Shared Computer Outlook E-mail Accounts

I created a form with a custom e-mail submit button that sends the PDF form to the next approver that is selected by the user from a drop-down list. The form works correctly on computers that have only one Outlook e-mail account but the submit buttons do not work correctly when employess are sharing a computer (muliple Outlook e-mail accounts). Is there a way that when the Send By E-mail button is clicked, Outlook would, "ask" which account it should open?
Edit:
IT was able to help me with proper terminology that may elaborate this issue a bit.  Many users may share the same computer, under the same windows login username.  To facilitate them being able connect to their individual email accounts, we setup Email Profiles by going into Control Panel > Mail (in Windows).  We cannot select a default profile so we check the box for "prompt for profile to be used", which should come into play whenever the users opens Outlook or hits a "mailto" or "send to email" button from another application.  The user will see a "choose profile" window appear and they can proceed to enter their username/password upon selection of their Email profile.  Adobe seems to skip the "choose profile" window and will instead choose the first email profile we created on the machine, and ask for its username & password.  Although one might think we could just put in the correct username and password, that does not work since Adobe (or perhaps windows) is trying to authenticate the wrong email account.

Thanks-
Do you or does anyone else know of a way to use the MAPILogonEx function that is mentioned in the following Microsoft support page?  Perhaps it is hard-coded and not something that can be changed.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306962
Particularly:
Use the MAPILogonEx function
When you call the MAPILogonEx function without specifying a profile and by setting the MAPI_LOGON_UI flag, MAPI displays the profile creation wizard if no profiles are on the computer. If profiles exist, MAPI displays the Choose Profile dialog box. Click New to start the profile creation wizard. (Since we have profiles created, it should display the choose profile dialog).
More information also found here:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/dd296726(v=vs.85).aspx
I'm wondering if our form/adobe is currently using MAPI_PASSWORD_UI which would choose a default profile

Wondering how to create new folders for my Outlook 365 mail account. I know with pc all I had to do was to left mouse click.

New folder where? If you added the account in Mail app it should of created the folders to store that email automatically.
What email program are you using?

  • Always have to manually re-connect Outlook 2007 mail account

I get my office mail from an Outlook server and have set up the mail account as an Office 2007 account. I used to have it set up as an IMAP account, and this problem didn't occur.
So every time I open up my laptop, all the other mail accounts re-connect just fine, only that Outlook account won't - it shows that "lightning bolt" symbol, I have to click it to get the option "connect all mail accounts", then it connects just fine and gets my new mail.
So how can I make it connect automatically? I might have to add that I'm going through a VPN connection.

    Hi,
Generally, whether Public Folder is connected or not, it does not affect
    mail delivery.
I'd like to ask the following question to narrow down the issue:
1, Is there the same issue when using OWA?
2, How did you attach a public folder in outlook?
3, When the affected user use outlook 2007 on a computer, which belong to the not affected user, does the issue persist?
4, How about using other outlook version (like outlook 2010 or 2013)?
    Thanks.

  • Importing Outlook 2010 Mail account settings from one copy of Office 2010, to another copy of Office 2919

I am trying to export my E-mail ACCOUNT settings from one copy of Outlook 2010 so that I can import them in another copy of Office 2010 on a different computer.  Again, BOTH computers have Office 2010 on them.  While I can move the PST file, my
E-mail account information never comes across.  How can I do that without having to enter each account separately.  Also is it normal for the E-mail accounts to show up as DATA FILES rathan than E-MAIL FILES?  I've never come this in the past.
    Thanks.

As JHarris1993 said, this is BOSS! Thank you.
I used this solution to recreate a profile I was using under one Windows 7 account in another account on the same machine. The profile was successfully recreated but I noticed that the email accounts in the profile were still pointing to the data files from
the other account, which is not surprising at all.
Unfortunately no easy way exists for re-pointing email accounts to alternate file locations. I have five different email accounts in this profile (2 IMAP, 2 Outlook Hotmail Connector and one Exchange), and looks like there are solutions and workaround for
each type of account which work with varying degrees of success.
Changing location of pst data file for
    IMAP email account
    Changing
location of ost data file for an Exchange email account
Changing location of ost data file for a Hotmail Connector email account

  • All contacts gone after deleting old Outlook (exchange) mail account from iphone.  How to get contacts back?

I deleted an old company mail account and when doing so it deleted all the contacts on the iphone.  How can I get them back?  Can I do a restore where I import ONLY the contacts?  Or does Restore just overwrite everything?
When I connect my phone with itunes and go to the "Info" tab, it asks me if I want to "Sync Contacts with Outlook" where outlook is a choice from a dropdown menu.  The question I have is what contacts are stored on itunes, if any, and which way it will write them --->  phone to itunes or itunes to phone.  Since my phone contact folder is empty right now, I want to get these back from itunes.  I am hoping those outlook contacts are stored on itunes and can then be downloaded to my phone, but I do not want to do a complete restore as the last time the phone was synced was a long time ago and contacts will be lost.  If the sync writes an empty contacts folder onto itunes then the restore will not even be an option.  Just want to make sure I do not overwrite any contacts that are stored on itunes.
By the way, icloud for contacts was not on so I do not have that route of recovery.
    Help.

