Shared line appearance for FXS phones on SPA9000

Hello again!
(I hope asking these different questions in separate threads makes it easier.. not harder.)
If I'm using shared line appearance, can my FXS (regular cordless phones) pick up lines on hold? Can they put a line on hold? Is it easy?

I've never read or seen anything about SLA on the FXS ports.. but I guess you can always just try and see what happens. Configure one FXS port with the same userid as the shared line and see what happens if you put a call on hold. Since hook flash is used to put a call on hold / take it back, I figure if it worked, all it takes would be going off-hook and you'd have the call, and do a hook flash to put it back on hold.
There are two essential pieces to tracking down a problem with your VoIP equipment:
The configuration of every device involved
SIP protocol traces
And don't forget: there's no such thing as giving too much information when describing a problem.

    The underlined sentence does not working.

    <Question 2>
    The difference what was written in this potsed threads is that the Line key3's extension is not "Disabled" but another EXT number. (for example EXT1, or )

    Does a phone should register with not only its own number but also shared line phone's number ?
    Does it correct configuration for Shared line appearance ???
    <Question 4>
    2000 call to 3000, 3000 answer, 2000 and 3000 is connected.
    3000's line 1's LED is red and icon is  "3000 <-->".
    5000's shared line 3 's LED is red and blink intermittently and icon is "sip3000 <-->".
    If I push the shared line 3(sip3000) at 5000. call was picked up, thus 2000 and 5000 was connected.
    BUT, At 3000 there is no lines are turn RED (it means that the shared line is not monitored).
    I think the shared line "sip5000" at 3000 should be turn RED.
    Is it normal operation ?
    <Question 5>
    and finally, what scenarios does spa9000 supports with related to SLA?
    A --> B(C), C(B) ring simultaneously.
    hold, resume by each other.
    transfer or conference
    pickup established user by push shared line.
    what else ? If is there any service scenario document please let me know.
    what about intercom?
    When sceretary answer a call, how to let boss know? just seize a new line, make a call and transfer after answer ?
    or, assign new line with func like intercom and push that line to notice a new call to boss and then
    transfer or hold by sceretary resume by boss etc.,

    as of now its hard to tell the exact problem with your setup. i suggest that you try to reconfigure the device again. you may also try to check the admin guide for the device.

  • How to configure multiple line appearance in IP Phone 7931

    hi everybody, in this moment i try to configure a cisco IP Phone 7931 with multilple line appearance in a CCM 6.1.2, for example: button1 ptn1:dn 6512; button2 ptn2:dn 6512; button3 ptn3:dn 6512 and more, because i found that in this phone does not capture all calls and you can not select which one answer, due to the second call grind the first call, please any commentary thank you in advance.

  • UCCX and Shared Line appearances

    If an acd group also has a shared line ( not the acd line dn ) on each of the acd sets, will that affect the agents' wrap up timer, and if so which bug report is that documented on?

    1.  We have had on several occurrences a situation where we (people in the office using the 941 phones) can hear the caller (or person we call outgoing), but they are unable to hear any sound from us.  Rebooting the SPA400 has seemed to solve the problem.  The problem has happened at least 5 times today, each time requiring a reset of the SPA400 before the external side of the party is able to hear us.
    ---try setting VAD to ON , set preffered coder to g711u on the spa400, don't forget the magic power cycle after saving settings.

    2. All of our 941's have their "prviate extension" configured on the first line button, and a Shared extension configured on the remaining 3 buttons.  When I first setup the system, after a call was answered on the shared extension, the other phones would continue to show the light blinking red until the caller who answered the call disconnects.  Something has changed in our system where now once the call is answered, the other "shared" phones immediately go back to a green light.  Any idea what I might have changed to cause this change in behavior of the system?
    Thanks in advance.

    Our configuration is SPA9000, SPA400 (3 PTSN lines), with SPA941 phones.  We are only using PTSN lines at this point.

