Setting personal tab layout to User Role default

Hi All,
Does anyone know of a way that a user can return their personal tab layout to the User Role default layou if they have made changes? I know how to do this with individual page layouts, but can't seem to find a way to do it for tabs.

How can I set app tabs to open to the default page on startup?

If I use an App Tab and click on a link from that tab, then exit and open Firefox, it opens up the website I was on when I closed Firefox the last time as the App Tab. For example, If I have Google as an app tab, make a search, click on a new website, and exit Firefox, the same website from before will load in my App tab instead of Google. When I open Firefox, I want my app tabs to open to their default pages, not the pages I was surfing from those tabs when I closed Firefox.

App Tabs are not protected against changing the URL by opening a link in that same tab and Firefox doesn't keep a record of the original URL.<br />
You can middle click a link to open the link in a new tab if you do not want the tab changing the URL.
You can lock the tab with the Tab Mix Plus extension.

Field Defaults by Layout (or User Role) ?

My company has finally moved to the R14 platform and I am in the process of setting up default values for some fields. I've noticed that a default value cna be set at the object level, but I'm wondering if a field default can differ by role or layout? And if so, how?

Open tab or window in user's default browser

hi,
can I navigate to a url and open a new window or tab in the user's default browser?
In flex panels - if you'd
navigateToURL(new URLRequest("url.com"));
the page would open up in the user's default browser.
How to do this in an html panel?
When I try
window.open("url.com '_blank');
a custom window opens and I'm not even sure where it comes from,
my default browser or the extension's embedded browser.

Tab Layout

Hi,
Is there a way where the Application Administrator can set a Tab Layout administratively within some admin screen for all users instead of each user going to My Setup and changing the layout in Personal Layout? We do not want to show the Opportunities, Leads Tabs to all our users as we are using OnDemand as a Service apps.

No, not exactly....
If you move a new tab to "Available Tabs" within the User Role, the user will be able to see it to add to their personal tab layout. If you move the new tab to "Selected Tabs", the tab will appear as the last tab in the user's personal tab layout, regardless of where you positioned it in the tab order.
If the user doesn't modify their tab layout again and you remove access to the new tab within the User Role, it will be removed from the user's personal tab layout. If the user has modified their tab layout since the new tab was added, removing it from the User Role will not remove it from the user's personal tab layout.
I would recommend you test this functionality for yourself to gain a better understanding within your own environment.

VIRSA tables for users, roles and profiles sync?

I am in a customer, implementing CC 5.2. At the first time, we tried CC 5.2 in DEV environment, and when everything was OK, we redirect RFC connectors to QA environment.
After doing user, roles and profiles sync in DEV and in QA environment too, I have 4.500 user (1.100 from DEV + 3.400 from QA) when I recover all users "*" with "user level - risk analysis" from the "Informer" tab.
It seems that "users, roles, profiles, sync" works like and "APPEND", but I did a COMPLETE syncronization not an INCREMENTAL.
If I start an analysis for QA environment, CC works properly and only analyse QA users (3.400). But I would like to clean CC tables (users, roles and profiles) in order to have a clean copy of QA in CC.
Which VIRSA tables (users, roles and profiles) I need to clean?
It is necessary to do the same with authorization and text objects? Which would be these tables?

Hi all,
SAP GRC Support provides a script which allows you to remove a connector since it does delete all data link to it. Anyway, I would recommend a deep analysis of it and find out if it does what you really want to do.
Víctor, if what you want to do it is just to remove all user, role and profile master data (stored in tables VIRSA_CC_SYSUSR and VIRSA_CC_GENOBJ) you could upload a text file using data extractor functionality with the delete field set to X. Doing so user, role and profile master data will be removed from CC database.
In order to use data extraction functionlaity you connector must be of type "File Local".
Be careful about removing data directly from DB since, as Prem states, you might loose the DB consistency.

How to find out by MDX that the current users is member of a role - Default member issue

just imagine you have a dimension with a few members (A, B, C...). I defined a role which gives some users only rights to "B". On the other hand the default member for the dimension is set to "A". Now users part of the role get an error
that the member "A" is not found. So while

specific one.
So the solution might be that I explicitly define the default member in all roles. This might be possible but there is one issue: you can't define a role specific default member for users part of the adminstrator role. So all admins don't have a default
member which is quite some restriction for some users...
So the question is how to solve that problem. An idea would be that I use some MDX to determine the default member in the dimension based on the actual user's role membership. But how to do that? Or any better idea?

According to your description, you want to have a role-specific default member for different roles. Right?
In Analysis Services, when granting access to dimension, a connection will fail if a role restricts access to a default measure. As you mentioned, the best solution is specify a default member for each role. But for administrator role(full control),
it can't set the default member. All tabs except General and Membership are disabled. And the system can determines the default member of current user automatically. It's not supported to get the default member in MDX either.
However, SSAS has additive design for role security. So in this scenario, we just need to create another role for those members of administrator role and specify a default member for this role. SSAS will take that role-specific default member
for these users. And it will not effect the administration permission for them.

User specific default setting

I have one ALV z-report.
I have created two layout which is user specific.
At the time of selection of layout system is allowing me only default setting and the field of user specific is showing gray.
What will be the problem?
Can anybody help me for this?
I want to assign that layout to my specific user.
But in the std report e.g. MB51 system is allowing me to assign layout at user specific.

