these are the steps
1.add a xml query action block and in the links map the input to the param.1 and param.2 etc...
2.now from the out going link of the query action block map it to the incoming of the generic sort filter
3.in that give the conditions for filtring

Hi all,
A quick question regarding using a parameter to set the source URL in an XML query template.
When assigning the URL, the static text works perfectly eg:
//<servername>/<folder>/samplefile.xml . The xml is returned as required.
However, we wish to call this from a BLS txn and set the source URL dynamically.
To test this we assigned //<servername>/<folder>/samplefile.xml to Parameter no 1 and insert [Param.1] in the source URL field. No luck.
Any suggestions?

In BLS, the double slashes (escaping the single /) are only necessary if you are building the full http url string in the link editor.
If your XMLQuery template is something like http://localhost/Folder/Subfolder/[Param.1] then put in a default param value in the query template and make sure the query test works. Then configure (or reconfigure) this in your BLS transaction and generate the sample results. All you should have to do in BLS then is to assign your Transaction or Local property to the Param.1 link in your XMLQuery action block. All of the dynamic replacement and subsequent xml file retrieval should then be done by the XMLQuery itself.
If you can keep the majority of the URL in the XMLQuery itself and then just dynamically pass it the Param.1 piece it will be very easy to test and configure (also use localhost if the file lives on the xMII web server), but if you have to build the string external in BLS I would recommend using a combination of the expression editor and a Local property. If the Local string property contains the base of http://localhost/Folder/Subfolder/ (no quotes or character escaping needed for the default value of a string property) then just assign something like the following to your Param.1 property of the XMLQuery: Local.URLBase & "filename.xml" (a simple evaluate will confirm your efforts).

Xcelsius with XMLA or XML Query Result Set

Hi Experts,
I want a direct connection from Xcelsius to my BW-Data. Because the new connection, coming with Fix Pack 2.1 is only avaiable for EHP 1 for NW 7.0 I tried to configure with XMLA and XML Query Result Set.
This Document tells the necessary steps: How to integrate Xcelsius 2008 with SAP NetWeaver BI without Integration Kit.pdf.
When I test my XML connection over http://<host>:<port>/TXmla/srvlet/TestXmla my Cubes will display.
So I do a Webservice-Connection with WSDL-URL. At Input-Values there are some entries like CUBE_NAME, CATALOG_NAME...
Output values arent avalible. How do I use these elements to show my Data in Xcelsius?
My Problem with the XML Query Result Set Connection is, that when I Log On to VC the following error appears:
You are not authorized to view the requested resource.
So I get the authorisationobjects: S_DEVELOP and S_RS_COMP as describe in 'How To... Resolve Visual Composer Issues'.
What values have I to enter by S_RS_COMP? And how can I enter my External Service in S_SERVICE. At the type WS the service isnt't avaiable.

To use XMLA web service you need a wrapper function build to convert the XMLA output to the Xcelsius format. There are some documents available in SDN on how to do this.
You can use Live Office or Query as a Web service option to connect from Xcelsius to BW.
S_RS_COMP is the query ID which you are trying to access, S_SERVICE you can either give * or try to set up authorization log and see the expected value.

Error in testing XML query result set web service

I was trying to test a XML query result set web service in BW system with tcode wsadmin but getting error like
Cannot download WSDL from http://ibmbtsb02.megacenter.de.ibm.com:8070/sap/bw/xml/soap/queyview?sap-client=001&wsdl=1.1&mode=sap_wsdl: F:\usr\sap\W70\DVEBMGS70\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\com.sap.engine.services.webservices.tool\servlet_jsp\wsnavigator\root\WEB-INF\temp\ws1139464945296\wsdls\wsdlroot.wsdl (The system cannot find the path specified)
I had tried it first time few days ago and was able to test it successfully with the same configuration settings.
Could any one of you please provide any suggestion on this?

How to set parameter in rtf template

Hi,
I've created a data model query using a parameter in BI Publisher Enterprise. When I'm showing the data I'm first ask for the parameter value.
Now I want to create a rtf template in BI Publisher Desktop. What do I have to do that the user can set the parameter and then see the result? So how to set the parameter in my query?

CrystalReportViewer - Setting parameter throws ancestor error on page navigation

We are having web application reports in the application using BO-XI SDK Viewer API. This API approach was working fine earlier. We upgrade our reporting component to SAP BO-4 (Crystal Server 2011) due to EOL of BOXI.
We have updated new API’s provided by SAP as per guide.
We updated web based Crystal Report Viewer (DHTML Viewer). The crystalreportviewer folder coming with SAP CS 2011.
We applied updated patch set upto last patch released CS2011 SP4 Patch4.
We still facing issue while viewing report in DHTML viewer provided by SAP. Please advice on below.
In our web application we do have updated folder for /crystalreportviewer.

