Shipment cost in collective shipment

Hi,
Collective Shipment Includes:
1.Several Point of departure
2.Several Destinations
One Mode of Transport.
I have to configure above two scenarios.
Can shipment from manufacturing plant to depot and from depot to retailer come under collective shipment? ie STO and direct sale can be a part of collective shipment?
If yes pls. elaborate on how I can get shipment cost documents separately for STO and direct sale as single shipment doc will not be useful.
Pls. respond.

Hi Abhilash,
In both the cases you mentioned the a single truck will start from manufacturing location A and will serve both the depot and the consignee.
Both the cases can be handled in a same manner, but my ques is in first case against the STO of 25 tons, will the depot be receiving 15 tons only or he'll receive whole 25 tons and then issue 10 tons out of it for the sales order, coz sales order is from depot so the manufacturing plant can not serve the consignee.
See in my opinion, in both the case you'll create 1 shipment against the STO of 25 tons and the shipment cost against it will cover the freight cost of moving the stocks from manufacturing location to the depot, and the other shipment will be against the sales order of 10 tons, and the shipment cost against it will cover the freight cost for moving the stocks from depot to the consignee.
reward, if helpful.

  • What are the costs we collect in maintenance order  and work order

what are the costs we collect in maintenance order  and work order
is work order and maintenance order differeent or same

Usually the main costs of maintenance are the spare parts and labour. And these are the costs we would like to track per maintenance job from a maintenance management perspective. There could also be cases where other costs such as travel to place where the equipment is might be required to be collected in the maintenance order.
In SAP there is no term called work order. But loosely the term is sometimes used for maintenance or service order. Probably even production orders also.

KB15N worked perfectly.  I did get an error the 1st time I tried it:  "Manual Cost allocation" is not allowed, but I found another forum posting with the same error (messages BS027) that helped me resolve that problem (you need to enable manual allocations via transaction BS12 first).
    Thanks for your help!

  • In controlling secondary cost element cost is considerble for financial rep

in controlling secondary cost element cost is it considerble for financial reporting requirment. In controlling for pm orders based on planning in kp26 they are booking man hours  activity price. when at time of confirm of the order planning converted to actual.
Client is giving activity price based on primary cost, when we plan the activity price It will double booking what we incured in primary cost. let me clarify for financial report requirment can we consider secondary cost or not

    Hi,
Secondory cost is a re allocation of Primary cost. It should not be considered if you are considering primary cost. Secondary cost is used for analysis and should not be confused with Primary cost
Ex. Cost gets collected to cost centers, The activity is a carrier which carries cost to Process/ production order. So that doent mean that the cost is gernerated twice once you book the financial and second when you acutally allocate the cost.
In controlling we allocate the cost in a more meaningful way to get the required analysis which will support the decision.
So both the cost should not be considered
    This may be useful

  • I have doubt on cost center

Can you tell me what is the information this table will give CSKS .What is meant by cost center and what is the use of prctr field in this table .
    Thanks,
    Manohar

    Hi,
CSKS is the table for Cost Center Master Data.
cost center: cost center collects the costs. It will try to control the costs with the help of responsible person. Cost centers are not meant for revenues.
Cost center is a real object.
If you give cost center at the time of posting, then real postings will go to cost center and statistical posting will go to profit center (which is assigned in cost center master)
If you give cost center and Internal Order (real), then real postings will go to internal order and statistical postings will go to cost center and profit center (which is assigned in internal order master). The cost center will become statistical or real based on the other real object given.
If you give cost center and internal order (statistical) then real postings will go to cost center and statistical postings will go to internal order (statistical) and profit center (which is assigned to cost center.

  • Use of activity types and cost splitting

    Hi All,
We would like to track activities for cost centers, but don't necessarily have the need for a sending cost center/object.  I understand in a traditional manufacturing set-up, you have sending and receiving cost objects that incorporate the use of activities.  Our business is a service that we provide, not a tangible product that we produce.
Here is the scenario.  We have activities that a cost center performs.  Cost center 1 will perform 2 types of "pick-up" activities, so this would require two activity types.  Throughout the course of the month, the activity quantities would get posted to the cost center.  So my first question is how can you post only quantities to a cost center--what is the t-code?  We're not concerned with incorporating an activity price, we just want quantities.
Second, as primary costs get posted to the cost center in FI, we want to split the costs onto the activities.  I have researched t-code KSS2 and can't seem to split the primary costs based on the activity quantities.  It keeps refering to target costs, which I don't really want to have to worry about.
What we're trying to do is a makeshift ABC scenario.  Since the use of true abc seems almost non-existent, there's not much info out there on it.  Does anybody have any good docs on abc in SAP?
    Thanks
    Kory Squire

