Setting the default zoom

We are using Form Designer 8.1.1 with Reader 8.1.1
Whenever a form is accessed via Reader it opens with a zoom level of 177% which fills the width of the screen.
The form user has to retset the zoom level to 67% in order to see a complete page.
Can the zoom level be set in Form Designer so that forms always open with a zoom level of 67%?
I have tried using this.zoom = 67; in the formready and layoutready events - but to no avail.

Paul,
Many thanks for your response.
Unfortunately I cannot get the command to work.
I tried the script in both the formready and layoutready events e.g.
===========================================
form1::ready:form - (JavaScript, client)
//  Set zoom level to 67%
    event.target.zoom = 67;
==========================================
When previewing the form in Designer the following message was displayed on the console:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
InvalidSetError: Set not possible, invalid or unknown.
Doc.zoom:3:XFA:form1[0]:ready
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I added 'xfa.' to the the start of the line of script to read 'xfa.event.target.zoom = 67;' - but with the same result.
To ensure that the script was correct I keyed 'event.' and a list popped up from which I was able to select 'target'.
However, when I keyed '.' after 'event.target' and the next list popped up it did not contain 'zoom'.
This would appear to reinforce what the error message was telling me - that zoom is not a valid option.
What have I missed?
Yours hopefully,
John

  • How to set the default zoom of browser to lowervalue(say 50% of present zoom) through prefs.js?

    Hi,
    I want to reduce the browser zoom level to a lower value so that i could see the whole of webpage through prefs.js as its for a test automation.
    I just wanted to see whole page on the browser.
    Can any help me with what this can be achieved?

    These are the three preferences which are related to '''zoom''' in about:config - changed values in about:config are written to the prefs.js file. <br />
    toolkit.zoomManager.zoomValues <br />
    zoom.maxPercent <br />
    zoom.minPercent
    I don't think zoom works directly thru the prefs.js file, though.
    I suggest you look at the Mozilla Developer Network articles for help with what you want to achieve, starting with this: <br />

  • How can I set a default zoom for the browser (freeze it)?

    Hello, there's an option of using the Ctrl + + to zoom the Web page, but it reverts to the Firefox default zoom in the midst which is very annoying. Generally, I'd like to be able to set a certain default zoom level and then only if needed use the CTRL +/- zoom in and out options. So my optimal zoom level is used for all my browsing unless I change it.

    I have listed 2 add-ons below for you to consider. I have not used NoSquint, but I use and rely on Default FullZoom Level.
    *You can set a default zoom level in DFZL Options
    *You can use the mouse scroll wheel on the Add-on Bar DFZL icon to increase or decrease the zoom or click the icon and choose from the available zoom percentages.
    *In NoSquint, it says it saves the zoom level by web site/page.

  • How do you set the default magnification for Acrobat.  All documents that I open enlarge to 174% and are too big.

    How do you set the default magnification for Acrobat.  All documents that I open enlarge to 174% and are too big.  I see how to change the size after the document is open by going to File/properties/initial view and saving this setting.  I want all documents to open at 100% when they are first opened.  Can I set this as a default view?

    Hey Kris,
    You might go to Edit> Preferences> Zoom
    Do this without opening any particular PDF so that it applies to the program itself and not just one document.
    Try this and then let me know.

  • Running Mavericks - How do you change the default zoom level in safari

    How do you set the default zom level in Safari when running the new Mavericks OS X 10.9, so every page opened doesn't have to be zoomed individually?

  • How do I set the default x-axis scale in DIAdem View?

    Hi everyone:
    I look at large amounts of data (i.e. many different data files every day), and I am trying to load and view them quickly and efficiently. Currently, when I have data sets loaded in the "Structure" tab, and I click and drag a numeric channel over to the 2-D plot, DIAdam automatically scales the x-axis from 0 to 60, when the numeric channels can be anywhere from 50 000 to 100 000 entries long. I now use the roller on my mouse to zoom out for five minutes before seeing the entire data set. My question is is there a way to re-set the default x-axis scaling so I do not have to zoom out each time I plot a numeric channel?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hello Peter!,
    The DIAdem VIEW windows will always auto-scale to the full range of the values on the X-axis when you drag data into a new window.
    You have several options on how to quickly get to the range of data you wish to see.
    Right click on the LEFT edge of the data you wish to zoom into, HOLD the mouse right mouse button and DRAG the mouse to the right side of the section you wish to zoom into. DIAdem will automatically show the section you have selected in a zoomed view in that same window
    Result:
    Alternatively, you can double click on the VIEW window and check the "Manual X-Scaling" box and then enter the exact values you wish to zoom into
    Also, you could use the Band Cursor from the toolbar, move and resize the Band in the VIEW window and then use the "Scroll in Cursor Range" icon to zoom into the area of the curve you are interested in.
    These are just a few ways you should be able to accomplish what you have described in your post.

