Should i retake the exam?

Hello,
I wanna take the exam online, named Oracle Database 11g: SQL Fundamentals I. I see that passing score is 60%, but subject to change (may be changed in the future, even if on the same exam). I wanna ask, if i pass the exam with my score 60%, and for this exam the passing score will be changed (to 70% let's say), i need to retake the exam again, to obtain 70%? Or once the exam is taken, i need not to take it again.
Thanks!

Additionally, exams are updated regularly and a passing score may be changed based on updates to an exam.
If you receive your score report with a passing score, and you score report shows that you passed, we will not take that 'pass' away from you.
The purpose of that statement on the website is to let candidates know that there is a slim possibiliyt that the passing score on the website may not be correct. If an exam has been updated and the passing score has changed, there may be a short period of time in which the new exam is live with the new passing score, but the passing score on the website has not been updated yet. We try very hard to keep these scores in sync, but every now and then they may be out of sync for a period of time.
In conclusion, if you take an exam and your score report shows that the passing score is 60% and your score report shows this as a 'pass' - if the passing score changes to 70% next week, we will not make you re-test on the updated exam.

  • Should I take the 70-290 exam OR the upgrade?, PLEASE HELP

    Hi,
I want to re-enter the IT market of servers, after a long time not working in the particular field of servers,
I thought it's best to complete my MCSA\E, and in the future to achieve more certificates,
I took only the 70-270 exam.
My question is; do I need to complete the 70-290/70-291 exams for the MCSA\E, OR should I take the new exams (the upgrade)?
    Thank you
    Shmuel

There is no upgrade path from MCSA/MCSE 2003, the exams required to finish that certification have been retired an also the upgrade exams to Server 2008 have been retired. There is ony an upgrade path for Server 2008 MCITP certification.
Your best option is to start with the MCSA: Server 2012 certification (3 exams)
    https://www.microsoft.com/learning/en-us/mcsa-windows-server-certification.aspx
From there you can move on to MCSE: Server infrastructure by passing two additional exams:
    https://www.microsoft.com/learning/en-us/mcse-server-infrastructure-certification.aspx
The MCSA exams have self-paced sudy books available from MS-Press that you can use, using video based training like CBT nuggets is also on option.

  • I Just Did the Exam 1Z0-047 - What's Next?

I just passed my first (Internationally Recognized) Oracle exam 1Z0-047. Hmmm, i got %83. I think its good since its my first exam, i felt i could make it better up to %90+. The paper shows 9 bullet points of topics that i may show review. The topics they mentioned i know it really well. Shall i take the exam again? I don't think its a big deal probably %83 is good. Anyway, the exam center gave me a printed paper of my total score. They said Oracle will send another Certification to my address. Which Certification is official? The one i have been given by the exam center is a printed cert (black and point). Which one should i show to the employers?
I'm happy as well as sad because i knew the mistakes i made are silly (i wish to rid of the bullet points argghhhh) + i did the exam after having at least 3 months college hands on experience.

NO DO NOT TRY TO TAKE ANY PASSED EXAM AGAIN - its against certification candidate agreements : [http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=138]
Although the suggested topics are a guide dont dwell on them too much; if you feel you know them ell enough thats fine; move on. Because of the effects of small samples sizes on individual topics these can easily become skewed.

Keep both. 1z0-047 is an exam with fulfills a certification requirement so you get a success pack including a certificate; and thats even more important. Thats the best one to show to your employer; but it may be 8 / 10 weeks beforeyou received it. (NB: Oracle does not send a copy of your exam report - they will only send certificates - however there might be changes when they move to Prometric).

