Setting up email addresses in a text field.

Hi.
Can anyone help me.
I am using Adobe Designer 7.0 and would like to know if there is a way of linking a email address in a text field box to a submit email button.
As far as I can tell you can only put one email address in the object field and thats it.
What i am trying to do is let people select a email address from a drop down list and then click the submit email button and it would use the address from the drop down list.
Thanks
Mike.

I set up a form with a hidden "Email submit button" with a default email address.
I placed another visible button on the page and put in the "click" event the following javascript:
> EmailSubmitButton1.resolveNode("#event").submit.target = "mailto:[email protected]";
> EmailSubmitButton1.execEvent("click");
change the "mailto:[email protected]" to whatever you want, as long as it has "mailto:" in front of it, or else it defaults to a HTTP submit.
For example, if you want to set the email address to a value from a drop down list:
> var emailAddress = "mailto:" + DropDownList1.rawValue;
When the user clicks on the visible button, it's sets the email address on the hidden email button and causes a click event on the button - bingo - email sent to a custom email address.

  • Is it possible to create a cc'd email address from a text field that connects to a submit button?

I was told I should submit this question to the scripting forum... I am wondering if this is at all possible in Acrobat, because so far I have not been able to do it, but a client would like us to:
I have a "Submit Request" button that includes the email addresses of desired recipients of a PDF form. But the client also wants the person who is filling out the form to be cc'd in the email that is sent to other recipients. So in the field where the person enters their email address on the form, is it possible to somehow have that email address show up in the cc'd section of the email that is sent when the person hits the "Submit Request" at the bottom of the form?
As far as I can see, the only way to get the form emailed to anyone is to list pre-chosen email addresses in the actions section of the submit button. This is why I haven't been able to figure out how to get a randomly entered email address in a text field to also be cc'd.
Hope this makes sense and any help is much appreciated.
    Thank you!

Nevermind, I just did a little research and found the answer:
in Acrobat Pro v9 go to the menu and select Advanced > Extend Features in Adobe Reader...
In Acrobat Standard v9 go to the menu and select Advanced > Extend Forms Fill-in & Save in Adobe Reader...
You can now save the form with your data.
Thanks again for your help with the script, our form is now working exactly the way we wanted it to!

Just to recap, this is a collection of ports I have collected over time for people who needed this information when setting up the HP ePrint app so that they could view their email from within the app.  I am certain other applications also need this information.  Although lengthy, I could not find a more comprehensive place to retrieve this information.  Feel free to post additional information, faulty information, or other related topics below as this is simply a collection of data and it would be practically impossible to test all of them. Thank you!

  • How do I set up email addresses from my address book?

How do I set up email addresses from my address book?

I'm not sure exactly what you are asking.  If you are coming from pre-Mountain Lion, then Address Book has changed to Contacts.
    Open Contacts.
Select an Account in the group list, if you want the contact in a specific group. If Groups aren't showing, you can display them from the View menu.
Click the Add card button ( + ).
Enter the information for the contact.
If you need multiple entries for a particular field type, a new blank entry will show up below the one you are adding.
If you need other fields, use the Card menu to Add a new field type.
If you want to change the default fields available when you create a new card, choose Edit Template…
If you have sent emails to someone and you want to get that address to add to a Contact, use the Previous Recipients command in the View menu in Mail.
If you need to add a new Group, hover the cursor over the account name, and a + button will appear. Click it.

Hi i use iphone 4 with iso 6.1.3!! Am not getting an option to register my phone number in imsg!! Am just getting an option to set my email address for sending and receiving the imsgs!! How do i register my phone number??

