Setup Administrators

Hi,
I just installed Solution Manager 4.0, SQL Server 2005 on Windows 2003 platform and did a client copy. Now i have to create administrators. Could anybody please tell me as to the different administrator accounts i have to create and the authorizations that have to be given to them.
Thanks a lot
Anil

Hi Anil,
Create an user and assign the role
SAP_BC_RRR_SAA_ADMIN
Hope this would help.
Feel free to revert back.

  • How to define a new user in Enterprise manager with Specific access rights?

    Hi,
I want to create a new user in OEMS 11g who should be able to access only the scheduler jobs section.
    How can this be acheived?

You can create new administrators via the Setup --> Administrators page
You can grant certain access rights to targets, you can not however grant priv to only access the job system
    Take a look at http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11857_01/em.111/e14586/security3.htm#sthref235

  • Create A New Monitoring Profile In Grid Control

    Hi All,
We need to set up a monitoring user in grid control to monitor only a few limited metrics i.e FRA area filled , Shared Pool usage, Archiver hung, cpu usage & memory usage..
This account would be provided to a monitoring team to view only these metrics and of course wont have rights to modify anything in the database so only read only access...
I managed to create a read only account from Setup----Administrators---Create...
So doing the above i have created the read only user from the appropriate options, now my only question is that i do not want to give read only access for any other metrics apart from the ones i mentioned above..
Is it possible to set only the above five metrics.
    Thanks...

    Hi;
For your issue i suggest close your thread here as changing thread status to answered and move your issue to Forum Home » Enterprise Manager » Enterprise Manager Grid Control

  • How do you change the email address for sysman in DBConsole?

    Hi,
EM Alerts were originally setup to send to my email address. A new dba started and changed everything you can within dbconsole to have the alerts come to him. He is not getting any alerts, I am still getting them.
The alerts are coming from sysman. There doesn't seem to be away to see what email address is set for sysman and change the email address. 11GR1
    sysman is grey'd out
This is the body of the email from EM Alert:
And what does this message mean?
Metric=Count of targets not uploading data
    Metric Value=3
    Timestamp=Jan 21, 2011 12:21:35 AM EST
    Severity=Critical
Message=Count of targets not uploading exceeded the critical threshold (0). Current value: 3
    Notification Rule Name=Agent Upload Problems
    Notification Rule Owner=SYSMAN
    Notification Count=1

This is not where the email address was set that is sending me messages:You can add/change email address as
Go to Setup and then Notification Methods here you can edit/add is where you can add who the email is coming from
    Setup ->Notification  methods
    Outgoing mail server
    Username:
    password:
    confirm password:
    Identify Sender as:
    Sender's E-mail Address:
    Repeat notifications:
    Scripts and SNMP Traps
    Nor here:
    Setup -> Administrators
    Sys - Super Administrator
    Syman - Repository Owner
System - Super Administrator You need to set up your notification schedule in order to receive e-mail notifications for alerts. For each day in the schedule, specify the e-mail addresses that should be used to send you e-mail notifications.
I can view/edit, subscribe to Rules Delete and Create for sys and system under Setup->Administrators. These options are greyed out for sysman.
+The following area also does not change who the emails are sent to
.+ Notification emails are not going to the email address set here. They are
still going to the address previously set, My address.
    preferences -> General
    Password
    E-mail Addresses
Notification Schedule: - This is where the email address was hiding
You need to set up your notification schedule in order to receive e-mail notifications for alerts. For each day in the schedule, specify the e-mail addresses that should be used to send you e-mail notifications.
This is where my email address was hiding:
Edit Schedule Definitions: E-mail Addresses - did this for sysman Was not sufficient to change it for system or sys. Changed it, maybe the messages will stop coming to me now.
There were two email addresses set here. They were only going to the first one listed. Mine. I removed it,maybe the notifications will stop coming to me and I can stop monitoring for free for the guy that is getting paid to watch the system.

  • Reg a user set up in grid control who can view properties of one target

    Hi,
I am trying to set up a user for grid control who can view only properties of one target. I have tried some options which were suggested but didnt help.when we login i should be able to view only one target to which i am giving view access. but whenever i create a administrator it can view all targets though i give permission to view only one target.does any one have any input on this???
    Thanks and regards,
    Hema

    Hallo Hema,
I've just quickly tried myself and have no issues creating such a limited user. Do you have any roles granted on the user? Is the "PUBLIC" role modified in your company to have some permissions granted?
Can you give a quick overview of what information is displayed on the page when you click "View" for the selected user on the Setup -> Administrators page?
    Best regards,
    Robert

