Setting transaction isolation upon enlistment for XA driver not supported !!?!!?

Hi !
I've been developping a simple webapplication with a few Entity CMP EJB, Struts
and some JSP.
I registred a Pointbase XA JDBC driver in Weblogic 8.1.
When I want to create a new post in the database via one of my EJB, I get "Due
to vendor limitations, setting transaction isolation upon enlistment for "Pointbase
XA" JDBC XA driver is not supported".
What do I have to add in my xml files to make it work ?
Something with <transaction-isolation> in the weblogic-ejb-jar.xml ?
I'll appreciate some help here...
Extract of my code (CustomerEditAction.java):
<<
CustomerHomeLocal chome = (CustomerHomeLocal) Locator.getHome("CustomerHomeLocal");
prop = chome.create(cform.getName(), cform.getAddress(), cform.getZipcode(), cform.getCity(),cform.getCountry(),
cform.getEmail(), cform.getPhone(), cform.getHomepage());
                         And the error message and stack is:

  • Setting transaction isolation level on a replicated server stored procedure

    I have a SQL server that has replication turned onto to another server which is our reporting server. Replication is real-time (or close to it). On the report server I have a stored procedure that runs from a SRS report. My question is it possible or advisable
    or does it even make sense to set the "SET TRANSACTION ISOLATION LEVEL READ COMMITTED" on at the beginning of the stored procedure which selects data from the reporting server database? Is it possible for uncommitted data on the OLTP side of the
    house to be replicated before it is committed? We are having data issues with a report and have exhausted all options and was wondering if dirty data maybe the issue since the same parameters work for a report 1 sec and then next it doesnt.

    Only committed transactions are replicated to the subscriber.  But it is possible for the report to see dirty data if running in READ UNCOMMITTED or NOLOCK.  You should run your reports in READ COMMITTED or SNAPSHOT isolation , and your replication
    subscriber should be configured with READ COMMITTED SNAPSHOT ISLOATION eg
    alter database MySubscriber set allow_snapshot_isolation on;
    alter database MySubscriber set read_committed_snapshot on;
    as recommended here
    Enhance General Replication Performance.

  • Setting Transaction Isolation

    Hi,
    Is there an OCCI API to set the transaction isolation level for a connection? (eg, TRANSACTION_READ_COMMITTED, TRANSACTION_SERIALIZABLE, etc)
    Thanks,
    Nilofer

    There is no API, you have to execute the corresponding SQL statements through Statement::execute :-
    stmt->execute("SET TRANSACTION ISOLATION LEVEL SERIALIZABLE");

  • OpenSQLException: JDBC driver not supported?

    Hi @ all,
    I need to connect to a DataSource with the WebAS 7 via SQLJ. As I try to connect to it with the SQL Engine set to "Vendor SQL" I get:
    "The given connection "com.sap.engine.services.dbpool.cci.ConnectionHandle" is not an Open SQL connection"
    As I try to get a connection to the dataSource via SQLJ with SQL Engine set to "Open SQL" or "Native SQL", I get the following Exception:
    ResourceException in method ConnectionFactoryImpl.getConnection(): com.sap.engine.services.dbpool.exceptions.BaseResourceException: SQLException thrown by the physical connection: com.sap.sql.log.OpenSQLException: JDBC driver not supported for MS_SQL_SERVER database.
    How can I get the SQLJ- Support?
    Kind regards,

    Hi Uwe, all,
    for using Native SQL/JDBC or Open SQL/JDBC, the database itself and the JDBC driver must be recognized as being in the supported set. The answer to that depends on what you mean in detail by "Web AS 7". Roughly speaking, it should be the JDBC driver released by Microsoft.
    Open SQL/SQLJ is only available with a Open SQL/JDBC data source. Hence, there is no way around using Open SQL/JDBC.
    Now, Open SQL/JDBC and Open SQL/SQLJ both requires tables (and other database objects) to be deployed via the Open SQL for Java Dictionary. Up to and including WebAS Java 7.1, the Open SQL/Dictionary supports deployment to the system database, i.e. the database (and schema) used by the installed server itself.
    Given the above, the JDBC driver for a Open SQL/JDBC data source must already be present, because it must be the driver used by the server itself. When defining data sources, it is referred to as "system driver".
    This leaves us with a Open SQL/JDBC data source to the system schema. You can then also consider to establish a data source alias to the server's system datasource.
    Hope this helps. Best Regards, Dietamr

  • Jabber 4.4 "Graphics card or driver not supported" error on one machine but not another.

