Setup of 2 B-channel transfer (TBCT) on Cisco Voice Gateway

Hi all,
In my scenario, I have several remote locations, each with their own T1-PRI connection to the PSTN via Cisco voice gateways.
The call flow has the caller calling a PSTN number at the remote location.  This call hits a CUCM translation pattern and is immediately hairpinned/tromboned out to a PSTN number located at the UCCE central location.
The customer would like to perform a 2 b-channel transfer back up to the CO switch, to free up B-channels to the remote location.
My question is this:  Assuming my switch type is supported and the PSTN provider supports 2 b-channel transfers, do I simply need to add "isdn supp-service tbct" to my serial interface configuration?
I have seen discussions that it is as simple as this, to needing some tcl/xml code, to also requiring aaa to be setup.
As there are over 100 locations being considered for this enhancement, the customer would like to know if it is 15 minutes or 2 hours per location to implement.
Thanks,
Joe

Thanks Paolo,
That was my expectation.
They have this going on the VG's utilized by CVP, so I will ask them to review the XML in use there for tweaking for the remote locations.
Thanks again!
Joe

I tried a option to run a VB script to change the DMA status but no luck..
Can anyone help me know if any option is available to change the DMA status

    Hello suneel
Sorry to interrupt this discussion but I feel it goes somehow in wrong direction.
If I understand you right you just want to install WXP on your Satellite A300. Am I right about that?
On this forum you can find, I believe, hundreds of threads with precise description how to do this.
What you need is WXP installations CD with integrated SATA driver.
Check please this page . There you can find nice description how to find SATA drivers. At the end you can also find link to guide for "Slipstreaming SATA driver into WinXp boot cd using nLite".
When the WXP is installed just continue with WXp driver installation. If your notebook is WXP supported you can find them on Toshiba download page.
    Hope this helps.
    Good luck!

I have my apple TV plugged into my Denon receiver.  My receiver is setup with 3 speaker channels, one center, one left front and one right front.  When I listen to music via Airplay, sound comes only from the center channel and right, nothing on the left.  When I watch Cable Television (not using the Apple TV), all 3 channels work fine so I know that the speaker connections are fine.

I had problems with streaming until I changed the WiFi channel that I was using.  The original one conflicted with my neighbor.  After that, MOST of my streaming problems vanished.  Occasionally, a movie would pause for more buffering and I eventually ran an ethernet cable from the Apple TV to my Apple Extreme (to eliminate the Wifi).  I have not had a single problem since then (except to repair the drywall after running the ethernet from one floor to another).  :-)

  • Regarding Transfer speed in Cisco Any Connect

    Hi,
I was trying to check transfer speed from Cisco Any Connect, with only ports opened in firewall 443 & 80 with 1 destination , but to complete data transfer of 50MB file it takes around 40mins, but if all ports are unblocked in Firewall with 1 destination ,it takes only 9mins.
so wanted to know the correct port numbers which needs to be opened to make data transfer speed fast & why this behaviour.
    Please somebody help me.

a customer has confronted me with a similar issue. They are using AnyConnect SSL Clients in their LAN, and noticed a severe performance drop on client side once connected via AnyConnect.  I have set this up in a lab environment to compare LAN performance with AnyConnect SSL performance.
    Win7 Client
    AnyConnect                                              ASA5520                                                    Win7 iperf Server
Secure Mobility -----------1Gb LAN---------------- v9.1.1---------------------1Gb LAN--------------------  TCP Window Size 4MB
    3.1.02040
The ASA was configured from factory default and there was no traffic passing besides this test. AnyConnect used DTLS, and interface mtu on the ASA was 1500, the AnyConnect mtu was left unmodified, so I suspect the maximum of 1406 bytes was used.
    Result:
    - While AnyConnect was disconnected, Iperf reported bandwidth usage of about 300Mbps. This was what I was expecting.
    - As soon as I was connected via AnyConnect, the bandwidth usage dropped tp about 80Mbps. I expected a slight drop, but not this much.
What causes such decrease in performance? Sure, if connected via the Internet, clients will most likely never notice this, but the customer uses AnyConnect SSL in a Gigabit LAN environment. Could the bottleneck be on the client side? The load and memory usage on the ASA side was very low. I have tried several ASA versions, but they all deliver similar results.

  • How to verify voice channels on voice gateway

    Hello,
I am in the testing phase of deploying a 2921 voice gateway with 2 PRIs. After connecting the T1s, how do I verify if all the channels are up and ready for use? Also, how do I verify if clocking on the T1 interfaces are configured correctly?
This 2921 is a replacement for a 2811 currently being used. When I login to the 2811 via SSH, I see this:

I thank you very much for your time.

