How is this possible
Note that columns that are hidden may be showed later

I tried out for this:TableColumn col = jTable.getColumnModel().getColumn( colnum );
if( col != null )
col.setPreferredWidth( 0 );
col.setMaxWidth( 0 );
}But the column seems to have minimum width which you can't even change with col.setMinWidth( 0 );

I want to hide a column in JTable object, I already tried resize it to 0 but the effect is not good, I also cannot remove the column, since I need this column for other process.

I have tried that too, but the column isn't hide, the size is not actually come to 0,...That's because JTable has a default minimum width of 15.... if you want to hide the column, you must set the minwidth as well. For example:
myTable.getColumnModel().getColumn(column_to_hide).setMinWidth(0);

Is it possible to show/hide dynamically columns in RDLC form?

We need to show/hide dynamically columns in our Report RDLC form based by the user desire needs.
We need by the predefined checkboxes to set which columns should be seen and which should be hidden.
Is it possible in RDLC form to make it "show/hide columns dynamically" with any way?

Depends on what you mean dynamically, you still need to press the view report button.
What you can do is right click on the column you want to be able to hide/display in design mode,
click "Column visibilty", choose "show or hide based on an expression" then in your expression base your true or false on a boolean parameter for each column

Show/Hide a column in a Table region

I have search page which queries the data and displays the records in a table region. We need to have an option to show or hide a non-database column at the end of the each row in the table. If the checkbox is selected, the last column should appear and if checkbox is deselected it should get disappeared.
I have used a transient attribute in the VO and using that transient attribute trying to show the text field when the checkbox is selected. For ex, if the search returns 6 rows - if you select the checkbox of the first row , the last column "CTS" gets displayed without any issues but if you select the other rows (without checking the first row), the CTS column is not displayed.
The column is getting displayed only IF you select the checkbox of the first row and try it other rows. If you try to select the checkbox of other rows without selecting the 1st row, it doesnt show the CTS column.

I just referred to the Dev Guide and understand that we can use the identifier of the PPR event source row (Page 262) but still the issue persists.

I have a rawtext as the first column( its just a dummy column since the PPR event is not getting fired if the checkbox is the 1st control/column) and the 2nd column is the check box which has a PPR event. The PPR event fires whenever the check box is selected or deselected but surprising the text field gets editable only if the 1st row is clicked.
Changed code is as always - not sure why the table shows/hides the text column only if the 1st column is selected. Will appreciate any help.

How to hide the column in JTable

I want to hide a column . But I would be needing the data in that column. ( I have 4 columns )
I want to hide 4th column
I have done these steps

BOM: Show/Hide standard columns in CS03

Hi,
investigating the code I can see that in the transaction CS03, CS02 the table with data of standard position contains many columns that i would like to display them.
Currently, I can only see some columns, leaving other hidden. How I can show / hide the present columns in the table of positions?.

Inside the CS02 screen you can find table settings, will be there in top right. there you can make the field invisible.

Show Hide Few columns rows in a report

Hi All,
I had requirement to develop an application having a report and based on some condition we need to hide or show few rows on clicking. Please view this report [here |http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=33897:1]
For example if I give CUSTOMER_ID as a hiper link when I click on "1" first 5 rows only should be visible. That is I need to toggle between hidden and shown condition.
I tried using Java Script

And then using this script in query selecting the table and enclosing in <div > tag.
It works for a single column but few rows it doesn't work. Can someone please help me here. Thanks in advance.

Show/Hide Multiple Selected Columns

I am using SpryDOMUtils.js to show/hide a column. However, I
would like to have multiple buttons to select to show/hide
individual columns.
I tried adding two function calls:

you can hide multiple column by simply use :

I've implemented the show/hide report column techniques from your demo pages. Thanks for that, it's working well.
I am having a slight issue. I'm using theme12, and when I implement the technique there with the alternating row color template, the functionality works fine. But when I switch to standard report template I have some issues.
Debugging the code :

The table headers in the standard report template of that theme are missing the id attribute so changing this.

Showing of hide columns in JTable.

In my Application,The requirement is the user can remove some columns.After that the user can select the columns that he required from the list of all columns.
The user can select already removed column.How can I show the already removed columns?
I am removing columns like this.

Hi,
Save your column somewhere before remove it (with table.getColumnModel().getColumn(int) ). And when the user want to show the hidden column, add it to the table with table.getColumnModel().addColumn(TableColumn).

I want to hide the last column of my table, but still access its data. Inside the last column certain information is present, the cell tooltips.
In my extended JTable class my method getToolTipText looks like this:

How to show or Hide Generic Column in a regular report

I have created report based on "SQL query (pl/sql function body returning sql query). It returns columns based on some conditions. I have total 60 generic columns like (COL1,COL2....COL60) but it returns 18 or 20 columns based on my conditions, how can I hide the columns that I don't needed. My column heading is based on function return by ':' separated. My function returns number of columns also. Is there any we I can show only those columns which contains data. My report is exactly similar to the default "SQL query (pl/sql function body returning sql query). I didn't find any logic how they are doing this show and hide. I appreciate any ones help.

Hi there,
Somehow you need to find out how many columns your dynamic select will return (by what you said it seems that your procedure returns this information). Then store that number in a hidden page item, say Pnn_COUNT.
Then, for the 19th and 20th columns in the report add these conditions:
Column 19: :Pnn_COUNT >= 19
Column 20: :Pnn_COUNT >= 20

Can you help me if is possible to create a pivottable binding to a one ViewObject and in code show/hide or compose the layout of the pivottable ??
I search in google and OTN oracle and not find any code.
Only find the code of the samples that is very complex for me , the code of the samples create the PivotTableModel from one Array , and i want to binding from one ADB BC ViewObject.

The solution I presented for your use case an DOAG 2013 was to create a pivot table binding out of user defined attributes from the table. For the defined attributes a VO is dynamically created as well as the pivot binding. The pivot binding is then exchanged at runtime together with the activation of the dynamic VO needed to only get the data needed for the particularly pivot table.
Your solution using the CubicEditor is hard to implement due to the missing documentation. This was the reason I did not follow this approach, However it's not impossible (done it on a very small scale).
None of the solution are what I call simple. They are complicated, complex and in part not supported solution (exchanging the pivot table binding at runtime need to use internal classes, which is not supported).
I can't give you a working sample as it's too complex. I can make the slides available, however they are in German.

Hide a column in one view, but show in other

Hi all.
I need to hide a column on "Table" view, but column needs to show up on "Pivot table".
I know we can hide it on pivot ( exclude It ) and show on table, but I want to know if reverse is possible.
This is needed because I am doing a view selector for writeback. And I dont want to display all the columns on writeback table view. But it needs to be there on Pivot table.
Please let me know if it is possible.

Yes we can do that.
Check on the "Hide" in the column format tab of the column that you need to display in the table lay out.
Now dupliate the same view and in the pivot table column intially you will not see the column displayed.
Now in the properties check on "hidden" in the "format headings" and you wont see it still and now uncheck the"hidden" and you shoud be able to see the column displayed in the pivot view
In this way you will have the column hidden in the table view and displayed in the pivot table.

Hi VNC,
If you're crafty with javascript, you could probably write a script that would set the CSS property DISPLAY to NONE to hide the column in the table view you didn't want but leave it there in the view you did want.
