Setting AGGREGATIONMODE for a portlet

The portlet can be viewed in two modes:
Aggregation Mode:Single for maximized view (only portlet on the portal page)
Aggregation Mode:Multiple for Normal view ( multiple portlets on the portal page)
There is a API call 'GETAGGREGATIONMODE' on IPORTLETREQUEST object to get the current AGGREGATIONMODE ( ie., either single/mulitple).
I want to know how to set the AGGREGATIONMODE to my portlet. There is no API call available.
Please look at the 'http://portal.plumtree.com' and click on 'more' of 'Plumtree Web Seminar Archive' portlet, Shows the maximized view of the portlet. I want to achive the same functionality to my portlet also.
Let me know if anybody can offer any help/suggestions.

The view you see on portal.plumtree.com is actually intrisic to the portal; it is not a portlet in this case.
You can however achieve the same view in two different ways.
The most simple is to adjust the page layout to use a single column - you can then use a single portlet to take up the whole page except for the top & bottom banners (you can also set the portlet not to display it's title).
The other method is to use a portlet in Hosted-Display-Mode. To do this, initially create a standard portlet which appears aggregated. Then provide a link in your portlet to another page within you portlet webapp. Normally if you click this link you will go to that page through the portal gateway (make sure your page is within the gateway space you set up for your portlet web service) - and the portlet will take over the whole page, without the portal banner etc. However, if in your portlet code you use the EDK API to set the display mode on the IPortletResponse to DisplayMode.Hosted, you will be presented with a page as you'd like, with your portlet code taking the whole page except for the portal banner at the top (I'm afraid you won't get the bottom banner).

Set up for creating portlets!!

Hi I am working with a colleague of mine on building a Java 168 porlet. We also have a Oracle application server 10.1.4 installed on on of our servers, to which we shall finally deploy. I personally have really only 8 months experience of programming since uni and now need to build a portlet to integrate with our business logic, JSP, Web service. Having downloaded JDeveloper 10.01.02, OC4J 10.1.3 and the Portlet plugin for JDeveloper, when compiling the "hello world" portlet, Jdeveloper returns errors such as in vaid class between the local class and the remote class, some deserilizing error which I suspect is the java package it connects to, and gives the pont of error at admin.internal.deployer it seems the JDeveloper and the OCJ4 class files don't match????
Furthermore, having downloaded this software on the advice of my colleague are we even using the right downloads as I have read there is an instance incuded in the JDeveloper dowload.
When we do deploy to our OC4J, which seems sucessful, then we get a 403 forbidden. I must say that I am completely lost. If time was on my side then I would solve this the same way I did with Java Web Services. However, the IT manager is pacing the carpet!!! so please help someone, please!!!!!!

disc on their auction site, but only on disc not a download which is more convenient & faster
to get in a hurry.The software installed in the mac is working the way it should & showing up
as it would but it seems as though there is a driver that's needed. The results in any articals
that I have read suggest you don't need any drivers if you use HP EasyPhotoSoftware installed.

The PS designation on your printer denotes the PostScript printer language. Is your applications software and current printer driver configured to send PostScript (or HP-GL or HP-PCL or ???)
Does ANY application print anything (even gibberish) to the printer?

Does the printer time-out with every program, or just one? Have you tried another cable?
OS X 10.5 Leopard is no longer sold by Apple. It was never sold as a download, sold only on CD/DVD disc. Discs might still be available for purchase on eBay.
OS X 10.6 "Snow Leopard" is the oldest version of OS X still sold by Apple, and it too is available ONLY on CD/DVD for $20, but it will not run on your PowerMac, because Snow Leopard requires an Intel processor: os x snow leopard requirements

How is the printer connected to the computer? Are you using a USB interface, a Centronics 'Parallel' interface, or a JetDirect network interface?
It appears that the network timeout default for the printer was 30 minutes, but it can apparently be set in the range of anything 30-seconds and longer. The manual notes that some software does not send an 'end of job' postscript marker, so that is the reason for the time-out setting.

