Y/t chart stops showing data depending on Maximum Display Range setting

The y/t graph will not display any data if I increase the Maximum Display Range setting to .8000s or higher.  The data in the file is at 5000 Hz, is this part of the problem?  I have played around with the Time Base and Measurement setting to no avail. The data is arbirary in length, but will not be longer than 3 seconds.

Go to Solution.

Here's the scoop...
You have 145 blocks of data in the file. Fewer than that are sent through the Relay00.
When you configure the Y/t Chart for more blocks than you have, then it waits for the rest of the blocks to come in. And they are not going to come in.
One workaround is to use the "Fast Recorder" mode of the Y/t Chart, but your block size is too small (50 vs 128 minimum).
I'd suggest switching to the Chart Recorder module - configure it like this... and then, because you want the trigger to reset the time to 0, use an Action module.
Configure the Action like this... it will reset the Chart to start at 0 each time the trigger opens the Relay.

  • Show date dependant of portal locale

    Hi,
I want to display a date dependant of the locale of the user/portal/system settings. I assume the system settings are normally used. So if the user has an english system...use dd-mm-yyyy and if he has a dutch setting use mm-dd-yyyy for example.
I searched on the forum and found a usefull post but there was a link which was broken...see post :
How to Change Date Format according to the Locale/Country of Portal User
I know that i can use the SimpleDateFormatter for that but i still have to enter a pattern....is it also possible to only supply a locale so it figures out the pattern itself?
    Much thanks,
    Hugo

    Hi Hugo,
    Use
    DateFormat.getDateInstance(int style, Locale aLocale)
    where you get Locale from
    WDResourceHandler.getCurrentSessionLocale()
    Or use IWDResourceHandler.formatDate().

  • Probe Shows Data, Chart Does Not

    Hello,
    I have a while loop
I am using a USB-6255 to output/input data and it works fine (see part A & B in picture)
When I added code (see part C) to input temperature data from a NI-6213 a strange thing happened.
The graphs stopped showing data where as all indicators and probes show the data just fine!
The code for the temperature works fine alone
Why is this happening and why only graphs/charts are influenced?
Is there a problem using many acquisition devices in the same loop?

    Here is another picture.
The text output is directly connected to the waveform graph
I get data via text but there is nothing displayed on the graph
    Why is this happening?
All the graphs in the vi do not work

  • Can I make a chart automatically source data from different parts of a table?

Hi! I have a chart that shows data entered into one row across several columns of a table. I want the chart to automatically display information from the next row down once data has been entered into all fields of the first row without the chart displaying two sets of data i.e. just the second row only. I would greatly appreciate any ideas as I've hit a total roadblock with this. Thanks!

    Hi gsnwosu,
I don't know of any way that Numbers can predict your next move! You must enter all your data and then select cells and create a chart. Here is a Table with a Header Row and two Rows of data:
You don't say what kind of chart you want. Here is a bar chart using data from Row 2. Select Row 2 by clicking once on the grey Row number (2) and choose a chart type (bar chart here):
Ignore the "Chart 3" label. I had three goes at this!
Click on the chart to select it:
then drag the Row (or Cells) selection down to Row 3 for a new chart (Oranges):

  • How do I get a chart to show the actual time with blocked data??

I am currently working on a program that reads the voltage off of a system with a pulsitile quality. The hardware is not national instruments (I know, not smart, but) so I am taking all info in blocks that cover 3 seconds so I can preform some averaging and frequency checks on it. I want to graph the information over a given period of time but can not get it to go under the proper time. Property Nodes have not worked correctly as I have followed the example in Fund>Charts>Realtime chart. Even with a max of 30 and a min of 0, the chart is ranging 30707 seconds and increasing exponentally. Per Scan I am taking 600 samples and running at 200Hz. Any ideas on how to fix this problem?

The easiest way to fix this, if you are using LV6, is to us
    e waveform
charts. This way you are wiring timestamp and dt to each waveform
chunk. The chart will automatically start showing date and time and
can be customized in the X Scale>>Formatting dialog.
If you are not using LV6 or do not want to use the waveform datatype,
you can open the formatting dialog and set the dt to match the timing
between adjacent points. You can also set the t0 to the initial point
time. The same points can also be set using a property node.

  • Showing Data in A Pie chart

As part of a school wide intiative i must show pre and post test data in my classroom. I must be able to show how many studetns were proficient on the pre test and well as on the post test. I have my data all ready to go with each kids test score. How do i create a pie chart that show the percentage of students with a 85% or high?

    k,
Select the Data in your Table.
    Insert a Pie Chart.
Set the label display format option for "%" or "Number", as you wish.
    That should do it.
Generally the best place to start with charting is to sketch one, as you imagine what you want it to look like, and most importantly, write in some labels describing the chart. That helps you to think about how to construct the chart. Unless you know what it should look like, it's difficult to know what data to chart and what options to use.

  • Show Data option in Charts

    Hi All,
I have a Vertical Bar Chart which was very fine. The problem is, I could not find any option to 'show data' on top of the corresponding bars.
could you please let me know how to do this.
    Thanks in advance,
    Anil

open the chart image in RTF, right click, format picture, got to ATL TEXT tab.
add the following text between the <graph> element.
    <MarkerText visible="true">
    <Y1ViewFormat>
    <ViewFormat numberType="NUMTYPE_GENERAL" numberTypeUsed="true"  />
    </Y1ViewFormat>
</MarkerText>that shud display the data on top of bar.

