Setting Bindings for a EJB Query

How would we set the bindings container properly as shown below so we can run this query? Also, can we call another getOperationBindings to call another query if all the fields in the other table we are trying to query are the same?
BindingContainer bindings = getBindings();
//BindingContainer bindings = (String)inputText1.getValue();
//BindingContainer bindings =
System.out.println("Bindings Values: "+ (String)inputText1.getValue());
OperationBinding operationBinding =
bindings.getOperationBinding("querySponsorFindBySponsorName");
Object result = operationBinding.execute();
if (!operationBinding.getErrors().isEmpty()) {
return null;
return null;

Hi,
yes you can call multiple operation bindings within one action method. If the getBindings() is generated by JDeveloper and references a managed property in the faces-config.xml file then it passes in the bindings object, which is a reference to the pagedef instance at runtime.
The following line of code needs changes as shown in bold
OperationBinding operationBinding = (OperationBinding )
bindings.getOperationBinding("querySponsorFindBySponsorName");
I don't understand the following part of your question
"Also, can we call another getOperationBindings to call another query if all the fields in the other table we are trying to query are the same?"

  • EJB query language help!!

    Hi all, I have been trying to run a ejb query on JBoss 4.0.5, using built in hypersonic db, For some strange reasons am able to fetch all objects from db without any where clause but if am using a where clause with an attribute name from the entitybean am unable to retrieve any results.
    I get an org.hibernate.QueryException, could not resolve property : "property name"
    My ejb query looks like this...
    SELECT template FROM TemplateSelect template WHERE template.template_name='Template_One'
    TemplateSelect is my entity bean class and I do have an attribute named template_name in my bean class.
    could any one please suggest me what could be wrong and also direct me to a good tutorial on ejb query language as well as I am fairly new to hibernate and ejb3 !
    tons of thanks in advance!
    pravin

    Hi Anuradha ,
    I'm afraid the query language does not support retrieving the date portion (i.e. truncating the time) from a date field.
    I propose you turn you named into a BETWEEN query taking two parameters one for the beginning of the day and another for the end of the day. Then your named query could look like:
    SELECT max(o.req_id) FROM requests o WHERE o.requestdate BETWEEN :start AND :end
    The following code creates two calendar instances for the current day, one for 00:00:00 and another for 23:59:59:
    Calendar start = Calendar.getInstance();
    start.set(Calendar.HOUR_OF_DAY, 0);
    start.set(Calendar.MINUTE, 0);
    start.set(Calendar.SECOND, 0);
    start.set(Calendar.MILLISECOND, 0);
    Calendar end = Calendar.getInstance();
    end.set(Calendar.HOUR_OF_DAY, 23);
    end.set(Calendar.MINUTE, 59);
    end.set(Calendar.SECOND, 59);
    end.set(Calendar.MILLISECOND, 999);
    Here is some sample code that creates a query instance for a named query called findMaxRequestPerDay and passes the Date of the above Calendar instance as actual parameter values. It assumes the named query is called findMaxRequestPerDay and the req_id field is a long:
    Query query = em.createNamedQuery("findMaxRequestPerDay");
    query.setParameter("start", start.getTime());
    query.setParameter("end", end.getTime());
    Long max = (Long)query.getSingleResult();
    I hope this helps.

  • Looking for a best query for multiple IF Else statement in a single select

    Hi
    I want to run multiple IF Else statements in a single select SQL, each statement is one SQL operating on the same table, what is the best way to write this select SQL query ?
    If it is PL/SQL, when i get the result from the first IF statement I will skip the remaining execution, and so on... Can any one help me on this.

    I Apologize, the information i have given might not be enough.
    This is my scenario,
    I am selecting set of rows from the table for the employee id. After selecting those records,
    i need to go through the result list and check the condition 1, if it is met, i will return that employee record.
    If that condition 1 is not met, then i need to go through the condition 2. If that is met, i will return that record.
    Like wise, i have four conditions.
    I am trying to achieve this in a single sql. If i am not clear, please let me know.Not fully clear yet, but the picture is better already. The thing with SQL is that you should stop thinking procedurally. Instead think in data sets.
    For example if the task is:
    Find all managers that work in sales.
    Procedural thinking would work like this:
    pseudo code
    Loop over all employees that work in sales
       for each row
           check if it is a manager
               if manager
                  then return record
               else
                  do nothing
               end
    end loopThinking in datasets will result in a different logic
    pseudo code
    select all employees
    where department = SALES
    and job = MANAGERThis advantage here is that all the "Do nothing" loops are not needed. Those are already eliminated by the database.
    So what is needed to help you? Give the full picture. What is your task that you try to solve. From a business perspective.

  • How to Change Value set Dynamically for a Parameter in Apps?

