Settings in SM37 ???
Hi...
In transaction SM37, for monitoring jobs, we can do some settings to restrict older jobs.
Ex. We give a run date from April 1 to April 08 and say if the restriction is for 3 days, we will not be able to see the jobs which were scheduled before April 05. However, the jobs would continue to run, for ex daily jobs etc..
its just that they can't be seen in SM37.
Now my problem is i need to find out this restriction days. How do i find this ????
Regards.
Hi,
it´s a setting from your basis, that the jobs will be canceled after maybe 1 month.
So, you need to take a look for your basis customizing to find out for which time-period it is set.

Message with IDOC number, created by LSMW, missing in job log in SM37
Hi gurus,
We have a temporary interface which uses LSMW to create IDOCs and update in SAP. It's used for materials, BOMs and document info records. In LSMW we have defined standard message types MATMAS_BAPI, BOMMAT and DOCUMENT_LOAD for the IDOCs. All these have the same problem.
A background job runs and starts LSMW. In the job log in SM37 I want to see which IDOCs were created. For some reason this is different in my development system and my test system, and as far as I know all settings should be the same. In the test system LSMW creates more message lines in the job log, than it does in the dev system. Message number E0-097 is "IDOC XXXX added", and this is missing in the dev system.
This is what it looks like in the dev system:
Data transfer started for object 'MATMAS' (project 'X', subobject 'Y') /SAPDMC/LSMW 501 I
Import program executed successfully /SAPDMC/LSMW 509 I
File 'XXX.lsmw.read' exists /SAPDMC/LSMW 502 I
Conversion program executed successfully /SAPDMC/LSMW 513 I
Data transfer terminated for object 'MATMAS' (project 'X', subproject 'Y') /SAPDMC/LSMW 516 I
And this is what it looks like in the test system. More information, which is exactly what I want in dev system too:
Data transfer started for object 'MATMAS' (project 'X', subobject 'Y') /SAPDMC/LSMW 501 I
Import program executed successfully /SAPDMC/LSMW 509 I
File 'XXX.lsmw.read' exists /SAPDMC/LSMW 502 I
Conversion program executed successfully /SAPDMC/LSMW 513 I
File 'XXX.lsmw.conv' exists /SAPDMC/LSMW 502 I
IDoc '0000000002489289' added E0 097 S
File 'XXX.lsmw.conv' transferred for IDoc generation /SAPDMC/LSMW 812 I
Data transfer terminated for object 'MATMAS' (project 'X', subproject 'Y') /SAPDMC/LSMW 516 I
In both cases the IDOC is created and update works fine.
My only issue is that I can't see the IDOC number in the dev system. I know I can get the IDOC number in WE02, but in this case we have program logic which reads the job log to be able to check IDOC status before sending OK message back to the other side of the interface.
I hope any of you can have an idea how I can update somewhere to get message E0-097 with IDOC number into the log.
Regards,
LisbethHi Arun,
If you want to show your messages in the job log you have to use the MESSAGE statement. In case you use WRITE statements an output list be created which can be found in the spool (there is an icon to go to the spool directly).

Error in Email via spool list recipient feature in SM37
Hello Experts.
I encounter a strange problem. I am not able to send Email to external Email addresses (Lotus Notes) while I am using Distribution list option in spool list recipient option in SM37 background job. I am getting an error in SOST called 'Message cannot be transferred to node SMTP due to connection error (final)'.
I am Able to get email with spool on my SAP inbox if I use the option 'Internal user' in spool recipient.
Also, if I send an email in a custom program via function 'SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1', I am successfully able to send the email to Lotus notes id using the same distribution list. So, I suppose all the basis settings in SCOT, SU01, SICF are correct.
I checked with my basis team as well but they also see all the email settings as correct.
My spool is very small one and I have all the access in the system.
Anyone having any idea for this issue, please share.
Regards,
DiwakarI found the answer myself.
In SCOT, SMTP setting, Output format for ABAP list needs to be set as 'PDF' or 'TXT' instead of 'HTM'.
With HTM, it was going in for error for spool email.