    Hello Nikkii,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information on this, take a look at:
iOS: Troubleshooting FaceTime and iMessage activation
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts4268
    Troubleshooting telephone-number activation (iPhone only)
After each step, toggle FaceTime and iMessage off and then on in Settings > Messages and Settings > FaceTime.
Update to the latest version of iOS.
Ensure that your iPhone is set to the correct time zone. Tap Settings > General > Date & Time.
Note: If Set Automatically is on but the incorrect time zone is displayed, turn Set Automatically off and then choose the correct time zone, date, and time. Then turn Set Automatically on again.
Ensure that FaceTime has not been restricted: Settings > General > Restrictions > FaceTime.
Verify that you can send SMS messages. You need a valid SMS messaging plan to activate FaceTime.
Contact your carrier to verify that there are no restrictions or blocks on text messages. Blocks on text messaging will prevent iMessage and FaceTime registration.
If you are unable to activate iMessage or FaceTime on a device after remote wiping it, wait at least 24 hours and try again.
If "Waiting for Activation" is displayed, leave FaceTime and iMessage enabled for 24 hours. Toggling FaceTime or iMessage off and on will cause the registration process to start over.
    Best of luck,
    Mario

  • How to set the Background Color of a Text Field in a Tabular Report.

    Hello,
I tried to set the Background Color of a Text Field in a Tabular Report.
But I was not able to change this colur.
In the report attributes --> column attributes
    I tried already:
    1. Column Formating -- >CSS Style (bgcolor: red)
    2. Tabular Form Element --> Element Attributes (bgcolor: red)
    but nothing worked.
    Can anybody help me?
    I Use Oracle Apex 2.2.1 on 10gR2
    thank you in advance.
    Oliver

in "Report Attributes" select the column to move to the "Column Attributes" page. In the "Element Attributes" field under the "Tabular Form Element" region enter
    style="background-color:red;"
I will also check if there is a way to do this via the template and post here again
    edit:
in your template definition, above the template, enter the following:
    < STYLE TYPE="text/css" >
    .class INPUT {background-color:red;}
    < /STYLE >
(remove the spaces after the < and before the >)
change "class" to the class that the template is calling
(I'm using theme 9, the table has: class="t9GCCReportsStyle1" so I would enter t9GCCReportsStyle1)
A side-effect of using this second version is that ALL input types will have a red background color--checkboxes, input boxes, etc.

  • Setting Default Email address in Mail client

    All,
With using .Mac accounting, I could only use [email protected] for sending email. However, what/how could I do if I want to set my email address to another one?
    Thanks,
    Kenny

    Hi Kenny!
Do you only see one account there? Only the .mac one? Hmmm...what about if you click on your Accounts tab? How many accounts are there in the left window pane? And assuming you have two accounts there if you click on the account and then click on the Advanced tab in the main portion of the window is the box selected that says enable this account?
What I'm getting at is if you have two accounts that are enabled you should be able to select which one you want to send your mail from. The only thing I can think of that makes sense is if this other account is not enabled?
    Let me know...Reg

  • Trying to set an email address

I am using Oracle 9i and SQL*Plus on Windows XP.
I am trying to set an email address in my object table using an object method.
    I have the following types:
CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE student_type AS OBJECT
    (FirstName varchar2(15),
    LastName varchar2(15),
    Address address_type,
    Contact contact_type,
    DateOfBirth date,
    Nationality varchar2(15),
    AttendanceMode varchar2(15),
    StudentNo varchar2(15),
    Userid varchar(15),
    FeeStatus varchar2(25))
    create type contact_type as object
    (home_tel_no number(14),
    mobile number(14),
    email varchar2(25))
and have created a method to set an email address:
MEMBER FUNCTION setEmail (self IN OUT student_type, em varchar2) RETURN number,
    PRAGMA RESTRICT_REFERENCES (setEmail, WNPS, RNPS)
along with all of the other necessary code which works OK.
I have implemented it with the following code but am not sure if it is correct:
MEMBER FUNCTION setEmail (SELF IN OUT student_type, em varchar2) RETURN NUMBER IS
    BEGIN
    SELF.CONTACT.EMAIL := em;
    RETURN 1;
    END;
but when I try to run it, i get the following error:
    SQL> SELECT S.SETEMAIL('[email protected]') FROM STUDENT_TABLE S WHERE FIRSTNAME = 'Sammy';
SELECT S.SETEMAIL('[email protected]') FROM STUDENT_TABLE S WHERE FIRSTNAME = 'Sammy'
    ERROR at line 1:
ORA-06572: Function SETEMAIL has out arguments
Any help with this would be great.
    James