  • OEM Grid: OEM_ADVISOR Role

    Hello,
I am trying to run SQL tuning advisor in the OEM grid, and encountered the following error in the OEM grid:
...You have insufficient privileges to run advisors. You must have OEM_ADVISOR role in order to do so....
I have grant OEM_ADVISOR role to the users system and DBSNMP in both the OEM db (oem_rep) and the client db, but still encountered the issue.
SQL>  select GRANTEE, GRANTED_ROLE from dba_role_privs where GRANTEE in ('DBSNMP','SYSTEM')
      2  and GRANTED_ROLE like 'OEM%';
    GRANTEE                        GRANTED_ROLE
    SYSTEM                         OEM_ADVISOR
    DBSNMP                         OEM_ADVISOR
DBSNMP                         OEM_MONITORWhat did I miss? Can someone advice?
    Thanks!

    ok,
I don't understand why when you log in as SYSTEM , it is then displaying you logged in as DBSNMP. Can we check why this is ? Can you try and login as SYS , you must connect as SYSDBA of course. Then see if it works ? We can also see on EM the Administrators who have been set up.
If you click on the Setup option at the top of the Home Page of EM , then follow these instructions from Oracle (of course there is no need to create the user account SYSTEM - I hope :)
To grant management access to other database users, use the following procedure:
Start your Web browser and log in to the Database Control as the SYS or SYSTEM database user.
Click Setup at the top of the Database Home page.
Click Administrators in the left navigation bar.
If you need to create a new administrator, you must first create the user and then assign administrative privileges as described in this section. To create a new user, see "Administering Database Users"
Click Create to create a new Enterprise Manager user by assigning the management privileges to an existing database user.
Click the flashlight icon next to the Name field and select an existing database user from the pop-up window.
Enter the password for the selected user and click Finish.
Enterprise Manager assigns the management privileges to the selected user. The selected database user is now included in the list of management users on the Setup Administrators page. All the users shown on this page can log in to the Database Control and perform database management tasks.
please see this page for more http://youngcow.net/doc/oracle10g/server.102/b14196/em_manage.htm

  • Minimal host privilegues to execute sql job

    Hi all,
I have installed OEM Grid Control 10.2.0.5 and I have one problem.
For example, I have created one Administrator TEST (Setup -> Administrators -> Create ... ) which primary role is to execute the jobs (SQL Scripts) on target database testdb.
I logged like new administrator TEST and set Preferred Credentials for my Database Instance (Preferences -> Prefered Credentials -> Database Instance / Set Credentials).
I have setup username/password for database testdb and username/password for specific node for example testnode. Try test and everything is OK.
Now I have created one simple SQL Script Job (select * from dual) on this target testdb database, and for first test I have used Use Preferred Credentials in Credentials tab and everything is passed OK.
In second test what I wish is to execute some other SQL Script Job, but with other dbuser (not like defined in the Preferred Credentials), but with the same OS username/password.
I have choose Override Preferred Credentials of Credentials tab, but here I must type again Database Host Credentials and new Database Credentials (for new database user).
    My questions>
    1) Is there any way I can use already typed OS username/password, I have earlier defined in Prefered Credentials of my Database Instance, and just change database credentials
    2) Can I define some other user (not oracle) on OS (UNIX) with minimal privileges on OS and give his credentials to new OEM Administrators, which is able to execute SQL Script jobs (not to give/always type oracle username password)
    Best regards,
    Dragan

I am certain, not begin able to test this but you should be able to:
    HOST ('sqlplus username/password @my_script', NO_SCREEN);
    Hello all,
I am able to start sql/plus using the HOST command from a form, but would like to execute a sql/plus program I have saved on my c: drive as well. Anyone have any ideas or thoughts on how to pass the name of the program while starting (or after starting) SQL/Plus?
    Thanks to all,
    Jeff

  • Needs Operator privilege to set Blackout

I would like to set a blackout period for a target in which I am the Administrator, but I am not able to do so because step 2 in the Create Blackout dialog says that I need "Operator privilege" in order to complete the setup.
According to the "Access" area for the group in which I am attempting to set the Blackout, I am listed as an Adminstrator with Full privileges.
Is it possible that I do not have something configured correctly or is this possibly a bug with the Grid Control product?

The OS is Linux Red Hat v4.0 and the process that was used by the super admin to create me as an administrator was to follow the "standard wizard" (Setup --> Administrators --> Create). The one step of the wizard is to specify what targets that user has control over and I was given full control for the group which is associated with the project that I am currently working on.

