Sharing common data between forms

Greetings,
I have several paper forms that comprise a packet of information.  Currently, our process is to fill out the forms by hand.  All of the forms have become available as individual fillable pdfs.  To make our process more efficient, I would like to make use of the digital pdfs.  What I would like to accomplish is to have any common data, such as First Name, Last Name, Address, State, etc. that is entered on the first form be able to autofill those fields on the following forms.  I need some direction, perhaps an overview to get started, on how to accomplish this, and what product should be used.  I have some programming knowledge, but none with Adobe products, and what I have available to me is Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.  Thanks, any insights provided are much appreciated.

Hi
If you are using Forms 6i, you can store all these values in a PLSQL table in a package in the first form. When you call the second form, call it with the SHARE_LIBRARY_DATA parameter and these values will be available in the second form.
In the when new form instance of the second form, manipulate these values and construct the query and execute query.

  • Transaction to see common data between two tables

    Is there any transaction to see common data between two tables with out creating views.
    what is the transaction to see the link between two tables
    regards
    pavan

    Hi,
            Go to a transparent table for which you want to know the common fields, from there click the button GRAPHICS (shortcut Ctrl + Shift + F11) in the application tool bar. Then you are redirected to a list containing the tables belonging to the same group. There select whatever tables you would like to see and click COPY. A window will pop-up and will show the relationship between the fields of the tables in a flow chart format.
    see to this link also.

  • Sharing static data between all WD components

    Hello
    I'm looking for a way to share static data between all WD sessions of a WD application. Static data is static (language depended) value lists for instance. How can this be done in WD for ABAP?
    Is this recommended at all?
    Regards, Mathias

    Hi,
    if these lists are static, you can use z-tables with in the key a 'spras' field.
    do the selection while loading the application with sy-langu on those tables to fetch the language dependant lists
    (example table makt, for material descriptions)
    if you mean you want to share these data between several wda components of 1 application,
    you should use the same assistance class in all of them and fetch the data in the main component to store it in the assistance class.
    this class will be instantiated and all the other components will have access to the data (instance will be recognized automatically as of SP11)

  • Sharing Application Data Between 2 Web Services

    Hello,
    I have two web services that need to share data. They do not need to EXCHANGE data, but they need to have some sort of shared context to make the data available to each other.
    If its significant, one WS is jar-rs based, and the second is jax-ws based. In fact, there might be a third entity that is a conventional servlet, that also will participate in the data-sharing.
    Any response is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and support!

    No you can share data without exchanging it. If two or more web services have the same application context, they can create/update/remove shared attributes via servlet context. That is not exchanging data. Anyway I figured it out.
    All you have to do is grab the servlet context and add/replace attribute objects with names you share across the application

  • Passing data between forms in Release 2

    I have one large form that I need to split into several forms on different tabs in a page, so they can be displayed and updated independently.
    I have seen some talk about using wwa_api_module_session to do so in 3.0.9. Does this work in 9.0.2?
    Does anyone have a short example of the code needed to call one form from another, passing the key field?
    Thanks,
    Gary

    Hi,
    In the success procedure of the form get the value of the field and pass it to the form.
    Here is an example
    declare
    ticket_no varchar2(20);
    flight_no varchar2(20);
    blk varchar2(30) := 'DEFAULT';
    begin
    ticket_no := p_session.get_value_as_varchar2(
    p_block_name => blk,
    p_attribute_name => 'A_TICKET_NO');
    flight_no := p_session.get_value_as_varchar2(
    p_block_name => blk,
    p_attribute_name => 'A_FLIGHT_NO');
    go('<product_schema>.wwa_app_module.link?p_arg_names=_moduleid&p_arg_values=1384225689&p_arg_names=_sessionid&p_arg_values=&p_arg_names=ticket_no&p_arg_values='||ticket_no||'&p_arg_names=flight_no&p_arg_values='||flight_no);
    end;
    This passes the ticket no and flight no to another form.