    Hello,
To check clocking you can use the "show network-clock" command. For example:
    SiteA-RTR#show network-clock
    Network Clock Configuration
Priority Clock Source Clock State Clock Type
    1 T1 0/0/0 GOOD T1
    10 Backplane GOOD PLL
    Current Primary Clock Source
Priority Clock Source Clock State Clock Type
    1 T1 0/0/0 GOOD T1
The above is an example of a "good" configuration, assuming that T1 0/0/0 is the controller terminating the line from your carrier. In your case, it would be T1 0/2/0 or 0/2/1. You can also look at "show controller t1 [interface]" (e.g. show controller t1 0/2/0) and pay particular attention to "Line Code Violations", "Slip Secs", and "Errored Secs" counters. Note that the "Clock Source Line" status in the "show controller t1" command is not enough to verify you have proper clocking.
Example of a "bad" clock scenario:
    SiteA-RTR(config-voiceport)#do sh controller t1 0/0/0
    T1 0/0/0 is up.
    Applique type is Channelized T1
    Cablelength is long 0db
    No alarms detected.
    alarm-trigger is not set
Soaking time: 3, Clearance time: 10
    AIS State:Clear LOS State:Clear LOF State:Clear
    Version info Firmware: 20080918, FPGA: 13, spm_count = 0
Framing is ESF, Line Code is B8ZS, Clock Source is Line.
CRC Threshold is 320. Reported from firmware is 320.
Data in current interval (483 seconds elapsed):
3 Line Code Violations, 4 Path Code Violations
207 Slip Secs, 0 Fr Loss Secs, 0 Line Err Secs, 0 Degraded Mins
206 Errored Secs, 0 Bursty Err Secs, 0 Severely Err Secs, 109 Unavail Secs
To make sure the clock is set correctly, look at the "network-clock-participate" and the "network-clock-select" commands.
For the ISDN status information, you can use "show isdn status". For example:
    SiteA-RTR(config)#do sh isdn stat
    Global ISDN Switchtype = primary-ni
%Q.931 is backhauled to CCM MANAGER 0x0003 on DSL 0. Layer 3 output may not apply
    ISDN Serial0/0/0:23 interface
    dsl 0, interface ISDN Switchtype = primary-ni
    L2 Protocol = Q.921 0x0000 L3 Protocol(s) = CCM MANAGER 0x0003
    Layer 1 Status:
    ACTIVE
    Layer 2 Status:
    TEI = 0, Ces = 1, SAPI = 0, State = MULTIPLE_FRAME_ESTABLISHED
    Layer 3 Status:
    0 Active Layer 3 Call(s)
    Active dsl 0 CCBs = 0
    The Free Channel Mask: 0x800000FF
    Number of L2 Discards = 0, L2 Session ID = 15
*Note: The above is output from a gateway provisioned to use MGCP.
For all gateways, just make sure that Layer 1 is "ACTIVE" and that Layer 2 has "MULTIPLE_FRAME_ESTABLISHED".
You can also use the "show isdn service" command to look at status for individual B-channels.
    SiteA-Rtr#sh isdn service
    PRI Channel Statistics:
%Q.931 is backhauled to CCM MANAGER 0x0003 on DSL 0. Layer 3 output may not appl

  • Voice gateway PRI channels

    Hello,
Does anyone know which command on a voice gateway will make it use all 24 channels on the controller without having channel D for signaling?

    Hi,
In case you have multiple PRI's you can use NFAS which allows to control multiple PRI's with a single d-channel

  • E1 Channel Utilisation stats - Cisco 3945 Gateway

We are trying to monitor the E1 channel utilisation on 3 Voice Gateways - CISCO3945-V/K9. Each Gateway has approximately 6 E1 connections.
We are using the MIB CISCO-POP-MGMT-MIB detailed on this Cisco web page http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk648/tk362/technologies_tech_note09186a00801abe59.shtml
We are using SolarWinds as the SNMP Manager and are successfully retrieving Data of active DS0 channels however not an a per interface (E1) basis but of the entire Gateway (all 6 E1’s).
We would like assistance please in understanding how we can monitor all interfaces individually.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for the response however I believe from reading their website that it only displays data throughput. I require the ability to display the amount of active channels DS0 in use of an ISDN e1.

