Setting width for UITableViewCell in a grouped TableView like in Facebook?

Does anyone have any ideas on how Facebook sets the width for UITableViewCells?
If you look, they're not always the full width of the screen, but sometimes have an avatar image to the left or right.

They're probably not changing the width of the cell, just moving the items inside each cell.

Fixing a set width for horizontal menu bar

I'm using the Spry horizontal menu bar at the top of my page and want to put it as a set width that doesn't zoom or shrink in size when someone uses this function on their screen. At the moment, when zooming, the menu wraps to the next line. How can I stop this? Does anyone know how to do this please?

You can set the width of the menuitems as a percentage, you can also set a minimum width for the menubar container (UL).

Set the length property.
But in case the length of the values are less(and there are more columns to display), OA framework would automatically decrease the width of this column to make space for other columns.

Set filter for only one column in tableview

Hi
i am using in MVC a htmlb:tableview with filter in only one column of 8.
This is all working fine, except that the user can enter a searchsting in the filterfield for all columns, but in handle_event (of the controller) ; i only react to a text in the filterfield of column 4 and ignore all other filtertext , which were maybe entered in the other columns.
My question:
how can i enter the filter only for one column, in a way that the user cannot enter any text in the filterfield of the other columns, only in column 4 ?
my view:

You can disbale the Filter for the particular column by setting the DISABLE_FILTER in the Iterator method IF_HTMLB_TABLEVIEW_ITERATOR~GET_COLUMN_DEFINITIONS. Here is the sample code

Setting width for af:column

I am using af:table. I want the column width to be fixed. If the data is less than the width, I don't want the width to change. When data is longer it should wrap.
But if I give noWrap=false, the width is not fixed - it changes according to data.
Is there any way to solve this problem?

Password security - set permissions for different users

I am using Abobe Acrobat 9 Pro.
In the HELP menu, there is a security section in the contents, In the overview, it states the following:
"Each security method offers a different set of benefits. However, they all allow you to specify encryption algorithms, select the document components to encrypt, and set permissions for different users."
I would like to know how you can set permissions for different users using Password Security.
I am the only one in the company who has Acrobat 9 Pro and all others have Adobe Reader 8.
I have created a PDF file in Acrobat 9, this file is accessible to anyone with Abobe Reader. I would like to set different permissions for different users. For example, i would like certain individuals to print the document and other individuals to not be allowed to print. Can this be acheived using Password Security?

Set the table's width for TableView

I am creating a new TableView with few columns and I am trying to set the width for the entire table. I searched the API but it only gives me setMaxWidth. I tried but, it didn't work. Can anyone suggest me how to set the tables width.
I am doing this:
private TableView<XYZ> table = new TableView<XYZ>();
table.setMaxWidth(600);
table.setLayoutX(15);
table.resize(40, 40);
But nothing really changed the entire table's width.

How to set a fixed width for a box

Hi there,
Struggling here.... must admit.
I need a solution whereby I can set a fixed width for a box that is grouping two buttons. I suppose generally, I want to know how to set a fixed width for anything element.
See the picture below. I want the two buttons to stay the same distance apart, and I want the grouped buttons to stay the same distance from the right edge of the window, even as a user resizes the window.
This is what happens when you reduce the size of the window .....
I would like to stop this from happening.
I can't figure out how accomplish keeping the parent div a fixed width, and a fixed position from the right side of the window, so the buttons won't overlap.
Perhaps I'm doing the whole thing wrong.
I mean, is there a way to accomplish this without grouping the buttons? That is, make the buttons fixed width, fixed distance apart from each other, and fixed distance from the right side of the window, even as the user resizes the page?
I am trying to accomplish this using the Min/Max width settings, but given that there are so many different units to choose from, and the fact that when I place a button or box on the screen, it seems to be creating that button or box with a percentage-based width, I don't know how many pixels to set it to.... sigh....

Okay after much futzing I figured out at least part of the solution I need, but if someone knows of a more efficent way to do this please let me know.
I set a fixed minimum width in pixels for both of the buttons at 156px.
I then made the left button float left and the right button float right.
I then made the parent div for the buttons float right.
That made the buttons stay the same size.
The only thing I need to figure out how to do now is make the parent div stay a consistent distance in pixels from the right. I tried setting a right margin but that didn't work. As you size the window down, the div gets closer to the edge, until it passes it.

What I'd like to do is to control the initial column widths for a table.
I'm building the table by using a class which extends AbstractTableModel. This class takes care of setting the headers and reading the data for the table.
If I do the following:
VarTableModel vtm = new VarTableModel(vi);
JTable jt = new JTable(vtm);
JScrollPane jsp = new JScrollPane(jt);
frame.getContentPane().add(jsp);
frame.setVisible(true);
I will see a table in my window. The widths of the columns are equal and are a function of the horizontal dimension of the window.
I have tried to set the width of a column by doing the following:
TableColumn aColumn;
aColumn = jt.getColumn(vtm.getColumnName(0));
aColumn.setWidth(40);
But this has no effect on what gets displayed. I can force the widths that I want by using 'setMaxWidth' but this has the unfortunate side effect of not allowing the user to make the column wider if they want.
What I'd like is a way to specify the widths of the columns when initially displayed and then let the user adjust to their liking.
I'm sure that there is a way to do this, but I don't seem to understand where to intervene in the process to produce the effect that I want.
Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Select the column headers and drag across (A,B,C for example) then select between one of the columns (your pointer will change shape). Select and drag to the new width. All selected columns will change.

Set member to totalize a group of set members for any measure

Hi there,
I am wandering is there is a way to get a set member that totalize a particular group of members. So for example:
For a Location dimension which only have Location attribute with the following members:
Location1
Location2
Location3
Location4
Location5
I would like to create a static set with only one member as MidTotal that will basically return the total for Location4+Location5 for any measure in the Cube.
Any advice or query will be very welcome.

According to your description, you want to create calculated members to aggregate the member Location4 and Location5, right?
In this case, you try the query below.
