Shoppoing cart solution

Hello I need to set up an online store can anyone reccomend
where I should start?
I have only done static websites up until this point and I
am not sure where to begin with the online store, am I better
learning to build one myself with a product like cartweaver or
buying a ready made commerical cart?? Whichever way I go i need a
solution with ample tech support.
any advice most welcome.
thank you shontelle

If you're still receiving messages from this string, I HAVE
to make a recommendation on ecommerce shopping carts. First, your
specific needs will dictate which application you can use. Know
what you need - customer login and special pricing, ad management,
coupon and bulk purchase.... and on.
I use Ecommerce Templates from Internet Business Solutions (
http://www.ecommercetemplates.com/).
I first set a shop up at my own store (
http://www.appliedvitals.com)
and couldn't have been more pleased. I was using an open source
shop (osCommerce) and waisted months trying to customize the look
and get it to behave.
Ecommerce Templates are designed to easily sink into your
Dreamweaver template with only five includes (use their Dreamweaver
shopping cart product). This means you can put the shop right into
your site's design. If you are already using Dreamweaver templates,
you can use their "Dreamweaver Generic Ecommerce Plus" at a
slightly discounted price.
If you don't have a site design already, you could try one of
the ecommerce with design templates . I haven't used one of these,
so I can't comment on them.
So today, I set up a new store within a site that I'm
designing. From start to finish, including setting up the database,
I spent only 1.5 hours. I just can't say enough about the ease of
setup of this store application. The functionality is all that I
and my clients have needed thus far. Two stores to look at are:
1.

2.

Hope this helps: Taverniti

  • Need E-Cart Solution w/o Money Transaction

    Hello everyone,
I am developing a website in which I need to have a e-cart solution w/o money transactions.  Basically, employees are given credits based on performance... then they use these credits to redeem prizes (i.e. gift certificates, ipods, etc.).  I want to add a shopping cart function... so that way employees can add the incentive they want to their cart and then check out.  When they check out, the price will obviously be zero.
I thought about just using a regular commerce cart and setting all prices to zero, but i want the employees to be able to sort by the "cost" of hte items... that is, by the number of credits that's required.
    Does anyone have any ideas?
    Jeremy

Where are the employee credits stored?
You could set up a database that keeps accounts for the employees. It would need to have a way for supervisors (or someone the company wants) to update credits on each account. The credits would be stored in the database and could show up when the employee logs in. When they spend the credits it comes off of their account.

I am trying to get Zen-Cart on my mac mini server lion 10.6 and am stuck getting mysql installed.
Bassiclly what I am trying to do is have a cart for my site I host locally  I used iWeb to creat the site and it has no cart plug in I am aware of which makes it useless for ecommerce.  Other than that it is nice to use maybe im missing somethin?  So I am looking for solutions to get Zen Cart installed (easilly) to include mysql since OSX does not have it.  Some questions
Is there a good free packaged installer for mysql and or zencart?
is there a better OS cart solution for OS X ?
Can iWeb be updated by me to host an e cart, or is there a plug in I can get?

  • How is the follow-on doc triggered from shopping cart in SRM 7.0?

    Hi!
We are on SRM 7.0 and want to make a solution where we create a PM order (Work order) as a follow-on document in backend instead of a Requisition or PO. There are desciptions on how to change document type and function using BADI's for the older SRM solutions, but this does not seem to work in SRM 7.0.
Right now we have customized the system so a Requistion is created in backend and that works fine.
Next step is to find a BADI to replace the call to BAPI_REQUISITION_CREATE  with a Work order BAPI  call  (BAPI_ALM_ORDER_MAINTAIN),
I have tried to debug the process in Web Dynpro from the Shopping Cart where I press the 'Order' button', but never get to a point where the BAPI is called. It only seems like the shopping cart is saved in SRM tables and that the Workflow for approval process is started. We do not use the approval Workflow and the SC gets the status 'Approved' immediately.
When I monitor the shopping cart I can see that it gets the status 'Follow-on document created' about one minute after the Approved status, and that also makes me wonder if the transfer of the SC to backend is done in a batch job, from a Workflow program or anything like that - and not from the Web Dynpro method calls behind the Order button.
Does anyone know the technical details of the solution of the follow-on document creation in SRM 7.0?
    Where is the triggering done??
    Regards, Tine

    Hi Ricardo!
Thanks for you reply. So this means we have to create a kind of batch job with a program which runs FM BBP_PD_SC_TRANSFER  ? How can we avoid that the original backend document is not started in addition (the reqiusition which is set up in customizing) ? Is it possible to customize the shopping cart solution so it does not trigger any backend documents automatically - so we can take the complete control using this batch job mentioned?
PS: Do you know exactly where the BAPI for the requisition is triggered in SRM 7.0? Would be nice to know after all my debugging with no results

