Setting target in Link Object

Hi everyone,
When creating a link object in an application, is there any way
to set the "target=" parameter? We would like the link in a
report to open up a new window instead of using the existing one.

i'm pretty sure we haven't given you a great way to add extra attributes to those links that you can generate in the column attributes screen. i'll check with our reports guy in a bit to make sure about that. if there is a good way, i'll post again. otherwise i'll just log the enhancement request. in the meantime, you can always code your anchor tag into your select statement for the query region. it's not the cleanest approach, but it'd certainly get the job done.

ADF BC: both ID and view link object as getter/setter in row impl

I notice something when generating the row implementation of VO that have links to other VO. I can't seem to find the logic behind it...
Following model:
users( id, address_id,name,firstname,...)
address(id, street,number,...)
their is an assosiation between the UsersEO and the addressEO. Their is also a view link between the UsersVO and the AddressVO based upon the assosiation of the EO's.
When we create the row implementation of the UsersVO we find a getter and setter for both the address_id as well as the address row object.
Why is this?
We have this issue because i added the UsersVO and the addressVO to the app module but i haven't added the link to the appModule but when i create the SDO from the appModule, the Users has both the address_id as the address row object.
THis does not seem to make sense. How do you use it correctly? Do you just need to set the address_id and can leave the row object null or do they both need to have the same? What if you set the address_id to 1 but the id in the address row object is set to 5...
How do the databindings handle these things?
To me it seems more logical that the VO only has a getter and setter for the address object and handles the address_id in the background according to the values in the address object.
Can someone explain me why this is implemented this way and how to handle it correctly?

As mentioned above, once you add the addressVO to AM using the VL, the framework will take care setting the value of the row objects accordingly.

Set up a link in Query Designer

How expert,
i would like to set up a link in Query Designer so that by running the query in Bex Analyzer the user can see the link and connect to it directly.
Any idea?

Hi,
in rsbbs you define your query as sender object. Then you create jump targets in there. You will get a list of possible target types such as r/3 transactions, other queries and also web sites.....
Select the appropriate type and enter the value for it. These targets will be available by right clicking on the query result using the option 'jump to' or 'goto'.

I am not sure if the first 3 connection entries are even needed in here, are they?

Thank you both for your responses, my findings are as follows:
1. HOST=X.X.COM, ensure host is reachable : PING works and host(s) are reachable.
2. In RAC Env, ensure TNS Name is correctly spelled, spelling fine, i can connect with the tns name (is TNS name same as SERVICE_NAME?) by: sqlplus 'user/user@racenv'; but my efforts still will not allow me to use:
sqlplus 'user/user' it tells me that the host or object is does not exist, does this refer to the actual physical machine or the service name, or the instance name?
All host entries in my tnsnames.ora file refer to the vip addresses of both servers holding the rac installation, and both are resolved just fine, testing with ping; any other way to test this?
tnsnames file contains CONNECTION strings in the following order (does the listener entry need to be in the file? on the machine that i am trying to connect from?):

I've installed XE 10.2 under Fedora Core 7 from the downloaded .rpm. The RPM installs fine, and I've run the config from the command line. I've edited my bash file to load the environment variables. Here's my hosts file:

{@link Object#clone()} , -link does not work!!

I have a problem with this!!
Somehow the -link option does not work very well.
I have ensured that I did correctly set my command option -link to
-link http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.1/docs/api
I have already imported java.lang.Object at the top of my source code.
When I tried to use {@link Object#clone()}, it doesnt work at all.
I have also tried all sorts of names like fully qualified ones and such.
The hyperlinks do not appear ( i.e. they just appear as plain text but not hyperlinks!!) I realise the ONLY way I can get it to point to the correct link is
{@link <a href = "http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.1/docs/api/java/lang/Object.html#clone()">clone()</a>}
which is very lame.
I want to be able to write doc @tags such that I do not have to specify the full complete http address.
Anyone can help ? Thank you very much!!
P/S: I know this is a bug in 1.2.2 javadoc but I suppose this bug would have been fixed by now....

I am facing strange issue. we have one iview and it assigned to one. this link(role-->i view) is working fine from longtime.
but last week onwards for some users(they have access) this iview disappearing some time and appearing some time.
when i verify in the content admin i was able to see the link ,(in the role also). then i cleared cache ,and then when i verify in the content admin i was not able to see the link . and in the role i am seeing as ' linked object not available" .
please let me know why this happend is there any note available to resolve this.

Hi,
I assume you have enabled the Connector for Caching Roles.
Please Check the Property of the iView under the Property Category : Navigation >> "Metadata for the Navigation Hierarchy".
Ensure that the Property is set to "Cacheable".
Also Synchronize Cache for the Connector under System Administration >> Navigation >> Navigation Cache.

Link objects in reports visible without permission

I am creating reports that have links to forms. I wish these links to be disabled when someone is not provided permissions to the link or to the resulting form. I have created link objects and set the permissions for public to not have access, but the reports which the public does have access to still displays the link and allows public access to the form (unless I protect the form, which works, but I don't want the public to access the link at all).
Do the priviledges on the links work? And if so, where do they apply? Because they don't seem to apply to the reports I have them in.