    Hi All,
    I have a requirement where i need to change the value set dynamically for a given Parameter. This goes as, I have a Concurrent Program with 4 parameters. First Parameter is mandatory Business group.Second Parameter is Warehouse. Based up on the First parameter the second parameters LoV's are displayed, the third and fourth parameters value sets are dependent up on the Second parameter value. Parameter 2,3,4 Value sets are Table type. So i Used .$FLEX$.Value_setname to retrive the LOV's
    The Requirment now is that if the User doesn't enter the Parameter 2 than the Third Parameter field must be Open and he must be able to enter the Free text. In my case it is an Order Number. If the User enters the paramter 2 value than LOV's for ORder number pertaining to that Warehouse must get displayed. I've figured that this can be possible only if i change the Valuesets Dyanamically. I'm not sure if that is possible or not.
    I have tried :
    Using a Dummy Parameter with a new valueset(Transactable Independent) and giving Y and N based up on Warehouse parameter input.
    SELECT (DECODE ( :$FLEX$.WAREHOUSE_NAMES,NULL,'Y','N')) from dual;
    The default type was SQL.
    Then in the 3rd Parameter i have used Case function to differentiate Y or N. The third parameter being ORder number, is a table type and derived from Oe_order_headers_all.
    In the Query section i tried using dummy parameter value set to retreive the values. I was terribly Unsuccessful in doing so.
    Does the above Case exists or is Doable? Please, Help me out if somone had worked on Similar thing or have any idea of standard report/program using it in Oracle.
    Thanks alot for the Help!

    You will probably have better luck on the eBusinesSuite forum. This is more of a setup issue when defining your LOV and program parameters than it is a SQL or PL/SQL issue.

    Good luck - this is an aggravating issue to work with and I wish I did have the answer for you!

    This might be a naive question, but according to the documentation,WL 7.0
    does
    not support http post/get bindings for web services. Thus, for meto

    it
    would
    sure be nice to have HTML forms access web services without havingto

    NET does this and it is extremely useful - is there a reason that

    to provide this feature? (e.g. is it architecturally unsound in anyway?
    or is

    This isn't a straight FORM Post as in the http binding support in WSDL. It posts
    a soap message.
    It's apparent that Workshop supports form-post and form-get.
    But I dont see how it is done with straight WebLogic webservices. Does WebLogic
    server read the web-services.xml or the WSDL file? I dont see a way to put in
    http-post binding in the former and in the latter it seems to be ignored.
    Can someone clarify.

    Thank you

    Are you sure the ?1 and ?2 parameters exist in the method for which the query is addressed.
    In the statement adt.season.id I guess season is a CMR field and then season has a CMP field called id
    and the same for aq.aQTemplate.id, aQTemplate being the CMR field and the is being a CMP field in the CMR.
    and in adt.addresseeQualities is a CMR field?
    Looks like a complex query

    IN(adt.CMR_FIELD) AS aq
    WHERE
    adt.ANOTHER_CMR.ANOTHER_AMR_CMP_FIELD=?1

    You can get Row Source Statistics only *after* the SQL has been executed.  An Explain Plan midway cannot give you row source statistics.

    Hi,
    It looks like that you must be trying to set the result of the query to some variable from the Execute SQL Task. If yes, make sure that the target variable is of the correct data type where XML string  can fit into. Considering that in SSIS, we have
    some limit for XML strings.
    Please let me know if it doesn't help.

  • Can I modify the value of an enviroment entry for an EJB without having to re-deploy.

    However if I try the following:-
    InitialContext initialContext = new InitialContext();
    initialContext.rebind("myFlag", "false");
    I get an OperationNotSupportedException thrown.
    Do I need to use LDAP directly (rather than through JNDI) to modify this value or is there another / better way? If I do need to use LDAP directly what would the code look like ?

    Hi,
    As per J2EE specification:
    Naming environment entries allow customization of a component during deployment or assembly without the need to access or change the component?s source code. The container implements the naming environment, and provides it to the component instance through a JNDI naming context.
    The Deployer can modify values of environment entries that have been previously set by the Application Component Provider and/or Application Assembler.
    Generally only those variables/properties are set in environment entries which are likely to be different on various Application server configurations/installations, so it is not required/advisable to change these entries programmatically. Any way iAS-6.0/6.5 doesn't support changing environment entries programmatically, it binds all the JNDI names during Server startup after reading it from the registry.
    For your purpose you can use a boolean variable in your code to set your flag, and may be put it into session.
    Please feel free to ask further questions.

