Show date dependant of portal locale

Hi,
I want to display a date dependant of the locale of the user/portal/system settings. I assume the system settings are normally used. So if the user has an english system...use dd-mm-yyyy and if he has a dutch setting use mm-dd-yyyy for example.
I searched on the forum and found a usefull post but there was a link which was broken...see post :

I know that i can use the SimpleDateFormatter for that but i still have to enter a pattern....is it also possible to only supply a locale so it figures out the pattern itself?

Use
DateFormat.getDateInstance(int style, Locale aLocale)
where you get Locale from
WDResourceHandler.getCurrentSessionLocale()
Or use IWDResourceHandler.formatDate().

Y/t chart stops showing data depending on Maximum Display Range setting

The y/t graph will not display any data if I increase the Maximum Display Range setting to .8000s or higher. The data in the file is at 5000 Hz, is this part of the problem? I have played around with the Time Base and Measurement setting to no avail. The data is arbirary in length, but will not be longer than 3 seconds.

Here's the scoop...
You have 145 blocks of data in the file. Fewer than that are sent through the Relay00.
When you configure the Y/t Chart for more blocks than you have, then it waits for the rest of the blocks to come in. And they are not going to come in.
One workaround is to use the "Fast Recorder" mode of the Y/t Chart, but your block size is too small (50 vs 128 minimum).
I'd suggest switching to the Chart Recorder module - configure it like this... and then, because you want the trigger to reset the time to 0, use an Action module.
Configure the Action like this... it will reset the Chart to start at 0 each time the trigger opens the Relay.

Poor performance showing BW data in NW portal

Hi all,
we have a problem with showing data from BW in a NetWeaver Portal here.
There is a table with several different entries displayed on a portal page. When you click one entry some details for this are shown in an area below the table.
Now the problem is that every time you click one entry it lasts around 5 seconds until the details are shown which is much to long.
The data to be shown comes from a BW system.
I know that there are a lot of parameters you can check in BW to optimize performance. But maybe I have a common problem here and one of you can tell me which parameters should be check first.

Dear Torben,
The basic things which we need to check in our BW system is:
1) Increase the parallel processing during extraction
2) Selective loading.
3) Every job will be having a priority (A, B, C A being the highest and C being the lowest), choose this based on your scenario.
4) Check with the basis team for the sizing of your server
5) You can increase the number of background processes during data loads. This can be done by making dialog processes as Background processes.
For this you need basis inputs. (This is done in some profile settings by making the system behave differently during loads. (something like day mode/night mode))
6) There are some maintenance jobs that should run regularly in any SAP box to ensure proper functioning.
7) Use of start routines is preferred instead of update routines.

Date Format in Portal

Hi all,
Iam working in Portal 7.2 and I need to change the date format in portal. Is there any path in System Administration -> System Configuration any properties that i need to change the format.
Any help/advice/suggestions highly appreciated.

The Date Format depends on the Browser Language and also the Language set to user in User Administration of Portal.

It will give you info of what has to be changed.

Created a new role in the Integration Builder Design

- Enable usage of Integration Builder roles in Exchange Profile
Integration Builder u2013Integration Builder RepositoryParameter com.sap.aii.util.server.auth.activation to true
Assign users to the newly created Integration Builder roles
u2013Create dummy roles in Web AS ABAP, these roles are then available as groups in Web AS Java

I am working with XI Developers and Basis Team and we did updated all the Required Exchange profile parameters.
Per this Document - User Authorizations in Integration Builder Tools - Do we need to update the server.lockauth.activation in Exchange Profile. When We updated, It removed Edit Access from all XI Developers in PI
In both the Integration Repository and the Integration Directory, you can define more detailed authorizations that restrict access to design and configuration objects.
In both tools, you define such authorizations by choosing Tools ® User Roles from the menu bar. The authorization for this menu option is provided by role SAP_XI_ADMINISTRATOR_J2EE. Of course, this role should only be granted to a very restricted number of administrators. To activate these more detailed authorizations, you must set exchange profile parameter com.sap.aii.ib.server.lockauth.activation to true.
The access authorizations themselves can be defined at the object-type level only (possibly restricted by a selection path), where you can specify each access action either individually as Create, Modify, or Delete for each object type, or as an overall access granting all three access actions.

I was able to control display and maintain access from ABAP Roles, but completely failed to implement Integration Builder Security?
Are there any ways to check Whether Data Dependent authorization or J2EE Authorizations are activated?

Hello,
so to give you status of our issue.
We were able to export missing business component .
But we also exported some interfaces after that and we had some return code 8, due to objects still present in change list on quality system (seems after previous failed transports , the change list was not cleared completley...).
So now we have checked that no objects is present in the change list of quality system and we plan to export again our devs on quality system.
Hope after that no more return code 8 during imports and all devs transported correctly on quality system.
Also recommending to read that, which is pretty good.

Hi all,
I have developed a Module pool program. I want to download the data from Screen to local disk in Word format.
Example :-

the simplest and easiest answer that I can think of is :
1. Press Ctrl Y.
2. Select the area of the screen you want.
3. Press Ctrl C
4. Press Ctrl V on your word document.

WD ABAP iview for Adobe Forms showing data of previous PERNR

Hi Experts,
We have developed adobe forms using HCM P&F functionality. We copied standard delivered WD ABAP Iview "Termination" multiple times for the use in developed forms. The Portal IDs are attached to the employee's IT 0105-Subtype 0001 Syname.
We added the parameters in iview:
Application Parameter: GET_PERNR=X&PERNR_MEM_ID=ESS01&Process=ZXXX_XXX_FORM
Problem:
The Portal id is assigned to PERNR in IT 0105 - Subtype 0001 correctly and when we execute the Form Service link is clicked on Portal it shows the correct default data in Adobe form.
But if we remove the Portal id from 1 PERNR and assigned to another PERNR then Adobe Form still shows the data from previous PERNR.
We are unable to figure out the problem as the new Portal id is attached correctly and other WD Java iviews are showing correct data for existing PERNR but only Adobe forms are showing data from old PERNR assignment.
Please advise.