The portal layout is done in portalcontent.jsp and portlet.jsp. The
homepage for exampleportal is portal.jsp, which does a dynamic include of
the portalcontent.jsp page. The portalcontent.jsp page loops through an
array of Portlets and includes them with an HTML table that uses a dynamic
include for each portlet by doing a <jsp:include> with portlet.jsp. There
is another HTML table in portlet.jsp.
All of this is just HTML, so it should not be difficult to customize
it. You could use WLPS to create a "backgroundImage" property for each
user or group and then use the <um:getproperty> tag to get the value when
displaying the portal. Maybe you could set "backgroundImage" to
images/wallpaper.gif for your user's group and then you could use the
<um:getproperty> tag to get this value in your JSP page. Then you could do
something like this in your HTML table in a JSP page that extends JspBase
(or PortalJspBase):

Error in configuring Custom Error Pages for Faces Portlets

you can specify an errorUri attribute on the facesContent object for the error page.

WebLogic Workshop even allows setting this in the tool.
However, the errorUri never gets picked up and the following error shows up.
<BEA-423266> <No setter for property :: errorUri.>
Anyone faced this problem. Is there any other alternative to specify a custom error page for JSF portlets.
Please note that the errorUri works fine for the jspContent tag used for JSP Portlets.

You need to check if you have access to AXF_CONFIGS table. Check if you have ran GRANT_ACCESS.sql script which has below grant commands.
grant execute any type to apps;
grant create type to AXF;
grant select on AXF.AXF_CONFIGS to apps;
v_formId AXF_CONFIGS.FORMID%TYPE; means tableName.columnName%type;
so looks like when you are running AXF_EBS_SOLUTION_DATA.sql you are not able to access AXF_CONFIGS table.

I am having different workbooks and some of them are secured(Only some can see them). We have SSO enabled.
I want to publish list of worksheets in portal using List of worksheets portlet. When I use the public connection every user is able to see all the worksheets including the secured.
How to limit some of the user not having access to secured reports.
I searched every where but no information. I know there is way for this.
Please help me doing this.

Set language without language portlet

Hello,
I want to force the language to dutch for all of our users, but don't want them to choose this language on the language portlet or to change the language settings in their browsers.
Jerry Silver suggested in Setting language for a group the use of patch 2948019.
This patch installs wwctx_api.set_nls_language
In portal 9.0.4 WWCTX_API.SET_NLS_LANGUAGE is available, but it says:
Note:</b> This API can only be used for portal sessions that
* have been created via SQL*Plus. It is not intended to be used in browser
* sessions for setting the NLS language and territory.
* The Set Language portlet should be used in that case.
Does someone knows a way to force the language to be different from US-English?

Thanks for taking the time. Unfortunately no that does not solve it. Same as swipe it will get me there and it will show separate programs spaced out. The issue I am having is that all my open word files are bunched up in a pile on top of each other. I can see the edges of each one but I want them to be separated from each other enough that I can visually identify what file is what.

Setting timeout for all the web test scripts in the solution

I have around 16 web test scripts (using VSTS 2010 ultimate version) in my project (in a solution). By default the timeout set for each request is 60 sec. I need to increase the timeout to 180 sec. Currently, I am clicking on each request and modifying
the timeout parameter from the Properties window.
Is there any common setting for timeout available which would be acting across all the scripts?

We only can set Timeouts for a separate request in Visual Studio Web Test. There is no way to set Timeout for all requests in VS IDE. But you can write you own logic code using
Timeout Property in a web test plugin to set Timeout for all requests in a web test.

What is the best home set up for a family to share/use apple products

Hi, I am relatively new to apple (have an iPad) and having been a PC user for years I was pleasantly surprised with the apple experience and am now trying to work out the best set up for me, my husband and young son as I am buying them both of them apple products this Christmas. New Mac laptop/ ipad for hubby and then an ipod touch for my son oh and a new mac laptop for me. We are also thinking of moving from Blackberries to iPhones. Yes we seem to be hooked! but i am unsure about the home family set up and how to replace my PC network that I run off an 8TB server.
In reading the forums I keep seeing people talk about problems they have with two apple IDs and trying to merge them. I have also heard about a family ID allowing us to share apps legally. I am really nervous of setting us up wrong and then having problems later and hence i am now looking for some advice on how to share as much as we can legally but also make usage practical and not invading each others privacy. thoughts so far:
Music - I think we are happy to share the same music and access using one ID (we currently don't buy much music from apple but have lots of CDs we share).
Photos - It would be nice to share photos - as long as my son or husband cannot accidentally delete photos of mine (which is my biggest concern). I currently load all camera photos onto my 8TB storage box as the network owner and my husband has full access to copy any photo to his laptop but can never delete the original copies by accident.
Apps - If possible i would like us to share these but they are cheap enough these days to separate if really needed. Would be good to share licence for pages etc though
cloud, contacts, facetime, email - this is what is making me consider separate IDs or learning how to have multiple users in one apple ID - I do not want to have to share synced contacts with my husband. I have near 300 contacts now through work etc and he will not want them plus i will not want his or him being able to delete mine by mistake. and then for email and facetime, well I want to give him his privacy so I do not receive his messages etc. especially now that we are considering switching to iPhones
Then last but not least, i don't know the best solution for my son. he is only 7 years old so even though I don't want to pay for things again I don't want him being able to download "just any" app from the purchased icon in Appstore. Also, is there a child friendly setting to prevent him from viewing inappropriate content on the internet?

