    look at this link

    I read sometime back that castor has a tool to do
    conversion. You might have a look into casto as well.

  • Setting the value of a JScrollBar inside a JScrollPane not working.

    I have a display area (JPanel) inside a JScrollPane. What i want to do is that every time the user closes my application a file is saved with some preferences, like position and size onscreen, and the values of the scrollbars. My problem is that when I try to set the values of the JScrollBars, they seem to be completely ignored.
    I made a small class to illustrate this:
    import java.awt.*;
    import javax.swing.*;
    public class ScrollExample extends JFrame
         private JPanel display;
         private JScrollPane displayScroll;
         public ScrollExample()
              display = new JPanel();
              display.setPreferredSize( new Dimension( 800, 600 ) );
              displayScroll = new JScrollPane( display );
              add( displayScroll );
              setSize( 400, 300 );
              setVisible( true );
              displayScroll.getHorizontalScrollBar().setValue( displayScroll.getHorizontalScrollBar().getMaximum() );
         public static void main( String args[] )
              new ScrollExample();
    }The behaviour of is as intended. However if we switch the two lines to be:
    displayScroll.getHorizontalScrollBar().setValue( displayScroll.getHorizontalScrollBar().getMaximum() );
    setVisible( true );and launch it, the scrollbar appears to have moved only a small amount. This leads me to believe that it has something to do with the main window being visible. In my actual application, this call to setValue is ignored, unlike in this sample one. Even placing it after the setVisible call, it does not do anything.
    When I tried to use:
         Runnable doScroll = new Runnable()
                 public void run()
                      taskDisplayScroll.getHorizontalScrollBar().setValue( 200 );
             SwingUtilities.invokeLater(doScroll);after the setVisible call, as mentioned on http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=723424, it rarely (maybe 3 out of 20 times) sets the scrollbar to the indicated value.
    My question is this: What does the setValue() call depend on to run properly, and how do I code it to work in my program?
    If you need any additional information, please ask.
    Note: In the sample class I provided, the scrollbar moves to its proper spot, I could not cause it to not move at all, as is the case in my application that seems to have the same calls.
    Thanks, Serge.

    Can you please explain to me how b) would be implemented.Read the Swing tutorial on Concurrency for the new approach in JDK1.6, or I still prefer to use SwingUtilities.invokeLater for somthing simple like this.

  • How to set the value in the xml node.

    Hi
    I am having the application PDF which can be submitted by user using the button. while submitting
    i am using below code to set the value in the xml node.
       xfa.data.assignnode("employee.id","123",0):
    So its generating the xml like below.
    <employee>.
    <id>123</id>.
    </name>
    </employee>
    Now i need to generate the xml like  below.
    <employee id= "123" >
      </Name>
    </employee>
    So how to set/create the id node like above?
    Advance Thanks.
    Regards,
    Dhiyane

    Hi Dhiyane,
    You will have to set the contains property if the id node to "metaData", that is;
    xfa.data.assignNode("employee.id","123",0);
    xfa.data.employee.id.contains = "metaData";
    Very clumsy if you have a number of them, in which case you might want to look at using E4X.
    Good luck

  • Loading a file and setting the values in a Jtextfield

    Hi all,
    I've created a save and open menu option for my application. The save option works as it writes to file using jFileChooser. However when using the open file option the program opens the correct file and stores the strings read into a string variable, however when I go to set the value stored in the variable to a specific textfield using settext method, it doesn't do anything. Please can someone give me some suggestions on what I am doing wrong. The following is the code snippet that accesses the file and reads from it:
    try
    int result = jFileChooser1.showOpenDialog(this);
    if ( result == JFileChooser.APPROVE_OPTION )
    String str1 = jFileChooser1.getCurrentDirectory() +
    System.getProperty("file.separator") + jFileChooser1.getSelectedFile().getName() ;
    FileReader f = new FileReader( str1 );
    BufferedReader b = new BufferedReader(f);
    while((text1 = b.readLine()) != null)
    //text2 = b.readLine();
    jTextArea1.append("\ntext1: "+text1+"\nsize: "+size);
    if(text1 == "// System Configuration")
    text1 = b.readLine();
    size = text1.length();
    //text2 = text1;

    text1 = b.readLine();