    Hi,
    1. I understood your case in this way .
Cost Center A performs 2 activities . The cost center collects cost by Fi posting through out the month.
Now you want the activity type should nt have price , only it should have quantities.
And now you want to allocate the cost of the cost center to other object by activity types.
    If i am right..
then instead of activity types why not create SKF(statistical key figures) . At the month end by t.code Kb31n post the activity qts. for combination of cost center and SKFs.
Then as per your requirement run allocation cycle.
The kind of you are planning , in that case activity types to be converted as cost object ( it can be done in control area setting) and then you want to allocate.. seems to be little complicated..
Hope i understood and in turn i conveyed the message properly..

Can you tell me wht do u mean by -
    1 Cost element
    2 Cost Center
    3 Cost Center Accounting
    4 Profit Center
    5 Profit Center Accounting.
6 wht is the difference between Cost center & Profit Center?
Is there any concept of FI-CO integration? If yes how is it done?
    Thanks

<b>Cost element</b> It tells you on what item u r incurring cost Ex salary, rent .
<b>Cost Center</b> It defines a location of cost.It tells you where u r incurring cost.Ex canteen dept, paint shop, maintenance dept.
<b>Cost center A/Cing</b> Cost center a/cing makes it possible to analyze cost accordibg to where they were occurred in organization
<b>Profit center</b> It is an organizational sub-unit that bears responsibility for revenues as well as cost.
<b>Profit center A/Cing</b> it is used to know
    product wise profitability
    Location wise profitability(Factory, sales,Branch)
Function wise profitability(R&D function, sales function)
    <b>Difference</b>
Major difference is cost center collects only cost profit center collects cost as well as revenue and give u the profit.
<b>Intergration</b> data flow form FI to CO through G/L account which are treated as cost elements in CO

  • Secondary cost element in KB11N

    Hello.
I'm not allowed to use a secondary cost element in a reposting.
What do I have to modify?
    Thank You

    Hello,
You cannot use secondary cost element. You need to use primary only.
    Please go through the following:
DISTRIBUTION =========== Distribution was created for transfer primary costs from a sender cost center to receiving controlling objects. During distribution, only cost centers or business process can be used as sender. A distribution receiver can be a cost center, WBS element, internal order, cost object, or a business process. You can restrict the number of receiver categories in customizing. Primary Postings (such as, energy costs) are collected on a cost center, and allocated at the end of the period by means of the user-defined key. You can only distribute primary costs. During this process, the original cost element remains the same. Line items are posted for the sender as well as for the receiver, enabling the allocation to be recorded exactly. You can reverse distributions as often as required. You use the Cycle-Segment method to define sender-receiver relationships. PERIODIC REPOSTING ================= Differences between periodic reposting and distribution are due to information content and performance. For periodic reposting, no separate credit record is written on the sender for the cost element in the summary report. Instead, the totals record for the cost element is reduced on the debit side, which means that the original debit amount can no longer be checked there (u201Cunclean creditu201D). However, during distribution, the system writes a totals record for the credit (u201Cclean creditu201D). The information on the receiver is the same for periodic reposting and distribution (u201Cclean debitu201D). Compared with periodic reposting, during distribution, the system also updates the partner in the totals record for the sender. This means that the partner can be displayed in the information system on the totals record level. As fewer totals records are written during periodic reposting, performance is better than during distribution. ASSESSMENT =========== Assessment was created to transfer primary and secondary costs from a sender cost center to receiving controlling objects. During assessment, cost center or business processes can be used as senders. The receivers for an assessment can be a cost center, WBS element, internal order, cost object, or a business process. You can restrict the number of receiver categories in customizing. Primary and secondary posting are allocated at the end of the period by the user-defined key. During assessment, the original cost elements are summarized into assessment cost elements (secondary cost element category = 42). As the system writes fewer total records, the assessment has a better performance than periodic reposting and distribution. The system does not display the original cost elements in the receivers. Therefore, assessment is useful if the cost drilldown for the receiver is not important. Similar to distribution, the partner is updated in the totals record during distribution You can reverse assessments as often as required. You use the Cycle-Segment method to define sender-receiver relationships. Regards, Ravi