  • Setup Assistant New Macbook Pro Transfer Problem

Hello, I am trying to transfer the contents of my old 2008 Macbook Pro to a new 2013 Macbook Pro Retina with Mavericks. I have updated all of the software on the old one and it is running Mavericks. I can either connect them directly through ethernet (Thunderbolt to ethernet adapter for new one), or over Wifi. I have tried both and neither seem to work. When I go through Setup Assisttant on the new one, it recognizes the computer name old the old one. The old computer also had an HDD and Solid Slate Drive installed, and I want to transfer the HDD only. When I go through Migration Assistant on the old one, it stays on the searching for other computers screen, not recognizing the new computer. If I click continue on the new one to transfer from the computer name, it stays on checking the computer while the other one keeps searching. What can I do to transfer the dtata and settings to my new computer? I have heard the best way is with the one shot at Setup Assistant at the beginning. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Call Apple tech support.  You have a warranty remember?

  • Setup Assistant fails during file transfer and loops back to the beginnig

I have a PPC G5 running 10.4.11 and just bought an Intel-based MacBook Pro. (I haven’t gotten it to fully start up yet, so I’m not sure about the OS.)
I've tried to use the Setup Assistant to migrate my files and applications from my desktop to the laptop, but when I get to the Transfer Files option, the Users, Applications Folder, and Files and Folders options never finish calculating. Everytime I hit Transfer, a black-and-white wheel appears for less than a second then disappears, and Setup Assistant loops back to the beginning, where I get the multilingual welcome messages and bad music. Or, if I do nothing and wait for the Transfer Files step to calculate, Setup Assistant still just loops back to the beginning.
I’ve tried the options for transferring from another Mac and from another volume. I’ve tried copying from the G5 in Target Disk Mode and tried copying from a cloned firewire hard drive. I’ve tried using the firewire 400 and 800 ports, different cables. I’ve run DiskWarrior on the G5 and the cloned disc to make sure no disc errors hung up the process. I tried booting into Safe Mode and following that protocol, though it seemed to address a different issue than the one I’m experiencing.
Any ideas about what I can do? I’d rather do this in Setup Assistant than Migration Assistant, and I really don’t relish the idea of reinstalling all the software I have on the G5 onto the MacBook Pro. (Logic, for example, takes forever to install.)
    Let me know!

Even if it's a demo, it's unlikely it's got 10.5 on it. Maybe 10.6. I've used the 10.6 SA from Leopard, which ran perfectly with no problems. As for MA, here's one way to go about it, if you can't finish with SA. (Thanks to MonkeyBoy at XYMer's)
If you choose to use the migration assistant after installing SL to migrate settings over from Tiger, it'll copy over all your data intact from Tiger, as well as use the same account names & passwords.
What I typically do is choose a dummy name during the installation, then use MA to import the "real" accounts from the old install. After I'm satisfied MA moved over the accounts properly (I've logged into them and used them for a few hours/days and generally feel satisfied with the lack of crashes and similarly "odd" events) then I delete the dummy account.

  • Setup System Monitoring -- How to transfer Information J2EE

    Hi Experts,
I got an issue trying to transfer information of satellite system (J2EE) to Solution Manager ->Operation Setup->Setup System Monitoring
I installed the ccmsr agent and tx RZ20 shows the information of the alerts, but I can see it in Setup System Monitoring.
On the other hand I added the systems in SMSY.
    Regards.

In tx rz20 we have to copy the information of each MTE and select properties, then paste that in the third row (agent name) of the alert and save.

  • Want to transfer from old computer to new computer and discontinue using old computer. Which computer should be the main computer in the setup? Or should I transfer bookmarks and settings by another method instead of using sync?

Have a computer which I will need to retire (bad hard drive), 32 bit OS. Have new computer 64 bit OS. Both computers have Firefox 5. Old machine on Windows 2000, new one on Windows 7. Old computer has all the bookmarks and settings that I need for the new computer. Also have Zotero on the old computer and would like to transfer it to the new computer. Any advice would be gratefully received.
    Much thanks.

    Hi,
Regarding bookmarks, settings and history, Firefox Sync can definitively help even if it's not it's primary goal. You would need to transfer your Zotero configuration manually though.
In order to transfer your data using Sync follow this instructions making your new computer the primary device: [[How to sync Firefox settings between computers]].
Once everything is set up make sure that you have all the information in the new computer. After it, you should be able to retire your old computer without any issue. Remember, that if you remove the bookmarks before disconnecting your old computer they would be removed from your Sync account too.

