SharePoint Excel sheet generation
Hey everyone,
I am working on creating a workflow that will take a select portion of a document library, write each item in a row on an excel sheet, and save that excel in a different library once a week. I know that SharePoint can export lists and libraries already with
the capability to refresh data, however my requirements for this workflow is that the information from the past week is preserved with out any user input.
I've borrowed the general premise of the workflow from here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/gg317441(v=office.14).aspx
However my code gives back a 'System.InvalidOperationException: Sequence contains no elements' error when I use a blank test excel sheet as the template. When I do have data or have changed something such as the background color of the cells the excel is
generated, but when attempting to open the file it is corrupted and no data is there. If I attempt no data input, then a blank sheet (which the template is) is generated fine.

According to your post, my understanding is that you want to export SharePoint document library data to excel every week automatically.
I suggest you create a timer job and use SharePoint Server Object Model to achieve it.

Excel sheet generation through RFC call from a BSP application

I am calling a RFC FM ( in R3) in Event handler 'OnInputProcessing' of a BSP application in a SRM server.
That function submits a report program which geneates a excel sheet using download FM . Excel sheet is not getting generated.
But when i am calling this RFC FM (in R3) from a report program ( in srm server)
this is generating an ecel sheet.
I want to have call RFC from BSP application.
I tried the way of submit a program ( which contains RFC call) from BSP application ,but it is also not generating excel sheet.
My ultimate AIM is to generate excel sheet by trigerring CALL or submit from BSP
application.
can any one propose solution for it.

the code is been edditted its working as u wanted as u were using the set order in the loop it was rearranging the data and header as well so u were getting the header at last,
now the start value is getting incremented each time and so there is no need to set the order in the loop,so for ur reference without deleting the set order.vi i have used a false case and made it as a dead vi u can remove the set order.vi once u go through the code. i am attaching the modified code its working as u wanted.

I am getting following error while refreshing connection on excel sheet in power pivot gallery,
my scenario,
using BISM file connection to create and refresh power pivot excel sheet in power pivot gallery
throws error and we have sql server 2014 CU6 updated installed plus sharepoint 2013. i checked following msolap110.dll is available in our environment but assembly
Microsoft.AnalysisServices.ChannelTransport is not available.
i found error in event viewer,

On excel sheet upload read the workbook and populate data to sharepoint list
Requirement in my current project:
In a document library when I upload an excel sheet, a specific workbook has to be read and the contents have to be uploaded to a sharepoint custom list.

Is this the only approach to meet this requirement or is there any other way to crack it. sharepoint techies please help me.as you described the scenario of the event that it should happen when user upload excel to a document library. Event Receiver is your best bet. However if you would have a requirement that users can send excel files any time to a network file location and
you want to pick it, read it and create list items etc. You would write a sharepoint timer job that would run every 10 minute to check for file and if available on the network drive, perform the operation etc. so that users who send excel file does not need
to come to the sharepoint etc. You can see that you have Event Receivcer option or Timer job option OR you would write a console application to trigger the code at a scheduled time on sharepoint server etc. so you are using the event receiver in the correct
scenario.

I think there is no other method to update an existing list with Excel. It is only possible to create a new list based on an Excel-Sheet.
To save an Excel sheet to a list, click Site Actions->More options->Import Spreadsheet.
Browse for an appropriate file to import. The file will be imported as a list.

Excel sheet on sharepoint to be used as source for Xcelsius dashboard

Hi,
To achieve these are the steps that I had followed :
1. Add the document Library path into Central Admin -> Application Mgmt -> Manage Service App -> Excel Service App -> Trusted File Locations
2. Add Documnet Library link to Trusted Connection Proivder
3. Open Visual Studio as Run as Administrator
4.Create an SharePoint 2013 Empty Project.
5.Add Service Reference : http:\\<server>\_vti_bin/excelservice.asmx
6.Service added successfully
7.Create a class file and add the Service Reference namespace
There is no such class as ExcelService to call.
Please let me know if somebody knows how to open the Excel file into C#(2012) either using ExcelService or any other way to open. I tried old methods of Sharepoint 2010 server but it's not able to access classes.

Need to read the excel sheet from Document Library and transfer all data into DataTable.

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to access the excel files uploaded in a library and read the worksheet data by C#.
You can read excel file using Excel Services. The Excel Services REST API is a new feature of Excel Services that enables you to access Microsoft Excel workbook data by using a uniform resource locator (URL) address. Using the REST API, you can retrieve
resources such as ranges, charts, tables, and PivotTables from workbooks stored on SharePoint Server 2010. More inforamtion, please refer to the link below:

My Yahoo toobar changes my apps when I reboot my computer. Why.?
When I start up and open Firefox I notice that my Yahoo toolbar has changed to apps that I do not want. The toolbar has been the same for several months and all of a sudden it changes daily on me.

I want to copy the vob files off my dvds for backups and later if I want for editing versus popping in a dvd to rip all the time, is mas the ripper good for this
