I was wondering if I could get some information and opinions about using a type defined array of clusters to hold configuration data. I am creating a program to test multiple DUTs and wanted to have a type defined control for each DUT containing the information needed to create the DAQmx tasks for all of the signals for that DUT. I am wanting to do this so that the data is hard-coded and not in a file that the user could mess up.
The type def controls are then put in a subVI that chooses the appropriate one based on the DUT Type enumeration wired to a case structure.
I am having problems with the type defined control. I am seeing issues when attempting to save a unique configuration to each array element in the array of clusters. Somehow it worked to begin with, but now clicking "Data Operations --> Make Current value default" on individual elements of the cluster or the entire cluster (array element) is not saving the data when I re-open the type def control. What am I doing wrong? Am I trying to do something with arrays of clusters that I should not be doing?
I have attached one of the type defined controls for reference. I tried changing it to Strict to see if that helped, but no luck.
To reproduce, change the resource string for array element 0 and make the new value the default value. Then close the type def, and re-open it. The old value is still present in that element. The VI is saved in LabVIEW 2012.

Values of a typedef are not proprigated to instances of the control. THey will pick it up if created AFTER the data values have been changed. THey will not get updated with future changes. You should either create a VI specifically for hardcoding your values or implement a file based initialization. The file based would be much better and more flexible. If you don't want users to modify the data simply encrypt it. There is a noce blowfish library you can download.
