Setting up Push/Microsoft Exchange. Typing in password spam - help!

Hi,
Just set up my 3GS to my companies Microsoft Exchange, and it works like a charm.
Only problem is: I got a rather long and tricky password, and every time I lock the phone and later want to unlock it, it asks for the password!! Isen't there some way to solve this, since it's kindda annoying to spend 2 minutes typing in the password when I want to use the phone!!!
- I bet there is a solution to this, because this is stupid!!

Those requirements are set by your firm's IT dept. You can't change anything, only they can. Talk to your IT dept. or system administrator.

OS Lion Mail: Microsoft Exchange Server Rejects Password

Hello,
I just upgraded to Lion and was attempting to set up all of my email accounts into Mail. My Yahoo, AOL, and Gmail accounts all worked fine, but my Microsoft Exchange account did not. When I set it up through Settings originally, everything seemed fine and it had no problem verifying the account. However, when I try to retrieve mail from the Exchange account within Mail, it gives me an error saying that the server rejected the password and then prompts me to enter the password again. I enter the correct password, and the same window pops up over and over again. Has anyone found a fix to this problem?

Same Problem here since days and nobody at Apple is picking it up, even though a lot of people experiencing the same issues.
I Tried deleting all accounts (GMX, Exchange) from Mail 5.0 and create a new one (only Exchange) here: "System Pref". -> "Mail, Contacs & Calendars". Account creation worked, but Mail keeps asking me for the password telling me the server rejected the pw, which is correct (as it worked with the account creation).
To be honest I'm a little disappointed, having switched from PC to Mac earlier this year and never ran into problems with a PC that took me longer than a day to fix (especially on productive systems!), i start to regret buying a mac...

TS5223 Updated to iOS8. I don't remember the password for my old Apple ID or the password for that e-mail. I can't delete the iCloud account without knowing it, although my iTunes and everything else is set to the new Apple ID and password. Help?!

I keep getting pop-ups telling me to sign in to my iCloud and it's very annoying. I have no idea what the old password was, and I don't really have a way of changing the old password because I also don't know my password for the e-mail address connected to it (it kept telling me that the answers to my security questions were wrong, but I'm not sure what other answers they would have been). Therefore, I created an entirely new e-mail and a new Apple ID and everything else is set to that ID... except iCloud. Is there any way to correct this, or am I out of luck?

If your device is signed into an old iCloud ID, and if it is an earlier version of your current ID*, do the following:
Make sure you are signed into iMessage and FaceTime with your current ID. If they are signed into the old ID, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and Settings>FaceTime, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with your current ID.
Then temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. (You should not have to verify the old email account so it doesn’t matter if you no longer have access to it.) Now go to Settings>iCloud, turn off Find My iDevice and enter your current password when prompted (even though it prompts you for the password for your old ID). Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out (or Delete Account if you are not running iOS 8) and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign back in with your current iCloud ID and password (your data will download back to your device).
* If that's not the case, you'll have to contact the Apple account security team and ask for assistance resetting the password for the old ID: Apple ID: Contacting Apple for help with Apple ID account security. You'll have to be able to prove your identity to them before they will do this.

Frozen after typing (correct) password. HELP!

Any ideas before I do a hard reset?
As of last night, my Blackberry isn't fully unlocking after I type my password. I type the correct password and hit enter, the password entry section turns dark (or it will stay on the "Enter Password screen" and appear to freeze). (If I type the wrong password it simply prompts me again, so i know I am typing the correct password). This is after multiple battery pulls.
Sometimes after typing the correct password, I can hold down the blackberry button and it will bring up the box that lets me switch to BBM, the browser, the Home Screen, etc and I can "switch" to that program, but there is a sort of frozen shadow of the Enter Password box over what ever app I switch to and I can't use the trackball or keyboard in those apps.
This "frozen box' is preventing me from using any application on my BB!
I CAN receive calls. Barely. I can only make calls if I pull battery and DON'T unlock the phone and go to the Place Call option.
I upgraded to OS 5 over a week ago and things were fine until last night. I can hear my BB when it receives messages (the tones work) or txt etc but can't read anything due to the lock up!!
The only suspect is Google Talk which I installed two days ago and seemed to be hogging resources and draining the battery, however the phone worked fine for about a day with it on. Perhaps Google Talk is launching at startup and hanging things up? I doubt it but this is full disclosure.
I have also, pulled battery and removed the micro-sd card to see if that had any affect -- alas to no avail.
One analogy I can think of is it as if the Windows Explorer is hung but everything else is working.

Try this:
1) Make sure you have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed.

2) On your PC, go to Start > Run and copy and paste the following line exactly (meaning with the quotation marks):
"c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader\loader.exe" /nojvm
3) The Application Loader Wizard will appear -- click "Next."
4) In the "Connection:" drop-down menu, you should see "USB-PIN: UNKNOWN". Click the "Next" button.
5) You should then see a list of applications ready to be installed for your Blackberry. Try UNclicking on the Google Talk app and remove it from the device and let's see if that is the issue.
NOTE: If you do not see a list of applications mentioned in step 5 and instead see the message "The Blackberry Desktop Software does not have Blackberry Device Software for the device that you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator," then you must download Blackberry's Operating System for your carrier and device.

