Hi All,
we have a sharePoint Website and we want to Iframe Live Steaming from a news channel, if we have 100000 users watching the Iframed Streaming on our SharePoint site  is it impact the SharePoint website performance?
Please advise your inputs.
THanks,'

Hi,
It depends on server configuration and how you divide user load on server.
you can check url: http://davecoleman146.com/2010/02/19/media-streaming-through-sharepoint-part-1/

  • Issue with share point 2007 website performance

    Hi,
we have a sharepoint 2007 farm implemented in our organization. We have 2 web servers running over NLB, 1 application server and 2 SQL 2005 database servers in clustered mode. We are facing a strange issue from the past one week with the performance of the
website deployed from sharepoint. Iam mentioning it as starange because there was no change in any kind of configuration from the server lervel or from the application or databasde level. the performance of the server also seems perfectly alright the only
error i keep getting is event id 5010 "the application pool of sharepoint website has failed to respond to a ping" and then the application pool hangs and my website goes down. This issue is repeated atleast twice in an hour.
I would be very thankful if any one can please suggest me what has to be done in order to mitigate this issue.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
There's a post in MSDN that helps you to understand what's happening:

  • Sharepoint Report Subscriptions not showing on sharepoint website, but are in the database

    Hi All,
We have had an issue which sharepoint where our subscriptions for reports "disappear" from the website. This makes is a little hard to edit them if we need to adjust the subscription. The funny thing is the subscription is still working as it is
    generating emails.
I was able to check SQL and look at the ReportingService Database and I can see all the subscriptions listed in SQL.
So the subscriptions are there. The question is, why are they not showing on the website.
Here is a query I used to show the subscriptions:
    SELECT
          UserName
          , Name
          ,[Locale]
          ,a.[ModifiedDate]
          ,a.[Description]
          ,[LastStatus]
          ,[EventType]
          ,[LastRunTime]
          ,[Parameters]
          ,[DataSettings]
          ,[DeliveryExtension]
          ,[Version]
          ,[ReportZone]
      FROM [ReportingService_SP].[dbo].[Subscriptions] as a
      inner join ReportingService_SP.dbo.users as b on b.UserID = a.OwnerID
      inner join ReportingService_SP.dbo.[Catalog] as c on c.ItemID = a.Report_OID
      order by Name
    Any ideas would be great

Also I found the ReportZone Column had 2 results 0 or 3
I noticed everything that had a 0 showed on the website where 3 did not.
I also saw something saying this might have to do with the AAM and having different addresses, but we only have one address

  • Open a Document in SharePoint website

    Hi,
I got a big problem. I am working with an website witch has a sharePoint 2013. I can open the website and log me in, but I am not able to open any document with my office 2011.

  • Sharepoint 2013 performance is very slow not able develop the custom solution.

hi this is goutham i am facing performance issues and version issue when i develop  webparts and visual studio workflow on SharePoint 2013, even if i change the code also some times the output showing previous code output and i am not able to debug
    the solution.
My system having very high configuration i7 processor and 16 GB Ram.
can you please give any solution for my problem.

    Hi Goutham,
You have not given enough information about your issue and environment, so it is bit tough to suggest you a solution.
here are few things you can try out -
    1. See how much free memory you have in your server
    2. If your SQL server installation in on the same server, then allocate some % of memory to it, that is set an upper limit of memory usage to SQL Server
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms178067.aspx
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/321363/en-us
    3. Use developer dashboard to see why your code has performance issue
    http://blah.winsmarts.com/2012-7-SharePoint_2013_Developer_dashboard.aspx
    4. Use Fiddler to check the application call to your server
    http://www.telerik.com/fiddler
    5. Check whether there is memory leak and dispose objects whenever required
    6. If you have your environment setup for development, then stop services that you are not using, this would free up some resources
    7. use ULS log viewer to analyze SharePoint logs
You might be seeing the same code(assumption of your code after deployment), that may be because you may have not published your app to SP server or your code was not saved by VS.
    Hope this helps!

  • Slow Downloads / website performance

I wonder if anyone has noticed performance issues with the download of content. In iTunes, when I click on the iTunes store, it takes over 30 seconds to load. Sometimes more. Podcasts that normally take minutes are taking hours. I have a video podcast that's about 111MB and it's been trying to download since yesterday. I currently have 39 podcast subscriptions. When I click refresh to update them, most quit with an error after more than 3 minutes.
Even the Apple website is running slowly for me. On the order of minutes to load a page.
I'm on a cable modem and I don't have performance issues with other websites like Google or CNN. I have two other computers beside me and they're not having any connectivity issues. One of them is running iTunes and it's having similar difficulty reaching the store.
    I'd appreciate any thoughts.
    iMac 24"   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   iMac 24" Mac OS X (10.4.8) Intel Core II Duo, 1GB RAM, 250GB HDD, iTunes 7.0.2