You don't need to use the same ID on a device for iCloud and iTunes.
iCloud covers mail, contacts, calendars, reminders, notes, bookmarks, photostream, document syncing etc and for these I recommend you each have your own ID's, this will stop others from having access to and likely more importantly being able to edit or even delete your personal information.
Someone of Age needs to be responsible for an account, so for younger children you will need to create and be responsible for an account yourself but let the child use it.
For iTunes you could use a single account so everyone can share music and apps or you could use separate accounts (there are ways to share content between users, Apple provides homesharing to do this).
When choosing how to proceed with iTunes, it might be worth remembering that someday your children will reach 21 (or whatever age they feel they have become independent) and will likely want their own account, changing accounts later may make it difficult to access previous content.
Photostream now has shared albums, so you can share just what you want with others. Shared photos using shared albums cannot be deleted by others with different accounts, but if you all shared the same account they could be.
Facetime and messages can also use an ID independently of each other, iCloud and iTunes. Separate ID's are recommended for these, joint accounts can be problematic.
iTunes has parental controls for youngsters, however at 7, I suggest you don't reveal the password to him and enter it yourself when he needs to purchase something, otherwise you may receive unexpected bills.

This is exactly what I want to do but don't think I can:
I noticed the following :
If you attempt to create an Apple ID which is the same as your @icloud email address from the online facility, it does not allow you (can't use an Apple associated email address as your Apple ID). However - if you start a fresh device - such as a new iPhone, iPad (must be mobile it seems), and then create an iCloud account and Apple ID from the prompts when setting up the mobile device, it IS possible to have your Apple ID and @iCloud email address as the same. I know because I just did it!
Unfortunately for me, the result I got above is not for one of my own ID's but a friends, and I would VERY much like to do the same - my current Apple ID is a completely different email address from my iCloud account. Trying to get them the same in my situation is a major bother - I think that if I wipe a device (such as an iPhone5 that is mine) and try to setup as I did my friend's device, then I will get a conflict because the iCloud email I have ALREADY exists. This is my worry and I will not attempt this until I get the new iPad 4 soon to test this.
There is an inconsistency here between the two methods of creating Apple ID's and iCloud accounts.
Overall in my opinion, the Apple ID system as currently available from Apple is not designed very well, and should be addressed.

it was working nicely until yesterday when i changed the resolution.
and now i cant take it to optimised for built in display, only if the lid is opened and i want it closed.
can i know how to return it to the setting (optimised for built in display) with the lid closed?

You can find the following parameters in Set Filter screen of Menus.
PARENT_MENU_NAME Name of the menu to start downloading at. If this
parameter is specified on its own, that menu and
all its children will be downloaded. If specified
with FUNCTION_NAME and/or SUB_MENU_NAME, then only
the menu entry with that function and/or submenu name
immediately under the PARENT_MENU_NAME will be
downloaded.
FUNCTION_NAME Function name to limit download to. If this parameter
is specified then PARENT_MENU_NAME must also be
specified in order to download menus. Specifies
the function on a menu entry immediately under
PARENT_MENU_NAME which will be downloaded; all other
menu entries under PARENT_MENU_NAME will not be
downloaded.
SUB_MENU_NAME Sub Menu name to limit download to. If this parameter
is specified then PARENT_MENU_NAME must also be
specified in order to download menus. Specifies
the Sub Menu on a menu entry immediately under
PARENT_MENU_NAME which will be downloaded (along with
all its children); all other menu entries under
PARENT_MENU_NAME will not be downloaded.
MENU_APP_SHORT_NAME Application short name of Menu. The menu on the resp
for this application will be downloaded. If you
pass this parameter, do not pass any of the other
parameters; this parameter is only supported on its
own.
