Should I buy a ipod at the Istore in airport or should I buy directly from apple

please answer me

If the iStore is a reputable company and not a fly by night company I would not hesitate to purchase from them. I have no idea who iStore is.

  • I just got an iPod touch 5th generation back in November and while I was out in my garage trying to find something on a shelf while standing on a stool, I dropped my iPod touch the screen cracked a bit- anyone know repair prices from Apple?

So I dropped it... And the screen cracked a bit. It's fairly new (got it in November) but I noticed Apple doesn't cover accidents like mine. Anyone know the prices for getting a replacement/ repair? It's not that bad of a crack, but it's annoying and new so..Yah. Any help with prices for a replacement/warranty would be helpful and on how I should do it. Maybe I can get a replacement for cheap or free cuz I got it recently and I've never complained to Apple before? I know it's my mistake but I'd be thankful if you guys could help! Thanks!

Sorry, but the warranty does not cover accidental damage no matter how recently you got your iPod. As to servicing, Apple does not repair iPods, but will replace the entire iPod for a flat fee; see the Repair Pricing section here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/service/faq/
There are independent iPod repair services that may be able to replace the screen for less. Do a web search for "ipod repair". It is also possible to purchase parts and find instructions on doing a repair yourself, though it's not particularly easy. Note, though, that if you elect to have the iPod serviced by an unauthorized shop or perform a repair yourself, all further support from Apple will be void.
    Regards.

  • Buying direct from Apple, faster?

Can't think where else to post this question ...
I'm trying to help a friend put together an edit suite. She is in a hurry. Is she better buying the gear ... basically an iMac with FCP Studio ... straight from Mac, in terms of having it in hand more quickly? Or will a major retail outfit put it together in about the same time frame?
    All ears,
    Ben

If she wants to customize the specs, then she has to order from Apple's online store. If one of the the standard config choices is fine, the fastest way would be to go to an Apple Store (or other brick-and-mortar store that sells Macs) and buy one. Buying from Amazon.com (or other online vendor) may allow her to save on state sales tax (which would be significant for an iMac).
Looking on Apple's +Special Deals+ (clearance and refurb) web page can also save you money, and I've gotten delivery on refurb items the next day, with the standard free shipping (but I think I live about 150 miles from that shipping location).

  • My phone is going to be cut of by orange cos I can't afford the bill but I got my current phone direct from apple shop can I use another SIM card from another network in

my iPhone is going to be cut of by orange as I can't afford the bill, my current phone is direct from an apple shop as I had to have it replaced , can I put another sim in from another network and use my phone on a pay as you go from O2

I have taken it back to the Apple store genius bar, but they say they don't see anything wrong. Well unless you use it all day and experience the problems when they happen, you wont see anything wrong. But there are lots wrong with it. But this would be the same store as I purchased the phone. And they backed up my old Iphone 4, but were not able to get anything to load back onto my new phone. So, I lost pretty much everything. But over time, some of my contacts have started showing up, although i am still missing over 800 of them.

  • Are there any provisions in place for overseas military not able to buy direct from Apple Store to get an option of a track pad instead of magic mouse when buying a new iMac? It seems that the new OS is going to NEED trackpad and magic mouse will moot

I AM A PASSIONATE APPLE USER. Please don't get me wrong. I love every Apple product we have. I am just a bit discouraged that as a person living and working overseas, I do not have the same opportunity to build my Mac to my specifications. I am bound to buying the products through the Exchange. I appreciate that they are carried but when I compare to the Store, I am discouraged that there are some FREE options offered to Stateside folks not offered to AAFES/Exchange consumers. I want a track pad instead of a mouse. It seems that is where Mac technology is headed. Lion will all but REQUIRE it for many of the new features coming! Apple should offer new purchasers the opportunity for a free upgrade to a track pad!

  • Can one buy a new top of the line MacPro with Snow Leopard on it directly from Apple store?

I'm considering a new Mac Pro desktop with two identical video graphics card, a bazillion GB of RAM, etc., but want no part of Lion and/or Mountain Lion.  I'm wondering if Apple still sell them.
Has anyone bought one such beast from the Apple store recently?
    Thanks in advance.

Thank you for the lightning fast response, mende1.
From the lack of Snow Leopard options at the Apple store, I was already getting the impression that it was not feasible anymore.  It's good to know for certain.
That leaves me with the choice of a used/refurbished Mac or a Windoze box with Windows 7 on it, which can still be obtained from HP, and maybe Dell and others.
Just as I want no part of the stinky lions, I want no part of Windows 8 either.
From my point of view, the engineers at Apple and Microsoft lost their minds with their latest operating systems.  It's mind boggling!