  • 1z0-051 Dealing with the exam

    Hi
I'm preparing 4 1z0-051 exam and i want to master dealing with multi choice questions and lab question and all the detail about the exam technics not the books or references
    thank you

    Amr Halima wrote:
thnk you for response I've read the resources you support me with, and still have some questions:
    1) How can i review the unmarked questions if i discover that my answer is wrong ??
Its actually a while since i took an oracle cert exam, and the last one i took the 'skin' had changed so it was a little different to the classic style. But the basics are the same.
I dont have a exam in front of me as i write this.
There are buttons to go through to NEXT and PREVIOUS questions. If you are at the end of the exam and wish to go to the beginning the thats a lot of previous buttons. But you an goto the review page at the end and jump to the question you require.
You have the option of tagging any as marked for review. The idea is if you have time at the end you can focus your review the questions you have tagged
The final page (and there may well be a button to go this on every page, but dont quote me) while have the means to select
whether you wish to review all questions: all 'unmarked' questions, or 'all tagged for review' questions. The way this worked varied
on the last exam i took; the previous classic style use to show all questions with a checked and a colour to show if the question
had been answered and had been tagged for review. The last exam i took i think the final page worked with buttons used to filter
the questions it dsipayed to just to from between:
    - All questions
    - Questions not fully answered.
    - Questions not tagged for review.
A question is not fully answered if the candidate has not given a sufficient number of answers to which satisfies the question criteria.
    To demonstrate this:
    - Let us consider the question:
Q.34 Choose the following cities where they are not the capital city of the associated country:
A: Dublin is the capital city of the Republic of Ireland
B: Beijing is the capital city of India
C: Moscow is the capital city of Russia
D: Washington is the capital of England
    Select the best two answers:Notes:
    (1) Now B and D are obviously the correct answers, and A and C incorrect.
    (2) Be aware that maybe 3% of candidates as this point would have failed to read the question correctly and will mark A and C as correct, +(Quote(my old Chemistry teacher): if all else fails read the question)+.
    (3) If the candidate only checked one answer, say 'C' then this question would appear on the list of unmarked questions for review and the candidate would not receive marks for the question.
    (4) The the question had said select one or more correct answers and the candidate had checked C only, then the question would NOT appear on the list of unmarked questions. In general high exams such as OCP will contain more questions of the form select one or more possible answers.
You may find it is possible to grey incorrect answers by right clicking them. This can be useful to focus on the correct answers. You can actually do the same thing by writing it on the marker board you are given.
Let us say I come to the question above. Let us say I know for sure 'C' that Russia is the capital of Moscow is true so i eliminate that (Either right to grey it out or write Q34: C-X on my marker board. I know London is the Capital of England so therefore +D: Washington is the capital of england so i check 'D' as I know that is correct.  But let us say i am not sure about A B, which is true and which is false.
    - I mark this question for review as I am not sure about it and perhaps it is worth coming back to later +(If I have time)+. I might make a mark Q34 capitals on by marker board so i know which one to come back to. Even if i dont know the last answer i need to mark i will have wanted to have guessed it by the time i finished the exam. I would certainly want to have made a guess by the end of the exam, so if i am running short of time i would guess as I might not have time to return, if i am well up on time i might leave it unmarked for now.
    - One danger of greying out incorrect answers is one may forget to check the correct answers. I remember finishing an exam and discovering on the review screen i had not answered a question. I had greyed out the wrong answers but forgotten to check the right answers! i would have gotten no marked, as it is checked answers that count. Please be aware greying out of answers are only a help to the candidate and may not be present on all exams
    - Sometimes drag and drop answers may also be present. There may also be exhibits to view; and you should note how these may be tiled onto the screen. Beware of spending too much time looking at these.
    2) for multi choice questions if i have a - choose all that apply- question and i've chose just one answer and it was right .Do I take a part of the mark of the question??
and if i chose all the right answers and one wrong .Do i loose all the mark of the question??In all cases if you fail to select all correct answers you will recieve no marks for the question
    >
what's the grading policy?? i didn't find a topic about this
With Oracle Certification exams one either passes or fails. The pass percentage appears on your exam score report. It does not appear on your certification. The pass mark is chosen after reviewing the exam at the end of beta testing stage, and may be adjusted in production if a revision is demeed necessary.

  • Retake the quiz questions that got wrong answers

    Hi,
I psuedo-asked this before, but I'll ask it outright this
    time.
In using Captivate 3, is there any way to make the user take
the quiz a second time, but skip over the questions that they have
gotten correct, requiring them to redo only the questions they have
gotten wrong? Has anybody found a clever way to get around this?
Right now I can only redirect them to the beginning (with the
continue button) and have them retake the whole quiz.
Please let me know if there's a way around this, Thanks!