  • Just did the on line update for 3g phone and wiped out all my songs. I have the songs still on my laptop but now phone won't sync

    How can I get my phone to sync and put the songs back? I also made back up discs but it won't sync.

    Thanks but I solved the problem...it was really simple. Out of 160GB I had only used 34GB, so I knew I had space. What happened was in the process of downloading songs I also downloaded a few episodes of United States of Tara, which was taking a long time to download so even though it said I had 1019 songs the 26 undownloaded were on iCloud, not on my computer. So I paused the downloading of my episodes so my songs could finish downloading. Now my iPod and computer are in sync.
    I don't know how this works so I'll give the points anyway, for being the only one who attempted to solve my problem.

  • I was sharing same id for 2 phones.i deleted my photo stream my one phone stream of other phone was off wether these photos save in i cloud?? how to delete from both phones

    i was sharind my apple id with my sister . i made some photos from my phone after that i deleted them from my stream .my sister,s stream was off.there is no photo on her phone but is that possible these photos might b saved on i cloud?? if so how to delete them

    I had my phone replaced by Apple on the 8th February at the Apple centre in Trafford Centre. They asked me if I wanted to download my information from iCloud which I had last saved on the 6th February. The photos that were download were not my photographs. Some of them were of a highly explicit nature of persons (male/female) whom I do not know. The couple in question would be mortified to know I have received their intimate photographs off iCloud. All the photos were deleted and I was told an iCloud representative would get in touch with in a couple of days, which they did not. Since then I have been on to Apple again about a differed matter and they tried to get my original photos back on my phone but again these initiate explicit photos were downloaded to my iPhone. My 13 year old niece has been staying and has used my phone but thankfully did not look at the photos.  I have complained to Apple and had no satisfaction and I found their representative Alex de Matos rude and condescending, He also told me this had never happened before, he needs to read this website. I am now going to get in touch with the Trading Standards agency and the Data Protection agency as Apple have violated principle 5.

  • Shared line sometimes does not ring on some phones

    I'm having a strange issue that appeared a couple of weeks ago.  I have not made any upgrades since October so I don't think that's the issue.  I'm running CUCM 8.5.1.15900-4.
    The issue is that one of my phone's shared line appearance does not ring while the others are ringing.  It seems like that phone is omitted from the broadcast sometimes.  This doesn't happen all the time.  Most of the time, all the phones with the shared line appearance will ring.  I'm not sure if it is only happening on this phone.  It is very hard to reproduce.
    Has anyone had this issue?  What are some debugs I can collect to show what physical phones CUCM is ringing when the calls are coming in.  I want to confirm that it is omitting that particular phone.
    Vince

    Hi Jeff,
    I never went as far as to open a TAC case.
    Most things I tried have corrected the issue temporarily (resetting the DN in CUCM, resetting the phones, upgrading firmware). I acutally upgraded CUCM from 8.6 to 9.1.2 just under a year ago and haven't had the "ringing" issue on the shared line since then. Not entirely sure if that was the reason though.
    Since that upgrade I have other issues with this same shared line, most notably held calls not showing up on all the phones at intermittent times. 9 times out of 10 resetting the DN corrects this for about 6 months. That other 1 time, a reset via CUCM doesn't actually reset the phone and I either have to physically unplug power from the phone or do a shut/no shut on the switchport (effectively power cycling the phone).
    I've created a job under bulk administration that resets the phones once a week (during closed hours). My thinking was these phones are like computers and need to be rebooted every now and again....

  • Shared line LCD issue

    Customer is running CCM 4.2(3) and has 7960s with 7914s setup with shared line appearances to monitor the other users. When a shared line is ringing on the 7914, the 7960 shows the call info on the LCD of the 7960. The receptionists don't want to see that. They only want the status to show on the 7914. I've tried the Always Use Prime Line setting, but didn't work.
    I know its just a setting somewhere I'm missing.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks,
    Kevin

    Under 4.2(x) this BLF is (only) used for the new "Directed Call Park" feature, and cannot be used for "monitoring" a shared line. As far as I know, this is part of the 5.x releases (together with a Presence Server?).
    Trying to suppress (or minimise) the displayed info on the receptionists , you could try to change the "Line Settings for this Device", "Ring Setting (Phone Idle) & (Phone Active)" to disable, and deselect all options under the "Forwarded Call Information Display".
    Also leave (set) the "Auto Line Select" to "Disabled", otherwise they risc the possibility to pickup accidently a "shared line".
    Succes.