  • How to setup Security during installation

    Hi Experts,
Please let me know how to achieve "Setting up security for service-level accounts (page 12 in SAP BPC 5.1 Master Install Guide)"... I have created 3 users in my windows server 2003:
1.Administrator (member of Administrators group in server 2003)
2.SysAdmin (member of Administrators group in server 2003)
3.student (member of Users group in server 2003)
Please let me know whether\how the System Admin ID matches with the SystemAdmin role in the BPC 5.1 and how the Admin ID matches with the PrimaryAdmin role in the BPC 5.1.
I am installing using SysAdmin ID which is a member of Administrators group on my machine.
I have also got License file from Service Market Place for SAP BPC 5.1 where and how should I use this file ??
    Thank You,
    Sudhakar Kuricheti

What I normally do during an installation, is to create one user whith which I do the complete installation. This user should pass the following requirements:
u2022 The user must preferably be a domain user. It can be a local user on the server, but not in a production environment.
u2022 The user must be a local administrator on the SAP BPC server and in the case of a multi-server installation on all the servers in the environment.
u2022 This user will have to be part of the Remote Desktop users group as well because it is the only user that will be able to perform certain actions on the SAP BPC server through the SAP BPC Server Manager for example backups and restores of application sets.
u2022 Please note, this user can be reset through the server manager but because it is normally also used to start the SAP BPC COM+ components, certain services and many tasks within the application, it is of utmost importance that this user must be configured carefully before the start of the installation.
Then I instal SQL 2005 in mixed mode (so with a SA account). When finished installing SQL 2005 I run the SAP BPC setup, where I specify the same user as I used for the SQL 2005 installation for all 3 fields where usernames can be filled in.
Regarding the license file, this can be located anywhere on your server where it does not get deleted. Mostly during my installations I make a folder on the C drive called something like C:/BPC License File and put it there. The license file should be specified in the third step (first select install BPC on SQL2005, then next on the first screen containing some warnings about closing all other windows applications).

  • Office 2013 RMS Client Configuration - Your Machine is not setup for IRM

    Hi All,
I have successfully setup a test AD RMS farm but stuck at trying to configure Office 2013 to work with this. The farm configuration is as below
    DC: Windows 2003
AD RMS Server: Windows 2008/ SQL Server 2008 R2
Client: Windows 7 64 bit with Office 2013 32 bit, Domain Joined
Client is domain joined and SCP has been successfully registered ( I can see the SCP in AD RMS properties).
When I open word and select Protect Document -> Restrict Access, the only option is to Connect to RMS Server and get template, which eventually gives an error
Your Machine isn't setup for Information Rights Management (IRM). To set up IRM, sign in to office, open an existing IRM protected message or document, or contact your help desk.
Surprisingly, when I open a document protected by IRM (from a different machine), IRM is automatically configured for the user and starts working from that point. However any new domain user login into this client faces the same issue.
Can anyone help identify the required registry keys that need to be present for getting this working on the client.
    Thanks for your help
    Anuj

    Hi  Manoj,
To install Microsoft Deployment Agent, you must be a member of the Windows
Administrators security group on the computer where you will install it. You must also be a member of the
Release Manager role in Release Management.
From the log, the user you‘re using seems not in the local administrator group. Please make sure the corresponding users has the needed permissions to install the deployment agent. Please check this
page for more information about installation of deployment agent. If you have any other issues, please elaborate more details about your scenario.

  • How do I setup CalDav and CardDav servers on my Mac to enable local 'cloud' syncing in Mavericks

I've decided to start off a new thread having initially posted on How to locally sync an iPhone with OS X Mavericks? iCloud is NOT an option.
It is clear to me that it is possible to establish syncing locally without going outside one's own home, and without internet access. I am bugged by the fact that the previous service has gone without any user focussed warning, but I am keen to find a way of solving the problem. If you are just frustrated, I'd be grateful if you can keep your annoyance off this thread.
My guess is that a CalDav and CardDav server hosted on my own Mac can be set upt to sync with my iPhone (3GS) either on a Computer-to-Computer (ad hoc) network or via my own home LAN. The trouble is I am not network/Apache savvy enough to use it.
I am reluctant to fork out an additional amount for the Mavericks server as I don't have any other foreseeable need for it, but Mavericks comes with Apache pre-loaded and there is a very light, simple and free open source CalDav and CardDav server in Baïkal. The trouble is I am not apache/network savvy enough to make use of it, and basically I am stumbling along in the near dark with terminal.
There are some good resources for setting up Apache and for setting up Virtual Hosts which would host my personal 'cloud', and Baïkal also comes with setup guides as well. The trouble is, I don't quite have enough knowledge to marry the two together. Is there anyone contributing to or watching this thread who has the know-how to do a proper step by step guide for running Baïkal on Apache as installed in the Mavericks OS, and setting up a local 'cloud'.
AFAICT the problem with the resources I have found is that the Apache stuff I've found doesn't particularly focus on running Baïkal, and the Baïkal documentation is not specific to Apache on Mavericks. Is there anyone out there who can give me some help with this?
    Can anyone help - please?