True, and I kinda forgot about that little detail. Let me ask you this. I have 30 or 40 podcasts that I subscribe to. Even for podcasts where there is no new content to download, the time from click to complete is inordinately long. A refresh of my entire podcast library can take upwards of 5 minutes or more, which is uncharacteristically long for me.
I can understand that the content is hosted by the podcast owner, but if the check itself (independent of any download of content) is extremely slow, relative to past performance, would you still think this is the podcast owner's issue, or is it the apple server that maintains the links, especially considering that every podcast is similarly slow these past two days. (content as diverse as MacBreak; ABC World News; Geekbrief; and Happy Tree Friends)
    Thanks,

  • SharePoint 2007 performance issue after upgrading the operating system

We upgraded the operating system of our SharePoint Server 2007 from 2003 to 2008 R2. After upgrade we rebuilt the SharePoint using content DBs we backed up before upgrade. All settings is same except that we moved the DBs to new SQL servers. Now users are
reporting performance issue with sites. I experienced it myself some of the pages takes 9-30 seconds to load. Also our SharePoint server is single server. I monitored the SharePoint Server and it is fine. I did fiddler trace and here are the result. I see
lots of 401 (login failed) errors then 302 (redirect) then 200 (OK). Do you know why we are getting 401 errors?

    Hi
when you request a  Site collection (http://domain/) or a Site (http://domain/foo/) of your Publishing Site you get redirected to the http://domain/Pages/<WelcomePage>.aspx. SharePoint 2007 uses the 302 header (location temporarily moved) for
this purpose. Surprisingly even WSS uses the 302 header to redirect a root url to the default.aspx. In comparison ASP.NET uses an internal redirect to render the default page when the root url requested: there is no redirect in this situation.
Check the link which can give more input
    http://blog.mastykarz.nl/sharepoint-2007-redirect-solved-using-301-instead-of-302-redirects/
for error 401 you can check this link
    http://discussions.citrix.com/topic/97027-no-resources-401-unauthorized/d
and check SharePoint ULS logs and event viewer for any exceptions.

  • Browser based InfoPath Forms in SharePoint 2010 performance has slowed down after SharePoint 2010 SP2

    hi All,
Our Browser based Infopath forms have slowed down drastically after applying SharePoint 2010 SP2. Prior to this, we had SharePoint 2010 SP1 and the timings was around 10 seconds (single user) for the entire infopath form to be displayed which has 10-12
views and 5 data connections and 15 business rules and around 100 fields.
But now after applying sharepoint 2010 sp2, the performance has slowed down and it now takes for a single user around 50 seconds.
Refer to the link below, which we followed by applying the patch as well, but the performance is still the same very slow.
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/sharepoint/en-US/0b673324-01c4-49f7-86cb-647aa43fefd6/infopath-browser-forms-extremely-slow-after-service-pack-2-upgrade?forum=sharepointadminprevious
We have raised a ticket with Microsoft, but there is no concrete resolution as to what component of the infopath has made the form rendering and display slow.
Can someone point me to the right resource or knowledge base where i can do a kind of debug, which tells me exactly which infopath dlls are the issue or which part of my form is taking more time. I am using AOLPageTest and Fiddler, but they do not give me
any details where exactly is the bottleneck.
Any tools that give me the details of the bottleneck.
Thanks and appreciate your help in this.
    Regards
    Ram
    Thanks Ram

    hi inderjeet,
The application has gone live and its on production, the same application is on pre-prod and UAT, system testing and integration environments.
The infopath form used to work very well on all these environments before we installed sharepoint 2010 sp2. but the moment we installed sharepoint 2010 sp2, the infopath forms have slowed down.
Microsoft has acknowledged that there is an issued with sharepoint 2010 sp2 and infopath form performance, but they are not able to provide an appropriate fix on this.
We have another environment where there is no sharepoint 2010 sp2 applied only sp1 is applied and the infopath form works very well within fraction of seconds.
So your point no. 1 and 2 and 3. does not reveal anything. Fiddler does not give any detailed component by component breakup where the time is taking more.
The form used to work very well before we applied sp2.
I want to know a tool that gives me exactly component by component grant chart kind of breakup of time taken when the infopath url is requested on the browser.
    Thanks
    ram
    Thanks Ram