Am I right in guessing that you were previously using the ActiveX viewer?
Currently your code is closing the document and logging off Enterprise. Pretty much any action that is done in the DHTML viewer will cause a postback to the server which will no longer have the document or session available with your current code which will cause all sorts of problems. You need to persist these objects, and only clean them up once you are completely finished with them.

OBIEE Answers does not display the result set of a report query

Hi,
We have a pivot table type of report in Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition v.10.1.3.3.2 Answers that has the following characteristics:
 3 Pages
 3 Sections , 4 Columns
 18363 Rows in the result set
As per the NQQuery.log, the query for this report executes successfully resulting in 18363 rows. However, nothing comes up in the display on Answers. Moreover, no error is reported. The instanceconfig.xml file has the following setting:

Even with these settings, Answers just returns a blank page - nothing is displayed in the name of the result set of the report query. Has anyone encountered this problem scenario before?

Thanks for your inputs. A few points to note:
-> I am actually not getting any error message in answers or the NQQuery log. Moreover I am not getting any errors related to "query governor limit exceeding in cube generation" also.
-> I have other pivot table type of reports in the same repository that work fine. In fact the report which has this issue even works sometimes - what actually is happening is that if I alter the number of sections from 3 to 4, then the result set changes from 14755 Rows to 18363 Rows and as per the NQQuery.log in both cases the query completes successfully. However, when the result set has 14755 rows, I get to see the output in Answers; however when the result set is 18636 rows, the Answers screen just goes blank and does not show any output or error. This makes me believe that there is some parameter in instanceconfig or the NQSconfig file - I have tried a lot of changes but nothing works !
Any help is much appreciated.

Set operations in AdHoc Query - user settings

I am checking out the Set operations in AdHoc Query. The documentation says you should save the setting "Set operations shown" as a user setting. Could anyone advise me where this is set? I can't find a parameter for it, and can't find it in the regular settings.

The save is automatic upon exiting Ad Hoc query. Once you do "Show Set Operations", work on a query, save and exit, the next time you open Ad Hoc query, Set Operations tab is displayed by default.

Crystal Report - Set Parameter Value - Case sensitive

We are using Crystal report 2008 CR4E API to implement the crystal report in our application. When we use parameter report with different cases, the code is not setting values for all the parameter fields in the report. Kindly help us in achieving the solution.
 
In Report, SQL Command is used and a parameter is passed to the SQL. The name of the parameter is given uppercase but in the SQL Command it is given in lowercase. The report still pass the parameter to the query and it is running fine in designer.
But in our application it throws the below exception. If the parameters are defined in same case then it works fine.

Hello,
Can someone tell me how to set up a date parameter in XML Publisher Enterprise? I cannot seem to get the right format for a date parameter, so my report will run. This report requires a date to be entered before the report can run. I am trying to use the format 'YYYY-MM-DD'.

Hi Susan,
I also had some problems but found out the spelling is the key, so letters for day and years has to be small letter, letter for month has to be capital - a sample date format looks like
dd-MM-yyyy ( check the possible formats of fields in RTF-Templates! )
But anyway using date parameters seems a little instable in 5.6.2 - I have to save the parameter all the time even if I didn't change anything otherwise there was runtime errors

Setting parameter in Detail View Object

I want to setting parameter in detail view.I have two table.One is master another is detail.I use parameter in master table so I put my page parameter form and I execute it.It work fine.I want to use parameter in detail table.In detail table if I dont use parameter master is execute it automaticly and it shows the result but when I put the parameter in detail it isn't show any result it say no rows return.Please help about to use detail views parameters(bind variables)

Can I suggest you change your code to the following:
RowSetIterator[] iter= getMasterRowSetIterators();
if (iter != null && iter[0].first() != null) {
Row row = rsi[0].getCurrentRow();
.....(etc)....And run it in the debugger. See if it actually gets to the Row line. If not getMasterRowSetIterators() isn't returning any iterators and you should check how you've exposed your VOs in your AM - specifically looking to see if your detail VO is actually a detail VO to a parent VO.
Also I'm not sure overriding executeQuery() is the best place to be doing this as the doco says it is not always called. The doco seems to indicate executeQueryForCollection() is the preferred method. However in my testing it appears you can't set the query parameters in this method.

To use the call transaction with the skip first screen option we have to use the set parameter statement. Depending on the PID which the technical specs of the fields contain, it is possible to preset these values. My query is that if the screen contains checkboxes and a lot of them, how do i select them?

JKL rate2b I'm trying to keep the "meas" column as the top node attribute, with the "data_elements" as attributes of the children of "meas"
In short, I'm looking for the following output, but, well..keep coming up short.
