Setting font based on input parameter

I would like to set the font of certain fields within my form based on the language. We have a table created that will store the language code and the font associated with the language. I am passing this value to the form, but I can't get my scripting correct to set the font to the value of the parameter. If I hard code the value, then the font changes as expected (this.font.typeface = "MS P Gothic"). Can someone please help me? Here is a sample of what I've tried:
FormCalc:
If (!$record.V_LANGU_FONT.rawValue.isNull) then
this.font.typeface = $record.V_LANGU_FONT.rawValue
endif
JavaScript:
if (!$record.V_LANGU_FONT.rawValue.isNull) {
this.font.typeface = $record.V_LANGU_FONT.rawValue;
Thanks!
Julie

Hi Sandy,
That was a wonderful article! Unfortunately, I'm still having a problem. When I do a print Preview PDF within SFP, I see the error "Argument mismatch in property or function argument". I have added a normal text field to my design page, set the text field to invisible and bound it to my input field of V_LANGU_FONT. I originally had the field defined as CHAR200 (based on the FPFONTREPL-DESTINATION field), but then changed it to STRING based on the article. I then added the scripting to one of the elements that needs to have the font dynamically changed. I've added a screen shot showing the scripting:
If I hardcode the font name:
The font for the element gets changed correctly. Can you please tell me what is wrong?
Thanks!

  • Task Flow Based On Input Parameter

    I am using JDev 11.1.1.6.
    I have an app that uses a Task Flow with "ExecuteWithParams" to get the parameter from a URL and display the appropriate records on a page.
    I do this by using a Bind Variable on the VO that corresponds to the InputParameter on the ExecuteWithParams control.
    What I would like to do is flow to a different page, depending on the parameter used in the URL.
    Example:
    If param in URL is "?TEAM=1" then I would go to the TEAM page and display records for TEAM 1.
    If param in URL is "?REGION=3" then I would go to the REGION page and display records for REGION 3.
    Thanks,
    Ray

    This could probably be solved using a router activity or a custom method as the default activity in the Task Flow. Then outcome of the router/method, can easily route to the desired TF activity based on an input parameter. E.g. if parameter is "region" route to executeRegionIteratorWithParams, which in turn will "flow" to displayRegions view activity.

  • Set max length for input parameter in SSRS

    I have an input parameter (@year)   to display a simple report. This input parameter taken Year from user (ex: 2015) manually. Here my problem is to restrict the user to max length of
    4. It should allow only (ex:2015) not (ex:20155) like that. Can any one please suggest me how to do this.

    Hi SaikumarN,
    According to your description, you want to restrict the length of values which user type in the parameter box.
    In Reporting Services, it’s not supported to limit the length of the typed value in the parameter box currently. For your requirement, you could provide Microsoft a feature request at
    https://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer, so that we can try to modify and expand the product features based on your needs.
    If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

  • Modifying the cell content based on input parameter from variable screen.

    I am already aware of how to change the cell content by creating a new ABAP class and inheriting CL_RSR_WWW_MODIFY_TABLE.

    in the start method
    define a work area like line of n_r_data_set->N_SX_VERSION_20A_1-TXT_SYMBOLS
    loop at n_r_data_set->N_SX_VERSION_20A_1-TXT_SYMBOLS into <wa> ..
    endloop .
    This will have all the filter, variable values entered in the selection.

  • Display the part of table tree based on input parameter

    Hi,
    I have the use case where I have to display the tree table based on the input parameter.This input parameter will display the displaying the node of tree which are under the given input node id.
    so If given node id is 10 then we should to display the node which are under 10.rest should not get displayed.
    Can you tell me how it can be achieved using ADF.
    I am using jdev 11.
    Thanks,
    Harsh

    This depends on how you apply the VC to the VO at runtime. Easiest way to accomplish this would be to create a VO in the data model of the application module which you edit in the data model to already having the vc applied to.
    In your region you can then drag the 'executeWithParameters' method onto the task flow and make it the default activity. Here you map the input parameter of hte task flow to the parameter needed for the executeWithParameter.
    For hte method you get a binding like
        <action IterBinding="EmployeesByNameIterator" id="ExecuteWithParams" RequiresUpdateModel="true" Action="executeWithParams">
          <NamedData NDName="bindLastName" NDValue="#{pageFlowScope.pname}" NDType="java.lang.String"/>
        </action>
    NDValue="#{pageFlowScope.pname}"
    is the inputParameter from the region (or task flow).