  • How can I reset the DEFAULT zoom view in Firefox at 125%, like IE, so I don't have to reset it every time ?

    How can I reset the DEFAULT zoom view in Firefox at 125%, like IE, so I don't have to reset it every time ?
    I have seen this question asked previously and it seems there is no answer.
    I know that one can change each individual web page (that reset defaults back to 100%) and, alternatively and apparently one can load an add-on to fix the default size at Full Zoom.
    ... But any hints on how to achieve a DEFAULT 125% zoom would be much appreciated.

    Press CTRL + 0
    Have you tried Firefox's zoom feature? Font size and zoom - increase the size of web pages
    You can "zoom" all sites using this add-on: [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2592/ NoSquint]. After setting your global zoom level, you can still fine-tune the zoom on individual sites.
    After installing NoSquint, click the % on the Add-on Bar to call up site preferences, then click the Global Settings button, then the Zooming tab.
    If you don't have the Add-on Bar displayed, you can right-click the new tab button ("+") or a blank area of the tab bar to the right of it and choose Add-on Bar from the shortcut menu.
    You can experiment with sizes larger than 125%, but I wouldn't go much higher than 150% unless you have a large high-resolution monitor.
    If there are particular sites that still present a problem, feel free to post their URLs.
    You can find more information about the zoom features Firefox offers in these articles:
    [[Text zoom]] - For zooming text only
    [[Page zoom]] - For zooming the whole page (including images etc.)

  • How do I get the default zooming to not include images or how can I resize everything but actual images?

    I have a problem with the default zooming in firefox Using default layout.css.devPixelsPerPx=-1 or layout.css.devPixelsPerPx=1.5 makes all UI and webpage text look nice and readable, spacing is fine and everything. The only problem is that images are ALSO zoomed which is ridiculous. I guess I would like a way to scale everything BUT images. I have a hi-resolution monitor and think it's silly to have to zoom out every image on a web page just because I wanted text and the UI enlarged. I tried NoSquint using 65% for pages and 150% for text only, but that had the issue of making ONLY text scaled up and not spacing and other stuff (google searches looked even more silly using only 6 cm to the left, rows too close overwrote themselves etc.)

    That is not possible.
    The layout.css.devPixelsPerPx pref affects everything in Firefox, both the user interface and the browsing area.
    'Full page zoom' affects all elements on web pages including images and 'zoom text only' affects the text and can cause issues with text overlapping or disappearing similar to setting a minimum font size because the containing element keeps the same dimensions.
    You can't just exclude the images from zoom and have the containers expand automatically.

  • Want to set a default zoom level for safari?  Here's how you do it.

    If you like to set a default zoom level for safari so you don't have to hit Ctrl+ (or Ctrl-) every time you start Safari and open a new tab, here's how you can do that. This should work on Safari for mac, too:
    1) create a file named defaultzoom.css (or any name you like, just make sure it has a css extension.)
    2) copy and paste in the following:
    body {
    zoom: 130%;
    change 130 to whatever number suits you. >100 means zoom in, <100 means zoom out. Don't forget the % percent sign!
    3) in safari, go to Preferences > Advanced. Under style sheet, select Other... and point to the file you created.
    4) you may need to restart safari for the change to take effect.
    Voila. Hope that helps someone.