  • Hunt Group Shared Line question

    Customer has the following call routing scenario:
    CCM 4.2(3)
    CTI Route Point is CFwdAll to a Hunt Pilot.
    Hunt Pilot contains Hunt List containing a broadcast Hunt Group of 5 phones.
    4 of these 5 phones each have the other phones' shared line appearances (ring disabled) so they can see if they are on the phone.
    Issue - When incoming call hits the CTI RP, it then goes to the Hunt Pilot, Hunt List, then it "should" ring all the phones in the hunt group. But it only rings the very first DN in the Hunt Group and the DN of the phone that is not setup as a shared line on the other phones. The 4 phones that have each other's DNs setup as shared lines only see the call info popup on the LCD screen showing that the first DN is receiving the call, but their phone doesn't ring.
    As a test, I switched the order of the hunt group DNs. After the switch, I realized that only the first number in the broadcast hunt group will ring. Kind of defeats the purpose of a broadcast hunt group. :(
    I am starting to see where the issue may come from. If a phone has shared lines setup for DNs that are in a broadcast hunt group, each time a call comes in, then the phones would fill up the LCD with the call info for the 4 shared line DNs.
    Any suggestions on allowing phones to be in a broadcast hunt group, and having shared line appearances to monitor the status of the other phones in the hunt group?
    Thanks,
    Kevin

    Hi Kevin,
    You are right on the money! Here is an odd tech note that applies to CCM 4.1.X , 4.2.X and 5.0.x. The reason I say odd is that it is hard to read or make sense of, but it is saying exactly what you have discovered.
    Note: Do not put DNs that are shared lines in a line group that uses the Broadcast distribution algorithm. Cisco CallManager cannot display all DNs that are shared lines on devices where the DNs are configured as shared lines if the DNs are members of a line group that uses the Broadcast distribution algorithm.
    From this doc;
    Cisco CallManager Administration Guide, Release 4.1(3) Line Group Configuration
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps556/products_administration_guide_chapter09186a00803ed665.html#wp1036009
    In the current environment I can't think of a good way to accomplish your goal of being able to monitor each others activity while using Broadcast hunting.
    I know this doesn't help, but at least you know why it works the way it does. (and have some documentation)
    Take care!

  • SPA525G2 - blinking line button for incoming calls

    Hi,
    I'm using a UC560 and SPA525G2 (some with 500S expansions) phones at a customer's site. At the moment all extensions at the receptionists' phones are configured as monitor lines, however there are only two states that indicate if the target extension is busy (button LED flashing red) or idle (button LED not flashing).
    How can I configure the buttons/LEDs to blink when an extensions is called, so that the receptionsts can pickup the call via PickUp function?
    I'm not even sure if this feature is available for 52G2, unfortunately the reference guide isn't very helpful either.
    Kind Regards,
    Rainhard

    Unfortunatly there is no way to do that. However you can set the lines to be shared and appear on receptionist phone. Alternatively I have developed a small console that display all phones status, that includes ringing status. More details are in the website mentioned in my profile.