Exchange contacts exist only on the Exchange server, and are automatically deleted when the account is remove.  This is standard security policy of Exchange accounts.  They would not have been backed up to iCloud in any event.

  • About outlook 2013 mail account (TO/ CC) issue

    Hi every expert:
I have a question about outlook development. Can I add custom-made icon in front of the mail account (TO/CC). As show below.

No, there is no trivial way to get the job done. The Outlook extensibility model doesn't provide anything for that.
But you can try to subclass an Outlook window and replace the standard view. See
Adjucent windows in Outlook. As an alternative, you may try to use CompleteReplacement layout from Advanced Outlook Form regions (Add-in Express).

  • How do we access iTune purchases on a shared computer? Only one account is seen although each can log into our separate accounts.

My wife and I have separate iTunes accounts and we share a Windows 7 PC. When she logs in to iTunes to sync her library / purchases, it only displays my playlist and purchases. To recap: Separate accounts, logged in as separate account holders, iPhone 3gs, updated OS, iTunes correctly displays connected iPhone for account holder. Can anyone help?

    Emma,
If two people have separate libraries on the same computer, it is best to put them into two separate Windows User accounts.
Go to Start > Control Panel > User Accounts > Add User Accounts, and get her set up in a separate user account.  Then move all her stuff there and from then on the two of you can operate independently on the same computer.

  • I didn't set up my outlook on my ipad mail app; how did it know/input my e-mail account?

I didn't set up my outlook e-mail account on my ipad mail app; how did it know/input my e-mail account?
I went to my mail app today, with the intention of setting it up with my e-mail account for the first time.  All of the e-mail associated with my outlook account was already there.  There does not appear to be a sign in or out for the app and I never set it up.  No one that uses my Ipad set it up.  My Itunes account, etc. is associated with that e-mail, but how did the information get synced there?

Follow up:  Is it somehow associated with my wireless network at home?  Am I only able to access the e-mail account on my mail app while I am sharing the server that my outlook account is associated with?

  • I tried several times to setup a mail account with Thunderbird, but next time I boot the computer and start Thunderbird, no account is shown.

I bought a new desktop PC with Win 8.1 and installed Firefox and Thunderbird.
Then, I tried to configure the e-mail account manually (as IMAP) following the instructions provided here: https://support-en.upc-cablecom.ch/app/answers/detail/a_id/22 , but failed to configure the smtp outgoing mail server correctly (I could receive mail, but not send them). Subsequently, I deleted that account. Then, I launched the automatic mail setting tool provided by UPC Cablecom under the link http://www.upc-cablecom.ch/content/dam/www-upc-cablecom-ch/Support/executables/upc-cablecom-email-assistent.exe and it did successfully setup the account, however as a POP3 account. As I was not happy with it, I deleted the POP3 incoming mail server (and lost the received e-mails, of course...) and retried a manual setup. Doing so, I obtained an incoming IMAP mail account plus two outgoing SMTP server (comparing them, I also understood the configuration mistake I had done the first time). I then deleted the manual SMTP server as the automatically setup server worked properly.
In this context, both receiving and sending e-mail worked OK. However, the next time I started the computer, the e-mail account disappeared and Thunderbird asked me to setup a new account again. I successfully set it up manually one more time, but the same problem surfaced again at the next boot, the e-mail account was gone...!
Thanks in advance for your help!

Check what profile is being used.
AppMenu button - Help - Troubleshooting Information - Profile Directory - Open Directory
Your profile folder should open in Windows Explorer. What is the profile location?
Reboot your computer and repeat the steps above. Has the profile folder changed?

As far as I am aware Outlook.com still only supports ActiveSync, POP3, or a web-browser. Of these only POP3 is supported by Apple Mail. An iPhone does support ActiveSync as well as POP3.
While in theory you could therefore use POP3 in Apple Mail, frankly I would not bother. Use a 'real' mail service like GMail from Google which supports IMAP4 instead.
Microsoft have said since they (re)launched Outlook.com that they were looking at ways of improving the service for use with Apple Mail (over the ancient POP3 protocol). So far there has been zero progress and all their other products for Mac are still crippled compared to their Windows equivalents so I would not hold my (or your) breath.

