Showing a WebService multiple field in a table of WebDynpro

Hi!
I have a problem showing the multiple content response (MaintenanceRequest) of the service MaintenanceRequestERPSimpleByElementsQueryResponse_In in WebDynpro.
The service has this structure:
MaintenanceRequestERPSimpleByElementsResponse_sync
    * Sequence *MaintenanceRequest*
          o Element *ID*
                + schema type: *MaintenanceRequestIDContent*
                + Attributes: *schemeAgencyID*
          o Element *Description*
                + schema type: *SHORT_Description.Content*
                + Attributes: *languageCode*
As you see, the MaintenanceRequest is a sequence, perfect to represent in a table. But when I select this in the template of a table, I can't continue the wizard. Only when I select one of the elements ID or Description, It's posible continue.
I tried to select the element ID, for example, and later, when the table is created, change the dataSource of the table to the sequence MaintenanceRequest. When I run the application the result is that the table only show 1 element, the selected element.
Someone can help me???

if i ignorine the lr_dropdown_by_key->set_read_only( abap_true ) statement it is completely go out the drop down feature.
i.e if i put lr_dropdown_by_key->set_read_only( abap_false ) then this drop down field of all rows are gray out.but i need this gray out only in selected rows.
so finally i need this option lr_dropdown_by_key->set_read_only( abap_false ) for selected rows only.
how can i set this option for selected rows only.i can get selected rows at run time and i can get read only property 'X' or space
at runtime . but how can i set lr_dropdown_by_key->set_read_only( abap_false ) for particular selected row why because this drop down features we can set at whole table coloumns level only.
could any one suggest me .

You havent given any information on the mapping between Cycle and Asp. I presume there is a one to one mapping between them. Also it appears there is no "WHERE" clause to limit the number of cycles being retrieved. If that is the case then I presume you want to load all cycles in the system.
Thats just a clientSession.readAllObjects(Cycle.class). If you have indirection turned on the Asp should get loaded when you do a cycle.getAsp().
I presume that SQL you posted loads all the columns of CYCLE and ASP. If you are interested in a subset of CYCLE or ASP then you should do a ReportQuery or partial object read.

How to show asterisk for required fields in a table row?

Hi Folks,
For showing the asterisk (*) for required fields in a form, I used to give required="true" for the component and surround the component with a af:panelLabelAndMessage for which I set showRequired="true". How to do this for a component in a table row. For a component in a table, there is no label per se. The required=true flag in the component shows proper error message saying that it is required but there is no (*) for that component.

Table does not have any required attribute.But column has showRequired property .You can used this.If column has input text then also you put required true on this component.And set your required messages there .

Generate delta records by comparing multiple fields from two tables?

I have two tables with similar fields. Let's say Table 1 (T1) has fields Customer, A, B and C. Table 2 (T2) has fields Customer0002, A0002, B0002 and C0002. For each customer (each record) I want to check whether there is any difference in field A and A0002 or B and B0002 or C and C0002. If there is a difference between any of these pairs of fields then I will update that customer's record. Currently I have a piece of code
   DATA: ls_source TYPE y_source_fields,
        ls_target TYPE y_target_fields.
LOOP AT it_source INTO ls_source.
    if not ( ls_source-A = ls_source-A0002 ).
      MOVE-CORRESPONDING ls_source TO ls_target.

This checks for the difference between one pair - A and A0002. How can I make it check 3 pairs and update when any of them have differences?

I think you have more than 3 fields and the count of these fields are dynamic right?
Do you about the ASSIGN COMPONENT x OF STRUCTURE y TO <field_symbol>. usage?

Hi,
You need to use the method GET_SELECTED of IF_WD_CONTEXT_NODE to get the rows selected. Also ccheck for the paramters of that method, this retruns the element set.

Multiple values for multiple fields sharing common id

I'm new to Reporting Services and I need to create report based on a common child id that includes multiple values from multiple fields in several tables. I can combine all the values into one query for a list report; however, this causes the rows to duplicate
multiple times based on the differing fields having multiple values (i.e. report contains various child ids and multiple medication dates/names, multiple health diagnoses with onset dates, multiple health service dates/values, multiple immunization types and
service dates, etc). If I create a list report and try to use various tables, I run into problems with how the tables view the data due to the duplicating child id rows from multiple field values on that child id. If I hide duplicates for these different tables,
I can run into spacing issues from the duplicating rows and/or hiding data that shouldn't be hid.
I need the report to have the basic non-duplicating child info (id, name, basic health info) and then also have various sections that contain fields with numerous values (i.e. section for health issue name and onset dates, section for medication name and
prescription dates, section for health service name and service date, etc). I would want a page break after each child id and would want all the child ids to be viewed/exported for printing purposes at the same time (i.e. not choosing one child id at
a time to print or view the data). I have tried to create one main table on a list report with various subreports on the child id; however, this is hard for my machine to process (it takes forever) and I can only view/export one child id at a time when I use
child id as the report parameter.
Any help you can give this newbie would be greatly appreciate.