  • Passing the column name on Where condition based on input parameter

    Hi,
    I am using Oracle10g. Following are my table schema.
    Table Name : Codes
    Columns( ID, Level0, Level1,Level2)
    View Name : SampleView
    I have a scenario : A parameter will be passed to my view from C# application. I need to cut the last 4 places of the parameter and need to check 4 conditions as follows :
    1. IF last 4 places of parameter contains the value as "AMPD" then pass level0 column on where condition.
    Sample code : A123XPAMPD
    Expeted Result: Select * from Codes where Level0 ='A123XPAMPD'
    2. IF last 4 places of parameter contains the value as "Alpha numeric" then pass level1 column on where condition.
    Sample code : A123XPAA00
    Expeted Result: Select * from Codes where Level1 ='A123XPAA00'
    3. IF last 4 places of parameter contains the value as 0000 then pass level1 column on where condition.
    Sample code : A123XP0000
    Expeted Result: Select * from Codes where Level1 ='A123XP0000'
    4. IF last 4 places of parameter contains the value as (cannot be all 0's) and cannot contain "Alphabets" then pass level2 column on where condition.
    Sample code : A123XP1001
    Expeted Result: Select * from Codes where Level2 ='A123XP1001'
    Could any one please help me on writing this logic inside the view.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Trying to get the input parameter of a web service fxn based on table value

    Hello--
    I am new to ADF and Jdev 11g (I am a forms developer). I had created a web service from a pl/sql stored db package. I can successfully execute a function with an input parameter from ADF Faces.
    Instead of the input parameter being enterable by the user, I would like it to be based on a selected ADF table column value. How would I correlate the selected row column value as the function input parameter?
    I played with an ADF output text based on the ADF table column with the PartialTriggers value set to the ADF table...which updates the output text based on the column selected. Do I use some sort of partial trigger on the input parameter?
    From a forms point of view, I am looking for the "Copy Value from Item" property :)

    Hi,
    Not sure if this would help you.
    But if your table is bound to a ViewObject, it will be easier to get the current selection.
    Supose your table is bound to iterator1.
    In your backBean code:
    DCBindingContainer dcBindings = (DCBindingContainer)getBindings();
    DCIteratorBinding iterator =dcBindings.findIteratorBinding("iterator1");
    Row row = iterator.getCurrentRow();
    Object selectedValue = row.getAttarbute(<value of the column you are looking for>);
    public BindingContainer getBindings() throws Exception {
    try {
    if (this.bindings == null) {
    FacesContext fc = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    this.bindings =
    (BindingContainer)fc.getApplication().evaluateExpressionGet(fc,
    "#{bindings}",
    BindingContainer.class);
    return this.bindings;
    } catch (Exception ex) {
    displayMessage("Error occurred. Please contact your IT Adminstrator.");
    return this.bindings;
    Let me know if this helps.

  • Dynamically passing text and url-based images as an input parameter to cf8 report builder

    I'm unsuccessfully trying to dynamically pass text and url-based images to a group footer or the detail section via an input parameter or even hardcoded. The field has the attribute 'XHTML Text Formating' set to True. The following are failed samples of a simplified value:
    "<img height=’300’ alt=’Document’ width=’300’ src=’http://www.google.com/intl/en_ALL/images/logo.gif’ />"
    or
    "<img src=’http://www.google.com/intl/en_ALL/images/logo.gif’ />"
    This just results in the above text being output. The end result would have various text and images from a database as input by a user, thus the reason I cannot just use the hyperlink information attribute as I could if it were a single known image. I tried rtf and pdf report types. Ideas?

    HTH,
    Thanks. I'll keep that in mind, although I don't know how many images my user might need or what sizes so that might be tricky.
    Since my target output is rtf so that MS Word can be used to edit the result, I added a pagebreak to a MS Word doc and used the resulting html source to replace the rich text editor source code for the page break, but that did not help either. The page break was so a user could add an image later. Something is wrong with the Report Builder related to intepreting XHTML, especially anything that has an attribute, including URL-based image links. I hope they try to provide another update before CF9. I doubt my client will be going to CF9 for some time, since they are just completing the migration to CF8.

  • Crystal Report with text(csv) data file, can we set it as input parameter?