In LO Cockpit, Job contol job is cancelled in SM37
Dear All
I am facing one problem. Pl help me to resolve that issue.
When ever I am scheduling the delta job for 03 (Application Component), that is cancelled in SM37. Hence, I couldn't retrive those data from queued delta MCEX03 (smq1 or lbwq) to RSA7 because of job is cancelled. When I have seen that job log I got below Runtime Errors. Please hep me to resolve this issue
Runtime Errors MESSAGE_TYPE_X

"SAPLMCEX" or "LMCEXU02"
"MCEX_UPDATE_03"
If you cannot solve the problem yourself and want to send an error
notification to SAP, include the following information:
1. The description of the current problem (short dump)
To save the description, choose "System->List->Save->Local File
(Unconverted)".
2. Corresponding system log
Display the system log by calling transaction SM21.
Restrict the time interval to 10 minutes before and five minutes
after the short dump. Then choose "System->List->Save->Local File

Go to SBIW and follow the path
We can cross check using RSA3
Go Back to SAP BW and Create the Info package and run the Initial Load
Once the Initial delta is successful before running delta load we need to set up V3 Job in SAP R/3 using LBWE.
Once the Delta is activated in SAP R/3 we can start running Delta loads in SAP BW.
Direct Delta:- In case of Direct delta LUWs are directly posted to Delta Queue (RSA7) and we extract the LUWs from Delta Queue to SAP BW by running Delta Loads. If we use Direct Delta it degrades the OLTP system performance because when LUWs are directly posted to Delta Queue (RSA7) the application is kept waiting until all the enhancement code is executed.
Queued Delta: - In case of Queued Delta LUWs are posted to Extractor queue (LBWQ), by scheduling the V3 job we move the documents from Extractor queue (LBWQ) to Delta Queue (RSA7) and we extract the LUWs from Delta Queue to SAP BW by running Delta Loads. Queued Delta is recommended by SAP it maintain the Extractor Log which us to handle the LUWs, which are missed.
V3 -> Asynchronous Background Update Method Here by seeing name itself we can understand this. I.e. it is Asynchronous Update Method with background job.
Update Methods,
a.1: (Serialized) V3 Update
b. Direct Delta
c. Queued Delta
d. Un-serialized V3 Update
Note: Before PI Release 2002.1 the only update method available was V3 Update. As of PI 2002.1 three new update methods are available because the V3 update could lead to inconsistencies under certain circumstances. As of PI 2003.1 the old V3 update will not be supported anymore.
a. Update methods: (serialized) V3
Transaction data is collected in the R/3 update tables
Data in the update tables is transferred through a periodic update process to BW Delta queue
Delta loads from BW retrieve the data from this BW Delta queue
Transaction postings lead to:
1. Records in transaction tables and in update tables
2. A periodically scheduled job transfers these postings into the BW delta queue
3. This BW Delta queue is read when a delta load is executed.
Issues:
Even though it says serialized , Correct sequence of extraction data cannot be guaranteed
V2 Update errors can lead to V3 updates never to be processed
Update methods: direct delta
Each document posting is directly transferred into the BW delta queue
Each document posting with delta extraction leads to exactly one LUW in the respective BW delta queues
Transaction postings lead to:
1. Records in transaction tables and in update tables
2. A periodically scheduled job transfers these postings into the BW delta queue
3. This BW Delta queue is read when a delta load is executed.
Pros:
Extraction is independent of V2 update
Less monitoring overhead of update data or extraction queue
Cons:
Not suitable for environments with high number of document changes
Setup and delta initialization have to be executed successfully before document postings are resumed
V1 is more heavily burdened
Update methods: queued delta
Extraction data is collected for the affected application in an extraction queue
Collective run as usual for transferring data into the BW delta queue
Transaction postings lead to:
1. Records in transaction tables and in extraction queue
2. A periodically scheduled job transfers these postings into the BW delta queue
3. This BW Delta queue is read when a delta load is executed.
Pros:
Extraction is independent of V2 update
Suitable for environments with high number of document changes