First off can you access the report in the native web interface remotely?
BTW I don't recommend accessing the report via the console too much overhead.

i can create a linked object & assign through the datasource to salesperson screen but its a problem when the sales person selected through the orrange arrow help Screen but this value should not reflect in my screen when i return to the original screen
1. i click orrange button
2. sales person screen screen appears
3. i select any one i hope & press OK Button
4. I will not reflect in My Main Screen

Hi,
the "linked button" is only one directional!
When you navigate to another record in the target object form this "link" (which is as you can see not a real link, but just a starting point...) is "broken".
You will have to implement some workaround where you keep in your Add-On the information which form (2) was launched from which item in the original form (1) + modify this item on form 1 in case the user navigates to another record in form 2.

Urgent: Linked object not available

We imported one role from one EP7 (DEV) into another EP7 (QAS).
At target QAS PCD, we see the role has a path:
pcd:portal_content/com.sap.portal.migrated/SAPComponentSystems/roles/DEVCLIENT10/ROLE1.
1) We changed above path to:
pcd:portal_content/com.sap.portal.migrated/SAPComponentSystems/roles/QASCLIENT10/ROLE1;
2) We made sure EP7 QASCLIENT10 is connected to the backend well;
3) the backend QAS/10 indeed has the role called ROLE1.
But we still see on PCD, this imported role (ROLE1) has no any transaction. It shows a lot of "linked object not available".
I remember a place to activate it but anyway cannot figure out.
Please advise. Points guaranteed. Regards.

I am quoting from SAP Help regarding the folder where the role uploaded objects should be stored.
The folder in which the objects are stored after the upload is defined in service com.sap.portal.pcd.rolemigration. The path portal_content/com.sap.portal.migrated/SAPComponentSystems/ is entered as default value. You can also define a different path in the service.
The default folder can be found in the Portal Catalog under Portal Content -> Migrated Content -> SAPComponentSystems. You find further sub-folders that are created automatically with the upload below folder SAPComponentSystems. The objects uploaded from the backend systems are automatically sorted according to the following criteria in this folder: by the portal object type to which they are converted and by the logical system from which they are uploaded.
You can check what path you have in your portal under the service com.sap.portal.pcd.rolemigration from System Admin -> System Config -> Service Config -> Applications. There you should find the location where your objects should be stored.

How to set the HOME link from two frame jsp page to no frame main page?

Hi all,
i have one main jsp page named as main.jsp.
From the main.jsp, i can click the button and link to the twoFrame.jsp.
This twoFrame.jsp have another two different jsp inside the frame called Aframe.jsp and Bframe.jsp.
i try to put HOME in the Aframe.jsp(one of the page inside twoFrame.jsp) but only the Aframe.jsp manage to link to main.jsp but the Bframe still there.
My question is: How to set the HOME link button from this twoFrame.jsp to the main.jsp? what i want is from twoFrame.jsp(two frame) to main.jsp(no frame).

Technical Help: Get linked Objects to CASE

Hi forum,
during runntime of CRM IC webclient I have the GUID of the Case.
My requirement: Read all linked objects to this Case/Case GUID. If a linked object (e.g. internal task) is open, the agent should not be able to close the case -> Raise Error message in Case Creation/Changing ICWC.
So: Can anybody help me with the question, how to get all linked objects during runtime, which are assigned to the Case? Function Modul? Method of a class?

If your model not released yet you can delete the linked objects form the record model but if the record model status set to released you will only be able to flag it as deleted and you will not see it any more in the case

Update data targets from ODS object automatically

Hello experts,
I have an ods (that has two delta loading every night) with the setting: "Update data targets from ODS object automatically". This ODS is source of only one other ODS.
But we have a chain when there are the seguent steps: delta 1 --> ODS1,
delta 2 --> ODS1; Activate ODS1; delta --> ODS2; Activate ODS2.
The setting "Update data targets...automatically" could create some problems?
I think this because it is happened that in delta loading of ODS2, some records have only the key filled, and all the data fields blank; then, if I make a full repair of these records, all data are correctly filled.
Could be this the cause?
Help me..it is urgent..

Hi Vito,
To have better control of processes when ods gets data from multiple sources and supply it forward to ODS and cube ...we generally deactivate the flag "update data automatically".
And Process chains looks like ..
From source 1,2,3 update data into ODS 1.
Activate Data ODS1
Initiate delta from ODS1 to ODS2.
Activate data ODS2.
We did face some problem of blank records with only key filled and later deactivated the checbox "Update data into data targets automatically" and it resovled lots of issues.

Top part with Windows/Mac filtering was copy-pasted from default InDeign script "ImageCatalog.jsx" as example and modified - I'm not sure if all this stuff is needed, I haven't test if it works the same without those filtering on both OS - if that's not needed - then thanks for tip!
PS: in your findWhat \l{3,4} will not catch .ai files
and what means .source at the end? is that doing necessary escaping, so with it it's posible to write \l instead of \\l