    Hi, I looked at the KB document but the email link on it no longer works.
    I have two end-users using Jabber 4.4 on identical machines, same specs, same driver build and OS image. One gets the  "Graphics card or driver not supported" error, the other does not.
    We have two DellOptiPlex 7010's,
    Both had 2 instances of AMD Radeon HD 7470 - they are dual monitor machines.
    In both cases the driver version 8.922.0.0, Driver Date 12/6/2011. This is the latest Dell has on their website.
    On one machine when I run a fresh install for Jabber for TelePresence 4.4 it works fine. But on another the user first gets
    "supportabilitytest.exe has stopped working
    A oriblem cause the program to stop working correctly. Please close the program."
    Then when that's closed out we get:
    "Graphics card or driver not supported!
    New features in this version of Jabber Video are not supported by your computer's graphics driver.
    Update to the newest graphics driver available and run Jabber Video again."
    I can't believe it's just a matter of upgrading the drivers because in this case one machine with identical drivers works.
    I appreciate any insights, thanks !

    Hi ksouthall,
    It sounds like the openGL supported version did not install on the one that is failing.  There isn't much we can do regarding that error.  Best practice is to always upgrade to the latest manufacturer's available driver.  Client requirements are below.
    Windows 7 (32-bit or 64-bit), Vista, or XP (SP 2 or newer), with OpenGL 1.2 or newer.
    For 720p HD video calls, Intel Core2Duo @ 1.2GHz or better.
    For VGA video calls, Intel Atom @ 1.6GHz or better.
    Webcam, built-in or external. You need an HD webcam if you want other callers to see you in HD.
    Broadband Internet connection with a recommended bandwidth of 768kbps upstream and downstream. You need about 1.2Mbps upstream and downstream for 720p HD video calls.

  • Getting compilation error: java.util.Set is an interface. This interface is not supported.

    Hi Folks,
    Is there a limitation in BEA's web services implementation? I have a simple web
    service that returns an array of java objects. However I am calling another middle
    tier API that returns a Set. I convert this Set into array of object and return
    it via the web service.
    However the .jws file that implements the webservice does not compile. I get the
    following error message:
    java.util.Set is an interface. This interface is not supported.
    Is there a limitation on using Collections within the .jws file? If that is the
    case it is a severe limitation.
    Note my Web Service API returns an array of java objects with no collections in
    them.
    Sanjay

    Hello,
    Generic java collections can only be handled in a very generic, weakly
    typed manner.
    Take a look at the
    http://workshop.bea.com/xmlbeans/guide/conXMLBeansSupportBuiltInSchemaTypes.html
    and also
    http://workshop.bea.com/xmlbeans/guide/conJavaTypesGeneratedFromUserDerived.html
    You might also ask your question to the XMLBeans newsgroup:

    Hi,
    We have install OSB Client on HP-UX 11i V2 HP rx5670 Server as per Oracle Secure backup Installation Guide.

    Khairul/Bangladesh

    Have a look at the observiced.log file to see if that has any more detail, this is in /usr/tmp.
    I would check to see if there is something else on the system that is using TCP port 400 or 10000. On Solaris I've seen the webmin installation using port 10000. Both those ports need to be free for OSB to be able to start.
    With OSB stopped, you can "telnet <hostname> 400" and "telnet <hostname> 10000" to see if it connects. If it does then something is listening on that port.
    You should be able to do "netstat -na" as well, to show you listening ports.

  • Setting transaction isolation level for jDriver Oracle/XA

    edocs (http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs70/oracle/trxjdbcx.html#1080746) states that,
    if using jDriver for Oracle/XA you can not set the transaction isolation level
    for a
    transaction and that 'Transactions use the transaction isolation level set on
    the connection
    or the default transaction isolation level for the database'. Does this mean that
    you shouldn't try to set it programatically (fair enough) or that you can't set
    it in the weblogic deployment descriptor either? Also anybody got any idea what
    the default is likely to be if you are using
    an Oracle 9iR2 database?

