Setting network in K9N6SGM

Hello world !!!
I bought a new PC with:
MSI K9N6SGM-V motherboard
AMD Athlon64 X2 3800+ Dual Core processor
1 GB Ram
Nvidia GeForce 6100 128MB, Shared
I run WinXP Sp2 installation CD, everything fine, after product key the installation skips the "network installation", so at the end the network card is not recognised and there is no way to tell the PC I have a netwrok card :-(
Any hints or tricks?
Was I so unlucky to buy the only card with wrong network?

I have still a PCI device that is unknown in the device manager. still try with the driver CD or wait and it will change??

can you see the wi-fi address in the about? if it show N/A, your iphone needs to be repaired.
if your ios is 5.1.1 or you can see the wi-fi address,you could try to connect your iphone to the itunes to restore and update.

How to set network driver promisc in kernel

Hello.
I got a problem. In my project, I need to set network driver promisc so that I can catch all the packets to it. I know how to do it in user application. But I need to do that in kernel space. Do someone know how to do that?

Set Network Connection

I'm running Windows 7 and Ovi Suite 3.1.1.90
Every time I connect I get another request to Set Network Location.
Any way I can get rid of this??

You can't set it manually, it requires access to the internet server in order to do so. It is currently having trouble connecting; make sure location is set correctly via settings, DNS should be set to automatic (settinga - general - network), ensure port 123 is open on your router. Router needs to be up to date, reboot ATV and router.

REG SETTING NETWORK TO MANUAL

I can not access my Internet connection through PC Suite. Accordingly I contacted my internet/mobile service support and they intimated that my NOKIA N73 set should be set Network setting as Manually. But while I selecting Setting and then to try to set from Automatically to Manual mode it is not accepting and while restarting it will come as Auto mode again. So please help me set my Network setting as Manual.

I had this issue in trying to enable disk mode on my iPod. I had to click the enable disk mode and the apply button before my iPod finished updating in iTunes, because iTunes would automatically eject it after the update....
Depending on the reason why you are trying to go to automatic I could see how this could be a problem.

Set network location tethering

Since I have upgraded to iOS 5, now everytime I tether my iPhone I get the 'set network location' dialog on my win7 laptop. With the new iOS win7 does not appear to 'remember' my iphone as a network location.
I am quite certain this is new with iOS 5 since I am a frequent tethering user and I have seen this same issue on a couple forums as I search around.
Anyone have a solution? Is this a know issue with iOS 5 that we might see fixed in update soon?

I have found out a fair amount of information about why this is happening. I also have just posted a sort-of workaround for this. The workaround does resolve the problem, but introduces a very unpleasant side effect that's worse (in my opinion) that the original problem, so it isn't a good solution.
If you are following this thread, you might wish to go over to the other thread though (above) to read what I learned about this and decide for yourself if you want to try the workaround.

Always have to "Set Network Location" after connec...

I've got a Nokia 6650 phone and use Nokia Ovi Suite 2.2.1.23 to connect to the internet on my laptop running Vista. In Ovi Suite, after I connect another dialog always pops up saying, "Set Network Location" and I'm supposed to choose "Home", "Public", or something else.
Is there anyway to stop that "Set Network Location" dialog from popping up? Like, can I just set a default so it uses the same "Network Location" every time or something?
That dialog is just annoying.
As a 2nd, different thing, it seems like Vista "counts" how many times I've used a certain connection, and uses the count number in the name. Like when I connect via my Nokia phone, the name of the connection will be something like, "Nokia Connection 25". Where 25 is the count number. Something similar happens with my wireless network at home. The wireless network SSID at home is "Levander". And, all my other computers (none of which are running Vista - there's some XP, Windows 7, and Linux stuff) just say they're connected to "Levander". But, this Vista laptop right now says it's connected to "Levander 2". It's possible that's just annoying because I don't know what that count number is there for. Anybody know what it is? Know how to get rid of it?

You should select Public as you have a direct connection to the internet - as offered, and check the box not to be asked again - I have the same set-up and it worked for me, after wrongly selecting home a number of times. My iPhone 5 has lost network coverage. Wifi is still ok just can't receive calls or text messages (iMessages are ok though? ). I've re set network settings but that hasn't helped.

Hi all, i have a question about set network address restriction.. if i post in wrong category i'm very sorry about it because i don't know where i supposed to post this..
i need to set network address restriction to every user in my tree..
the problem is there is hundreds of user that i need to set the restriction.. i think it will take a lot of time if i do it one by one..
i created the user with script, and i want to ask whether there is a command to set network address restriction with script or maybe there is another simple way to set network address restriction..

Is the restriction going to be the same for all users? Depending on what
"script" you use, you should be able to also set the restriction at the
same time - its just another attribute value to set.

Need to permanently set network link modes (duplex and speed)

Hello everyone,
I have an Intel on-board network card which does not play well with my FritzBox. According to Intel this is a known issue in how the card negotiates its link mode. Intel provided a tool to set the link mode under windows (because the standard windows settings did not persist). Now I successfully figured out how to set duplex and speed to the appropriate values but i have to do this every time on boot with
$ ethtool -s eno1 speed 100 duplex full
My question now is twofold:
1. Is there any other way to persistently set those values? I know about mii-tool but this reports my card is not supported and I don't know if it would persist a reboot.
2. If i need to run ethtool on every boot: What would be the preferred (best-practice) way to do it? I'm still really new to arch and Linux but cursory reading indicates to write a systemd service.

We are about to enable SSO in our environment. As a result, I need to modify the value for user_pref("network.automatic-ntlm-auth.trusted-uris", "my domain");>>prefs.js.
I created a simple .bat file to make the necessary mod and add the line to pref.js. When I run the file it outputs the prefs.js to the same location, not the Mozilla AppData folder. We are a Win7 environment with folder redirection enabled. Therefore, our user's Mozilla AppData folder is located at \\my domain\dfs\XenDesktop\Profiles\username\AppData\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\default (random default profile name). My question is what is the best course of action to add this pref. to all PC user's pref.js file? keep in mind the pref.js is located on the hidden network path I included above. I apologize if my question is not easy to understand.

Yesterday, prior to my post, I did try the mozilla.cfg method. I read your reply to another FF user's, similar question. Here are my complete steps.
1. created a txt file with the following info: defaultPref("network.automatic-ntlm-auth.trusted-uris", "ngs.org"); // set new default value
2. saved the file as mozilla.cfg
3. dropped the file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
4. Created local-settings.js with the following info:
pref("general.config.filename", "mozilla.cfg");
pref("general.config.obscure_value", 0); // use this to disable the byte-shift
5. dropped the file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\defaults\pref
When I launch Firefox the network.automatic-ntlm-auth.trusted-uris should say ngs.org, but the value is still blank.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