    Hi Experts,
We have 5-6 levels of approvals for Shoppoing carts. All the SC needs to be approved by 5-6 managers based on their approval limits. All the approval limits are assigned at the Role level .(We have created Z roles)
Please let me know how and where to define the roles in BADI to activate the N-step approval workflow for Shopping Cart-WS14000133

  • Client managed eCommerce Shopping Cart

I am attempting to create my first website projects using Adobe BC. I have two client projects both requiring shopping cart functionality 1.) I will manage product inventory and 2.) the second client has strong interest in being able to upload and change product items on their own. This client has also inquired about product upload automation.
Originally being a designer and not a programmer, I myself am finding it somewhat difficult to create and configure a shopping cart solution for these clients Using Adobe BC as opposed to using a hosted template based cart system such as BigCommerce, Godaddy, Shopify, etc.
My questions is, once the site has been created and published on BC, is there a product module in BC that will allow my client the ability to easily upload and change or update pricing and general specs for the products in their shopping cart -or- will the client need to know html, CSS and javascript in order to manage the products in their own shopping cart.
Constructive feedback would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi there,
If you have the eCommerce plan you have the full access to the admin for the client. The admin like many CMS's has full control on products, catalogs, CRM and more. IF you build the site well the client never has to do or touch anything html, css or javascript.
The product side has a full stock, order, invoice management etc ...

  • How do I set up backup for multiple iphones (40 ) in one Itune?

We will as soon as IP5 is released transfer all of our users from IP3/4 (40+) and to make that progress smoothly
we want to backupp all IP's on one computer.
Is it possible to backup multible iphones/Ipads in one Itune?
How do I set it up?
    /Anders

Some of the "sync cart" solutions will hold anywhere from 10 to 40 devices and sync them all to one host pc.....you can also connect multiple devices to a powered usb hub and all of the connected devices will appear on the left side of iTunes...I think the main challenge would be giving each device a meaningful and unique name so that you could identify it when attempting to restore it...we are looking at the the Ergotron tablet management module, they have a user guide that describes the process for connecting multiple devices through their module to one host pc.  You might also look at this solution, which is on the Apple Store.

  • Multiple Filters not working - Design Studio

    Hello All,
I have seen some of the posts regarding this still no luck making my filter work. here is thh back ground. I have a calculation view created and it has company, Cost Centers, Count, Amt. My requirement is to display company codes and upon slection display appropriate cost centers. I am uning Design Studio 1.2
The calculation view is built on HANA Directly (side cart solution)
Created 2 data sources and 2 drop down (DROPDOWN_BUKRS, DROPDOWN_KOSTL)
           1. DS_BUKRS : BUKRS, KOUNT
           2. DS_KOSTL  : BUKRS, KOSTL, KOUNT  - Background filter - BUKRS
         On Startup - works fine
          DROPDOWN_BUKRS.setItems(DS_BUKRS.getMemberList("BUKRS", MemberPresentation.EXTERNAL_KEY, MemberDisplay.KEY, 10));
         On Selection (DROPDOWN_BUKRS)
DS_KOSTL.setFilterExt("BUKRS", DROPDOWN_BUKRS.getSelectedValue());   - Applying the selected BUKRS as filter to DS_KOSTL
          DROPDOWN_KOSTL.setItems(DS_KOSTL.getMemberList("KOSTL", MemberPresentation.EXTERNAL_KEY, MemberDisplay.KEY, 1000));
When I select the company code first time it brings up some cost centers (Not Accurate, but brings some cost centers), When I change the company code I get an error 'All selections for dimnesion company codes are invalid and have been discared'
    Quetions
    1. Dynamic filter thru drop down box (Designedr 1.2) does it work with HANA version 1.0.7
    2. how is the back ground filter works , that is defined in the Inial Edit view... (I am treating like a variable we use in BEx and passing teh value throu .setFilterExt)
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Arthur.