    SELECT S.SETEMAIL('[email protected]') FROM
    STUDENT_TABLE S WHERE FIRSTNAME = 'Sammy'
ERROR at line 1:ORA-06572: Function SETEMAIL has out arguments
er...that'll be because your member function has an OUT parameter, self:
MEMBER FUNCTION setEmail (self IN OUT student_type, em varchar2) RETURN number,(1) You need to reference all parameters in the function, so you need two arguments in your call - but...
    (2) we cannot use methods with OUT parameters in SELECT statements, because that's the law.
Do you need to pass SELF into your method? If so you'll have to use PL/SQL to do this instead.
Looking at your code again, I see you are actually using a SELECT statement to alter the data iin the database. This is not allowed at all. SELECT statements are, must be, read only.
    Cheers, APC

  • How to set default email address for input

    G'day all
Summary: I'm sick, it's difficult to type, and a combination of autocorrect, default Shift key settings for input fields and my iPad completely ignoring my default email account is making it laborious to input my email address. Help!
(Edit: I had a micro-brainwave and checked my "Me" card in Contacts, since I have Safari set to autofill from that card. My default email address is not listed first in the card. I've now put it on top, Gmail second and "me.com" last. I'll comment later on if I see this help with point 3 below.)
    Details:
I love my shiny new iPad2. I really do. But autocorrect is driving me crrrrrazy when I try to input my email address.
Typing in general is an issue for me, because I am disabled and have difficulties with coordination and movement. On my laptop (MacBook Pro mid 2009), I used TextExpander. It lets you set an abbreviation for any text, so you can just type that abbreviation instead of the whole thing, and TextExpander automagically inputs the whole thing for you.
I have a long email address, because my ISP has quite a long domain name. So only typing 4 characters (my abbreviation) instead of the whole 23 characters was a big help for me.
    Enter the iPad.
I need to use the iPad now, because my laptop is now too heavy for my legs (and I do occasionally need a full-on laptop, so the MacBook Air isn't the solution). The iPad in general has been great for me. The simplification of the interface (while annoying at times, e.g. not being able to view full headers in an email) saves brain cycles, so I can read for longer.
However, where on my laptop I only needed to input 4 chars for my email address, on my iPad I have to input the whole 23 chars. How many places online are you asked to input your email address? Way too many. Safari may eventually catch up and record some of them, but currrently, I'm using too much of my day's energy just on trying to input my email address. (Note: this post is written on my laptop, so I can use my abbreviations.)
TextExpander is available for iOS, but due to Apple's current refusal to allow integration with its apps, TextExpander isn't allowed to input stuff directly. Just like with the indispensable password program 1Password, you have to switch from Safari to the other app., search for and select and copy the text you want, then switch back to Safari, select the field and press Paste.
    Grrr.
I may get desperate enough to go through those steps each time, if things don't improve with my email address. My problems are:
    1. Very few email-address fields in webpages currently have the appropriate settings to instruct the iPad keyboard not to start with the Shift key down. This means every time you try to input your email address, it will start with an upper-case letter.
Half the time I don't notice until I've got part-way through typing my address, so I have to delete all those chars and start again. About a quarter of the time, after deleting, I don't notice that the Shift key has been activated again, so I go through the whole process again.
    2. Even when the email-address field turns off the Shift key, or when I remember to do it myself before entering text, autocorrect will insist on changing the first letter back to upper-case, because my username is also my first name. Cue more deleting and getting confused.
    3. This is the big one: once my username is up there, autocorrect insists on entering my "me.com" email address. This is the email address I use least. When I laboriously (again) delete this text and start again, it will either insist again on "me.com", or input my Gmail address. That is the email address I use second least. Autocorrect never inputs my main email address, set as my default account in the Mail-Con-Cal Settings. (This is a POP-only account.)
    4. Even if I do manage to input my whole email address correctly, autocorrect will insist on capitalizing the first letter of the domain name (which is also a location). Cue yet more deletion and retyping.
Are there any ways to avoid wasting so much energy on trying to input my email address?
Is there any way to set the default input email address? Or to tell the iPad/Safari that an email address field doesn't require the Shift key?
I've had my iPad for nearly three months now, using it for my day-to-day activities, and I've been hoping this problem would gradually go away, that the software would finally catch on to my main email address (from the default account) which I have input over and over (and OVER) into email-address fields.
    Evidently not.
    Any ideas?
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

