Short dump: Conversion from type 'c' to 'v' not possible

Hi,
When do we get the following error? 'Conversion from type "c" to "v" not possible'.
I am getting this dump when I try to assign a structure to a field symbol.
This is happening only for a specific structure type.
Thanks in advance,
Regards,
Wenonah

Hi,
type - v is Structure with internal table , deep structure....
u might have declared the field-symbol as a typed one.....
Declaring it a generic one like type any as suggested in above post might solve the problem.....
Cheers,
Jose

  • Conversion from type 'CalculatedFieldWrapperImpl' to type 'Integer' is not valid._

    Hi,
I'm using SSRS 2008 to create a relatively simple report with a stored procedure as the dataset. The SP runs fine (no errors) but when I try to run the report I get "Conversion from type 'CalculatedFieldWrapperImpl' to type 'Integer' is not valid. "
error message. The data type is declared as int in SQL. I'm using several other int fields in the report without a problem.  Anyone familiar with this error?  Thanks.

Hmm, my research also suggests multi-value parameters may be the cause, but you say there aren't any in the report. These sings can sometimes be generated automatically though, even if you haven't knowingly created one. You could try checking the .rdl
file directly (if you're using BIDS, just go to View > Code, otherwise load the report into wordpad or similar) and searching for the term 'Parameter' to see if there is anything there. Otherwise, I'm afraid I'm getting a bit lost for ideas
too.I work to UK time. If this post, or another, answers your question, please click the 'Mark as answer' button so others with the same problem can find a solution more easily.

    Hi All,
I am getting this short dump for few loads. The error is :

To prevent the exception, note the following:
Database error text........: "ORA-01555: snapshot too old: rollback segment
number 108 with name "PRS_77" too small"
Did any body got this eror:If so,could you please explain why it's comming and how to fix this permanently?
    Thanks
    Manish

The DBA probably needs to increase the size of the Rollback segment and/or tablespace.
Google the error message for more info. Here's a link to Jonathan Lewis's (well known Oracle author)site.

  • Posting from vendor consignment into project not possible?

    Hello,
I want to consume my materials out of vendor consignment stock for a project.
Everytime I try to do a GI consgt f. project (mvmt 221 K) with MIGO, I receive following error message:
"Account 41100100 requires an assignment to a CO object".
Is it maybe not possible to consume out of vendor consignment into project?
    Regards,
    Sofia

    Hi,
That's right, you must assign an WBS code to the consumption from consignment to project, beacause system need to book the consumption stock value under the WBS of project.
    Hope can help you!
    Good day and nice weekend

  • DST prob for conversion from US/Eastern- GMT but not from GMT- US/Eastern.

    Hi folks,
I'm running the following SQL against a Oracle 10.2.0.1 g server using Oracle SqlDeveloper 1.5.3 & then again using SQLPlus 10.2.0.1.0.
I'm attempting to provide SQL that highlights the jump forward by one hour at 2am US/Eastern on 14th Mar 2010.
In order to do this I've converted times from GMT into US/Eastern using the oracle function from_tz and to_timestamp.
The following sql statements are suffixed with a 'correct' or 'incorrect' as to whether they correlate to what I would expect and indeed to the time returned from the World Clock website.
    =======================
    = Via Oracle SqlDeveloper 1.5.3
    =======================
-- The first section of selects highlight the jump of 1 hour forward that occurs on the 14th of March 2010 by converting the GMT time to the corresponding US/Eastern time and the second block reverses the conversion.
    select from_tz(to_timestamp('14-MAR-2010 0500' , 'DD-MON-YYYY HH24MI'), 'GMT') at time zone 'US/Eastern' from dual; -- returns 14-MAR-10 00:00:00.000000000 US/EASTERN correct
    select from_tz(to_timestamp('14-MAR-2010 0600' , 'DD-MON-YYYY HH24MI'), 'GMT') at time zone 'US/Eastern' from dual; -- returns 14-MAR-10 01:00:00.000000000 US/EASTERN correct
    select from_tz(to_timestamp('14-MAR-2010 0659' , 'DD-MON-YYYY HH24MI'), 'GMT') at time zone 'US/Eastern' from dual; -- returns 14-MAR-10 01:59:00.000000000 US/EASTERN correct
    select from_tz(to_timestamp('14-MAR-2010 0700' , 'DD-MON-YYYY HH24MI'), 'GMT') at time zone 'US/Eastern' from dual; -- returns 14-MAR-10 03:00:00.000000000 US/EASTERN correct
    select from_tz(to_timestamp('14-MAR-2010 0701' , 'DD-MON-YYYY HH24MI'), 'GMT') at time zone 'US/Eastern' from dual; -- returns 14-MAR-10 03:01:00.000000000 US/EASTERN correct
    select from_tz(to_timestamp('14-MAR-2010 0800' , 'DD-MON-YYYY HH24MI'), 'GMT') at time zone 'US/Eastern' from dual; -- returns 14-MAR-10 04:00:00.000000000 US/EASTERN correct

