Settings not saved for PDF

Hi, I'm using Presenter 8.01 build 260 (I installed the 8.02 update but it doesn't seem to have changed anything). All seems to be working fine when I publish to My Computer, but when I go to Adobe PDF and try and modify any of the settings there (including the path, audio and image quality), those changes aren't displayed or saved. It displays CD Quality and High (image quality) along with the default path, no matter what I select. Would anyone have any idea what I can do to get lower quality (and therefore smaller) PDFs?

For what it's worth, I can customize the quality settings for Publishing to PDF. Presenter 8.0.1

  • Settings NOT saved for the iPod, because- not found

I've a lot of regular changes to make when updating my music library on my iPod. But when I'm in the middle of doing so - that is using TAB "Music" (which "Sync Music" enabled) - and checking all relevant playlists, an error appears:
"The settings were not saved for the iPod “<my iPod name>” because it could not be found."
I don't know what to do because the only related articles all dates back to… 2007! That's 5 years ago!!!
Of course I tried all the solutions of 2007, and when I do other errors occur like:
"iPod sync failed" OR… my iPod simple disappears from the list (and even DEVICES doesn't shows up anymore in the left pane).
    THANKS for helping me.

Can you post a link to the article you are referring to?
I assume you have tried using a nother USB sync cable to help rule out the possibility of a faulty one?  What about plugging the iPod into a different USB port on your Mac?
It might help to remove any other USB devices you have connected to the Mac. Then reboot the Mac as well as your iPod by pressing and holding both the Select/Center and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear. Then try to resync.
Could you provide the full text from the error messages you are referring to?
Make sure you are running the latest version of iTunes (10.6.3).

Back up all data. Don't continue unless you're sure you can restore from a backup, even if you're unable to log in.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
    Step 1
If you have more than one user account, and the one in question is not an administrator account, then temporarily promote it to administrator status in the Users & Groups preference pane. To do that, unlock the preference pane using the credentials of an administrator, check the box marked Allow user to administer this computer, then reboot. You can demote the problem account back to standard status when this step has been completed.
Triple-click the following line to select it. Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
    { sudo chflags -R nouchg,nouappnd ~ $TMPDIR.. ; sudo chown -R $UID:staff ~ $_ ; sudo chmod -R u+rwX ~ $_ ; chmod -R -N ~ $_ ; } 2> /dev/null
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). You'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command will take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2 (optional)
Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1 or if it doesn't solve the problem.
Boot into Recovery. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
    Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open.
In the Terminal window, type this:
    res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not  going to reset a password.
Select your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
    Select
     ▹ Restart
    from the menu bar.

  • Item translations are not saved for copied page

    Hello,
item translations are not saved for copied page. Is it expected?

    Hello,
    >> item translations are not saved for copied page. Is it expected?
I’m not sure what you mean by not saved, but if you expect to copy a current translated page into a new page, and inherent the translation in the new page, the answer is NO, it’s not saved.
Adding a new page to your application, even by copying an existing page, is a major change in your primary language application, which create multiple new independent elements in your application (after the page has been copied, there isn’t any link between it and the original page). You need to re-seed the primary application, export a new XLIFF file, and translate the new <trans-unit> that were added to it.

  • Shuttlexpress settings not saved while using it for FCE 2.0.3

Using an up-to-date iMac G5 (non-Intel) with FCE 2.0.3 and the Contour Pro ShuttlexPress, I can't get the settings to "stick" for the ShuttleXpress. Everytime I restart FCE and/or the computer it is back on Global Settings (as seen in the Shuttle Utility). I forget the version of the Shuttle software I downloaded and installed, but I think it is the latest version.
    Thanks

This is only a guess, but I wonder if the difficulty has something to do with your version of FCE. Much has happened to OS, QuickTime and, perhaps, Shuttle, since the days of FCE2 and PowerPC Macs.

  • Print Driver Settings Not Saving at Print Dialog [IDCS3, Vista]

Hi. On our only design machine that runs Vista, when the user tries to print something from InDesign CS3 and has to turn on duplexing in the printer driver setup, on clicking OK, those settings immediately go away, and thus the document will not print duplexed. It works fine on our XP machines.
A workaround is to set such printer driver settings via Vista's Control Panel, and this does work, however it's a bit cumbersome, since we print all kinds of documents.
    Pertaining Specs:
    - Adobe InDesign CS3 (5.0.3) for Windows
    - Vista Home SP1 (I think)
    - Konica-Minolta Bizhub C500
    - EFI Fiery 2.01 Driver for Vista / PostScript / Image Controller 405
It's similar to this issue, but the specs differ:
    Michael C Stone, "Indesign documents reset printer settings IDCS2 XPSP2" #, 14 Jun 2008 5:19 pm

It does say, "Double-sided: Yes," in Windows' printer properties for the Bizhub PS (and PCL) Fiery driver(s) -- in fact, this may have been from me turning it on for the PS driver in Windows Registry, as it was off for some reason, but seemed to make no real difference anyway -- but I think the duplexing option would have been grayed-out in the Fiery driver's dialog if not available as some various other options are -- the driver has the capability to poll the device for such options availability -- and I don't actually see anything duplexing-related on the Installable Options tab, but the Installed list is identical to one of our XP computers with no apparent issues with printing to the drivers from InDesign -- although at one point, if a Vista user printed an InDesign document and saved it (and thus the printer settings), XP users for some reason couldn't print the document without forcing a change in the print driver settings, but I believe this was due to using the same drivers but different TCP/IP port configurations per machine (Vista doesn't need the IP_ prefix as XP seems to).