Writing to extraction queue is within V1-update: this ensures correct serialization
Downtime is reduced to running the setup
Cons:
V1 is more heavily burdened compared to V3
Administrative overhead of extraction queue
Update methods: Un-serialized V3
Extraction data for written as before into the update tables with a V3 update module
V3 collective run transfers the data to BW Delta queue
In contrast to serialized V3, the data in the updating collective run is without regard to sequence from the update tables
Transaction postings lead to:
1. Records in transaction tables and in update tables
2. A periodically scheduled job transfers these postings into the BW delta queue
3.This BW Delta queue is read when a delta load is executed.
Issues:
Only suitable for data target design for which correct sequence of changes is not important e.g. Material Movements
V2 update has to be successful
Direct Delta: With this update mode, the extraction data is transferred with each document posting directly into the BW delta queue. In doing so, each document posting with delta extraction is posted for exactly one LUW in the respective BW delta queues.
Queued Delta: With this update mode, the extraction data is collected for the affected application instead of being collected in an extraction queue, and can be transferred as usual with the V3 update by means of an updating collective run into the BW delta queue. In doing so, up to 10000 delta extractions of documents for an LUW are compressed for each Data Source into the BW delta queue, depending on the application.
Non-serialized V3 Update: With this update mode, the extraction data for the application considered is written as before into the update tables with the help of a V3 update module. They are kept there as long as the data is selected through an updating collective run and are processed. However, in contrast to the current default settings (serialized V3 update), the data in the updating collective run are thereby read without regard to sequence from the update tables and are transferred to the BW delta queue.
V1 - Synchronous update
V2 - Asynchronous update
V3 - Batch asynchronous update
These are different work processes on the application server that takes the update LUW (which may have various DB manipulation SQLs) from the running program and execute it. These are separated to optimize transaction processing capabilities.
Taking an example -
If you create/change a purchase order (me21n/me22n), when you press 'SAVE' and see a success message (PO.... changed...), the update to underlying tables EKKO/EKPO has happened (before you saw the message). This update was executed in the V1 work process.
There are some statistics collecting tables in the system which can capture data for reporting. For example, LIS table S012 stores purchasing data (it is the same data as EKKO/EKPO stored redundantly, but in a different structure to optimize reporting). Now, these tables are updated with the txn you just posted, in a V2 process. Depending on system load, this may happen a few seconds later (after you saw the success message). You can see V1/V2/V3 queues in SM12 or SM13.
V3 is specifically for BW extraction. The update LUW for these is sent to V3 but is not executed immediately. You have to schedule a job (e.g. in LBWE definitions) to process these. This is again to optimize performance.
V2 and V3 are separated from V1 as these are not as real time critical (updating statistical data). If all these updates were put together in one LUW, system performance (concurrency, locking etc) would be impacted.
Serialized V3 update is called after V2 has happened (this is how the code running these updates is written) so if you have both V2 and V3 updates from a txn, if V2 fails or is waiting, V3 will not happen yet.
hope it will helps you..... -
Settings in Process maintenance :ABAP program
Hello Xperts,
I have added ABAP program to one of the process chains in RSPC.
I want to know what are the settings I have to check...I want the call mode ASYNCHRONOUS..
Can any one explain what are CALLED FROM and PROGRAM TO CALL tabs.(what I have to give there?)
I already added RSPC_ABAP_FINISH in my ABAP program(written in SE38)to make the events trigger one after other.
Any answers are always appreciated
Thank You,
JBHi
Use Local for 'Call From'.
Program to call:
if u want to call directly to the program use 'Program'
if you want to triger a batch job use 'Scheduled Program' by stating the event, that u put in the job in SM37.