    select from_tz(to_timestamp('14-MAR-2010 0159' , 'DD-MON-YYYY HH24MI'), 'US/Eastern') at time zone 'GMT' from dual; -- returns 14-MAR-10 06:59:00.000000000 US/EASTERN correct
    select from_tz(to_timestamp('14-MAR-2010 0200' , 'DD-MON-YYYY HH24MI'), 'US/Eastern') at time zone 'GMT' from dual; -- returns 14-MAR-10 07:00:00.000000000 US/EASTERN incorrect
    select from_tz(to_timestamp('14-MAR-2010 0300' , 'DD-MON-YYYY HH24MI'), 'US/Eastern') at time zone 'GMT' from dual; -- returns 14-MAR-10 08:00:00.000000000 US/EASTERN incorrect
    select from_tz(to_timestamp('14-MAR-2010 0301' , 'DD-MON-YYYY HH24MI'), 'US/Eastern') at time zone 'GMT' from dual; -- returns 14-MAR-10 08:01:00.000000000 US/EASTERN incorrect
    select from_tz(to_timestamp('14-MAR-2010 0400' , 'DD-MON-YYYY HH24MI'), 'US/Eastern') at time zone 'GMT' from dual; -- returns 14-MAR-10 09:00:00.000000000 US/EASTERN incorrect
which is as I would expect. At 6:59am GMT the time in US/Eastern is 1:59 am, however, at 7:00am the time in US/Eastern is now 3:00am. This correlates to the times I get back when I perform the same calculations using the converter at the WorldClock.
    http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html
However when I attempt to perform the same conversions except in reverse i.e. from US/Eastern to GMT I get different results.
-- everything is fine up until the actual time of the change over (2am US/Eastern). With the 2:00am time though I would expect Oracle or perhaps even the SqlDeveloper client to indicate either of the following :-
    a) the time 14-MAR-10 02:00am US/Eastern is actually a non-existant time as per the WorldClock.
    b) that it's defaulting the time 14-MAR-10 02:00am to 14-MAR-10 03:00am US/Eastern
instead the results proceeding the sql statements are output and for any time on/after 2am they are 1 hour behind their correct GMT times as per the world clock.
I understand that there is a patch for timezone's from 10.2.0.1 to 10.2.0.4 that should address this, however, the reason I'm posting this is because when I run the above SQL in sqlplus against the same server I get different results except this time both conversions are incorrect.

so it's as if the Oracle Client SqlDeveloper somehow intervenes as the results come back from the server an adjusts it for the first set of conversions but not the second.
Basically it looks like I need the patch for the timezones for 10.2.0.1 but what about the Clients? Is there patches I then need for them? Would the SqlPlus client that ships with 10.2.0.4 return the correct results or once the patch is applied to the server.
Has anyone else encountered this problem and if so would they be able to point me in the direction of a resource describing and resolving it?
    Thanks,
    Mark.

    Hey Robert,
Yes indeed we are paying for Oracle support? As far as I know I logged in through metalink in an effort to investigate this problem.
Our DBA upgraded from 10.2.0.4 to 10.2.0.1 and all the inconsistency went away thankfully.
Thanks for taking the time to reply to me,
    Mark.

Putting off the developer mode (in project properties) would supress this error, this is a developer mode exception.
In case you have modified code, then follow the intruction from the error to get rid of the error, even with developer mode set to true.

  • Updated to iOS 5.0 / restore Backup from iOS 4.3.3 not possible!!!

    Hi everybody!
On Saturday I changed my iPhone 4 on the new operating system iOS 5.0, here the steps as I proceeded:
    Usind iTunes 10.5.0.142
    1) I'm beginning to create a full backup (as the backup was still iOS 4.3.3).
    2) Then I wanted to select the previously downloaded "iPhone3, 1_5.0_9A334_Restore.ipsw" update file (Shift-click the Update button and choose file).
    3) In this process I was constantly getting back the error message "3002".
    4) In various forums I have read to update the iPhone via Restore and choosing the "iPhone3, 1_5.0_9A334_Restore.ipsw" file (Shift-clicking the Restore button and choosing file) and then restore the previously created backup (from iOS 4.3.3) so that messages etc. will be retained.
    5) The Update via Restore (Shift-clicking the Restore button and choosing file "iPhone3, 1_5.0_9A334_Restore.ipsw") works fine!
    6) However, it can't restore the created Backup (from the iOS 4.3.3) because "it's broken or not compatible"
    7) Downgrade to 4.3.3 iOS is no longer possible.
    Can someone please help me?
    I would be very grateful!
    Thanks in advance.
    Kind regards

I have been working on this for the last two days - and still no luck. Did a reset. Did a restore. Now I am doing "Set up as new phone." Not very hopeful, but will let you know.  Even called the Apple Store, and they were no help.  Does anyone have an answer?