  • Css and images are not loading in SharePoint website

    Scenario:-
System Configuration- Windows server 2008 R2, SharePoint Designer 2010, SP server 2010 all are in Local Machine.
    1. I had reset the Windows server 2008 R2 password and opened SharePoint Designer 2010.
    2. Opened previous working site and found error- services unavailable- HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable
    3. For this issue, I reset  (as I reset for windows server) the Identity password in App pool for "SharePoint Central Administration v4" application.
    4. The error "Service Unavailable" got vanished.
But encountered new problem - .css and images are not loading.
    5. I re run "Product Configuration wizard" with below steps:-
    A) Do not disconnect from this server.
    B) No, this machine will continue to host the website
     Still Problem persisting.
    What tried:-
    1. Resetting IIS Server.
    2. Restarted SharePoint Admin Services from "Service window".
    3. Recycled App pool.
Just do let me know for further information.
I have Checked so may forum and sites but no solution :(
    Looking for excellent resolution :)

Check if Style Resource Readers SharePoint group has permissions on the site, permissions to the style library and make sure that this library provides Style Resource Readers with restricted read.
If you don't see Style resource readers on the site, go to that library and set that permission.  you could also just load your installation media to a folder, and execute on setup.exe, select repair option.  This second option of the installation

  • SharePoint 2013 Performance Report

    The performance of my SharePoint 2013 is horrible.The config is a very simple 2-server config (1x WFE/App & 1xSQL).
I am quite convinced the issue is SQL Server Performance, but to justify the spend I need to provide some metrics (not just gut feel).
Can anyone suggest a way I can gather metrics t prove what the bottleneck is?

You can also get good performance data from the Usage/Logging Database. There will be multiple timer jobs starting with the word Diagnostic...If you want to collect specific data in the Usage/Logging Database you can start these timer jobs and wait
for about 24 hours. After 24 hours you take a look at this database and analyze performance for the SQL and SharePoint server(s). This is the ONLY database that Microsoft allows you to query and they actually have some pretty good built-in views for looking
    at this information. Source:

  • Website performance

I have been a GTE/Verizon customer for 16 years, and now I'm seriously considering changing to another carrier. The reason is the atricious performance of the Verizon Wireless website. As a developer of highly scalable web applications, I am appalled that Verizon continues to invest in the appearance nd window dressing of the site, but has shown no signs of addressing the fundamental poor performance.
Today, I tried twice to order something from the site. Both times, the "confirm order" page timed out after several minutes, and so my order was lost. Does Verizon not care about sales? Do they not understand the seriousness of the problem? If Verizon sales and technical competence are this bad, why should I trust them to provide quaiity service for my mobile devices?
Over the years, I have complained about this problem a couple of times, and I'm sure other have, as well. It seems that nobody is home, or paying attention. Building a commerce site of this complexity is not rocket science. If it is being done by an in-house development team, I suggest that Verizon fire the whole lot and start over. If it is being developed and maintained by some consulting firm, I suggest suing them for nonperformance and starting over. This is simply unacceptable.

We apologize for the problems you are having with the web site. We appreciate your business as long time Verizon Wireless customer. We are committed to providing every customer with the best My Verizon browser experience.  We value your feedback and would like to hear from you on your ideas for improving the website. • SCH website performance

We have less than 10 devices on SCH.  Running any report takes minutes, not seconds.  Cisco, can you please do something to improve this?  The service loses its value when the tools aren't speedy enough to use productively.  I've also noted extreme delays in email alerts vs. trigger times, and performance issues with viewing device-specific details (running config, etc).

    Hi Paul,
Apologies for the delayed response.  Engineering has measured the performance of all reports available under your user profile and was unable to find an issue - all reports were generated in less than 10 seconds during their testing.  It's possible you could have been running the reports during a maintenance window on our side or could potentially have been experiencing a network issue on your side.  In either case, I would encourage you to open a support case if the issue persists.  The performance you are reporting is not normal and we'd like to help you resolve the issue.

  • Website Performance, IWeb velocity

    Hello,
i published a Website with IWeb and the performance is state of the art, when using my Mac and may DSL Internet connection. On some computers the perfomance is terrible slow. It takes a lot of time when pages are building up and you can see the page being set together of the particular details (pictures, textboxes etc.).
In most ofe the cases it was a help to change from the terrible MSIE to Firefox or something else. But are there other tools or tricks to eccelerate the website? I am allready using Webcrusher, what safes up to 20% of data volume.
Did a make a basic mistake when designing the page layout?
The content is moderate compaired with other pages and i didnt use to much pictures and no big sized files like sound or clips.
    Can anybody help?
    Thanks
    Matthias

Sorry about the delay - I've just been trying out!
WSM will add the website folder on the iDisk from the "Configure" menu. It then optimizes the files and puts them in the WSM output folder on your hard drive. Probably not the answer you want to hear!
For me to try putting the output folder on my iDisk would cause me big problems but I don't see why it couldn't be done.
WSM will, of course, optimize and upload back to your iDisk, from the output folder, in one pass.