  • Show data in chart is overlaping

in one of my chart in webi i switch on the property of show data in chart.
i have three measures in the chart.
Now the problem is somtime these measures data is overlap on chart.
how to avoid this overlaping of chart data.
    Regards
    Malik

Chart type is Vartical and Line.
    i have three measures
    Sales Value
    Stock Value
    GP%
Even my Sales and Stock values are in thousands.
Sales and Stock is in bar and GP% represend by line.
GP% is creating problem. somtimes GP% exactly come to the place of Sales or stock value data value
so GP% and Sales or Stock value will overlap and we can not read anything what is exact value.
    i hope you can understand.

  • Chart not showing last data point

I have a chart that contains data points, 11/15/2000, 11/15/2001, etc.  Each data point is plotted in a line graph.  There are 11 data points, from 11/15/2000 to 11/15/2010.  For some reason, the last data point is plotted on the line graph but there is no label for it on the x-axis. Does anyone know why that may be?
    Thanks in advance,

  • Pie chart legend showing digit "1" when we set "ignore blank cells"property

    All,
We have pie chart in Xcelsius 2008 that shows the data with legend value and we have also set the ignore blank cells property to ignore the blank value from column. but once we set this property, it displays the digit "1" in the legend when there is no data.
we are expecting that nothing should be displayed in pie chart legend when there is no data for the pie chart.
    Thanks,
    Sourabh

    hi Sourabh,
    I could replicate your scenario.
Workaround is to create a duplicate of this chart. Go to properties of this new chart.
    Go to Appearance ->
    Uncheck
    - Legend
    - Mouse-over values
    - Data Labels
    for this chart.
Write a logic in excel using 'IF' to verify if your data is empty.
Use 'Dynamic Visibility' feature to display this chart only when your data is empty.
Display your original chart if your data is not empty.

  • Using waveform chart to collect data

    Hello,
I am a new user to labview, however I have been using it for a while now.
    I have a simple problem.
My model runs a drive cycle for 1400 secs.
I want to record data for a sample rate of 1 sec.
However, When I try to run the model and export it to excel it shows data for a sample rate of 0.1 seconds. How can I change that?
Also, what can be the maximum buffer size of the waveform chart?

    Hey govindgoal,
The max buffer size is pretty massive so don't worry about that. I would post your code or at least the part which is recording the data for people to help debug. It would seem however that you have some timing issues with your application.

  • Crystal Reports - Charts - Restricting the data points on the X-axis

    Hi,
Is there a way to restrict the number of points to display on the x-axis of a crystal chart keeping the number of data points the same.
For example, if the chart plots date vs value points and the data for the chart is from 1980 to 2009. This means the data points on the x-axis appear very close to each other.
I need a way to show the chart with all data from 1980 to 2009 but limited x-axis labels. Is there a way to configure the number of labels to show on the x-axis.
    Thanks!

    Thanks for the answer.
"Right click on one of the x axis labels and select Group (X) Axis Options...
On the Layout tab there is an option to Skip Group Labels, check this and enter in the number of labels you want to skip". Is there a way to do this from a .NET client or via a formula field in Crystal itself. The data points is going to be dynamic, hence the requirement is to dynamically configure the "number of labels" to be skipped.
    Thanks.

  • Datasocket 4.0 Network Client stops if Data are with Attirutes

    OS: W2000pro, VB50pro, DSServer40(370)
    Dear friends,
I have some misterious problem with DS40.
Configuration : I have one writer with DSServer 40 on one computer and several clients on the same and other computers.
    Problem:
The Clients Data on remote computers is stopped after some number of writes (???). The last value remains the same and status is : "Active connected" .
Along the normal value I use some Attributes:
    CWDataSocket1.Data.Value = Value
    Call CWDataSocket1.Data.SetAttribute("Quality", 192)
    Call CWDataSocket1.Data.SetAttribute("TimeStamp", Now)
    CWDataSocket1.Update
This doesn't happen if The writer and Client reside on the same computor !
    If I do this wit
hout attributes then everything is OK.
I think the problem is With Writer ?
The same happens in Labwindows CVI 5.01.
To test: I use OneWriter.exe and OneClient.exe on one computer. The Datasocket server is on other computer.
    Thank you in advance,
    Vojko

Have you noticed if there is any abnormal behavior in the connection between the two computers once the dataflow stops? Can you still ping the computer running the server? Does dataflow pick-up normally again if you just restart the client? It might be helpful to create an event handler for the status updated event in order to log the connection behavior so that you can tell us whether or not the status ever updates to anything other than connected while it is running.
If you try the following scenario:
Run the server on one computer, the writer and client on another, and a copy of the client on a third.
does the client on the second computer stop reading data when the client on the third does?
We have a couple of examples that show the use of attributes with Da
taSocket in CVI, and I would like for you to try them out with the scenarios that you presented to see if they exhibit the same behavior. You can locate them at the following two links:

  • How to set waveform chart to start data since beginning of run

You need to check the update mode of your chart.
Strip Chart—Shows running data continuously scrolling from left to right across the chart with old data on the left and new data on the right. A strip chart is similar to a paper tape strip chart recorder. Strip Chart is the default update mode.
Scope Chart—Shows one item of data, such as a pulse or wave, scrolling partway across the chart from left to right. For each new value, the chart plots the value to the right of the last value. When the plot reaches the right border of the plotting area, LabVIEW erases the plot and begins plotting again from the left border. The retracing display of a scope chart is similar to an oscilloscope.
Sweep Chart—Works similarly to a scope chart except it shows the old data on the right and the new data on the left separated by a vertical line. LabVIEW does not erase the plot in a sweep chart when the plot reaches the right border of the plotting area. A sweep chart is similar to an EKG display.
    From the help menu:
The waveform chart maintains a history of data, or buffer, from previous updates. Right-click the chart and select Chart History Length from the shortcut menu to configure the buffer.  The default chart history length for a waveform chart is 1,024 data points. The frequency at which you send data to the chart determines how often the chart redraws.