    Yes you are right!
    This CSS zooming is a crude hack. I think it basically treats a web page like a pdf document where you just enlarges everything.
    When you zoom manually, safari does a smarter sort of zoom where it enlarges but tries to keep widths of the elements the same size, reflowing text where needed and scrolling only when necessary.
    If the web page has a fixed size that is smaller than your browser window, like this forum, css zoom works ok. But with a page like gmail, which has no width constraint, you get into trouble.
    Hmm, wait, I just checked out wiki, which also uses up all available screen real estate, but does NOT have this problem.
    Notice in gmail, even if you zoom way out below what should be 100%, the login is still off the screen. The font gets real small but the width of the page stays the same. The css zoom basically "sticks" and isn't completely reversible.
    Bottom line: you have to decide which is more annoying: having to hit Ctrl+ for every tab you open, or running into some problematic pages.
    On Windows, I use autohotkey (a kdb and mouse macro scripting program) to switch off the CSS on the fly when I need to. I think Mac has similar capability built in, right? If I were really clever, I guess I could program autohotkey to send a few ctrl+ whenever it detects a new window or tab in safari, but I'm not there yet.
    Bottom bottom line: Apple needs to add this feature. It's a pretty basic accessibility feature. Doesn't Apple have like an accessibility guru/advocate?

  • How to set the default zoomsize

    Hi, i want to open all dokuments with a 120% zoom when i doubleklick on the pdffile.
    I tryed to use the  Edit -> Prefenerences -> Page Display ->  Zoomfaktor
    But this only works if i open PDF file out of the PDF Reader...
    Is there any way to set a default zoom witch is used when i open the file on the desktop?

    There are a couple of ways of doing this:
    If you're editing on the canvas, press Shift + Enter.
    If you're working in Express View (see lower right hand corner of Project Siena), you'll need to copy a hard return from another app such as Notepad.
    I believe a better implementation of hard returns are in the list of requested functionality that you can find here:

  • How to set the default page size ?

    Hi there,
    I just bought a 15.4" Macbook Pro.
    When I use Safari to surf, I found that the image/fonts are to small for my liking.
    So I did VIEW > ZOOM IN two times & the image/fonts & it become satisfactory.
    But after I shutdown & restart the laptop again, I find that whenever I startup, the page in Safari when back to the smaller setting & I have to click VIEW > ZOOM IN twice again .
    My question is how to make this settings permanent ? It is irritating having to do VIEW > ZOOM IN everytime I start up the system !!
    Any ideas ?
    Thnaks

    In Safari, go to Safari >> Preferences. Click on the Appearance tab. Set the standard and monospaced fonts. That not only sets the default fonts for web pages (many web-sites will specify other fonts), but also the default sizes (though web-sites can specify alternate sizes). Also, on the 'Advanced' tab, there's a checkbox labeled 'Never use font sizes smaller than' followed by a drop-down. This permits you to prevent the text from going beneath the specified size.
    The advanced tab also permits you to provide a CSS stylesheet to apply as the default. If you know CSS, this can be very powerful.

  • Is there a way to set a default zoom factor?

    I am running firefox on a media center PC attached to a HD flat-panel TV. Due to the high spatial resolution of the display device, and the relatively large viewing distance, opening web pages with a zoom factor of 1 is inadequate. It would be great if I could set a default zoom factor to use when a new web page is opened for the first time. I used 'about:config' to set 'zoom.minPercent' and 'zoom.maxPercent' to larger values. However, these parameters apparently only take effect when the zoom factor is changed for a page, and seem to be ignored when a new page is openened. And, of course, what I really want to set is not a range of allowed values, but a default value instead.

    If it is only in firefox that you have problems the ''layout.css.devPixelsPerPx ''can be changed. (That at least works in Windows systems see [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/772884#answer-126017 this thread ]; changing the interface as well as the content )
    There are also addons that may help, but unfortunately possibly not Linux compatible types.
    If it is all of your GUI including when you are using the machine offline then you may need to look at Linux, but I assume that is bound to have methods for changing screen appearance and resolution.

    The radio button “Service” should not be visible.
    Also for search help (e.g. search for internal products) where a search should only be possible for product type 01 (goods). The system should not display the product type and internally always search for goods only.
    How to set the default values for product type (01) only for SC
    We needs to use Search help BBPH_PRODUCT which having parameter PRODUCT_TYPE
    Here we can set defalut value 01 but it is not correct one since same search help is using several places.
    We need to limit the search help results only for SC.
    Kindly help out me ASAP.

    The easiest way to set defautl values is to edit the batch class.
    Goto the characteiristic and go to update values.
    In here you probably have something like 0 - 100 as a spec range.
    On the next line enter the default value within this range.  At the end of the line, click in the box in the column labelled "D".  This indicates the defautl value for the characteristic.
    If you need to you can do this in the material classification view as well.
    Just to be clear, these values will only show up in the batch record.  You can not have defautl values in resutls recording screens.