To get the missed fields in the spool, while creating the background job(execute in background option) you can see the printer setting block at the end of the background job settings window, in that check the 'Spool Request Max. Width 255 char' check box and then continue. It will generate the spool list with maximum width and you can see all the fields in the spool output.
Thanks,

Spool icon not visible in SM37
Hi,
I have created one classical program using 'Write' statement to show output on screen.
Now i am running this program in background mode by choosing option SE38 -> Program -> Execute in Background
I can see my finished job in SM37. Now issue is that on same SM37 screen i can't view spool icon also when i select job and press button 'Spool', message is triggered saying 'No List available' though for same job, spool is generated and that no. i can see in Job log.
User want to view spool from SM37 screen, instead of copying no from job log and inserting into transaction SP01
Plz help...Hi,
@BreakPoint
I am not touching any print settings while running program in Background mode. Getting spool output is not my problem. Spool is generated properly for my job only problem i am facing is that i can't view that spool from SM37 transaction every time i need to go to SP01 transaction to view output.
Few addition:
Aactually my program has 2 options:-
1. Online mode: here i am generating spool request using below FM
* Read, determine, change spool print parameters and archive parameters
CALL FUNCTION 'GET_PRINT_PARAMETERS'
EXPORTING
in_archive_parameters = lw_arcpar
in_parameters = lw_pripar
layout = l_lay
line_count = l_lines
line_size = l_cols
no_dialog = 'X'
IMPORTING
out_archive_parameters = lw_arcpar
out_parameters = lw_pripar
valid = l_val
EXCEPTIONS
archive_info_not_found = 1
invalid_print_params = 2
invalid_archive_params = 3
OTHERS = 4.
2. Background mode: I have used sy-batch to determine background mode. If program execution is in background then above FM will never trigger. In short for Online mode i am explicitly creating spool using FM
If program executed in online mode first and then Background then i am getting above issue.
Anything i am missing?

This is urgent please help! long running job in sm37 but not in sm66
Hi,
Can someone please help for an explanation as to why if you call sm37, you can see that the job is long running (example about 70,000 sec), but when you look at the PID where the job is running in sm66 it does not show 70,000 sec but only around 6,000 sec.
Can someone please explain why? Thank you very muchFor background processes, additional information is available for the background job that is currently running. You can only display this information, if you are logged onto the instance where the job is running, or if you choose Settings and deselect Display only abbreviated information, avoid RFC. In any case, the job must still be running.

More than one Spool in SM37 --- Problem
Hi Friends,
I have a program creating 2 spools , both the spools are visible in SP02 but we cant view the spool content in SP02 due to authority settings in our project.So we have to see the spool contents in SM7 only.But in SM37 we are able to see only the last generated spool . Is there a way we can see both the spools in SM37.Please help its urgent.
Thanking You all,
VenkatYou could read the spool directly from table TSP01
SELECT *
INTO TABLE SPOOL_TABLE
FROM TSP01
WHERE RQIDENT IN R_SPOOL
AND RQOWNER IN R_OWNER
AND RQCRETIME IN R_DATUM.

SM37 spool output not matched with the mail received
Hi All
I have a background job which run on daily basis. After the job is finished successfully the spool is sent to client in the form of the html page.
The mail received by client and the actual spool in R3 are not matching.
Some of the text is missing at the end of the lines. Say like a row having 300 characters in the actual spool R3, 280 characters are only showing in the received mail of client, last 20 characters are missing.
How to check the settings of Page width in SAP R3.
Should i check the settings in the Mail configuration.
Please advise
RegardsHi
Thank you for all the replies.
The issue is related to the width of the output missing.
The spool output is fine. Once this output is generated this wil be send to the spool recipient.
spool output is different in the spool recipient and actual spool output produced in SM37. i.e The width of the spool received in the spool receipient is missed. length is ok but widh is missing.
Should i check in mail settings. Please help me