  • How to get common datas from two int.tables

    hi,
    please tell me , how to i will get the common datas between two int. tables
    & place them in third int. table.
    give me syntax.
    regards
    subhasis.

    Hi Subhasis,
    <b>SORT :</b></u>
    SORT itab.
    Extras:
    1. ... BY f1 f2 ... fn
    2. ... ASCENDING
    3. ... DESCENDING
    4. ... AS TEXT
    5. ... STABLE
    The syntax check performed in an ABAP Objects context is stricter than in other ABAP areas. See Field symbols not allowed as sort criterion.
    Effect
    The entries in the internal table are sorted in ascending order using the key from the table definition (DATA, TYPES).
    Addition 1
    ... BY f1 f2 ... fn
    Effect
    Uses the sort key defined by the sub-fields f1, f2, ..., fn of the table itab instead of the table key. The fields can be of any type; even number fields and tables are allowed.
    You can also specify the sort fields dynamically in the form (name). If name is blank at runtime, the sort field is ignored. If itab is a table with a header line, you can also use a field symbol pointing to the header line of itab as a dynamic sort criterion. A field symbol that is not assigned is ignored. If a field symbol is assigned, but does not point to the header line of the internal table, a runtime error occurs.
    If the line type of the internal table contains object reference variables as components, or the entire line type is a reference variable, you can use the attributes of the object to which a reference is pointing in a line as sort criteria (see Attributes of Objects as the Key of an Internal Table.
    You can address the entire line of an internal table as the key using the pseudocomponent TABLE_LINE. This is particularly relevant for tables with a non-structured line type when you want to address the whole line as the key of the table (see also Pseudocomponent TABLE_LINE With Internal Tables).
    If you use one of the additions 2 to 5 before BY, it applies to all fields of the sort key by default. You can also specify these additions after each individual sort field f1, f2, ..., fn. For each key field, this defines an individual sort rule which overrides the default.
    Addition 2
    ... ASCENDING
    Effect
    Sorts in ascending order. This is also the default if no sort order is specified directly after SORT. For this reason, it is not necessary to specify ASCENDING explicitly as the default sort order.
    With the addition BY, you can also specify ASCENDING directly after a sort field to define ascending order explicitly as the sort sequence for this field.
    Addition 3
    ... DESCENDING
    Effect
    Sorts in descending order. If the addition comes right after SORT, DESCENDING is taken as the default for all fields of the sort key.
    With the addition BY, you can also specify DESCENDING directly after a sort field.
    Addition 4
    ... AS TEXT
    Effect
    Text fields are sorted appropriate to the locale. This means that the relative order of characters is defined according to the text environment being used.
    When an internal mode is opened (in other words, when a roll area is opened), the text environment is automatically set to the logon language specified in the user master record. If necessary, however, you can change the text environment explicitly in your program by using a SET-LOCALE statement.
    If the addition comes directly after itab, locale-specific rules are used for all fields of the sort key where the type of these fields is C or W. After the sort, the sequence of entries usually does not match the sequence which results otherwise, without using the addition AS TEXT, i.e. with binary sorting.
    With the addition BY, you can also specify AS TEXT directly after a sort field, provided it is of type C or W, or a structured type. Otherwise, a runtime error occurs. In sort fields with a structured type, AS TEXT only affects subcomponents with type C or W.
    In case of an invalid character, a SYSLOG message is written, and the respective record is inserted at the end.
    Note
    Please keep the rules for site-specific sorting in mind.
    Example
    Sort a name table with different keys:
    TYPES: BEGIN OF PERSON_TYPE,
             NAME(10)   TYPE C,
             AGE        TYPE I,
             COUNTRY(3) TYPE C,
           END OF PERSON_TYPE.
    DATA: PERSON TYPE STANDARD TABLE OF PERSON_TYPE WITH
                      NON-UNIQUE DEFAULT KEY INITIAL SIZE 5,