    Hi Arthur Samson
I would like to answer your Qn2 first.
How does background filter in Edit Initial view works -
If you wish to filter a dimension of the data source without being displayed in the data set, you can add that dimension in background filter.
For eg - If you have a table displaying Cost center and the amount. If you wish to filter this data set for a particular company code - add the company code in background filter.
    Coming to Qn1.
Approach 1 - Try using single Data source.
    eg -
    DS_1  : BUKRS-> KOSTL-> KOUNT   ( follow this drill down row1->row2->row3)
    On Startup -
          DROPDOWN_BUKRS.setItems(DS_1.getMemberList("BUKRS", MemberPresentation.EXTERNAL_KEY, MemberDisplay.KEY, 10));
    On selection of DROPDOWN_BUKRS
    DS_1.setFilterExt("BUKRS", DROPDOWN_BUKRS.getSelectedValue());         DROPDOWN_KOSTL.setItems(DS_1.getMemberList("KOSTL", MemberPresentation.EXTERNAL_KEY, MemberDisplay.KEY, 1000));
I believe this should work fine.
    Approach 2
If you need two data source for some reason
try removing the BUKRS from back ground filter and add as first level of drill down (row 1 )
    DS_KOSTL  : BUKRS, KOSTL, KOUNT
    Thanks

For example when I hit "Check" on the shoppoing cart screen I get a popup  saying  that "Shopping cart Test has no errors and can be orderd".
I am looking to thorw a popup which has got "yes" and "no" options ( like function module POPUP_TO_CONFIRM in GUI ) and based on the users choice the logic follows through.

  • Accepting Credit Card Payments

Please be patient, this is new for me. I know the bare
minimum, and have only designed basic web sites. (I'm primarily a
    print designer.)
I have a client that needs to be able to accept credit card
payments on his site. No shopping cart, no products being sold.
He's a debt collector, and wants people to be able to come to his
site to make a payment directly. I tried talking him into Paypal
because I think I can figure that out. But he wants the credit card
    stuff directly on HIS site.
I know he needs to have SSL set up (right?). He set up his
hosting himself, so I'll have to find out what he has. He has to
have some kind of merchant services in order to accept credit card
payments...I'm trying to get that info from him as well. I'm at the
point where I don't even know what to ask him or tell him.
I've found third-party services out there that seemed like a
good idea (some mentioned on this forum), but they're for setting
up shopping carts. I don't need that, just the payment part.
Is there anyone out there willing to point me in the right
direction?? What's the equation for getting this accomplished?
    Thank you!

    Hi Lisa:
If you want to work with a payment gateway, you're pretty
    much going to
have to use a shopping cart solution as they include
    scripting that
enables the cart to interface with the payment gateway.
    Otherwise you're
going to have to hand code your API calls to the payment
    gateway.
Here are some things to think about:
    1. Does he have a database that you can put online so that he
    can search
    and view creditor records?
    2. Does his hosting provider support any kind of Server Model
    such as
    ASP, PHP or Coldfusion?
    3. Does the payment data need to be stored in a database so
    your client
can retrieve it at a later time, or does he plan to use the
    payment
gateway's control panel to view payments received?
These three questions need to be answered to determine the
    extent of the
application you can develop. I'd recommend strongly that the
    client have
a database which stores all creditor information, including a
    creditor
ID and that the website you develop have a User
    Authentication module so
that creditors can log in to their own accounts, view their
    records and
make partial or full payments to your client using your
    application.
To implement this, you're going to have to host your site on
    a server
that supports a Server Model such as ASP VBScript, ASP
    JScript, PHP or
Coldfusion. Have your client check with his hosting provider
    to see what
Server Model is supported if any. You may need to move him to
    a hosting
provider that supports one of these models. This is because
    however you
implement this application you're going to AT LEAST be able
    to post form
data to a processor page that uses a server language(model).
If a database of creditor information is on the server, it
    makes sense
to store payment information in the database and to update
    creditor
information, or to give your client administrator privileges
    so that he
can update the creditor information when a payment has been
    made. Also
consider that there may be fees such as interest on principle
    or some
kind of amortization calculation to determine the actual
    percentage of
the debt that has been paid when a partial payment is made.
With this information in mind, and knowing that you'll have
    to code User
Authentication, Payment Calculations, API scripting to pass
    data to the
payment gateway, Success and Failure pages that display data
    about the
payment as well as a search pages to display creditor data to
    the
creditor as well as a back-end administrative application to
    allow your
client to update the data in his database, you may want to
    consider
using some tools to help you with this kind of project.
WebAssist has the tools to allow you to build the User
    Authentication,
Data search and manipulation and also the non-shopping cart
    payment
application that you need to use which will interface
    silently with
payment gateways such as Autorize.NET, PayPal's Website
    Payments Pro,
Payflow Pro, LinkPint API as well as international payment
    gateways such
as eWay and ProTX. Check out these tools and see if they will