After Drive Replacement, iTunes Points To Wrong Folder Even After Adjusting Settings
I moved my music to a new hard drive. I then adjusted settings within iTunes to "point" to the folder on the new drive. The folder name is identical as are all the files within it. I did this a few months back and had no issues once iTunes "located" my files. All files played, playlists remained intact. This time however only a small portion of my files successfully "located" and the remaining 75% are unplayable. When "shown in finder", the unplayable tracks point to a completely random folder within my mail folder of obviously non-music files. I've been searching for weeks how to fix this to no avail. I definitely do not want to lose my playlists, play counts, etc. so starting from scratch with iTunes is not an option for me. Please advise how to fix this very odd issue!
iMac 3.4 Ghz i7
OSX 10.8.5
iTunes 12.0.1.26 (just updated)To resolve this we will need details. I don't know exactly what is where. Even though it "worked last time" I see people post with that and almost invariably there is something different in the scenario this time.
The iTunes application alone has no idea where media files are. You could drag all the media folders you like to the Media folder and it won't know. You could "point" iTunes to that folder in preferences and it still will never look there. iTunes knows where files are because as you add them to iTunes it puts them in the Media folder and makes a note in that .itl file where the files are located. When you try to play a track iTunes looks up in the .itl file which media file it should try to play when you request the track and goes to that location to play the file. If there file isn't there you get ! You have to mend the links one by one, or iTunes might try, based on you repairing links. to repair other links, but it doesn't usually work that way and is only partly successful at times (as we have already discussed). If you have ever walked into a store and see an empty shelf but their web site says they have 3 in stock and the sales person says all their stock is out on the shelf, iTunes is like that.
Here's a bunch of links on how iTunes works. As you can see, an entire library is a whole bunch of files and support folders working in concert and when they get split up iTunes starts misbehaving.

Downloader doesn't retain previous settings
Can Bridge Downloader be set to always open with the advanced dialog box and can it be set to retain the previous settings? Also, is there a Preferences for the Downloader? I can see it listed in the menu, but it's ghosted.
It would be a real time-saver if I didn't have to re-enter all the info each time I open the Downloader -- and then start all over again because I missed something and it downloads to the wrong drive/folder or creates dated folders when I don't want them or doesn't enter copyright info in metadata... you get the idea.
Thanks for any help with this.it doesn't increase my faith in Adobe software when following their procedure that I'd also have to search the system to purge it manually. It begs the question: why did I use the latest Adobe un-installer and the latest Adobe Cleaner
That's an understandable question and I have no certain answer for that, I'm only a user, not a technician
But I like to think that in normal ways an uninstall keeps certain files like settings and cache as it is so you won't have to go through that work again when installing upgrades. Further guessing is that the clean tool does get rid of the hidden and/or invisible preference files but not the cache, hence my suggestion to check anyway.
it's annoying that the Rotate tools were moved off the toolbars,
They are not, you just haven't selected the 'path bar' option under the menu window, put a check mark in front of it in the menu Window and they are there with other useful tool icons. Aside from that Bridge stills keeps deselecting the path bar every now and then. But my hopes for CS6 on resolving that item are high.
and having the Favourites and Folders under separate tiny icons is equally irritating and mousey.
You are right, they are tiny but you can design your own lay out. I have both under each other in one column with a very short favorites panel and a very long folder panel. Grab a folder tab and drag it. You will see there will appear blue lines surrounding the panel. You have three columns to work with, one bleu line (either vertical or horizontal) appears at the position were you can drop the selected panel in it's new lay out. A surrounding blue line means nesting in a panel with multiple tabs. In the beginning this is a bit tricky but you will get used to that. When your happy with the customized lay out save it as a new workspace. Plenty of options!
In PS 12.x, the implementation of the Adjustment Layers panel is also beyond belief!
This sounds as you don't like it while others (me included) are very very happy with it! You just have to get used to different ways of working, once tried a while and getting used to it you don't want to go back, trust me (besides, the shortcuts for adjustment layers still work to my knowledge and if not you can assign them yourself in a custom menu setting).
The problem with not upgrading to any new cycle is that the differences with prior version can get huge. It should so because software needs development and users need to get used to it. I can't tell you how often I have changed my workflow due to new methods (and knowledge) and the majority of this changes have brought me great benefit