          WA_PERSON TYPE PERSON_TYPE.
    WA_PERSON-NAME    = 'Muller'. WA_PERSON-AGE = 22.
    WA_PERSON-COUNTRY = 'USA'.
    APPEND WA_PERSON TO PERSON.
    WA_PERSON-NAME    = 'Moller'. WA_PERSON-AGE = 25.
    WA_PERSON-COUNTRY = 'FRG'.
    APPEND WA_PERSON TO PERSON.
    WA_PERSON-NAME    = 'Möller'. WA_PERSON-AGE = 22.
    WA_PERSON-COUNTRY = 'USA'.
    APPEND WA_PERSON TO PERSON.
    WA_PERSON-NAME    = 'Miller'. WA_PERSON-AGE = 23.
    WA_PERSON-COUNTRY = 'USA'.
    APPEND WA_PERSON TO PERSON.
    SORT PERSON.
    Now, the sequence of the table entries is as follows:
    Miller  23  USA
    Moller  25  FRG
    Muller  22  USA
    Möller  22  USA
    If, for example, you apply German sort rules where the umlaut comes directly after the letter 'o' in the sort, the data record beginning with 'Möller' would not be in the right place in this sequence. It should come second.
    Provided a German-language locale is set (e.g. sorting is according to German grammatical rules, see also SET LOCALE), you can sort the names according to German rules as follows:
    SORT PERSON BY NAME AS TEXT.
    Now, the sequence of table entries is as follows:
    Miller  23  USA
    Moller  25  FRG
    Möller  22  USA
    Muller  22  USA
    Further examples:
    SORT PERSON DESCENDING BY COUNTRY AGE NAME.
    Now, the sequence of table entries is as follows:
    Miller  23  USA
    Möller  22  USA
    Muller  22  USA
    Moller  25  FRG
    SORT PERSON DESCENDING BY AGE ASCENDING NAME AS TEXT.
    Now, the sequence of table entries is as follows:
    Muller  22  USA
    Möller  22  USA
    Miller  23  USA
    Moller  25  FRG
    Addition 5
    ... STABLE
    Effect
    Uses a stable sort, that is, the relative sequence of entries that have the same sort key remains unchanged.
    Unlike additions 2 to 4, you cannot use this addition directly after a sort field.
    Notes
    General:
    The number of sort fields is restricted to 250.
    The sort process is only stable if you use the STABLE addition. Otherwise, a predefined sequence of fields used to sort a list is not usually retained.
    It does not make sense to use the SORT command for a SORTED TABLE. If the table type is statically declared, the system returns a syntax error if you try to SORT the table. If the table type is not statically declared (for example, because the table was passed to a FORM routine as an INDEX TABLE in a parameter), and the system can interpret the SORT statement as an empty operation, it ignores the statement. This is the case when the key in the BY clause corresponds to the beginning of the table key. Otherwise, a runtime error occurs.
    To delete all duplicate entries from a sorted internal table (e.g. just after SORT), you can use the DELETE ADJACENT DUPLICATES FROM itab statement.
    When using the addition AS TEXT, the sequence of entries after the sort does not usually match the sequence resulting from a binary sort, i.e. if the addition AS TEXT is not specified. The consequence of this is that after the SORT, you are not allowed to access with the READ TABLE itab ... BINARY SEARCH statement.
    If you still want to access data sorted apppropriate to the locale with a binary search, you can do this by including an additional component in the table where you can explictly store the data formatted using the CONVERT TEXT ... INTO SORTABLE CODE statement. This is also recommended for performance reasons if you have to re-sort the table several times according to locale-specific criteria.
    If the internal table has more than 2^19 lines or is larger than 12 MB, the system sorts it physically using an external auxiliary file. You can specify the directory in which the file should be created using the SAP profile parameter DIR_SORTTMP. By default, the system uses the SAP data directory (SAP profile parameter DIR_DATA).
    Notes
    Performance:
    The runtime required to sort an internal table increases with the number of entries and the length of the sort key.
    Sorting an internal table with 100 entries with a 50 byte key requires about 1300 msn (standardized microseconds). Using a 30-byte key, the runtime is about 950 msn.
    If one of the specified sort criteria is itself an internal table, SORT may sometimes take much longer.
    The runtime increases if you use a stable sort.
    Physical sorting reduces the runtime required for subsequent sequential processing.
    Reward If Useful.