How to set custom keyboard layout as default?

I've downloaded a german keyboard layout for normal PC keyboards from this page: http://www.nullpointer.de/stuff/keylayout/index.de.
Everything works fine. The layout is showing up in "Input Sources".
But for some reason I cannot uncheck the default "Apple German Keyboard Layout" as you can see in this screenshot:
The TickBox next to it is disabled...
This leads to the problem that in some applications that layout is being used (switched to) automatically instead of keeping the new one...
How do I set a custom keyboard layout as default and/or deactivate built-in one?

This has come up before, and I think it is not possible. The OS always keeps one of its own Latin keyboards active, and unfortunately I have not seen any way that these (located in system/library/keyboard layouts/applekeyboardlayouts.bundle) can be modified by the user.
PS Another possible source for "PC" layouts for people using that kind of hardware instead of Apple keyboards is the set of Logitech layouts provided when you download Ukelele.

Set personal thumbnails in the 3x3 grid/ new tab view?

is it possible to set personal thumbnails in the 3x3 grid/ new tab view? E.g. I doN't want the current facebook page to be shown as a thumbnail but a big blue facebook-logo.
Does anyone know about an Add on that's able to do that?

Show or hide ADF custom tab based on user's role

Hi everyone,
I have created a custom tab on the self-service interface (OIM 11.1.1.5) which contains two sub-tabs. I would like to show or hide one of the sub-tabs based on the role of the currently logged in user. Does anyone know of way to achieve this?

Figured it out. Here's how to do it:
Scenario:
You are working in OIM 11.1.1.x. You create a custom tab on the self-service page. This tab should only be visible to users with a certain role, say XYZ.
Step 1: Create a Boolean variable in the managed bean that will be true if the user has the role, false otherwise.
Step 2: Create a class called CurrentUser or something along those lines that will grab the logged in user's roles and test to see if he/she has the required role. It should set a variable within the class to true or false. Or you can skip creating a class and put this code in your managed bean constructor so that it runs as soon as the user goes looking for the tab. The whole point of this, regardless of how you do it, is to end up with a Boolean variable that is set to true or false depending on the role requirements.
Step 3: In your .jsff file (the one with the tab you want to show/hide in it), find the tab and look for an attribute named "rendered." This will likely be located in your <af:showDetailItem> tag under your <af:panelTabbed> tag. This controls whether or not the tab is displayed. So set the rendered value to the value of the boolean you created earlier, like this:
rendered=#{somebeanname.yourbooleanvariablename}"
Hence, when your variable is false, this tab will not be shown. If it's true, they will see the tab. That's all there is to it. :-)

Identifying users without DEFAULT ROLE ALL

I want to query the database catalog to identify users who have been defined without DEFAULT ROLE ALL. Unfortunately I do not see anything in DBA_USERS that would tell me this.
I suppose I could run DBMS_METADATA.EXTRACT_DDL to generate scripts for all users, and examine the output, but I would like something more direct.

DBA_ROLE_PRIVS will tell me if there are any non-default roles. But it will not tell me if the user has been set for DEFAULT ROLE ALL.

there is a field in the FM REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY HAVE export parameters "I_SAVE" PASS 'X' to it. I think it will work.

How to set the user's Default joboptions directory?

Hello Experts,
When we installed Acrobat Pro 8.x on our Win XP Pro systems our systems were NOT in a Windows Domain. At that time the default location for user-created/customized joboptions files was:
C:\Documents and Settings\<Username>\Application Data\Adobe\Adobe PDF\Settings
where <Username> is the name of the LOCAL Windows user.
A few years ago we migrated to a Windows Domain and converted our LOCAL users to domain users and disabled, but did not delete, the LOCAL user's account. We did not remove the LOCAL user's Documents and Settings directory structure either.
Our users now log into a DOMAIN rather than the LOCAL account.
As a result of that process the user's Documents and Settings directory structure changed to;
C:\Documents and Settings\<Username.DOMAINNAME>
where DOMAINNAME is, of course, our Windows Domain Name.
Now we are beginning to use Acrobat Distiller joboptions and I notice that when Acrobat/Distiller goes to save a user-created/customized joboptions file the default location has remained;
C:\Documents and Settings\<Username>\Application Data\Adobe\Adobe PDF\Settings
which is NOT the user who is logged in
Acrobat/Distiller should use the Documents and Settings directory of the user who is actually logged in which is;
C:\Documents and Settings\<Username.DOMAINNAME>\Application Data\Adobe\Adobe PDF\Settings
This anomaly has created some confusion and appears to have created a dependency of the old LOCAL user's Documents and Settings directory preventing us from deleting it.
Question:
How can we force Acrobat/Distiller to use the Documents and Settings directory of the logged in user (eg: the Domain user)?
In other words, how do we set the user's default joboptions directory?
Pointers/tips/and tricks are most welcome.

if the user is the one running the program, you can always get the home directory using System.getProperties ("user.home");
If you are trying to get the properties of another user, you could try using setProperties to change the user name first, before getiting the home directory, but it probably won't work because of the security manager. You could read the /etc/passwd file and parse the path out, but once again, the user of the code would have to have appropriate permission.