  • REM Product cost collectors and Production version

    Hi All,
Can some one pls let me know
What are the product cost collectors in REM and how to create the product cost collectors ?
What is the production version and the difference between production version and controlling version?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Bujji

    Dear Bujji,
A product cost collector is a cost object in Product Cost by Period that collects the periodic actual costs incurred in the production of a material. It can be created in txn KKF6N.
    [Product Cosr Collector|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_47x200/helpdata/EN/08/77ba810a1611d3a6b900104b55d538/frameset.htm]
[Product Cost Collectors: Collective Entry for Repetitive Manufacturing |http://help.sap.com/saphelp_47x200/helpdata/EN/08/77ba810a1611d3a6b900104b55d538/frameset.htm]
A production version determines the various production techniques that can be used to produce a material. It defines the following information:
Alternative BOM for a BOM explosion
Task list type, task list group, and group counter for assignment to task lists
Lot-size restrictions and period of validity
A material can have one or more production versions.
It can be defined in the Material Master (txn MM02) in one of the following views:
    MRP 4
    Work Scheduling
    Costing 1
The costing version is a different issue. It is a costing parameter and is used to save several cost estimates for the same material, with the same costing variant and the same costing date (e.g. in oder to cost the material several times with minor changes without creating new costing variants).

  • Belated costs during a make-to-order/sales order controlling process

    Hello Experts,
We implemented a make-to-order process where we collect actual costs of a repackaging process. The cost object of that process order is the sales order item (VBP, Vertriebsbelegposition). So far that cost collection works absolutely fine and the actual costs are collected in the conditions of the sales order item.
Unfortunately it can be the case that after billing the sales order item, operations debits the process order with an activity (e.g. quality analysis). After using transaction KO88 the balance of the process order is posted to the sales order item even if it has been already billed. But when I open the sales order with TA VA02 the conditions of these sales order item are already grey and not editable anymore. And therefore it is not possible to actualize the price and the extra costs of the belated positing of operations.
Do you know any possibilty to creat a second bill of the same sales order item to collect the additional costs?
    BR
    Mike

    Hi,
Finance person would need to create a JV to knock off those costs. The same wont be possible through SD route again.

  • Co-Product Costing

    Dear Experts,
We have a Discrete Manufacturing scenario. The Production orders are created manually. The BOMs consist of only 1 RM and relation to FG is 1:1 with respect to weight. (UOM is tonnes)
Now, upon processing the RM, the FG material is received, which is actually lesser in weight of RM.
The requirement is to receive the balance quantity as co-product or by-product and the value of stock to be increased at the same rate of FG material (the rate in production order).
This co-product / by-product is a universal material code (the balance qty in any production order would be received under this material code only). This is not maintained in the BOMs. The GR will be unplanned.
Can this scenario be mapped in SAP? Kindly advice, how to achieve this.
    Regards,
    Rohit.

    Hi Rohit,
First of all you need to decide whether this is a co product or by product
    in case of co product
The actual costs are collected on the order header. At the end of the period, these costs can be distributed to the order items according to equivalences. SO you can charge each co-product with its share of the actual costs.
    In case of By Product
The actual costs are collected on the order header.
Definitely you can map this scienario in SAP
    To map Co product scienario
The following prerequisites must be fulfilled if you want to create a production order with co-products or by-products.
    Prerequisite for the main product:
The indicator Co-product must be activated in the material master of the main product (MRP area)
    Prerequisites for a co-product:
The indicator Co-product must be activated in the material master of the co-product (MRP area)
The co-product must be listed as an item in the bill of material of the main product
On the Basic data tab page of the BOM item, the indicator Co-product must be activated in the field group General data.
    Prerequisites for a by-product:
The by-product must be listed as an item in the bill of material of the main product
The bill of material item must have a negative quantity (for example u20181 -u2019).
Do not set the indictor Co-product for by-products.