  • Share cluster data between 2 timed loops

    What is the best and safest way of sharing cluster data between 2 timed loops running. I could use locals, but that is risky, would shared variables work better? All I need to do is modify a couple of datatypes in a cluster that both threads use.
    Thanks...

    You could go the LVOOP route and create a singleton object. The object can be passed to parallel tasks an dsince it is singleton they will all share the same value. Ue of a DVR inside the object would allow you to have a single copy of the data. Your class would also give you the necessary accessors for reading/writing data.

  • Sharing data between two canvases on the same form ?

    Hello,
    I have one form with two canvases and two data blocks.
    Datablock A and datablock B are same tables.
    The reason I split is so I can have a search field on canvas A, then after executing the query, I want to populate canvas B.
    I'm having trouble sharing the data across both data blocks.
    Note: I set up a relation in datablock B to correspond with A, and I've chosen field name "Horse" to be my master and detail item.
    "When-button-pressed-trigger" --> Here is part of my code after the user presses the "Search" button (in datablock A).
         execute_query;
         SHOW_VIEW('CANVAS_HORSE');
         HIDE_VIEW('CANVAS_SEARCH');
         :fox_horse.horse := :fox_horse1.horse     ;                         GO_BLOCK('FOX_HORSE');
    When I go back to my "FOX_Horse" datablock, why is the :fox_horse.horse field the only one populated? I though by creating a relation btwn the two blocks they would syncronize automatically ?
    Any advice ?
    Thanks,
    Bob

    Alex,
    I have tried your suggestion, yet I'm still having a problem once I issue my execute_query command.
    In my Search button I have this code:
    BEGIN
    :fox_horse1.horse := :fox_horse.horse;
    GO_BLOCK('FOX_HORSE1');
    execute_query;
    END;
    Note that FOX_HORSE is NOT a database block (as you suggested), but FOX_HORSE1 is a database block.
    So when I click on the "Search" button I can see the :fox_horse1.horse field getting populated immediately, but then the system asks me if I want to save changes. When I say NO, the actual data block portion of my screen just defaults to the first record, so my exec_query show no effect at all.
    What am I doing wrong in my search button trigger ?
    Thanks so much for your advice,
    Bob

  • Sharing data between two separate user sessions

    Hi all!
    I have been trawling my brain for a solution to this - any help will be appreciated!
    I would like to create a single instance of a class but share that instance over more than one user session (two separate users but both running concurrently).
    Just as you can pass data between sessions using ABAP memory - I would like to pass data (specifically an object reference) between two separate users that could even be logged in to two separate application servers...
    Even a mini Client/server solution would suffice but I cannot figure one out!
    Is this possible?
    Many thanks for your thoughts in advance...
    N

    Hello N K,
    sorry thats not possible. Sharing a data item / object instance requires at least a common physical memory. As this is not guaranteed between different app. server this is technical not possible.
    With release 640 ABAP offers the new feature Shared Objects. These mechanism allows access by different users and some propagation to differnt servers.There is an interesting article on the ABAP SDN homepage
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/sdn/developerareas/abap.sdn
    For relases below more or less the database is the only chance to store data accross application servers (known to me). One exception might be the ENQUEUES which might (mis)used to store some Flags.
    Kind Regards

  • How can I share data between two forms on different lists

    Using a custom content type, I created two lists that I want to share the same data - one is a calendar.  Our employees complete a form from the "Out of Office Request" list that has workflow functionality that sends an email to that person's
    manager.  If the manager approves the request, the item automatically populates the "Out of Office Calendar."  The problem is that the only information from the request list that populates the calendar is the Title field and date/time fields.
    I need the manager name in order to create a view for each manager.
    How can I connect the other information in the request list to the calendar list.  It seems to me that if the title and date fields carry over the information, there should be a way to connect the other information.  I'm using Designer.
    I've tried to connect the two lists' webparts with the wizard, but when I get to the page that maps the two lists, there are no column names and the "Next >" button is grayed out.  This seems like the logical place to connect the two lists,
    but it isn't working.