  • How do I set the value of a dynamic row text field

    I have a repeated row form which contains a button and multiple text fields.  There is a text field (Input Data Field) further up with some information I want to place in the table and multiple buttons that I want to read the value of and set to the table.  I apologize there are multiple questions I have and I am using pseudocode to describe it.
    Top form looks like
    InputField
    | ButtonX1 | ButtonY1 | DescriptionX1 (read only Text Field)
    | ButtonXn | ButtonY1 | DescriptionXn
    OutputRow looks like
    | ButtonOutput | OutputField1 | OutputField2 | OutputField3 |
    So I would like it to do
    ButtonX1.click
    OutputTable.OutputRow.addInstance(true)  //this works - everything else I have questions on
    OutputTable.OutputRow.OutputField1.rawValue = DescriptionX1.rawValue
    Question 1
    How do I address the location in each table to set a value
    Question 2
    How do I get the value of the description field in the same table and row as the button
    I would like to say something to the effect of  OutputTable.OutputRow[??].OutputField1.rawValue = this.parent.DescriptionX
    OutputTable.OutputRow.OutputField2 = InputField.rawValue
      Same question as above - how do I specify a dynamic row - is this the proper syntax for getting the value from the input field?
    OutputTable.OutputRow.OutputField3 = this.ButtonLabel
    Question 3
      How can I get the value of the button's label to set in the field
      There should be very many of these buttons and buttons will be added - I would prefer to set the value based on the button's label to make the value easier - not requiring changing the code
    Question 4 - unrelated to those above.
    Is it possible to build the first table
    | ButtonX | ButtonY | Description |
    from an XML File.  I have seen examples of how to build if it is just data, but can the XML be pushed into a form with code to do the above actions?

    Each object in a form must have a unique name. I doing so it is not neccessarily the name but the path or SomExpression associated with that object that must be unique. In your case you have a Table.Row.object configuration. The Row is the part that is repeating so to give each object a unique name an instance number is placed on the repeating part. So objects in the 1st row woudl be Table.Row[0].object...objects in the second row woudl be Table.Row[1].object etc .....You can see this by adding a debug instruction on the Enter event of the description field. Put the code app.alert(this.somExpression) and when you enter the field you will see what the somExpression is. Do this for a few rows and you will see the pattern (don't forget to remove the debug code from the enter event). Now you know what you have to use to address the fields. If no instance is given it is assumed to be 0 ..that is why only the 1st row is being affected.
    So now to answer your questions:
    Question1: The square bracket notation is an issue for javascript (this is the notation for an array) so we have to use a different means of addressing the field to include the instance number. So to address the Description in the 3rd row we woudl use:
    xfa.resolveNode("Table.Row[2].Description").rawValue = "This is my new description";
    Note that the instance number is 2 for the 3rd row because the instance numbers are 0 based.
    Question2. The resolveNode notation allows you to pass a string so you can also concatinate expressions to make the string. If you are writing code on a button in the same row you can get the instance that you are on by using the expression this.parent.index. The "this" portion refers to the current object (the button) and the parent.index gets you th eindex of the Buttons parent. If the button is embedded deeper in a hierarchy then you can continue to add parent indicators until you get back to the node that you want. So rewriting your expression from Q1 it woudl be:
    xfa.resolveNode("Table.Row[" + this.parent.index + "].Description").rawValue = "This is my new description";
    Question3: The buttons caption can be retrieved by using ButtonName.caption.value.text.value
    Question4: When you say build from an XML file. What are you expecting to come from the XML file? The caption that goes on the button? Typically the XML file carries data (not to say that it cannot carry other things). Just need a bit of clarification on this one first.
    Hope that helps

  • The Managed Bean in the faces-config.xml File

    I am still very new to JSF. I am confused about the managed bean.
    For example, I have a button in my web page. A click on this button invokes an action; say, ListAction.java.
    In this ListAction class, I instantiate a business delegate; say, ListPersonnel.java and call a method in this business delegate to return an ArrayList: personnel. Of course, this business delegate goes through facade, DAO, etc. to populate the ArrayList. This ArrayList is a collecation of a JavaBean called PersonnelBean that gets and sets a number of personnel information; such as ssn, name, etc.
    Upon this ArrayList is successfully populated and received by the ListAction class, I am going to display a web page with a table. In JSF, it is <h:dataTable ...>.
    My questions are regarding the managed bean in the faces-config.xml file.
    1. Which one is my <managed-bean-class>? packageName.ListAction? or packageName.PersonnelBean? or something else?
    2. What should be my <managed-bean-name>? I guess that I can give a name I like. Is it right? What about xyz?
    3. Then, how do I specify the "value" attribute of my <h:dataTable ...> tag when I display a web page to show the data table? Is it correct to specify value="#{xyz.personnel}"? What is the correct specification if it is wrong?
    4. I guess that I can give any name to the "var" attribute in the <h:dataTable ...> tag. Is it right?

