At least weekly, the 'share' icon disappears from most things (specifically, take a picture, view the picture, can't 'share' the picture since the icon is gone).
Have to restart the phone to get the share icon and function back.
Usually, but not always, when I notice the share icon has gone AWOL, the phone is also not receiving any incoming BBMs, texts or emails, even though wireless connectivity is OK (usually LTE) and the BBM icon is present.
Once the phone restarts, pending messages are received, and all is good until the next time...
I've been unable to detect any pattern, i.e. share goes missing after x,y,z. It just seems random.

O.k. Thanks for the clarification. I poked around in my TimeCapsule router's settings (TimeCapsule is an Apple Airport Extreme router with attached hard drive for wireless backup/storage). Unfortunately, it doesn't look like I can disable multicasting with the TimeCapsule. I can change the multicasting 'rate'. Settings are Low, Medium, High. It's currently set to Low.
I did a few web searches, and found an Apple.com article: <http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3789?viewlocale=en_US> which explained how to disable Bonjour Service Advertisements. I believe this is the same thing as 'Multicasting'. The process is a modification of "/System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.mDNSResponder.plist", and a restart of the Mac is required afterwards.
I'm a bit concerned that disabling multicasting will interfere with my AppleTVs and iTunes music sharing, but I may try it next time I'm up for a computer workout. This task will require editing of system preference files, could require multiple restarts, might interfere with my AppleTVs, could interfere with my iTunes file sharing, doesn't have a documented relationship to my problem.
This is way to difficult for something that should just work. Did you say you had read something about a relationship between this bonjour multicasting and smb connectivity? If it was online could you post the link?
I'm currently able to connect to the drive using NFS, but I have to manually configure that connection each time I reboot (can't get the 'Disk Utility' configured to do it automatically). While it's working with NFS, it's not my preferred connect method (for various reasons).

I am trying to share 3 iCloud calendars, but I do not see any options when I click on the Share icon.

I have several calendars on my iCloud, and I want to share 3 of them with my wife. I am using Safari 6.0 on Mountain Lion (10.8), and when I go to my calendars on iCloud, I see all of the calendars listed in the left column. The three I want to share already have an active Share icon (green), although I do not recall sharing these calendars in the past.
When I click on the Share icon beside each Calendar, it shows that the calendar is shared with myself. There is NO OPTION in this window for unsharing, or adding my wife to the share, or making them a Public or Private Calendar. The only option is a check box that allows me to decide whether to receive emails alerts when something is changed.
I currently see all of my iCloud Calendars on my iPhone, iPad, and Mac Powerbook (running Mountain Lion). I share them with no one else. I have three Calendars that I do not want to share, and they have the options described in the Online Support, but the three I want to share with her give me NO OPTIONS.

I should clarify that I am using a MacBook Pro, not Powerbook (if that's the proper nomenclature).

Unexpected behaviour in case of single value selection by using share point excel service

If multiple values are passed to pivot table filter using share point excel service, filter is showing “multiple” text on filter. If user expands the filter, the passed values are showing as checked ones.
Example: ‘India’ and ‘US’ values are passed ‘Country’ filter of pivot table using excel services. Filter is showing ‘multiple’ text on filter and if user expands the filter, ‘India’ and ‘US’ values are showing as checked ones.

Libreoffice upgrade error: /usr/share/icons/locolor/... already exists

In trying to upgrate libreoffice today, I get a bunch of errors about files in /usr/share/icons already existing. I checked a bunch and they weren't owned, so I started removing them using `updatedb` followed by `locate libreoffice` to track down those various icon folders and remove them. Unfortunately, the upgrade still fails with complaints about files already existing in /usr/share/icons/locolor/16x16 and ../32x32.
The problem is that /usr/share/icons/locolor is completely empty. `sudo ls -la /usr/share/icons/locolor` returns nothing, and `locate libreoffice` doesn't get any hits at that location.
Is there somewhere else pacman stores a cache or tmp file of what it thinks exists in the filesystem? I already did `pacman -Rsc libreoffice-common` and `pacman -Scc` to remove cached packages. No I'm simply trying to install fresh and I get the same errors.
This is on a computer that I haven't used in quite some time... could a skip of some intermediate version of libreoffice have caused some issues in the various icon locations or package contents? I'm stumped as to why it would think something exists that doesn't

@Roken: re-read my post to see what the problem is. I have deleted any instances of libreoffice-* inside /usr/share/icons.
The problem is that pacman is complaining about /usr/share/icons/locolor/.../libreoffice-* files that do not exist. /usr/share/icons/locolor empty and yet pacman thinks there's files in it!
Per the rest of your comment, appreciated. I practice the same -- for libreoffice, I figure without it installed, I can delete anything to do with libreoffice (I had no custom setups, templates, etc.). I wouldn't dream of it with various libraries, as you mention, without checking the Arch website of forums first.

The Home share icon has disappeared

I Have had apple TV for a week now, yesterday the home share icon dissapeared from the top of the page on my MAC air. I can stream Music and share photo's with Pioneer TV but cannot share anything viewd on my Mac. Apple tv is otherwise working fine ? Any help appreciated.

The icon will only appear if your device or computer is logged onto a Wi-Fi network which has an AirPlay-enabled recipient, such as Apple TV (2nd generation or 3rd generation).
If you are still unable to see the AirPlay icon, try one of the following steps:
Verify that your AirPlay-enabled devices have the most up-to-date software or firmware.
Verify that your iOS device has Wi-Fi turned on. Enable Wi-Fi on your iOS device by going to Settings > Wi-Fi.
Verify that all your AirPlay-enabled devices are logged on to the same home Wi-Fi network (check the home network names on your devices to confirm).
If trying to AirPlay, or AirPlay mirror, to your Apple TV (2nd or 3rd generation), ensure that AirPlay is enabled on your Apple TV as well. You can enable or disable AirPlay on Apple TV in the AirPlay menu: Settings > AirPlay
Check Internet or network connectivity on all affected devices.

Unable to send a document (office) via the share icon - the share via email choice is grey'd out

HI, only since this week... I have been unable to "Share" any document/excel sheet/ANY FORMAT document by email.
My only choice is to attach the document to a new email.
I have Macbook Pro OS X 10.8.2
I use the Apple Mail client...
It was working last week and now - the options have been grey'd out
I can "share" from Safari - strangely.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then take the action that isn't working the way you expect. Select any lines that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.

I have locked my folio. I have sent the email invitation from the indesign panel.
There are no sharing icons showing up?
Also...i can share a locked folio, right?