We have already done a number of action to clear the cache such as:
- Set the 2 properties of the iview
a. Cache Level ---> None
b. Cache Validity Period --->-1
- Cleared Portal Run Time Cache
- Clear DB cache
- UME cache (In case you are changing users frequently )- System Administration -> System Configuration -> UME Configuration -> Support -> Invalidate cluster wide cache
- Clear the browser cache --> Most imp - Browser settings -> tools -> Internet Optionsu2026 -> Temporary Internet Files -> Delete Files.
The actions are already done but the problem is still there.
I read some blog on SAP INDX tabel which records the Portal IDs when user logged in and Iview Properties "PERNR_MEM_ID=ESS01" reads this table . I am not sure that if this is the problem.
Please help.

Data dependent routing with WebLogic

How do you do data dependent routing with WebLogic Platform? Does it require additional
products or can it be done just using WebLogic Platform components?

WLI, or "WebLogic Integrator" may be what you are looking for, this is a
          full fledged message-flow/routing product built on top of JMS.
          If your needs are simple, you can roll-your-own data dependent routing
          using the WebLogic server built-ins of JMS, which provides reliable
          messaging, in combination with MDBs and/or Messaging Bridges - both of
          which allow the specification JMS selectors (filters). Furthermore,
          your MDB application can enqueue to a specific local destination (or a
          remote one, which is harder) based on the contents of the message it
          receives. Voila.
          For example, WorkQ (local or remote) --> MDB --> JobQ1 or JobQ2 or
          JobQ3. To simplify the MDB logic, JobQs could be on the same server,
          and therefore always available. (This is one of the advantages of
          having a JMS that can run in the same JVM as the app server, the other
          is very fast performance.)

Strange date format in german locale

According to /usr/share/i18n/locales/de_DE the date format for german locale is defined as follows "2000-06-24", which is not very common in German-speaking countries.Usually date is written as "24.06.2000". Some programs use this "wrong" format.
Is it save to edit the file mentioned above to achieve this format?

Which programs are showing the wrong date? They may be using their own date format and your locales are / were fine.

Date picker in portal.

Can anyone give any assistance on portal form naming conventions?
I am trying to implement a date pickerr in portal. I've got the
calendar to come up in a new window but can't get it to return
the value to the date field. I think i may be using the wrong

I had similar problems with a Javascript date picker. Portal
generates unique names for all form fields at runtime, and you
can't reference the form field names as entered in the form
designer (they're not the ones used).
Use the 'View | Source' function in the browser to see all INPUT
fields, and start counting until you find the field you want to
write to.
Using the Javascript document object model (DOM), - reference
the field as indexes into the document array (i.e. forms
[0].elements[14]).
Also note that Portal generates hidden fields in addition to the
ones you put on your form, - that's why you have to step through
the generated source in order to correctly index your form
fields.

Well, it depends if you are using UDOs or not. You should use the unique Code of a MasterData item to make sure you get data for the same room.

chkdsk /f, diskpart, rescan etc
but no result :( (i mean all processes failed. They could not detect the drive).
Please help me to get those data, pictures and project files.

PLD Report does not show data from Query

Hello,
SAP b1 9.0 PL08 on MSSQL 2008 and I get data on the query, but when the PLD prints, it shows nothing. Is there a way to filter the data that the PLD shows? Does PLD have its own SQL script it uses b/c its not showing data from the query.

Discoverer Plus 10gR2 not show data when the script of view have package

I have a problem with discoverer plus, I don't know is a problem or I'm doing something wrong.
I have a four views, the views containg in the SELECT stament and WHERE clause packages, example:

When I used the views on discoverer plus for construct the report, when execute the query not show data.
Appreciate it if you could help or tell me I'm doing wrong or does not support Discoverer Plus package execution.

This appears to be a grant issue. Apparently, you have granted execute with respect to this package to the EUL owner or the view would not have compiled. If you have not given EUL owner the grant option, I would recommend doing this as well.
This appears to be an Oracle APPS EUL (tell me if I am wrong). If this is the case, it goes without saying that APPS will need to be granted the execute privilege.
Also, by default, a stored package executes with the privileges of its owner. If your custom package was designed this way, are the objects which it references received the appropriate grant? I assume you tested this, but I am concerned that the line, a.prod = k_xps_tools.f_obt_prod, in the where clause could be resulting in the Null set being returned.

Not able to show data of prior three quarters,periods along with QTD , MTD

My requirement is when user selects a date then we have to show data in the report for three ago quarters data and QTD, three ago periods data and MTD.
eg: let the user selects a date in the 2010 Q 2(May-21-2010) then report should show
2010 Q 1, 2009 Q 3, 2009 Q 2, QTD(2010Q2 till 21st May), Feb-10, Mar-10, Apr-10, May-10 (MTD till 21st May).
I have created Ago metrics, Todate time series metrics for quarters and periods...
but Ago metrics are not working when Todate metrics are filtered with date prompt,
if I remove date filter then Todate metrics are not working (means not showing correct results).
Also I tried to create logical columns in BMM layer by using filter condition with enterprise qtr, enterprise periods.
but major problem is I am unable to go back to previous quarters and periods for the date user selected.
I am struggling for it a lot, Please assist me