    1. Which one is my <managed-bean-class>?
    packageName.ListAction? or
    packageName.PersonnelBean? or something else?ListAction
    2. What should be my <managed-bean-name>? I guess
    that I can give a name I like. Is it right? What
    about xyz?Anything you like. xyz is OK.
    3. Then, how do I specify the "value" attribute of my
    <h:dataTable ...> tag when I display a web page to
    show the data table? Is it correct to specify
    value="#{xyz.personnel}"? What is the correct
    specification if it is wrong?xyz.personnel is OK assuming that ListAction class has a public
    method getPersonnel() which returns the ArrayList of PersonnellBeans.
    4. I guess that I can give any name to the "var"
    attribute in the <h:dataTable ...> tag. Is it right?Yes, you can give any name you like.

    Hi Lee,
    I am working on Oracle ADF 10.1.2 and getting the same problem. The lines in my struts-config.xml are as below:
    <action path="/unitsView" className="oracle.adf.controller.struts.actions.DataActionMapping" type="view.UnitsViewAction" name="DataForm" parameter="/unitsView.uix" unknown="false">
    <set-property property="modelReference" value="unitsViewUIModel"/>
    <forward name="unitsEditLink" path="/unitsEdit.do"/>
    </action>
    <action path="/unitsView" className="oracle.adf.controller.struts.actions.DataActionMapping" type="view.UnitsViewAction" name="DataForm" parameter="/unitsView.uix" unknown="false">
    <set-property property="modelReference" value="unitsViewUIModel"/>
    <forward name="unitsCreateLink" path="/unitsCreate.do"/>
    </action>
    I have two lines with [action path="/unitsView"]. The reason why is that I want the user to go to the form create screen for the create button and form edit screen for the edit button. If this does not work, it seems to mean that only a single screen can be used for create/edit functions. However, the ADF editor diagram looks perfectly to point to create.uix and edit.uix respectively.
    Please shed some light.
    Thanks,
    Regards,
    Michael

    hi shanu,
    the pbm is solved, now i m able to access XXX no. in action class & i m able to validate it. The only thing which i want to know is it ok to declare static ArrayList as i have done in this code. i mean will it affect the performance or functionality of the system.
    pls have a look at the following code snippet.

    static ArrayList strXXX = new ArrayList();
    public void validate(){

  • HT202879 How do I fix "the required index.xml file is missing?" when opening Pages documents?

    I can't open any documents from my son's iPad.  Error message: the required index.xml file is missing.  How do I fix this error so that I can open his Pages documents?  Before I ran the latest update as prompted when I opened Pages, I WAS able to open and view the document.
    I did try restoring Pages using my Time Machine, but it still won't open the Pages document.
    I have a brand new iMac that I just set up last week.
    Son uses iPad at school, so we update when the school asks him to update.  Will doublecheck his version of Pages but it should be pretty recent.
    In general I don't like using Pages because it lacks a lot of the backwards / forwards compatibilty of Microsoft Word.
    However, it is what my son uses with the iPad.
    Most of the time I have to export his files as WORD files because we never seem to have compatible versions of Pages between the iPad and the desktop iMacs.
    Where can I recommend that Apple improve its compatibility issues with Pages?
    This week I am going to receive a new iPad at my school (I am a teacher) but I am 100% certain that it will not be compatible with the older version of Pages on my classroom iMac.  I also avoid using Keynote for the same reason.  I have 15 year old Power Points that I can still open, but I am hesitant to switch over to Keynote because I want to be able to open my files any time, any where.
    Please advise.

    Not sure what v5 is. Someone helped me and opened it through Pages 5.2, through the program, rather than the Finder. Thanks for making a suggestion!

  • Pages Error "The required index.xml file is missing."

    When I try to open an existing Pages File by double clicking on the name in Finder (default application is Pages), I get the error message "The required index.xml file is missing."
    If I select the pages file, then use Open With / Pages App (default), the file opens fine with no errors.
    Is there some reason this is happening and is there a fix available.  This error started after I upgraded to Mavericks, then upgraded to the latest version of Pages (5.1).