I guess you need to take a moment to look at commercial LMS
    offerings. They
are heavily standards based - with the AICC standards being
    around 20 years
old, and Blackboard being 11 years old, for instance. I don't

you feel the need to suggest LMSs are so new, but perception

Maybe insteasd of getting all upitty, you could look again at
    what I said.

Then you could, perhaps, for a second, just think about

    a) what you are asking actually is possible, and
    b) to see if I would even find it useful.

  • Which java version should I code the SCJD assignment?

    Hi All,
I am planning to take SCJD (maybe within a year or earlier). But I am confused as to in which version of java should I submit the assignment(CX-310-252A). I read in "All in one Java 2 SCJP..." book by Kathy Seirra that we must not use a verison (of java) that is more than 18 months older than the current production java version as it would be deemed "out-of-date" by the exam assessors (pg 563).
So going by the same line of thought, does it mean that I can submit the aasignment only in 1.6 (release date-dec 12 2006) and not in java 1.5 or 1.4. Also, if 1.7 gets released early next year and if I am coding in 1.6, then I would have to submit the assignment by june 2008 (or else it would become outdated).
The various java version release dates can be found at: http://mindprod.com/jgloss/javareleasedates.html
Please help me solve this version confusion. (I prefer submitting in 1.4 as I have completed SCJP 1.4)
    SCJP 85%, SCWCD 91%
"Once we accept our limits, we go beyond them"

1.5 is no longer a valid platform 18 months after the
    initial public release of 1.6.
What that means is that your code should work on 1.6
without modifications from that date.Where did you find that information?
It's a bit strange since this is what The EOL for Java says:
    "Technology EOL Policy
    Major Product Family Releases
This would include such products as Java 2 Platform,
Standard Edition 1.4.2 and 5.0. The Java technology policy
is to support the current shipping version of Java
Standard Edition plus two back versions. Once the
End-of-Life process starts on a major product family
release, a notice will be posted on all relevant download
pages stating that the product has entered the EOL
process and how long the process will continue until the
product is no longer supported by Sun."http://java.sun.com/products/archive/eol.policy.html
So that means that 1.4.2 will enter EOL when Java 7 is released. How can a version that hasn't entered the EOL life cycle not be valid?

  • Cost of the exam 1zo-146

    Dear All,
I want to appear in the exam 1zo-146. I am from india. The oracle site says Rs 8014 is required to appear in the exam. My question is whether there exists any additional service charge of RS 1200 against the exam.
If it is required then ok but if some one is asking you for the extra money where some one should complain about it.

The exam seems to be figure quoted today when I checked for India.
At first glance there is a possibility someone at the test center (I assume you are talking to a test center) may have been trying to put some money in his own pocket.  But there may be other explanations, a test center may only give exams to it's own students .... so that is what it is all about,
I don know the exact communications that occurred between yourself and the test center.
    I would suggest:
    (1) Getting a test booked:
--- Identify any alternative test centers close to you, consider using a different one.
--- Try to book the test via Pearson VUE or online, That may the "surcharge" shouldnt occur.  Links from the certification.oracle.com website ....
    (2) Reporting the fraud.
If you feel you there was corruption attempt by the test center you should do one of the following:
-- If you wish to continue with this get a CLEAR detailed account of the what happened with dates, names, times:
    Do ONE of the following:-
[A] -- From the certification.oracle.com website, raise an Service Request - problems with the test center.  NOTE THE SR number.
-- -- Optionally raise a email to OCP_FRAUD with same info quoting the SR number.
[B] -- Ring up Pearson VUE and discuss with them ( Its unlikely the Pearson VUE frontline will be interested.
[C] -- Raise an exam security issue from the pearson VUE website.
I presume this was all verbal.
The choice is yours (especially as you raised two threads).

  • Should I upgrade the internal hdd on my 2008 8.1 iMac or use an external drive?