  • Restore from server with Time Machine not possible

I am not able to do a Restore with the Recovery Drive and the Option "Restore from Time Machine Backup". If i try to connect to the appropriate Backup Drive on my Server Running Server Version 4 on OS X 10.10.1 i continue to have "With the connection to the Server a problem occurred, contact your System Administrator".
    Any hints:
Recovery drive on iMac to be Recovered: OS X 10.10
    on Server:
OS X 10.10.1 with Server Version 4 and Time Machine turned on.
    Any hints?

    I try this:
    1. Detach Backup Drive from Server (in my Case Lacie 4 Big)
    2. Mount the Drive with Disk Utility and the dmg file to the iMac to be restored
    3. Start restore
i know if this worked in 1h 15min

  • Sending e-mail from Ical to mail is not possible?!

    Hi out there!
I desperately need to know how I use the alarm from Ical where it sends me a reminder by mail. When I choose "send e-mail" in the "alarm-window" in my event it says something like this: "You have to add your own card to your e-mailadress in your adressbook before you can use post-alarms" (this is translated from danish)
Does anyone know what to do?
I have my own adress in my adressbook... How do I get ical to find it?
Any help will be very appreciated!
    Thanks!

I have the same problem and need an answer too.

  • Removing stripes from list view in Finder not possible?

I was just informed by the makers of Cocktail that you can no longer disable those nasty stripes in list view. Can anyone else confirm this? And if so why is there still an entry to disable it in the finder .plist file?
    J

I agree 100%. Why would Apple insist in stuffing down our throat such an ugly background is beyond me.
I "looked" around in the finder resources and there is this:
    /Volumes/Leone/System/Library/CoreServices/Finder.app/Contents/Resources/English .lproj/ListView.nib
it's a compiled .nib, so it's not easy to look at it. The funny things is that if you read it as an xml file and compare it with a view brand new list view that has a striped background it seems that the bit for stripes is turned OFF by default. So maybe the stripes are changed procedurally not as a resource and maybe there is a way to change it.
I'm not good enough unfortunately to look in the Finder code to see if that is true

  • Short Dump while fetching values from a Database view

    Hi ALL,
Here is the code that is giving short dump
SELECT * FROM ZVMATLMOVE INTO TABLE I_MATLMOVE
        WHERE BUDAT >= V_LASTRUN_DATE
        AND   WERKS IN S_WERKS
        AND   LIFNR IN S_LIFNR
        AND   EBELN IN S_EBELN
        AND   MATNR IN S_MATNR
        AND   BWART IN S_BWART
(Please don't say that I am using * in the select query,
I knew that it is not a good way of fetching values)
Declaration of the internal table is:
DATA  I_MATLMOVE LIKE ZVMATLMOVE OCCURS 0 WITH HEADER LINE.
    The variable V_LASTRUN_DATE is:
    DATA  V_LASTRUN_DATE LIKE SY-DATUM.
We will be getting the lastrundate value from another table. And it is passing correct value (ex. 20060731)
ZVMATLMOVE is a database view created for MKPF and MSEG table. And I checked both table were consistent.
    Dump Analysis:
    Runtime errors         DBIF_RSQL_SQL_ERROR
    Exception              CX_SY_OPEN_SQL_DB
Every thing is fine. But I don't know how it is going to dump. Any suggestions?

    Hi !
It seams that your table is not correct / fully activated.
To check it out you should try the following:
    - Go to the SE11
    - Give it your table name and go to "Display"
    - Check if the table is "active"
    - Choose "Utilities->Database Object->Check" and see
      if there are any errors
    - go back and choose "Utilities->Runtime Object->Check"
and see if there are any errors
If there are any errors - try to activate the table again. You may need the "Utilities->Database Utiliy" for that.
After there are no more errors by checking all these your program should work.
    Regards
    Rainer
Some points would be nice if thate helped a bit.

  • Types of Short dumps.

    Hi Gurus,
When there is short dump is there a systematic procedure to solve the short dump apart from checking in ST22 so that we specify this short dump is error due to BAsis or due to BW .
    Is there any thing that?
Please share some knowledge regarding short dumps?

For sure its not always R/3 or its not always due to data.
BW: Dump due to Transformation code.
BAsis: Dump due to less table space. But having said its always hard for to identify if its due to table space or due to transformation so if you know how to identify them ,i would appreciate ur help

      enddo.
    endloop.

    Hi,
The dynamic table that is generated is not converting the exact output length in case of packed numbers.
Foe eg : If there is an packed field of length 7 , the dynamic table is converting it to Char 7 , but the actual output length of Pack 7 is 15.Hence it is giving short dump saying that Internal Table length is not sufficient.
Probably it might have worked for smaller tables for you because you might not have used Packed field in there.
    Regards,
    Vijay.

  • Short Dump CONVERSION_CODEPAGE_UNKNOWN

    Dear All,
    Can you help me?
When I create IT2001 and IT2011 (via tcode PA30), short dump occurred:

    What happened?
Error in the ABAP Application Program
The current ABAP program "SAPFP50P" had to be terminated because it has

But this short dump is occurred only for several PERNR (not all PERNR).
    How can I fix this?