Can't get Craigslist pro to send me notifications on my searches, tried the basics with location services...tried setting up alerts as opposed to banner...no luck...tried setting up push rather than fetches, no luck please help

Lets run down a list of possibilities:
1) You are using iTunes 6 here, correct?
2) You did not say whether or not you are running in auto-sync, manual management, or "Enable Disk" mode. If you left it in the default mode as installed (auto-sync), then after dropping your movies into iTunes (or adding them to the Library), simply connect your iPod and allow it to auto-sync (mirror) the current contents of iTunes. (You can also try "Update iPod" option under the File menu, but I have found it unreliable -- possibly owing to "sleeping" iPod.)
3) Not sure if your reference to "dropping the movie on the iPod" is a reference to the iPod desk icon in manua/disk enabled mode or the iPod "Source" reference/associaed contents list in iTunes. Could you clarify where you are attempting to "drag 'n drop" and/or the selected sync mode of operation in your iPod Preferences.
4) As to conversion to iPod compatible formats, recommend you stick with MoviesForMyPod and/or iSquint if you are restricted to QT Pro 6 and not sure what settings to use for MPEG4 preset collection/QuickTime Movie full manual mode.

Trouble setting up microsoft exchange with comcast e-mail...

I have tried several times to set up a Microsoft Exchange on my iPhone4, even called Comcast and obtained the Domain &Mail Server names, as well as other info not asked for in set up. Each time I'm told that the phone was "unable to verify". Can someone please help?

Hi, I just got an iPhone4 (at last) and had the same problem - I couldnt not set up my Hotmail account as my default e-mail on the phone. I tried setting it up several times through the Microsoft Exchange option with no luck for the reason detailed by other posters. I set up my gmail account as the default and lived with it for a few days and then having re-read the posts on here in more depth I managed to fix it. I deleted my gmal account from the phone, selected 'other accounts' from the menu, typed in my hotmail details and Bingo! All fixed and functional and so easy to do that even this technophobe managed it.

Tried everything to set up a microsoft exchange email account and the mail setup wizard tells me to go to the microsoft online website to log in instead.
Has anyone had any luck setting it up through the mail application?

Was it a hotmail or outlook . com account you were trying to setup ? Both of those accounts can only use pop without a third party program.

IPad won't let me set up Microsoft Exchange for Gmail

My new iPad 3 won't let me set up a Microsoft Exchange acct for Gmail. In Settings / Mail, Contacts, Calendars / Add Account / Microsoft Exchange I add all of the info, hit next and nothing happens - it just takes me back to the same screen with Next grayed out. I followed the same steps on my iPod Touch and had no problems. Any help would be appreciated.

Quit the settings app and restart the iPad - then try again.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
If the email account is appearing on the iPad - delete it and then try adding it back on.

Microsoft Exchange, crashes and battery drain

I have had a persistent problem with two iPhones, one that has taken me months to identify. At first, I thought my 1st gen iPhone was the problem - I suspected bad memory. But when the problem repeated itself on a new iPhone 3GS that I bought, I knew the cause was something different.
I have reset my new iPhone about 25 times to factory settings. I have tested apps one at a time. I tried re-installing each of my apps in iTunes on my Mac, restarting each time to make sure the old version was purged. I have made countless trips to the Genius Bar. Slowly, I tracked the problems down to the Microsoft Exchange email account I must use.
Symptoms: frequent app and OS crashes. Rapidly draining battery, often in an hour from full charge. When plugged in to iTunes, it spontaneously syncs repeatedly and rapidly. The crash log is impossible to trace as a result. This usually happens about a week or so after rebuilding and resetting my iPhone. Often, I noted that when looking at my email, that I see the spinning circle of death.
The first thing I did was to stop pushing email, and setting email to manual fetch. That seems to have minimized my problem. But to my dismay, it still returns.
I am beginning to wonder if the idiots at my corporation's ISP (we use Exchange Server 2003) have not set things up correctly on their server, and that it is corrupting my iPhone OS. If anyone has ideas on this, please do share them with me. I am very tired of losing all my data again and again, and wasting time resetting my phone. I cannot tell you how careful I have been, how much I have tried to solve this problem, and the hours of time wasted in doing so. I think the iPhone is a wonderful device. But I am tired of having to be plugged into anything Microsoft.