I have an external hdd right now it is a 500gb go seagate goflex with a number of iTunes folders that I put on from my windows pc. I just received this 2008 2.4ghz core 2 duo 8.1 iMac and tried to import the files. The internal hdd is only 250gb so they would not fit, when I tried to get iTunes to run from the external drive it would but I would have to manually open each artist then album then song I wanted in the Finder for it to play. The songs do not show up automatically in iTunes, even though I think I followed all of the instructions for external hdd support. I was going to buy a new iMac and have the genius set it up, but now I think I am going to upgrade the RAM myself and am deciding wether or not I should also replace the internal hdd to 2TB or just get an external hdd so when I get a new iMac, maybe next year, I could still use it. However, I don't want to get another, larger external hdd if I'm going to have a hard time transferring all of my media to iTunes. Can I pay to have an apple genius do this at the store? I just upgraded the operating system to Snow Leopard and am waiting to upgrade RAM before moving to Mountain Lion. I just want my iTunes to sync up, at this point I will do just about anything, short of buying a new Mac. Thanks for any help.

You can keep your iTunes collection on an external drive.  You can also keep just bulky items that you may not want to see often such as movies and just keep smaller items on the internal drive.  This split option is more tricky but there are several ways to do it.
If all you have is a modest music collection, you can manage with an internal drive.  Most modern media collections with huge movies files fast outpace even larger internal hard drives and you will have to resort to an external drive.  Your computer dating from 2008 is (according to Apple's coproration standards) on its way to becoming a museum piece (hey, I still use a 10 year old computer, but Apple gave up hope for me years ago).  I would not upgrade the internal drive.   That will cost you a lot  and be tricky to take with you to your next computer. An external drive you can just plug into a new computer.
Some of the issues you are encountering are because you do not yet know how to properly manage and transfer iTunes files.  We can help you, or you can pay somebody a lot of money to do this for you on a regular basis.
Your GoFlex drive was used with Windows. Macs and Windows use different drive formats.  If you are now using Mac-only then you will need to reformat the drive (you will need to store all those files elsewhere while you are doing this).
Do not buy just one external drive.  When that drive fails (oh, and believe me, it will) your whole collection will be lost.  Some of it you may be able to download again from Apple, but Apple does not "store" your iTunes collection, it is up to you to ensure its safety.

  • I mistakenly clicked to purchase the HD version of Downton Abbey. I have lite internet access! I should have purchased the SD version instead. Can I cancel the purchase and go back to buy the SD version?

Is it possible to cancel the purchase - it says that there are 11 hours left just to download episode one!!!

When you purchase an HD movie or show, in most cases the SD copy can be downloaded from your purchases area in iTunes. On the main iTunes Store page, go to Purchases under the Quick Links and then select Movies or TV shows as appropraite. Click the "Not On This Computer" button. Uncheck the "Download HD when available" box and you should then see the SD copies of the movies/shows and be able to download them.
Note that with digital copies from a Blu-Ray or DVD, if it comes with an HD copy, you normally cannot get the SD copy as well and have to purchase it separately if you want it.
    Regards.

DNG files do not contain some metadata supplied by the camera, which can be used by the manufacturer's software. Thus, if you don't keep the original Raw photo, you will lose this information.
If your 1000% sure you're never going to use the manufacturer's software, then this isn't a problem. But who can be sure what software you will be using 10 years from now?

    Dear Experts,
I am facing an onother issue. The issue seems very simple but a m nt able to solve it.
    In service report ,
                      Net Income
                      540,000.00 INR
                     243,000.00 INR
    But in Sales Report,

                        3,718,710.31
                      16,057,490.72
In above service report the data should come like the Sales Report. I am able to change it only for my system, but i am not able to do it Globally.
In the report , Net Income --> Right click --> properties --> Display --> Display scaling factors for key figures..
In such a way I am getting the value like ,

    Hi Chandu,
If I change in the following way :
In the report , Net Income --> Right click --> properties --> Display --> Display scaling factors for key figures..
For that time I am able to see the report like
    Net Income
    INR
    540,000.00
    243,000.00
But If I start after putting transaction RRMX , then its showing like ,
    Net Income
    540,000.00 INR
    243,000.00 INR
This means its not getting stored . What should I do  ?
    Please put some light .
    Thanks,
    Sanjana