  • If I buy a digital book in  EPUB size from a web site, how I may read it on my IPad? Specify that I didn't buy it from Apple Store.

If I buy a digital book in  EPUB size from a web site, how I may read it on my IPad? Specify that I didn't buy it from Apple Store.

First, epub has nothing to do with size, it is a file format that is popularly used for ebooks, but ebooks published in epub file formats vary greatly in file size.
It will depend on where you buy it.  Many books are DRM locked (Digital Rights Management, a software lock).  If so, in order to load it into another companies reader or reader software, you need to use something like Adobe Digital Editions to "authorize" the book on the device.  Apple's iBook software does not work with ADE.
If the book was DRM free, you should be able to read it in any ereader or ereader program that supports epub format.
If the book is DRM locked to B&N, Amazon, Kobo or whichever seller you shopped from, then the simples thing is to download their free app for the iPad (they all make one, in fact they all make free apps for iPad, Android, Mac OS X and Windows).
So the short answer is yes, you should be able to read any epub ebook file on an iPad, although not necessarily in iBook.
    So, books from
Amazon - get the Kindle reader app
B&N - get the Nook reader app
Kobo - get the Kobo reader app
non-DRM epubs can be read in iBook, Nook, Kobo, or Google Play

You can't buy anything. Points are available in all countries, but again you cannot buy anything.

You said you would pay any price for Siri. You want Siri, it's $700.

  • HT3402 Where is the ID Number If I downloaded Aperture directly From Apple with no Disk?

Where can I find my Aperture 3 serial number if I downloaded it directly from Apple and do not have a disk and therefore do no have a serial number on a box?

    This is me.
    Aperture 3.2.4
Are you sure, it is the AppStore version and not an Apple Store version? The version number suggests, you are running Snow Leopard and not Lion or Mt. Lion. With MacOS X 10.7.5 you should have been able to upgrade to Aperture 3.4.5 by now.
If you bought Aperture from the AppStore ( Not the pre-Lion Apple Store version), then the usual solution is to reinstall Aperture.  Have you kept the installer you downloaded? You cannot download you current  Aperture version again, since the AppStore version is now 3.4.5.
But if you downloaded Aperture from the Apple Store, you should have received a serial number by email. If you cannot find your serial number, contact Apple with a proof of purchase:

  • Buying from MacMall - can I still buy AppleCare from Apple later?

I am getting ready to buy a powerbook 12" from MacMall (a great deal - $1219 and a free printer, bag and tablet). I don't want to buy AppleCare now, but will in a few months (when I have more money).
Will I be able to purchase it still from Apple? Or do you have to buy the powerbook directly from Apple to do that?
Thanks so much, as soon as I hear back I'm clicking the "buy" button!

So... it doesn't matter that I buy the computer from
Mac Mall? Apple will still sell me the AppleCare??
You can buy it online at the Apple Store so I think it does not matter where you bought it originally.

  • If I buy Iphone from Apple Store, can I transfer to Virgin Mobile?

If I buy any Iphone from Apple Store, can I transfer it to Virgin Mobile? Because Virgin Mobile for Iphone is expensive than regular price. So I favor to buy it from Apple Store. Can anything I get it to Virgin Mobile??

    Hi Court,
When you buy a phone from the Apple Store, they are going to automatically attach it to a carrier.  I'm not sure if you're with one right now but either way this is the case.  The price you're paying for the phone is relative and I'll give you detail as to what that means.
Virgin Mobile: No contracts and month to month
    iPhone Cost (32GB: $649)
    Verizon: 2yr Contract
    iPhone Cost (32GB: $299)
    Monthly Bill: $100 (All in)
Now understand the math here.  Over 2 years with Verizon, you'll be paying ($100 * 24months) + $299 = $2,700.  So you're locked in for 2 years.  You'll have to pay a termination fee if you want to leave early which I'm sure will equal so some of the amount balance of the phone for what Verizon bought it at.  You're paying less upfront but more over the long term.
With Virgin you might end up paying $649 up front but since there are no contracts, you can leave anytime.

    JC

  • Hi, May I ask... If I buy iphone from apple store, will I have to pay another taxes if I'm not in US?

Hi, May I ask... If I buy iphone from apple store, will I have to pay another taxes if I'm not in US? I'm from Indonesia.... THX

If you do not have a US billing and shipping address, you can NOT purchase an iPhone from the US Apple web site, if that's what you're asking.
If you are physically in the US, you need to know that #1. Unlocked iPhone 4S will not be available for purchase until some time in November. #2. The warranty is NOT international. If it breaks, you will not be able to get it serviced anywhere but in the US.
As for taxes, you will have to pay sales tax in the US. As far as any duties on the phone are concerned when you take it home, you'll have to inquire of your government for the answer to that.