  • Watermark not saving on PDF - Pro v9.0

We have a user who has to apply a watermark to a larger number of files.  But the watermark is not being saved to the PDF's.  The issue is when you select to "Keep position and size of watermakr text constant when printing on different page sizes"  the watermark does not get applied, but if you do not select this option then the watermark is applied.  Below are the steps we are doing, we are using Adobe Acrobat Pro v9.0
    Open Adobe Acrobat Pro
    Document > Watermark > Add
Select 2 files to apply the Watermark to
    Click Appearance Options
Check off "Keep position and size of watermark text constant when printing on different page sizes"
Enter Text for watermark "TEST WATERMARK"
Change the font size to 10
    Position > Vertical > 0 inches > Bottom
    Position > Horizontal > 0 inches > Right
Click OK to have the Watermark applied
    Output Options
    Select  "Same folder as originals"
    De-Select "Open when Finished
    Click Ok
The Progess bar pops up then goes away - when you open either one of the PDF's the Watermark is not applied.  If I redo the process but I do not go into the Appearance Options and select "Keep position and Size of watermark text constant when printing on different page sizes"  then the watermark gets applied.
I believe this is a bug within Adobe Acrobat Pro v9.0

  • WritePreprocessNotifier not working for PDF

    Hello everybody,
for my Plugin I need to remove artobjects from the document before saving and add them again after saving.
I used the kAIDocumentWritePreprocessNotifier which worked perfect for all *.ai files.
BUT with *.pdf it doesn't work. Opening the pdf afterwards again in AI the Objects are not there - as expected - opening in Acrobat the objects are there.
This means that the DocumentWritePreprocess lasts until the AI part of the pdf is saved and when saving the pdf part of the pdf the objects are in the document again.
Notifie all the different Save commands is also not usefull, cause when saving a new document or saving as and then pressing cancel all the object which should be removed are gone - of course.
Has anybody an idea how to solve this? Or how to catch the cancel event? Or is there any beforeExportToPdf notifier?
    Thanks!

    Peter, thanks for the answer!
At the moment I am using all these *CommandPreNotifiers in combination with the *PostNotifiers but unfortunately there is no Notifiers for a possible cancel event. So if I do a SaveAs for example and then cancel the progress my document is edited. These edits are undone after the save with the postNotifiers but they don't notifie when cancelled.

  • Thumbnail preview is not working for pdf file in KM

    Hi Experts,
I have upload one pdf file. I have changed profile of one KM content folder from System Default to Thumbnails(For that Click on context menu of folder-> settings-> presentation->click on Select Profile ->check on Thumbnails-> Click on OK) but it is not changed. Rest of other file format's(gif etc) icon is changing.
    Regards,
    Viraj Vashi

    Hi Viraj,
You need to upload an image "pdf.gif" in \etc\public\mimes\images folder.
Also, you need to define the MIME Type for PDF documents in portal.
Navigate to System Administration -> System Configuration -> Knowledge Management -> Content Management -> Utilities -> MIME Types.
Check whether you already have a MIME Type for PDF or not. Else you can create a new Type "pdf" with MIME Type "application/pdf".

  • Graphic EQ settings not saving??

Hi. I've just installed an old version of soundtrack 1.2 which I've never used before but I'm very familiar with other DAWs and finding this nice to use.
I'm using it for live backing track purposes with 10 songs in sequence in their own tracks and the plan was to have the Apple graphic EQ assigned to every track so that I can EQ each song to sound it's best at gigs. The problem is that for some reason each time I've set them, saved session and rebooted, all the EQs have been reset to flat (either that or simply not saved).
I have now removed all Graphic eqs and I've assigned Ozone to each track temporarily (risking CPU overload really) so that it's usable and the Ozone settings are saving fine.
Can anyone shed some light please, this is weird. (incidentally, the Graphic EQ checkboxes are all checked in effects window).
    Thanks- grateful for any help.

    Hi,
10 songs in sequence maybe too much, Graphic EQ should can save all the settings.

  • Outlook view settings not saved

I have one user who looses all View settings when restarting Outlook. Occasionally they will save, but it is very rare. Setting the Reading Pane to Off is one good example of a setting that does not save.
The creation of new Views is also not saved. After restarting Outlook, the new View does not appear in Manage All Views.
I have tried creating a new Outlook profile and I'm told that Office 2013 C2R has been re-installed since this problem started.
Outlook 2013 Click-To-Run via an Office 365 E3 subscription. Exchange Online mailbox. Windows 7 Pro 32-bit.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi,
Basically, Outlook view settings are stored in the default data file. If the data file is corrupt or recreated every time Outlook restarts, the view settings may be not saved.
Does the user use Outlook with Cached Exchange mode enabled? If so, please go to
C:\Users\%username%\Documents\Outlook Files and check if you have multiple .ost files in the folder.
In addition, you may try to switch to turn off Cached Exchange mode and then test this issue again.
Please let me know the result.