I solved my problem! After three frustrating months of crashes, rapid battery drains (often less than an hour from full charge) and after upgrading from an iPhone 2G to a 3GS (in which the problems persisted), I finally found the source of my nightmare: my company's Microsoft Exchange Server (Exchange 2003).
It was a problem that vexed even the brightest minds at Genius Bars at four different local Apple Stores. At first, we thought the issue could be a memory addressing error on my original iPhone 2G. But when I moved up to an iPhone 3GS and the problems continued, I realized this was not the problem. I then tediously factory re-set my iPhone each time, and installed one app at a time to isolate and test the problem. (I have 90 apps. Go figure.) I ran in basic factory mode for two weeks, and only then did my iPhone work correctly. Then, not adding any apps, I set up my Microsoft Exchange account for the umpteenth time. Shortly afterward, all **** broke loose, with the iPhone crashing in rapid succession and the battery draining. Also, when attempting to sync with iTunes, the sync would stop, arbitrarily re-start, and re-start again. And again. And again. In the process, any data on my iPhone would get hosed.
Once I discovered the source of the problem, I conferred with my company's IT guy, who in turn groveled to my company's ISP, which hosts the Exchange Server. In a few minutes (and probably a couple of clicks back at the ISP), my problem went away as suddenly as it began.
So, if you use Microsoft Exchange with your iPhone, and out of the blue, your iPhone goes bonkers, talk to your company's IT guy immediately. I hope this will help you!
I'll try to get specifics of the setting changes made by my ISP to fix this nightmare.

Why can't I get a connection to my Microsoft Exchange network on my iPad2?

I had no problems setting up my Microsoft Exchange email when I first got my iPad2. I was switched to a newer version called WebMail App, and now I can no longer connect to the network. I have removed and added the email, but still have had no success.

Is your new Webmail App provided by you internet provider (ISP)? If it is, you should call them and they should be able to help you get access.

Syncing ACT contacts while on automatic wireless syncing with Microsoft Exchange Server?

Does anyone know if this is possible? At the moment, my company is automatically performing a wireless sync between Outlook contacts and their Blackberry Curve 8330 devices. However, employees that travel also need their ACT contacts on their phone. I've researched CompanionLink and know that I can get the ACT contacts directly onto the Blackberry that way, but, the problem arises where the ACT contacts will end up syncing back to the Exchange server -- which we don't want. We want to keep the automatic syncing with Outlook, but periodically we want to do a one-way ACT transfer onto our Blackberries, without having those extra (approximately 5,000) contacts go back into Outlook. Is there an easy way to categorize/separate Outlook and ACT? Any ideas or workarounds?

I'm looking at the Internode setup guides and it looks as though you have a POP server. In that case, if you want to sync directly to the server, you would want to set it up for POP/SMTP rather than for Microsoft Exchange Server. Does that help?
If you do not want to sync over the air and instead want to sync only by USB/Bluetooth to your PC, I think that works quite differently. I don't have any experience with that.

Question about using calendar with Microsoft Exchange

I just recently bought the iPhone5. I used to have a Droid so I am new to the iPhone altogether. I have a 3rd generation iPad as well. I've always used my google calendar on my droid to set up appointments and whatnot on my calendar and I send the invites to my husband so we can sync our calendars. He would then accept or decline and I would get an email notification saying when he did so. Now that I am using the iPad and iPhone calendar, I am super confused. There are so many color coded calendars. I set up the Microsoft Exchange account on both mine and my husbands phone and I set the default calendar to the Gmail Exchange calendar as someone told me to do. I'm very confused by what this is all about and my husband still isn't getting the invitations when I send it to his gmail. However, when I sent it to his aol email address, he did receive an invite but on my calendar it is still showing as "no response". Also, now we are getting emails in 2 different gmail inboxes, one for the exchange and one for just gmail. What's the difference? Can anyone shed some light on this for me? I'm such a newbie and googling isn't helping!

Why to jump from one track to another?
Simply create a folder with all the Channel strip settings and assign two key commands of your choice to navigate forward and backward.
And yes, you can assign that command to a MIDI controller (or pedal) too.

Before to buy a preamp try using the Hi-Z input from your Edirol.
Anyway, six tracks with six plugins on each track are not an issue for your macbook.

I have tried to set up my Microsoft Exchange account on my iMac several times but I den never get it to work. In addition i have two Exchange calendars which I cannot remove no matter what I do...

I use the ”add account” from the system panel. It seems my iMac is not able to communicate with the Exchange server. It works fine on my iPad and iPhone.
I solved the problem with the Exchange calendar that I was not able to remove. I had to add an Exchange account with the same user name as the calendar and then I could delete it from the account settings.

IMAP to Microsoft Exchange 2007 ignores vcalendar attachments

I have successfully added an email account on my Pre to read email over IMAP (ssl) to my work's M$ Exchange 2007 server. The problem is that the Pre's email client
completely ignores the calendar event attachments. In the inbox list view, the email doesn't even show an attachment paperclip icon, even though I know the email has the attachment. I can view the email
from Thunderbird and see the attachment, but the Pre ignores it completely. It should read it and add it to my calendar.
I don't have the ability to do EAS to the server as it's behind the corporate firewall, which is impossible to change.