    You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
    Pages 5 is in your Applications folder.
    Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
    You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
    Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
    Pages 5.01 can not open Pages 5.1 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
    Pages 5 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
    Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
    Once opened and saved in Pages 5.1 files can not be opened in Pages 5.
    Anything that is saved to iCloud is also converted to Pages 5 files.
    All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
    Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
    Apple has removed over 95 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

  • Setting the value of a field based on a dropdown list

    I am using the latest production release of JHeadstart 10.1.3.0.91. I am trying to set the value of a field based on selecting the value of another field (drop down list). The drop down list field has the following attributes set autoSubmit="true" immediate="true" valueChangeListener="#{jhsPageLifecycle.updateModelValue}".
    The other field has the partialtrigger set to the first field. ie "depends on" selection from JHeadStart file. The value of the second field is set in the setter of the VO RowImpl java file.
    The value of that field is only populated on the screen if it is set to disabled="true". This seems a bit bizzare behaviour. Can you explain why it cannot set the value of the field when it is not disabled.

    Worked out that if i set the "Clear/Refresh value" attribute on the field that i want updated then it will work ok

    I know what means "it works" : we get a package in which we may find the Index.xml file
    "It doesn't work" may means :
    (1) double click the zip file can't expand the file
    (2) it expands it but there is no index.xml file in the resulting package
    (3) it expands, there is an index.xml file but Pages can't use it
    It's a bit odd but we get the same error message in the three cases
    In case 1, your unique help is the pdf displayed in Preview.
    In case 2 & 3, you may retrieve your picture files if you inserted some of them.
    In case 3, sometimes, we may extract the text contents when a preview.pdf isn't available but for you, it's unneeded as the preview is available. So, you may extract the text component with a Copy/Paste action.
    CAUTION : I hope that this stupid accident will help you to understand that computers aren't perfect tools. When we use them, the main rule is *_keep incremental (chronological) backups_*. This will give you the ability to retrieve an usable document among a set of consecutive copies.
    You may achieve this goal with :
    (1) my free autosave script (dedicated to iWork)
    (2) the application ForeverSave which apply to every applications but is not free (to get incremental backups).

  • How is the Login-validation.xml file is called when we do the validation i

    Hi ^^,
    please forgive me if I am a big long while explaining.
    when you are using the struts 2.0 the web.xml has a welcome-file-list. I have put index.html in that list so it pulls up first.
    It has the following tag
    <ul>
              <li><a href="roseindia/showLoginClientSideValidation.action">Login Application (Client Side Validation)</a></li>
            </ul>so this maps to struts.xml which contains the showLoginClientSideValidation.action tag
    <action name="showLoginClientSideValidation">
                   <result>/pages/loginClientSideValidation.jsp</result>
            </action>
            <action name="doLoginClientSideValidation" class="net.roseindia.Login">
                <result  name="input">/pages/loginClientSideValidation.jsp</result>
                   <result  name="error">/pages/loginClientSideValidation.jsp</result>
                   <result>/pages/Loginsuccess.jsp</result>
            </action>
              this displays the jsp "loginClientSideValidation.jsp"
    once you enter the details in the jsp and click submit the control goes to Login.java file as per the mapping in struts.xml given above
    This is just a simple java file which contains the execute() method. This method returns success or error.
    If success is returned then the Loginsuccess.jsp is invoked
    If error is returned then the loginClientSideValidation.jsp is invoked
    Well so far so good
    I have also understood that to use client side validation you use validate = "true" in loginClientSideValidation.jsp
    However what I am not able to understand is how the Login-validation.xml file is being invoked
    Any help would be highly appreciated.
    thanks and regards,

    Hi ^^^,
    i found something interesting that I want to share
    Validation rules are handled by validators, which must be registered with the ValidatorFactory (using the registerValidator method). The simplest way to do so is to add a file name validators.xml in the root of the classpath (/WEB-INF/classes) that declares all the validators you intend to use.
    validators.xml if being defined should be available in the classpath. However this is not necessary, if no custom validator is needed. Webwork will automatically picked up a predefined sets of validators defined in com/opensymphony/xwork/validator/validators/default.xml packaged together in xwork jar file that comes with webwork distribution.
    So this is clear that the validators are defined in validators.xml or default.xml
    What is still not clear is how is the Login-validation.xml being called by jsp page to do verification and then linking to validators.xml to apply the rules.
    However people have been telling me that ----" Struts 2.0 have inbuilt functionalities to validate the Parameters" and that i need to
    "Define configuration file *-validation.xml or use annotations
    i) className-validation.xml
    ii) place this file in the directory where .class file is placed example.Login should have Login-validation.xml
    Do you all think is this sufficient for an answer or should my search go on?
    thanks and regards,
    Prashant