  • Allowing CFA for a phone in a Hunt Group

    I have CCM v5.13. Several users are members of a hunt group, and claim that they used to be able to call forward their phones and not receive any calls from the Hunt Pilot. I've made some changes to the Hunt Pilot, and ever since they say when they call forward their phones, it only works for calls made directly to their DID number , and that calls from the Hunt Pilot still ring on their phones.
    I've researched this, and found Bug CSCec54565, which states that Cisco recognizes the issue, but has no plans to fix it. The recommended work around is to call the DID number directly, not through the Hunt Pilot. This doesn't work for my set up because these DID numbers are customer service lines which are published to the public.
    I also found, in my research, solution # K00682545, which states that this Hunt Group is Working As Designed, and suggests the same work around, which is calling the DID directly.
    My concern is the changes I made in the Hunt Pilot. I'm giving my users the benefit of the doubt when they say they used to be able to call forward all calls, whether they come from the Hunt Pilot or directly. I've set up a test Hunt Pilot, using our phones here in the shop, and I could duplicate their problem.
    Can anyone think of a change I could have made in the Hunt Pilot settings that would bring this result, or are these users imaging that they could ever call forward all their incoming calls while belonging to a Hunt Group? Any ideas would be appreciated.

    Hi Bethany,
    CUCM Hunt Groups/Line Groups have worked this way since at least CCM 4.1(3) :) I never like to doubt users (not a great idea for job preservation) but...I don't see their claim being a valid one.
    You have to keep in mind that a call that has routed via the Hunt Pilot will always ignore the CFWD Settings on Hunt Group Member phones. The normal way to control this then is via the Hunt Group Logout of member phones combined with the Hunt Pilot level forward settings.
    The following describes how the Call Forward settings on individual Hunt member phones are ignored when presented a call via the Hunt feature. Here is a clip;
    Hunting and Call Forwarding
    The concept of hunting differs from that of call forwarding. Hunting allows Cisco Unified Communications Manager to extend a call to one or more lists of numbers, where each such list can specify a hunting order that is chosen from a fixed set of algorithms. When a call extends to a hunt party from these lists and the party fails to answer or is busy, hunting resumes with the next hunt party. (The next hunt party varies depending on the current hunt algorithm.) ***Hunting thus ignores the Call Forward No Answer (CFNA), Call Forward Busy (CFB), or Call Forward All (CFA) settings for the attempted party (Line Group member Phones).
    From this good doc;
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/admin/6_0_1/ccmsys/a03rp.html#wp1078922
    This is where the Hunt Group Logout comes into play. Sadly I don't think any CUCM 5.x versions support this feature, but the users can look forward to this in your next release (6.X or 7.x)
    Log Out of Hunt Groups
    The Log Out of Hunt Groups feature allows phone users to log their phones out from receiving calls that get routed to directory numbers that belong to line groups to which the phone lines are associated. Regardless of the phone status, the phone rings normally for incoming calls that are not calls to the line group(s) that are associated with the phone. The phone provides a visual status of the login state, so the user can determine by looking at the phone whether they are logged in to their line group(s).
    The Log Out of Hunt Groups feature also comprises the following components:
    •The HLog softkey allows a phone user to log a phone out of all line groups to which the phone directory numbers belong. Configure the HLog softkey in the Softkey Layout Configuration window. When the user presses the HLog softkey, the phone screen displays "Logged out of Hunt Group." When the user presses the HLog softkey again to log back in and receive hunt group calls, the "Logged out of Hunt Group" notification on the phone screen clears.
    •The Hunt Group Logoff Notification service parameter in the Clusterwide Parameters (Device - Phone) section of the Service Parameters Configuration window for the Cisco CallManager service must be configured to enable this feature.
    The Log Out of Hunt Groups feature, which is device-based, operates differently for non-shared lines and for shared lines.

  • Vertical flickering line appeared on MacBook Pro Retina 13

    This line appeared for no particular reason. The computer wasn't bumped or damged in any way. It flickers especially while playing videos or games. When it flickers, it is either bright white or yellow and when it doesn't, it is a constant grey line.

    indication of a damaged monitor cable feed.
    Contact Apple for appt. and likely replacing the monitor (with its cable) and full in shop diagnosis.
    Also possible but less likely is a damaged contact at LVDS cable and logic connector.

        I'm sorry your pictures appear different in your gallery sillyymom. I know its frustrating with viewing important images. Are you using a 3rd party picture application? do you have any apps that may be conflicting with your pictures. Have you tried to review your picture settings?