  • Edge 3.1 Data Services connection to SAP ECC 5.0 on AIX server

I've got a client who is trying to create a Data Services extract from an SAP ECC 5.0 system on an AIX server.  The Data Services is installed on a Windows box and is the Edge 3.1 version. He is able to connect to the SAP datastore, is able to import the metadata for a table and browse the data, but the data transport in the R/3 Data Flow fails due to a permissions problem on the file generated in the working directory on the SAP server (as indicated by the Data Services error message).
We have confirmed that the file can be opened and modified by the same user that the Data Integration service is running under. I have also duplicated his environment and settings in a sandbox virtual machine, except that our SAP ECC 6.0 system is running on MS Windows Server 2003, and the transfer works fine in that environment.
Does anyone know how to resolve this issue? Is there a permissions setting we're missing?

Simply means that in the case you have more than one instance you need to shutdown down the instance you are working on and all the other ones too.

  • Building Form in Acrobat with Pages

I am building a website for a friend and my friend wants a way where a customer can order online. Before buying the domain, i am outlining the site, starting with ordering online. So i want i want it when you click on the order page, it will open a PDF with an interactive form. I made a header in pages with the company name, and i exported it to PDF and opened it in acrobat and ran the form assistant and want to manually put in the forms. i want to make fields for email, name, and address. Then at the bottom hit submit. Now when the submit button is pressed i want an email to be sent to my friends email address. Is that possible? And when my friend gets the email who will the from address be from? One more thing, is there a way for the PDF to check to see if the email is valid? Thank you in advance

paypal offer a complete shopping cart solution that can be integrated into almost any website. This include collection contact/shipping/item info.
if you want to collect contact info you could use a HTML form integrated into a website.

  • Wordpress - as a website developer, is it worth learning?

I've always made websites with Dreamweaver using HTML, CSS, and Jquery. If the client wanted a CMS, I used CushyCMS or Pagelime. I haven't done an eCommerce website, but if I was called upon to do one, I guess I would have installed Shopify or something similar.
I've been thinking I should learn how to create custom websites for my clients powered with Wordpress. My reasoning for that was that it provides a free CMS and shopping cart solution for them, plus who knows what other goodies are available?? I imagine a plethora of fabulous stuff that I can put on their websites very easily, like discussion forum pages and opt-in newsletter buttons and other magic widget thingies.
I have a new client who has specifically requested a Wordpress site, so now seems to be the time to learn. However, having spent a whole day already trying to get my head around Wordpress, and reading a few comments on the forums here, I've realised it's actually not that easy! Certainly not the magic carpet ride it says it is! I think it'll be quite a learning curve for the client, and maybe Cushy is a better option for clients who just want a simple CMS for their business website.
What do others on the forum think? Is it worth a developer going to the effort to learn Wordpress? Is there any advantage to my clients? Does it have a free shopping cart solution?

Yes it's worth at least investigation Wordpress. No, it's not that easy to get your head around.
What you have to do is determine what it is you want your client to have the ability to do. Personally I can't see a reason to give a client FULL CMS control of a website because they will create a train wreck in only a few days. No CMS is a subsitute for a professional web developer.
What I'm leaning towards is implementing Wordpress into sites of say 20-30 pages or less, where specific area/pages of the site can be updated by the client. Anything bigger then its my opinion that the company probably needs help updating the site and should employ a professional to do so.
You don't need to take onboard the FULL capabilities of Wordpress just isolate the bits that fit in with YOUR workflow NOT Wordpresses workflow.
With this in mind my approach (at the moment) is to build a site as normal in Dreamweaver and then integrate Wordpress into it so I have control rather than what is the normal procedure where Wordpress takes control and you have to jump through hoops manipulating other peoples themes and css files.
Many Wordpress tutorial you'll find on the net are outdated or assume you know more than you do about Wordpress and leave you 'hanging'
After Googling around I found what I believe to be one which is fairly easy to follow and shows you how to turn a static html website into a Wordpress CMS website.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1o2XcHqQbRY&list=UU0f9NbKjUUbnL2cOa12ENIQ&index=81&feature= plcp
The tutorial above is very basic BUT very understandable, you have to then build on it to take advantage of more Wordpress features like adding new editable 'content blocks' and 'global post areas'.
Wordpress in its original form is very powerful but rather complex to understand as the pages are made up from compiling a number of other files into one page. If you have been used to building in Dreamweaver then this will most likey NOT be a comfortable workflow for you. The video link above shows you how to avoid this and yet still get some CMS fetaures into your site.
Personally I think Wordpress 'out of the box' is either for amateurs or those who are extremely advanced in html, css and php. Those inbetween are well advised to sift through Wordpress and disregard the bits that will cause issues. Take for instance the automated menu system. May sound good but what happens when your client adds more menu buttons to your carefully crafted horizontal menu bar. Depending on the space it could we'll break it very very easily. So you need to know what bits of Wordpress to include and what bits not to.