  • My PC crashed and I had to start a new Itune setup, is it possibile to transfer all my contacts, calender from my IPad back to my new ITune setup?

My PC crashed and although I have all my info from ITunes software on my IPad I would like to be able to traqnsfer that info,ie:contacts, calender, music back to NEW ITune software which I had to install..I called Apple and they were unable to help. Does anyone out there have a idea?

I could be wrong, but as far as Apple iOS devices go, the transfer of information is only 1 way. The content of your iTunes and your iPhone, iPod, iPod touch and iPad are always a mirror of each other. If you've lost your iTunes, syncing your iPad will erase it. Only iTunes purchased content can be saved. Some of that is only a one-time download also.
    Call Apple and find out...

  • 0RecordMode setup question: Infocube or only Transfer Struct

    Hello
I would appreciate if you can let me know how to set OrecordMode to work with a Generic Delta Datasource.(custom)
I have field EBAN-loekz (r/3) which will tell me if a register is marked for completion. If so I need to delete it from previous load in ICube.
Read that 0RecordMode should be used but dont know where to include it ?
should I match it directly with LOEKZ or rutine to fill only "D" value ?
also as data is not erased from EBAN (just marked in this field) next time I do a delta  will still need to check on this in case any change in other field?
    thanks

    Hi Srini & fellas
I have read similar posts but still confused.
How should set the mapping ?
    If LOEKZ = "X" then 0recordmode ="D" ????
My custom datasource neither my ODS show an 0recordmode ??? read should be present from beginning ?
should I put rutine between DS --> ODS ? or ODS ---> Icube?
    please help!

  • Port channel from 2960 to Cisco Core 6513

I have a Cisco 6513 Core Switch, which is in a vtp domain and the core is the Server.  There are a number of other port channels going from the 6513 to other 2960 switch stacks.  The other switch stacks are in vtp client mode and are getting all vlans form the Server 6513 within this vtp domain.
I am trying to connect 2 - 2960S FPD L switches, which are connected together via flex module/flex cable.  I have 2 sfp's in the sfp ports on one of these switches and am creating one port channel of 20G(2 10G ports Te1/0/1 and Te1/0/2) going to two 10Gig ports on the Cisco 6513(Te9/7 and Te9/8) as a port channel created on the 6513 end.
I want to know first of all if it is possible to keep the 2960's in transparent mode and only allow 2 vlans to go to these 2 2960's.  I don't need all vlans on these switches, and the other 2960 stacks going to the 6513 do have all vlans and are in the vtp domain.  This one would only all vlans 4, and 20.
Can someone give me an example of the setup on each end to make this work?  I have tried and get a subnet mask error, so I must be going something wrong.  The vlans:  vlan 4: 10.35.3.0/22 and vlan 20 :  10.35.20.0/24 would be the only ones I would want to tag ports for on these 2 2960 switches in transparent mode.
Wanted to also setup a management interface for vlan 20 so I can remotely connect to 2960 stack.  It would be 10.35.20.30 for the int management IP.
    Thanks in advance
    Dave

Many Cisco switches support two methods of trunking - dot1q and ISL.  ISL is a Cisco-proprietary method of trunking.  The 2960's do not support ISL, so dot1q is on by default.  There's no need for the trunk encapsulation command.
When a frame is transferred over a trunk, dot1q trunking adds a tag to the frame so that the receiving switch knows which vlan the frame belongs to.  Your native vlan is a special vlan which does not have a tag applied.  Among other things, it's used for administrative traffic between the switches such as the messages the switches exchange to negotiate a port channel.  You can use one of your two vlans - vlan 4 or 20 - as your native vlan but it's recommended that you use a different vlan to segregate the traffic.  If you do not specify a native vlan, the switch will use vlan 1 as the native.  It's considered more secure to not use vlan 1 on your network, so it's recommend to have a different vlan explicitly configured as native.  If you're using vlan 1 as native through the rest of the network - if none of your other trunks have a native vlan explicitly configured - it doesn't do much good to change it on this one trunk.  You do not have to explicitly allow the native vlan on the trunk.  If you leave your native vlan as 1 and allow vlans 4 and 20 it will work fine.  You might want to do some research on the security implications and consider changing it through the whole network but that's a separate issue from getting this to work.
Port channel numbers are locally significant.  They don't have to match on opposite ends of the channel, they just have to be the same on each interface of a particular switch.  You can use either mode desirable or mode on.  It changes the way the switches set up the port channel a little bit but it doesn't change the way the channel operates.