I've now downloaded ownCloud 4.5.13 and followed the installation instructions in the Administrators Manual. I am slightly concerned to read under MacOS: "This section of the manual needs to be revised."
However, I have followed the instructions there, and step 5 has taken me to the web setup page where I have created an account with user name and password.
Then I went to Calendar, and from the Calendar menu chose Add Account… In the dialog that followed I chose Add CalDAV Account. I chose Account Type Manual and put in the username and password I used when setting up the ownCloud account. For the URL I followed the manual and put: http://ADDRESS/remote.php/caldav/principals/username/ substituing 'localhost:8888/ownCloud' for the address, and my ownCloud username for the username. (If I just used 'localhost:8888' for the address it produced the message: "The URL http://localhost:8888/remote.php/caldav/principals/[myusername]/ encountered HTTP error 404. Make sure the URL is correct.".)
So far I am semi-sucessful. It has created a Http://Localhost:8888/Owncloud account on Calendar in which I have been able to creat a test calendar and an event. I have also deleted the event, but Calendar will not let me delete the calendar. Once I inserted a second calendar the Delete command became available, but failed with this notice: "http://localhost:8888/ownCloud/remote.php/caldav/principals/[myusername]/ is not a location that supports this request." A retry deleted the name of the calendar, but left it otherwise intact. The account now has a grey triangle next to it which when clicked produces the following: "The request (CalDAVCalendarSplitDualTypeCalendarQueueableOperation) for account “Http://Localhost:8888/Owncloud/Remote” failed."
I think this may be resolved by an ownCloud setting. I will see if I can track this down. Has anyone here got any thoughts?

  • Exchange 2013 SP1 setup fails at prerequisite Analysis

I installed a completely new server network with Hyper-v 2012R2
I installed two virtual 2012R2 servers: DC01 as the Domain Controller of "testdomain.local" and EX01 as the Exchange server.
EX01 is joined the domain "testdomain" from DC01
I log in on EX01 with an in AD created testdomain\exadmin account who is member of domain admins, enterprise admins, schema admins, administrators and group policy creator owners.
    I have run the command Install-WindowsFeature AS-HTTP-Activation, Desktop-Experience,

I can connect with the Active Directory Sites and Domains and other applets to the AD. So Why these errors???
    HELP!
    Regards, Manu
    Manu van Winkel

    Hi, thanks for the answer.
I restarted the server and did the "run as administrator": same result.
The first errormessage in the exchangesetup.log is:
[ERROR] Setup encountered a problem while validating the state of Active Directory: Active Directory server  is not available. Error message: Active directory response: The LDAP server is unavailable.  See the Exchange setup log for more information
    on this error.
When I run dcdiag /s:DC01 from EX01 it passes all tests except:
DFSREvent "The RPC server is unavailable"
KccEvent "The RPC server is unavailable."
SystemLog  "The RPC server is unavailable."
Could these be of any influence?
Running dcdiag on DC01 passes all tests.
The only thing I changed after setting up DC01, was changing the fixed IP-adres from 192.168.25.3 to 192.168.25.2, but I ran ipconfig /flushdns and ipconfig /registerdns and dcdiag /fix afterwards.
The only roles installed on DC01 are AD DS (I tried installing exchange before and after adding the AD DS role), AD, DNS, DHCP and Fileservices
I don't know where to look anymore....

  • "Unable to set shared config DC." when running setup /RecoverServer

    Hi guys,
I'm hoping for a bit of assistance. I have stepped into an environment where there is one production Exchange 2010 server and one Exchange 2013 server. The Exchange 2013 server is in a unrecoverable state however it contains the domain administrators mailbox
and therefore I cannot remove it manually. As it was a vm, I took it offline, created an identical server (name, os version(Windows 2008 R2 with latest updates), ip address etc.), installed all the prerequisite components and then ran setup /m:RecoverServer
/IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms. Everything runs through successfully until it gets to the Mailbox role: Transport service where it fails with "Unable to set shared config DC.". After some searching on Google,
it suggests that ipv6 is disabled on the DC. We have two DC's in our environment and both have ipv6 enabled as does the exchange server. If I try to re-run the installation for the role alone, i.e. Setup /mode:install /IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms
/role:HubTransport, it fails with "The machine is not configured for installing "BridgeheadRole" Datacenter Role."
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Amit, I understand there's no hubtransport role in 2013 but this is the error that it's throwing:
