You must run psconfig.sh (. ./psconfig.sh) under your PS_HOME directory before
starting the Database Configuration Wizard.

As you see the above, I have run ./psconfig.sh in the directory /opt/PT8.53 and then run ./setup.sh in the directory /opt/PT8.53/setup/PsMpDbInstall.
but get the error message:
"You must run psconfig.sh (. ./psconfig.sh) under your PS_HOME directory before starting the Database Configuration Wizard."
I have run the 2 commands ./psconfig.sh and ./setup.sh in root but get the same error message.
My question is: Does PeopleTools8.53 Linux Version have a problem ? How to solve the issue ?
Thanks.

Folks,
Hello. Thanks a lot for replying.

My questions are:
First, how to get to Data Mover Bootstrap mode at this point of the installation so that import data into Database Instance ?
Second, how to view Oracle database instances in Oracle Database Server so that make sure Database instance PT853 is created ?
Thanks.

  • PeopleTools 8.53 Linux Version PIA: JDK 7 Issues

    Folks,
Hello. I am installing PeopleTools 8.53 (Linux Version) with WebLogic11gR1 Generic and Coherence (file name V29856-01) that requires JDK 7 Linux x86-64 (file name V35017-01). All files are downloaded from http://www.edelivery.oracle.com.
Before install WebLogic 11gR1, we need to install JDK 7. After extract v35017-01.zip in Linux, it turns into the file jdk-7u9-linux-x64.rpm.
When install the file, I get the message as below:
    [root@localhost Java7_JDK_Linux_64bit]# rpm -ivh jdk-7u9-linux-x64.rpm
    Preparing... ########################################### [100%]

Some folks told me the above message is a warning and can be ignored. However, I have deleted the default installation directory /usr/java and install it again and get the message below:
    [root@localhost Java7_JDK_Linux_64bit]# ls
    jdk-7u9-linux-x64.rpm V35017-01.zip
    [root@localhost Java7_JDK_Linux_64bit]# rpm -ivh jdk-7u9-linux-x64.rpm

    Preparing... ########################################### [100%]
    package jdk-1.7.0_09-fcs is already installed
    [root@localhost Java7_JDK_Linux_64bit]#
The default installation directory is /usr/java, but the package jdk-1.7.0_09-fcs is not in /usr/java. I search the entire file system, but the packagejdk-1.7.0_09-fcs is not in any other directories.
    My questions are:
First, the package jdk-1.7.0_09-fcs is not in any directory. Why the message says "package jdk-1.7.0_09-fcs is already installed" ?
Second, I try to install it into another location /JDK7 and get the same message as above. What's wrong ?
Third, do I need to remove entire directory /usr and then reinstall it ?
    Thanks.
code formatting Message was edited by: NicolasGasparotto

Don't delete /usr or you'll be reinstalling your OS.
since you installed with rpm, you should have removed with rpm. deleting the files installed by rpm does not remove the package from the rpm database.
    try doing
rpm -Uvh --force jdk-7u9-linux-x64.rpmto reinstall over top the existing package
man rpmgives you all the documentation and there is countless pieces of information available online. It sounds like you should read up on Linux Administration basics. Administering/Installing PeopleSoft requires some skill in operating systems, without them you will run into potential problems all over the place.

  • Installation error message for Oracle Database software for version 10g

Would someone be able to advise why I keep getting the following error message whilst installing Oracle trial Database software for version 10g Release 2 Standard Edition, Standard Edition One, and Enterprise Edition? Link listed below : -
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/database/oracle10g/index.html
    Error message "Cannot create directory"C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_7\cfgtoollogs\dbca\projemp"
Below is the 12 steps that I go through, please advise what I'm doing wrong : -
    1. (Operations) default is Create a database
    2. (Database templetes) default is general purpose
    3. (Database Identification) projemp.local for Global database name & projemp for SID
    4. (Management options) default is "Configure the database with Enterprise manager, also the options button has been clicked for "Use database control for database management"
    5. (Database Credentials) the options button has been clicked for "Use the same password for all accounts" so I've set up a new password, was that correct?
    6. (Storage options) the options button is clicked for "File System - use the file system for database storage.
    7. (Database file locations) the options button is clicked for "Use database file locations for template" Is this option correct? Other options are Use common location for all database files or use Oracle-managed files?
    8. (Recovery configuration) the options button is clicked for "Specify flash recovery area
    9. (Database content) nothing has been selected, the only option is "Sample schemas" should that be clicked?
    10. (Initialization parameters) the options button is clicked for "Typical- allocate memory as a % of the total physical memory
    11. (Database storage) no options available
    12. (Creation options) the options button has been selected for "Create Database"
    Click finish
I then get a screen stating General purpose, click OK then I get the following error message as stated at the start of this e-mail ""Cannot create directory"C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_7\cfgtoollogs\dbca\projemp".

    >
I've gone through my courses instructions as listed above (1-12) and end up with the following error message"C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_7\cfgtoollogs\dbca\projemp".What course?
    >
I've removed the software from my computer using control panel, programs & features then uninstall once but the other five times the software hasn't been listed. Whilst the Oracle was on my task bar I was able to install using Start > Programs > Oracle - HOME-NAME > Database Administration > Database Configuration Assistant. No you didn't. Database Configuration Assistant does not remove software. It can remove a database. As I mentioned before, there is a difference between the software and the objects that software manages. Deleting an Excel spreadsheet is not the same as deleting Microsoft Office. Deleting an Oracle database with Database configuration assistant is not the same as removing the Oracle software.
    >
Now that oracle is not on my task bar I've unzipped the link below, clicked on db, Disk1, setup, changed the Database password (is that correct?) install and I get the following error message "Check complete. The overall result of this check is: Failed<<<<<
Problem: The install has detected that the primary IP address of the system is DHCP-assigned.
    Recommendation: Oracle supports installations on systems with DHCP-assigned IP addresses;
However, before you can do this, you must configure the Microsoft LoopBack Adaptor to be the primary network adapter on the system. See the installation Guide for more details on installing the software on systems configured with DHCP."
So what did you do with the above error message? Did you follow up on what it said? Did you read the very fine Installation Guide that comes with the software? Did you read the section on networking considerations where it discussed DHCP assigned addresses and installing the loopback adapter?
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/database/oracle10g/index.html
Ok, that link takes us to the download page, which does not shed any light at all on your problems
I'm using Windows Vista Home Premium, 32 bit operating system, and my computer is saying I have 142 GB free space.
If you read the installation manual that came with the downloaded software, you'd have seen in the prerequisites that Home editions of Windows are NOT listed as supported platforms, whereas Business, Enterprise, and Ultimate editions specifically ARE listed as supportd.
    Hope this is some help.And
I'm not to clever on computers so would you be able to advise how I get to the command window to issue the SET command please?
Also I've no idea what OS user I am, I'm taking an on-line Oracle course and been advised to install "Oracle Database software for version 10g Release 2 Standard Edition, Standard Edition One, and Enterprise Edition"
How do I find out if I'm part of an Administrator, ORA_DBA group ?
Can you walk me through how to create the directory from command line please?Ok, given the above statements from you, I'm not even sure where to begin. I don't want to be cruel, but this self-admitted lack of even the most rudimentary knowledge by someone attempting to learn about Oracle is truly astounding. What course are you taking? Why are you taking this course?

  • Oracle 8i linux version

    Dear all
I got a Oracle 8i EE license and was installed at a Sun system. However, I want to migrate such Oracle to Linux environment (The Oracle maintenance was expired). So, anyone has the Oracle 8i EE Linux version which can be downloaded for my new installation.
    Thanks

You still should contact your Oracle sales representative.
Oracle no longer officially provides copies of obsolete versions of software, such as database versions 8.1.x or 9.0.x ... the only way to get such copies is by the kindness of strangers who might have such copies. Those strangers include your sales rep.

  • How to create a database on linux

Good day friends Oracle forum, I started with Linux and have installed on a linux server with the Oracle 10g installation wizard, now my question is how I believe the database in windows did so through the wizard and configure all linux data but do not know how Algueña can help me with this step.
    Very grateful

    Hi,
Have you able to run DBCA successfully?
If not kindly post the LINUX version in which your have installed oracle and also confirm that you did not got any error during your installation. It seems that you have missing prerequisite rpm.
    Thanks,
    Karthik

  • I install at the new update cc2014 but for some reason in my computer appear double app the old one and the new  but the new dose not gave the setup that I have in my old version! What happen ?

I install at the new update cc2014 but for some reason in my computer appear double app the old one and the new  but the new dose not gave the setup that I have in my old version! What happen ?

Seriously, I doubt that your answer helped Erik.  He has two issues.
He installed the new program and has a double icon folders with software. One for the new &  one for the old.  (I have this same problem.)
He must have attempted to open one of the products and no longer see his personal settings transferred over.  (The install will ask to have those settings migrating, but you have to accept it. eh, I could be wrong; but, that what i remembered doing.
    I concur with his first.
However, i can not get any of my products to work.  Ie. have to constantly click on icon to open; once open i get a unexpected error and have to close. I'm on a mac pro w/ latest os system.
In addition, I have tried to uninstall the older by clicking on the application's manager icon.; Unfortunately, it shuts down at each attempt.  Therefore, I am unable to un-install the old product or the new.
Possibly, we were hoping that the new product would be simply updated if an old recent was already installed.
Instead, the installation simply created a new icon and the new folder with product.

Get the official installation guides at
    http://service.sap.com/instguides
However, they won't contain "now enter command X and now enter command Y". You will need to have a basic understanding what you are doing before you can install a SAP system (and the database).

  • Trying to find a mozilla download site to download firefox for windows using a linux version because my windows version isn't working.

There are several sites that offer Firefox downloads.
I don't trust any of them except mozilla.org
But I can't find a download button on mozilla.
I'm using Linux because my firefox on Windows 7 stopped working and the default download seems to be for a Linux version of firefox.
How can I download a windows version?
Why did Firefox stop working. I was downloading a program -- Tunein Radio - and it looked as if it was installing junkware.
I stopped the download but it seems to have already installed something called file opener. I uninstalled fire opener.
That may have caused the problem

hello, you'll find download links for all supported systems & languages at https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/
if you suspect that the problem on your system is caused by malware it is probably advisable to run a full scan of your system with different security tools like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes] & [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner], which are specialised in adware and browser hijackers.