  • Change of Cost center in Asset Master

    Dear All,
In my organisation. the Asset Master was assigned to Cost center1. All acquisation and depreciation costs were collected in it. During the year the CC1 was changed to CC2. Now when we try to draw BW reports for these Assets, the Acquisition & depreciation costs do not match with the R/3 values. This is bcoz, the CC1 was overwritten with CC2.
Now, 1) how can I transfer all the costs from CC1 to CC2 so that my BW report shows the correct values.
    2) Is there in some way the old cost centers can be maintained  so that the BW report picks up correct values for these assets.
    Thanx
    Rosalyn

    Hi!
I am unable to do a manual reposting of Cost Center values from one cost center to another because there is no direct postings to any of the cost center.  Cost Center in my case has been maintained only in the Asset Master.
Acquisition costs are booked through F-90,with cost collector as Internal order which are defined as statistical.
Is there some other way in which I can transfer the balances to cost center 2 like a finance posting? or is it possible for the BW to pick up data directly from some table?
    Pls Help.
    Thanx
    Rosalyn

  • Product cost by sales order - conceptual clarity required

    Hi,
We are a manufacturing company with both Make to Stock and Make to Order Scenarios. In cost object controlling, we have made the settings for product cost by order. Now, the question is whether product cost by sales order is a mandatory setting in MTO scenario. I understand this is a conceptual question but i never got the clarity after reading help files, threads and blogs.
I'll put down my understanding - pls correct me.
If i do the product cost by sales order, there will be a statistical cost object ie sales order. Now every cost incurred (with a component split) will be recorded stastically in the sales order in case of production orders created from S.O.s
If I don't do the setting i cannot get a component wise split for the cost of sales order to do any analyses. but still I'll have the COGS which i'll capture to COPA and take the profitability.
Can you please give me some more clarity on this scenario? Are there any other factors/ advantages/mandates in product cost by sales order?
    Best Regards
    Vimal

    Hi  Vimal
Prod Cost by SO is done in the case of MTO.. Here, you have 3 possible scenarios
    A. Only Qty i.e. GR from Prod order is tagged to Sales Order.. Sales order is not a CO Object....
This scenario is as good as MTS... Only that GR is tagged to SO....
Your costs are collected on Prod order....
PGI uses GBB-VAX i.e. does not post to sales order... Billing updates revenue and COGS to costing based COPA
    B. SO is cost obj with non valuated stock (SAP recommends this)
    C. SO is cost obj with valuated stock...
    B -
Prod Order is settled upon sales order.. GR from prod order does not update any acc doc
Sales order is settled to COPA.. Here you can use a PA Trf Str where in you have replicated your Cost Comp Str... i.e. You can create as many assignment lines in KEI1 as your CCS in OKTZ and assign each one of them to a separtae value field
No question of variances in this case
    C
Prod order is not settled upon sales order.... GR from Prod order updates acc doc.... However, variance from prod order can be settled to the sales order if you create variance account as a cost element... Else, it is settled to COPA
Upon PGI, the COGS is posted to Sales Order as a single line item
Here, in your PA Trf Str, you would create an Assignment line and tick "Qty Billed/Delivered".... This would update the Billing Qty to COPA upon settlement of Sales order
This Qty update will trigger KE4R.... i.e. You need to assign CCS to VF in KE4R for PV=01 and Rec Type = C.... This would update the CCS in COPA as per the Sales Order cost estimate
The Costing Key in KE40 should refer to "Sales order cost estimate" and not "Std Cost estimate"

  • Splitting without product cost collector

    Hello All,
Can anybody tell me how a splitting of a existing production order can be done without a product cost collector. i tried splitting but it is doing with product cost collector.
    Thank you.
    Alok  Tiwari

    Hi Alok,
    This is from SAP documentation:
    Costs
    Actual costs
The costs of the parent and child orders are collected in a common Product Cost Collector. This is because the parent order, as a rule, has already caused actual costs before the split took place. If the actual costs were collected in the parent order before the split, and separately in the parent/child orders after the split, then the materials of the parent order would have excessively high costs per piece, and the child order correspondingly lower costs. As a result, settlement for each order would result in unwanted variances in controlling.
So, as you can see this is the way he system works, and for good reasons.
Why is that a problem to you?

  • Cost for Production at Site

    Dear All ,
I want to capture the cost of the work caried out at my customers site by employees of my company.
I have near about 100 sites at present and my project tenure is about 2 to 3 years
How can i collect the cost similar to the production order in my plant.
Shall I define the plants for each and every site?
    Replies will be highly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Mandar

    Dear Mandar,
    1. The request you have posted here, needs a larger discussion interms of integeration with other modules, configuration, Master data Etc.
    2. A simple solution is that you can have cost centres to collect the same at the customer leve.
    3. This will be simpler, but again it needs to be validated with what cost you are planning to collect and how.
    4. Defining a plant alone will not resolve your problem, plant is only a organisationa entity- cost are collected at Cost centres only.