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted share data between two forms on different lists.
    To show external  information on the calendar event, there are two methods: Calculated column, workflow. You can refer to:
    A Simple Guide to Show More Information on a Calendar Event
    I recommend to use workflow to achieve what you want. But you need to create a people column to display the manager.
    You can create a workflow associated to the "Out of Office Request" list, add action to Start Approve Process. If the manager approves the request, you can create a item in the calendar, and then update the people column and the title column.
    Then the calendar will display the Title, date/time and the manager.
    To create a view for each manager, you need to modify the Filter. You can use the people column is equal to the manager name or the Title contains the manager name.
    Thank you for your understanding.

  • Share form data between PDFs

    I have a series of 26 PDFs that are all different forms to be filled out during a real estate short sale. Each form is unique but there are several pieces of data that need to be repeadidly entered (i.e. client's name is on every single form normally multiple times.) Is there a way that I can connect the form data between each PDF so that when I fill in the data on one form it auto populates the form of the other PDFs?
    I know how to do this within a single PDF (Just name the different fields the same and it copies the contents of that form box to all of the others) but I was hoping to be able to keep these PDFs seperate as normally only about half of the forms are actually needed.
    Thank you for your help in advance.

    Why don't you store the user's information in an ACCESS database table, and pre-populate the PDF from the datasource using a 3rd party form tool.
    Tools clients will need:
    Internet access
    PDF Reader
    Tools developer will need:
    iText (PHP/JAVA), iTextSharp (.net), or FDFToolkit.net (.net)
    MS Access
    (PHP Editor, Notepad or Visual Studio)

  • Forms, $_POST and showing data between to numeric values

    Hi.
    Really stuck with my SQL query.... pretty new to SQL so struggaling with this... heres my scenario..
    I have a Form on a .php page that has drop down menus for a user to select options based on location, type of job and min. salary and max. salary. This then submits using the POST method the results of the options (using $_REQUEST) to a results.php page.
    The text field queries work great.... with this query:-
    SELECT jobs.clocation, jobs.Ref_id, jobs.RefCode, jobs.jobtitle, jobs.blurb, jobs.Consultant, jobs.Salary, jobs.tlocation, jobs.Sector, jobs.Type
    FROM jobs
    WHERE jobs.clocation = '$_REQUEST[clocation]' AND jobs.Sector  = '$_REQUEST[Sector]' AND jobs.Type = '$_REQUEST[Type]'
    Where I'm having problems is getting it to work with the values... I'd like them to be able to choose a Min Salary.. (the drop down menu includes options of 10000 , 20000, etc) and a Max Salary (again 10000 , 20000 etc) and then the results show any data between those values.
    Cant figure out where I am going wrong.. please help
    Thank you

    Sure. And it works even better for a hacker. That is, perhaps, the most insecure piece of code I have seen in a long time.
    First off, $_REQUEST is insecure because it contains POST, GET, and cookie values.
    Next, you're injecting $_REQUEST values directly into your SQL query. Hackers will have a field day trashing your database. Take a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SQL_injection to see the danger you're exposing yourself to.
    If you're using the PHP mysql functions, you must pass your values first to mysql_real_escape_string(). You should also use $_POST or $_GET instead of $_REQUEST.
    As for getting results between different values, use BETWEEN ... AND (http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/comparison-operators.html#operator_between).