As Roosevelt suggested, you can turn off Auto Correction in the keyboard settings. Go to Settings>General>Keyboard>Auto Correction>Off.
This will also turn off spell check (unfortunately) and there is no fix for that. Auto Caps can also be turned off as well and so can the keyboard shortcut for the space/period. Frankly, all of these features drive me nuts and I wish the iOS allowed for more control, but it does not.
As fars as typing your email address, be aware that even if you type your email address in all caps it still works. So if Autofill insists on capitalizing the first letter in your name in the email address - and it will insist on doing so - you can just let it go as is and it will still work. Doesn't really get to the heart of the matter but it would save you the laborious deleting and retyping.
Having said that, when the Auto Correction suggests a word or wants to set a capital latter, you can tap the "x" in the pop up suggestion to ignore that word, cap, whatever. The dictionary is then supposed to "learn" your word if you refuse that suggested word enough times. This is another feature that seems to have a mind of it's own at times since sometimes it may take more than a few attempts to get the Auto Correct to not come up and instead allow your chosen word to be freely typed as desired.
Lastly, with regard to your correct email address popping up, that is another case of if repeated time and time again, It should be another case of the iOS "learning" through repetition that your default email should popup when you begin entering the address.
You could try to rectify all of this by resetting all of your settings and clearing Autofill but you would be starting all over again which is something I think you would rather avoid.
    Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
    Settings>General>Reset>Reset Keyboard Dictionary
Settings>Safari>Autofill -tap names and passwords>Clear all
As Roosevelt suggested, submit feedback, and I hope you find some resolution to this.
Quick Note - I originally typed this post on my iPad and when I read a few of the words that were substituted by auto correct - I quickly turned to my iMac to change the words. I do feel your pain with regard to auto Correct!

  • Importing email addresses from a text file

I have a db on one of my websites that I maintain for my client. I can download that db as an Excel file. This db has many fields.
Once I download that Excel file I open and sort it for just the email addresses I want. Then I copy and paste those email addresses in plain RTF text file. So, now I have a long list of email addresses. I then have to put a comma after each one and then saved that file.
    Here's my question"
What I want to do next is import that RTF list into Mail (somehow) as a group so I can send out a couple of hundred emails at a time to my customers in the Bcc box. And if I understand it correctly, since all those addresses are in the Bcc box those who receive those emails will only see their email address in the To: box.
So how can I do this? How can I take this RTF file bring it into Mail and get this done.
    First time on this forum.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Martin
I have been seeking answers on this forum for a problem you will encounter (but may not have yet). Firstly, you will want to import your DB files into AdressBook, not Mail. IN AddressBook you sort your contacts into groups for email or whatever. The Mail Program then uses that data to fill in its fields.
The problem I have been having is that AddressBook seems like it should import, indeed looks like it should do it very simply, but ..... simply doesn't do it when you click the "OK" button.... as you might expect. I have not found the answer here yet, but suspect that its an OS development snafu and must needs be done another way. Some replies seem to suggest a solution at Versiontracker. com
    Good luck

after starting Set up e-mail , have u been asked to select the connection
if so u can select the connection type which is configured in u r phone given by the network operator.
and then proceed as instructed by the phone menu.
if not you may get the settings from the network operator and configure u r phone accordingly and again try,
