Shared PL/SQL Area of the Library Cache

When Oracle allocates a Shared PL/SQL Area, do the SQL statements in the block get broken out into a separate Shared SQL area?

They should be in v$db_object_cache.

Concurrent sessions accessing parsed sql from the library cache

Hi there,
I am having five concurrent session firing exactly same SQL statement inside a stored procedure.
Stored Procedure
PROC1(a int)
begin
select <C1>,<C2> into <V1>,<V2> from <T1>, <T2> where <JOIN between both table> and T1.<C3>=a;
end;
All those five sessions are calling the procedure PROC1 which subsequently executes the sql statement.
Execution time of sql statement is 2 seconds.
I ma wondering whether all other sessions will wait for the currently executing session to release the latch on parsed sql(getting stored in the library cache)? (In this case last session will wait for 8 seconds) Or would they execute in parallel with their own copy of parsed sql?
Please help!!!

Would it be like that the first session will hard parse the SQL statement and all other concurrent sessions will have a "softer" soft parse and take a copy of query plan and execute the statement without waiting for each otherYes, I think this is the way it works according to official Oracle documentation

...I also tried throwing Recent Files, in the past It solved the problem ,not this time ...

This recently happened to me. I am a novice, but it seemed like that project got corrupted some how.
I deleted it.
Went to time machine and picked it up again when I knew it was working ok.
I lost a few hours of work, but not the entire project.
Once I had the project back from time machine, it worked fine (but like I said, I lost a little bit of work).

Generally I would not use Facebook for sharing any photos, it compresses the photos substantially, and when you have shadows and dark colours you get visible "bands" where there should be subtle gradients, ie at sunsets and sunrises.
It sounds like you are using two methods to upload to Facebook:
1. Sharing from within Aperture, which basically syncs Facebook with your Aperture album, so any changes made at either end gets synced, hence the deletions from Albums, although the original file should still be in your library, just removed rom the album. It is like a playlist in iTunes.
2. Exporting pics and uploading to Facebook from the browser.
I am not sure how method 1 gets compressed, but I know that uploading hi-res jpegs to Facebook using method 2 results in poor quality images.
I wouldn't even bother comparing option 1 or 2, and they will both be poor images once you view them on Facebook, as opposed to viewing uploaded images on proper image sharing / hosting sites.
Your problem is not with Aperture, it is using Facebook for showing your work.
If you export pics form Aperture at high res jpegs or TIFFs your images will be fine.
If you insist to use Facebook as your way to share your work, then your workflow should be this:
1. Right click images you want to share.
2. Select Export version.
3. Export as 100% size and ensure the export settings are set at 100% quality.
4. Upload this pic into Facebook.
This will get you the best image size and resolution on Facebook.
See how you go.

I have 100's of CDs that I have downloaded to my itunes library and they are in the library playable but they do not show up in the C drive under the iTunes Music folder under users. Why are they in the libary and not in the itunes music folder. Win 7 OS

Mac OS X: Click the iTunes menu and choose Preferences.
Windows: Click the Edit menu and choose Preferences.
Click the Advanced pane. iTunes displays the location of your iTunes Media folder.
You can then:
Note where your media folder is, such as for backing up your media.
Use the Reset button to reset it's location to the default (which is the iTunes folder).
Click the Change button to select a folder for a new location. Once you change this location:
If you make a new or alternate iTunes library, the new location will be used by that library.
Existing files will not be moved unless you choose File > Library > Organize library and choose the option to "Consolidate files."

It sounds like your issue here is that iTunes can not find the files for some of the songs you have brought into it. This happens occasionally even if the songs have not been moved from the location that iTunes places them on import or purchase. When you try to use the song, iTunes prompts you to find the file, as you have seen.
To find the file, use the information in this article to navigate through the iTunes media folders -
Locate and organize your iTunes files
If you are still unable to locate the files, you may need to download them from the iTunes store again, or rip them from your CDs. See this article for assistance with downloading your past purchases -

Sometimes things have inconsistent labeling. Check your Recently Added playlist.

Try another sync. You can even deselect music for th first sync and then reselect it for a further sync.

Intermedia performance as respect to the library cache

I have been trying to tune intermedia indexing on its creation (oracle 8.1.7). My developers try to index some data. There are only 30K rows for 2 tables. Table 1) 2 columns
1 varchar2(50) and 1 char(1)
table 2) 2 columns
1 varchar2(50) and 1 blob
Average Row size for table 1 (918 bytes)
and table 2 (614 bytes)
When loading the 30k rows it takes approx 7.5 hours on a box that has 4 risc cpus, 8 gb ram, and the db files are raw. My breakdown for SGA (1gb shared pool, 256 megs buffer cache, 120 megs large pool, 960 megs java pool,128 megs sort area size and my db_block_buffers is set to 32 meg).
During intermedia indexing I noticed that the system is performing well except for library cache misses (94%). I have tried increasing both the shared_pool and session_cached_cursors to 100. Niether option helped. My dictionary hit ratio is around 97% very good. No IO contention. The index creation is local so the network is not an issue. The box is also dedicated to oracle database only no other applications. My user base is consists of 1 developer for now. Any ideas would greatly be appreciated.

Dsc shared variable property are saved to library?

Hi,
I would like to be sure to know if the shared variable properties like "alarm level" and "description" are saved to the library directly?
If not, where? database?
Also can we not add table to the dsc ms sql express database? (the one for alarms and events)

The properties of the shared variables like alarm and description do get saved to the library. As for your second questions about a table in ms sql, can you tell me more about this? Are you using the LabVIEW DSC VIs to do this, if so provide a screen shot or your code or a good description. Tell me exactly what is going wrong, what behavior you expect and what you are seeing.
