Setting initial UIPickerView selection without click on iPhone

Is there a way to set the initial selection of a UIPickerView without generating the selection click? For example, I have a UIPickerView with 3 rows, and I want the 2nd row to be selected when the app starts. Right now, I'm calling this during initialization:
picker selectRow:1 inComponent:0 animated:NO
but it generates the same sound that plays when a user selects a row. The only way I've found so far to silently set the default selection relies on the undocumented method setSoundsEnabled.

Hi Chris, and welcome to the Dev Forum!
I've never read about any other solution besides setSoundsEnabled except for persuading the user to turn key clicks off in the Settings panel. But you reminded me of an idea I meant to try (atm all I have is a 1st gen touch and no ear phone plug).
Try this if you haven't already: Create a UIPickerView in code, set only the dataSource, then select the rows you want. Then set the delegate and add the picker to a content view. If it still clicks prior to becomming visible, see if setting its hidden, alpha, or userInteractionEnabled properties has any effect. It doesn't make a lot of sense for an invisible picker to click, so I'm hoping some combination of circumstances will convince it that a click is inappropriate.
If there's nothing in that idea, I'm afraid I can't help.

Self.Open() method. I think it will work.

You can set the equalizer from the View menu, which will affect any songs played in iTunes.

I have a Mac Book Pro (purchased last year June 2010). If I leave the cursor on a clickable item/text (e.g., in a webpage) for a few seconds, it automatically "clicks" that item without me touching the trackpad. Is there a setting that needs to be adjusted or is this a problem?

My mum set up an iCloud account and forgot the password, and this caused me to create a new account. The new account works for the App Store and all that, but I can't change the initial iCloud account without the password. Help?

My mum set up an iCloud account for my iPhone 4 but forgot the password. This caused me to create a new account, and it can be used for the App Store and iTunes and all that, but I can't change the initial iCloud account (the one my mum made). My device keeps prompting me for the password every few minutes after updating to iOS 8, and I've tried every option possible to retrieve the password, but I don't even know the answers to the security questions and I can't find the password reset email anywhere and I don't know the back up emails my mum used. I literally cannot find any legitimate way to sign out of the initial iCloud account without entering a password (which neither I nor my parents know). Is there a way for me to retreive the password or change to my new account without the password?

You do the opposite of how you got them on your phone, you unsync the pics using iTunes.

Consider adding the delete symbol to the Finder window tool bar. This way you can highlight all the photos you want to delete at the same time then hit the "delete" symbol.
Open a Finder window/View/Customize Toolbar - follow the directions in the customized pop down window.

I'm trying to set up Passbook on my wife's Iphone 4. When I click it it tells me that it can't connect to iTunes, but click on itunes, up it comes. Using iOS 6.

Go to Settings>General> Time & Date. Turn automatic time and date off and set it 1 year ahead. Access passbook and then tap App Store. Should get about 7 apps that come up that are available to utilize passbook. Go back into time and date and set it back to automatic. Should be good to go from there.

You're most likely dealing with a dynamic XFA form created in LiveCycle Designer. You can open it, click the button, and save it, and it will most likely be 12 pages when next opened, but it depends on how the form is set up. The ability to make edits to an XFA form in Acrobat is very limited, especially for dynamic forms, so things like flattening aren't possible.
If it's not an XFA form, you'd still need to click the button at least once and save. To say for sure what's possible, I'd need to see the document. Can you post it somewhere?

I have an iPhone 5s with a data plan but I have iMessage turned off. Everyone I know with an iPhone has no problem sending me texts and they automatically go out as sms. If your friend doesn't want others to send messages via iMessage even when he has wi-fi access he can turn iMessage off in Settings > Messages. I have a simple question. I have a jTable in my screen and when editing a value, but without click "enter" or "tab" I want to get the new value. I have a button update and after editing the value I click the button "update" and I want the new value to be store in my table. If try to get the selected value it is giving the old value. How can I implement this? Any idea? I hope I was clear.