  • Accepting Merchant Account Payments w/FormsCentral

I have clients that sell professional services with 6 or fewer service offerings. Typical shopping cart solutions seem to be a hassle and more for multiple item online stores.
I did not have a good experience with FomrsCentral in the summer of 2012, finding it lacking in design freedom. Being a graphic designer and not a programmer I am able to design great sites using Adobe Muse, but Muse falls way short on application functionality widgets that are popular and in demand, one being forms regardless of the recent upgrade. I am reconsidering FormsCentral or will consider any solution this post may provide. The recent Muse upgrade now offering forms anywhere is a great addition but there is still a lot missing. I have 2 questions:
1.) I want to allow form submitters to upload a file "Attachment" how can I make this happen?
2.) I need an easy to create payment solution that I can integrate with Muse that allows me to set-up payment for services using a regular merchant gateway solution other than PayPal. Is FormsCentral payment feature only for PayPal Premier and Business accounts or can other merchant processing gateways solutions be used? If not, is there another solution that anyone can recommend?

    Hi,
Thanks for your interests in FormsCentral. Here are the answers to your questions:
    1. Yes, FormsCentral supports File Attachements. You can simply add a file attachment field to your form bye selecting the File Attachment widget in "Add Item" pane.
    2. As for payment gateway, FormsCentral supports PayPal only at the moment.
    Thanks,
    Wenlan

  • Apple Devices Targeted for Trojans

Well, it had to happen sooner, or later. For decades, Mac-users have touted the advanced security of all Apple devices, against viruses, Trojans, spy-ware and malware. They wave that banner as the equipment's superiority. Much of the truth of that matter has been their tiny market share. Most writers of malware have just not taken the time to target Apple devices. Well, enter the iPad. Guess who is the target of a recent hacking? One of the intents of this pair was to write and distribute Trojans onto all iPads. Read all about it HERE. It appears that so far, all that has been done is a major security compromise, but read what the final goal was - distribute nasties to all iPads.
Guess that PC's are not the only vulnerable devices on the planet.
    Hunt
PS - I can just see the new ad now:
Man at pool - "How can you read that device - out here in this light?"
Lady at pool - "Oh, it's a Kindle, and I can read it in any light."
    Background audio - "Achoo-o-o-o!"
Lady at pool - "Seems that your iPad has caught a virus... "

I know we're talking about Apple devices, but according to everything I have read, Windows 7 is more secure than OS X. As you stated, the Apple desktop/laptop market share has been traditionally too small for hackers to bother with. Mercy on the Mac user when/if they get deluged with the kind of garbage us PC users have grown accustomed to dealing with. I really don't think the Mac people are ready for that.  Just yesterday I visited a client who uses both Macs and PCs to check for malware and key loggers before we put together their new ecommerce solution. They have no anti-virus or malware protection  on their Macs at all.  This seems to be pretty much the norm for the Mac community.
Purely malicious virus and malware development is a lot less common these days than the newer breed of profitable malware. Stealth malware that turns computers into spam dispensers is currently the greatest threat.  Somewhat recently Open Source PHP programs like OSCommerce have become targets for hackers.  The owner of the company that hosts my website has had his share of headaches related to that.  For example many if not most hosting services include CPanel which has a feature called Fantastico.  You go into that panel and around 60 PHP Open Source programs are available for install into your domain. These programs include website calendars, shopping carts and forums just to name a few.
Take the shopping cart program OSCommerce for example.  Let's say, you run a hosting service and many of your customers install the free OSCommerce shopping cart.  When they installed it, they didn't take the appropriate security precautions like changing the "Admin" folder to something cryptic etc.  They load their cart up with inventory and the Open source community who built the program, stops supporting it. No more security updates. It exists everywhere on your hosting company's servers without being updated in years.  This is currently one of the prime targets for hackers.  What does a hosting company do, tell  clients to use another shopping cart solution?  From what I have read, hosting services that have OSCommerce installed on their servers even need to notch down their server security settings because the program won't run on Free BSD servers running the latest security patches.
The solution is simple, but obviously not practiced.  If people just used their head and NEVER clicked on spam emails, the malware for profit industry would die out.  I suppose, unfortunately we might just go back to frustrated genius hackers creating destructive malware and viruses because they were forced to work a traditional job.