    Hi,
    I am a new user of Crystal Reports 2008.
    I have created a report with charts in it. The input data comes from a csv text file.
    Can I set the name of this text file as an input parameter?
    as I need to generate 44 similar reports with different text filenames(and data)?
    Thank you.
    Regards

    Brian,
    Thanks much.
    I did exactly what you said.
    Just to see any change, I first gave a bad report file name just to see if I am accidentally pointing to a different file,
    but I got an error saying report not found.
    Then I renamed my original datafile name and generated a report and it still generated one without giving an error.
    Then I also gave a junk name to the logoninfo and printed that name, the new name was assigned to logoninfo, but the code did not error out.
    It ended up generating the report.
    Now here is what I think is happening,
    1) The save data in report option seems to be still on even though I have turned it off in 2 locations
    a) file -> Report Options
    b) file -> Options -> Reporting tab.
    2) For some reason the logoninfo is getting ignored as well.
    Since I did not see any answers yesterday I posted a link to this thread on the .Net forum
    Crystal Report with text(csv) data file, can we set it as input param? C#
    and Ludek Uher says that I am connecting to the text file via a DAO database engine and so need to use the same code for changing the text file as for changing an Access database.
    But the link he gave me tells me to try the same thing that we have been trying..
    Here is my plan,
    1) I will first try and find out why my save data with report option is still on ( but it shows off in Crystal ).
    2) why is LogonInfo getting ignored.
    Meanwhile any suggestions from anyone are welcome.

  • Error while setting input parameter for dynamic process - GP

    Hi All,
    I am using CAF 7.1 GP.
    Here I have to start a process dynamically and it is working fine.
    But, when I tried to set value for input parameter of this process by
    IGPStructure params = GPStructureFactory.getStructure(process.getInputParameters());
    params.setAttributeValue("Val","MyValue");
    ( <b>Val</b> is the name of grouped input parameter ), it is giving
    com.sap.caf.eu.gp.exception.api.GPInvocationException: Structure with name input and namespace http://wwww.sap.com/nw/eup/gp does not have an attribute with name Val and namespace null.
    But no where I have mentioned http://wwww.sap.com/nw/eup/gp.
    I dont have any structures in my input and output.
    Here is my full code

                     String pName=wdContext.currentContextElement().getProcessName();
                     IGPProcessInstance prInstance = rtm.startProcess(process,pName,"This process has been started using the GP public API",tl_user,roles,params,tl_user);
           catch(Exception e)
                wdComponentAPI.getMessageManager().reportException(""+e);
    Can anyone help me on this.
    Thanks,
    Fahad Hamsa

    Hi Experts,
    I solved it myself.
    The problem was, I have to make the input parameter as exposed. Thats all
    Anyway, thanks for the support.

  • How can i dynamically select columns based on the input parameter?

    I have an input parameter which takes single numeric value.
    Based on this value i have to dynamically select table-columns .
    For eg: if i have following fields in my table :
    SEM_1
    SEM_2
    SEM_3 and SEM_4.
    And if i give numeric input as 2 , then i have to select "SEM_2" column only.
    if the input is 3 then i have to select "SEM_3" only and leave the rest of the columns.
    how do i achieve this dynamic feature in the "Select .....  From...... table...." statement in the ABAP??

    Hi,
    you should try something like this.
    TYPES: cond(72) TYPE c.
    data: condtab TYPE TABLE OF cond,
             condw type cond.
    data: lv_field(30) type c value 'SEM_'.
    write p_num to lv_field+4(1).
    condw = lv_field.
    append condw to condtab.
    SELECT (CONDTAB) FROM table INTO.....

  • Dynamic structure creating based on the input parameter

    Hi all,
                 How to create a dynamic structure based on the input parameter given in the selection screen. I have a file path given and it contains three fields in common, but after that depending upon the input given the fields get changed. For example, i have 0002 infotype given in the selection screen, my file path structure should contain pernr begda endda and PS0002 structure, if the infotype is changed the PS structure has to be changed dynamcially.
    Thank you,

  • WSDL for portlet based taskflow - doesn't show up input parameter

    Hi,
    I have created a taskflow which takes an input parameter in an ADF application. When I drag and drop on the page it works as expected.
    My requirement is to show this taskflow as part of webcenter portal app.
    I have created portlet entry based on this taskflow. When I deploy this ADF application, in the generated wsdl I am not finding the inputParameter which I have defined in taskflow. I am looking for how to pass parameter when I embed/consume this portlet in webcenter portal.
    I can see the parameter in generated [portlet.xml|http://adf-sample.googlecode.com/files/wsrp2.xml] file. And for the taskflow (in portlet section) the parameter is picked in public render parameters.
    Any hints would be appreciated.
    I am using Jdev 11.1.1.5

    Hi Daniel,
    Thanks for the update.
    Well, I haven't thought of this approach. I will try and let you know. Pls share if you have any reference for this.
    Appreciate if you can also share, when to go for taskflow based portlets vs consuming taskflows directly in portal app.
    Thanks,
    Srini.