    Get values from a query
    If we utilize the third option that get values from a dataset query, then the all available values are from the returns of the dataset. So if we want to pass distinct values from a dataset, we need to make the dataset returns distinct values. The following
    sample is for your reference:
    Select distinct field_name  from table_name

  • Looking for an SQL query to retreive callvariables + ECC from a RUN SCRIPT RESULT (Translation to VRU)

    Hi Team,
    I am looking for an SQL query to check the data (ECC + CallVariable) received following a RUN SCRIPT RESULT when requesting an external VRU with a Translation Route to VRU with a "Run External Script".
    I believe the data are parsed between the Termination Call Detail + Termination Call Variable .
    If you already have such an SQL query I would very much appreciate to have it.
    Thank you and Regards
    Nick

    Omar,
    with all due respect, shortening a one day's interval might not be an option for a historical report ;-)
    I would recommend to take a look the following SQL query:
    DECLARE @dateFrom DATETIME, @dateTo DATETIME
    SET @dateFrom = '2014-01-24 00:00:00'
    SET @dateTo   = '2014-01-25 00:00:00'
    SELECT
    tcv.DateTime,
    tcd.RecoveryKey,
    tcd.RouterCallKeyDay,
    tcd.RouterCallKey,
    ecv.EnterpriseName AS [ECVEnterpriseName],
    tcv.ArrayIndex,
    tcv.ECCValue
    FROM Termination_Call_Variable tcv
    JOIN
    (SELECT RouterCallKeyDay,RouterCallKey,RecoveryKey FROM Termination_Call_Detail WHERE DateTime > @dateFrom AND DateTime < @dateTo) tcd
    ON tcv.TCDRecoveryKey = tcd.RecoveryKey
    LEFT OUTER JOIN Expanded_Call_Variable ecv ON tcv.ExpandedCallVariableID = ecv.ExpandedCallVariableID
    WHERE tcv.DateTime > @dateFrom AND tcv.DateTime < @dateTo
    With variables, you can parametrize your code (for instance, you could write SET @dateFrom = ? and let the calling application fill in the datetime value in for you).
    Plus joining two large tables with all rows like you did (TCD-TCV) is never a good option.
    Another aspect to consider: all ECC's are actually arrays (always), so it's not good to leave out the index value (tcv.ArrayIndex).

  • "System Resource Exceeded" for simple select query in Access 2013

    Using Access 2013 32-bit on a Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise. This computer has
    8 GB of RAM.
    I am getting:
    "System Resource Exceeded"  errors in two different databases
    for simple queries like:
    SELECT FROM .... GROUP BY ...
    UPDATE... SET ... WHERE ...
    I compacted the databases several times, no result. One database size is approx 1 GB, the other one is approx. 600 MB.
    I didn't have any problems in Office 2010
    so I had to revert to this version.
    Please advise.
    Regards,
    M.R.

    Hi Greg. I too am running Access on an RDP server. Checking Task Manager, I can see many copies of MSACCESS running in the process list, from all users on the server. We typically have 40-60 users on that server. I am only changing the Processor Affinity
    for MY copy, and only when I run into this problem. Restarting Access daily, I always get back to multi-processor mode soon thereafter.
    As this problem only seems to happen on very large Access table updates, and as there are only three of us performing those kind of updates, we have good control on who might want to change the affinity setting to solve this problem. However, I
    understand that in other environments this might not be a good solution. In my case, we have 16 processors on the server, so I always take #1, my co-worker here in the US always takes #2, etc. This works for us, and I am only describing it here in case it
    works for someone else.
    The big question in my mind is what multi-threading methods are employed by Microsoft for Access that would cause this problem for very large datasets. Processing time for an update query on, say, 2 million records is massively improved by going down
    to 1 processor. The problem is easily reproduced, and so far I have not seen it in Excel even when working with very large worksheets. Also have not seen it in MS SQL. It is just happening in Access.

  • Webi Vs Bex Analyzer for the same query

    Hi Experts ,
    I face an issue in Webi Vs Bex Analyzer for the same query :
    Output of Bex query:
    Transport System     Location ID     Quantity
    PIPEC1-Z4          LOCCP1-Z4     1,000.000 BBL
                              LOCCP2-Z4     400 TO
                              LOCGAL-Z4     *
                              LOCRAS-Z4     200 TO
                              Result     *
    Here as the Unit of measure is different, the RESULT displays a *
    Only in cases where the unit of measure is the same, the result
    is displayed correctly.
    However in webi, the sum function blindly adds up without any possibility
    to check whether the uom is the same.
    How can I check to add only when the units are the same ?
    Regards, Jerin.

    Hi Jerin,
    Each Key Figure used in a BW query can have up to three different sets of information:
    Numeric value of the Key Figure corresponding to the Key Figure without the unit.
    Unit or Currency information, A Dimension object with character format that contains the unit or currency. For example, 'USD', 'u20AC', 'km'
    Formatted value, representing the user-specific formatting. A Dimension object with character format that contains the Key Figure and the unit (formatted value) based on user preferences configured on the SAP server. For example, '200 USD', '345 u20AC', '25 km'
    Each Key Figure is represented with a Measure object in a Class u201CKey Figures.u201D In the case where the Key Figure is configured in BW with a unit, an additional Dimension object will be added representing the unit information. The u201CFormattedu201D value represents the numeric value Formatted as a string value, following the user-specific formatting settings.
    Or if doesn't appear the Unit, for some CKF or RKF it happens, you can add to your BEx query and then to the universe the unit or currency and create a separate dimension with that information.
    I hope this help you.
    Best regards,
      Fede