  • Outlook to Mail (POP account)

Hey guys, recently I decided to make a switch from Outlook 2011 to Mail, and there's a quick question I'd like to ask.
One of my mail accounts in Outlook was a POP account which I already closed on the server. Prior to closing it, I downloaded all its mails to my Outlook so I currently have that entire POP account in "On My Computer" section in Outlook.
I would just like to know how to import this POP account into my Mail app so that I could access it at any time? I had no problem with my other (IMAP) accounts because they synced by themselves, but moving that POP account is a bit confusing.

Ok I found a workaround for it. What I did was install Entourage 2008, then I created a separate folder on my desktop for each of my Outlook Yahoo POP mail folders and drag-n-dropped them from Outlook to my desktop. Then I created folders with the same names in my Entourage and drag-n-dropped the folders from my desktop into the same folders that I created in Entourage one by one.
Finally, I opened my Mail app and clicked Mailbox > New Mailbox and selected "ON MY MAC." Then created a folder and used the File > Import Mailboxes option to import everything from Entourage. A bit of work, but it did the trick so now I have the POP mail I had in my Outlook in my Mail app.

  • How Connect to Shared Mail Account

Trying to use Mail to connect to a shared mailbox (on a CGP server).
Scenario: one "support@" mail account that needs to be accessed by multiple people.
I have the account set up on Communigate Pro and have configured both mailbox Subscriptions and aliases, but I cannot get Apple Mail to retrieve messages from the shared account. CGP says it will support this with POP and IMAP, and I have tried both. The server is set up correctly, because using the webmail interface, everything looks right.
Is Mail even capable of supporting this?
    G5   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

Tell us about the account's config on your Mac and
describe what happens when you try to get mail:
Mailbox > Get New Mail. Open up the activity viewer
(Window > Activity Viewer) so you can see that's
    happening.
    Hi John,
It's not a basic connectivity issue. It's an issue of viewing multiple mailboxes on the server.
If I connect two users (Bill and Bob) each via IMAP to the Support account, and each is using the Support acct name and password, then who ever receives the message first is the only one to ever see it. Not the desired behavior.
So, I figured out how to use Communigate Pro (CGP) shared accounts. This is done by adding users (Bill and Bob) to an access control list for each of the Support mailboxes (Inbox, Drafts, etc). I then configure the Bill and Bob accounts with Subscriptions to the Support mailboxes.
If I use the CGP webmail interface, I can log in as Bill and indeed have access to Bill's mailboxes and Support's mailboxes. Perfect.
The CGP docs make it sound like any "decent," as they say, IMAP client should be able to see these shared mailboxes, and that's indeed how bosses have secretaries pre-filter mail, how support teams share a common mailbox so they can see what is coming in, has been, sent, what's in progress, etc.
So, how to get Apple Mail (as the user Bill) to see those Support mailboxes?
I have tried a POP setup for the Bill account, and all I get is Bill's mail. No hint of Support mail being anywhere.
I have tried an IMAP setup for the Bill account, and all I get is Bill's mail. No hint of Support mail being anywhere.
CGP also has something called mailbox aliases that is supposed to be for mail clients that do not support shared mailboxes (they specifically identify Outlook and Outlook Express). So I tried that setup too, but had no difference in the results.
I'm trying CGP's support too, but they don't seem to have an Apple Mail knowledge at all.
I've googled for a couple hours now to no avail.

  • How do i set up an e-mail account on my ipad 2 using outlook express 6

i'm having problems receiving and sending e-mail on my ipad 2. My existing e-mail account on my windows pc is using outlook express 6. I've entered all the pop settings but nothing happens

No error messages or anything? If your OE is still running and is using POP, there won't be any email for you to retrieve with your iPad because OE has downloaded the email to your computer. To sync email between your computer and your iPad you need to use IMAP settings on both your computer and iPad, not POP.

  • Transfer mail accounts from Outlook 2003 to Outlook 2013

    Hello friends!
We changing computers in the office
and I would appreciate some help.
We are moving from Windows XP and
    Outlook 2003 to
    Windows 8.1 and
    Outlook 2013.
That we can transfer mails with
    pst-files I know,
but does anyone have a solution how to transfer
    our e-mail accounts.
Each computer has 7 accounts linked
to it and I'd rather not do it manually.
    Is there any solution?
    Many thanks for your help!
    Kind regards:

Hello friend, please read this thread:
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/office_2013_release-outlook/migrating-e-mail-account-from-outlook-2003-to-2013/e98d7a3b-2b1a-43b1-b2aa-3aeff173292d?msgId=272189da-d6a1-4062-bcb7-e1a321b402e9
I would say it's not a stable way since the profile may easily get corrupted, so some people think it's not possible to complete the migration.
Use Auto account setup and let Outlook 2013 set the accounts up for you.
    older versions:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles\
    Outlook 2013 profiles:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Profiles
    The steps at
Moving outlook to a new computer apply to both Outlook 2010 and 2013.