    Ian,
    The default for Oracle (any version) is ReadCommitted. The only other
    isolation level Oracle supports is Serializable but it's implemented in
    such a way that you will be allowed to continue until commit time and
    only then you might get an exception stating the the access for that
    transaction could not be serialized.
    I don't know for the jDriver but if you use the Oracle Thin XA driver
    even if you set the isolation level in your descriptor you will get an
    exception from Weblogic. It is a Weblogic bug and you can contact
    [email protected] to get a patch.

  • Setting transaction isolation levels in WAS5

    I think I'm missing something pretty easy. How can I set the isolation
    levels for the containter managed transactions on my beans?
    Specifically, I want to set soem lookup methods on my Sessions beans
    to TRANSACTION_REPEATABLE_READ. I've already put the
    container-transaction blocks in my ejb-jar.xml
    Does Websphere 5 have something akin to WebLogic's
    weblogic-ejb-jar.xml where you can set additional parameters like
    this? Do I have to use a tool like WSAD to specify this? The AAT
    doesn't seem to have this option.
    Thanks,
    James Lynn

    Hi Slava, Ryan,
    We haven't looked at 8.1 yet since our release cycle wouldn't allow us
    to move to 8.1 until at least June anyway, but even if the problems was
    fixed there it took BEA support more than 6 months (I opened the case on
    Sep 23 2002 and only this week I got the patch that I haven't even tried
    to test to see if it works) to issue a patch for such a small problem.
    The server would just check if the Oracle XA driver was being used and
    no matter what version would just throw an exception if you try to set
    the transaction isolation level saying that the feature in the Oracle
    8.1.7 driver was broken... (although you might be using 9.x or even a
    pre-8.1.7 driver)...
    So this is about it.
    And Slava, I've tried pushing a case harder only to end up with BEA
    support trying to convince me that I was misinterpreting the JDBC spec
    when it was not true, so I just gave up. The main goal of BEA support in
    all of our experience has been that they don't try to solve the cases
    but close them.
    That's my and some of my colleagues personal views anyway, you don't
    have to share them.

    Hi Deyan,
    Sorry for the delay. Could you give us more details about CR090104?
    I've got some feedback in XA area, not sure if it was a related case.
    Also, I've never had any problems with weblogic CCE, so you may want
    to push your case a little harder.
    As per the bold statement - the initial question was about functionality
    available in weblogic but not available in websphere - it can't be more
    bold :)

    This is a very bold statement Slava, considering that with Oracle XA
    driver you cannot even set the transaction isolation level because of a
    Weblogic bug (CR090104 that has been open for more than 6 months
    already)...

    My guess here is that it's a signal that this is a last chance
    for you to abandon WebSphere and return back to WebLogic's
    safe harbor.

  • Setting transaction isolation level in Weblogic 5.1

              Hi,
              I'm using Weblogic server5.1 and i'm trying to set the isolation level on one
              of my session bean. Below is the code :
              <weblogic-ejb-jar>
              <weblogic-enterprise-bean>
              <ejb-name>chargeMgr</ejb-name>
              <jndi-name>chargeMgr</jndi-name>
              <transaction-isolation>
              <isolation-level>Serializable</isolation-level>
              <method>
              <ejb-name>chargeMgr</ejb-name>
              <method-intf>Remote</method-intf>
              <method-name>*</method-name>
              </method>
              </transaction-isolation>
              </weblogic-enterprise-bean>
              </weblogic-ejb-jar>
              I have checked the syntax against the weblogic documentation.
              However, when i try to jar the beans up into the jar file (weblogic.ejbc), it
              give me the following error :
              org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: Element "weblogic-enterprise-bean" allows no further
              input; "transaction-isolation" is not allowed.
              Can anyone help?
              Regards.

    yes, only in weblogic-ejb-jar.xml , and you can see that from the DTD
              source.
              thanks

  • Setting transaction isolation level in a session bean

    Hi all!
    In a stateless session bean (EJB3) with container managed transactions I need to set the transaction isolation level to SERIALIZABLE.
    The idea is to prevent lost update on database when multiple accesses occur concurrently.
    Thanks in advance for your patience,