According to your description, you have some questions about your report design.
1. How to have non-duplicating child info?
In this scenario, since you don't want to hide the duplicate data, we suggest you filter the duplicated records on query level by using Distinct statement. If you want to do it on report level, you can group
records on chid id and use First() function on other fields.

2. How to have various sections that contain fields with numerous values?
We can also add these fileds into the child group of child and have them toggled by child id.
Reference: Add an Expand/Collapse Action to an Item (Report Builder and SSRS)
3. How to add a page break between each child?
Right click on the Row Group(child id)->Page Break->Select between each group instance.

4. How to select multiple child id when rendering report?

So is this doable by using only one update?
I manage to write a select statment using case clause which does those things perfectly only for value_pos_X fields. I wonder if i can use it in my

Make entries in a table in webdynpro abap

Hi all,
We have a requirement to make multiple entries in a Table in webdynpro ABAP.
We have created a table and inserted inputfield as cellEditor
but at runtime it is being displayed in readonly mode we cannot enter anything in that inputfield.
inputfield is binded with a context and table is not in readonly mode.
Please help in this regards

Hi Gaurav,
Make sure the context node bound to the table has cardinality 0..N.
When the app starts you probably need to read the table contents from the database or some other source and populate the contect node.
The table will allow the user to edit values only for the rows that have a corresponding element in the context node.
If the initial content is empty, i.e. no elements in the context node then the user will not be able to edit.
You will need to either initialize the context node with a bunch of elements if the number of entries is fixed and known beforehand, or provide a way for the user to create a new row.
You can do this by adding a toolbar to the table with a create button with a CREATE action and the following method:
method onactioncreate.
data:
lo_element type ref to if_wd_context_element,
lo_node type ref to if_wd_context_node.
lo_node = wd_context->get_child_node( name = 'your node name here' ).
lo_element = lo_node->create_element( ).
lo_node->bind_element( new_item = lo_element set_initial_elements = abap_false ).

"Field" isn't a standard database term. Some people say "field" when they mean "column", but I don't think that's what you mean ("How do you count the multiple columns of a column .."). Do you want to know how many times a column is used (as opposed to NULL), or the number of different values in a column? You really need to show what you want.

Creating external table - from a file with multiple field separators

I need to create an external table from a flat file containing multiple field separators (",", ";" and "|").
Is there any way to specifiy this in the CREATE TABLE (external) statement?

We receive the file from a vendor every week. I am trying to set up a process for some non-technical users, and I want to keep this process transparent to them and not require them to load the data into Oracle.

There are many ways of doing this. However its worth noting that RDBMS database are not messaging, event driven systems and are not best suited to do what you want to do. You should only consider doing this if you have a low rate of changes.
You can
- Poll the database table and look for changes.
- Add a trigger to the table to record the keys which have changed. The have a query to find just the key which have changed.
- When a field changes, also send a broadcast/topic message.
- Add a trigger which sends a JMS message when a change occurs. (This is entirely DB/JMS specific, you need to find if this is possible)
Again, databases are not ideally suited to event driven, real time updates. There is no simple, clean solution.

Multiple record update in TABLE Control.

Also depending on some condition i want to change the status of one reocrd and not the column as a display field and won't be editable. I have tried with loop at screen and modify screen, but it is showing the whole column as display only.

Adding a Button for a field in a table

Hi there,
I don't know if it is possible, but I can't find any information of this. How can I make a field in a table searchable? That means I want to include a button besides this field in the table, so that user can click on the button to search for, eg to search for Material Number, using this button.

No that is wrong. What I want to do is as follows:
In a table, there is a button in the field where user can click on to activate the OVS. When they click this button, OVS will open up a screen with the search citerias and the results in the table in the OVS (This is auto generated window and I can't modify directly onto the window).
What is happening now is when I click on the button to activate the OVS, what came out is just the fields.. the labels are all gone.
I tried to create Simple Type but it seems I do not know the correct way to use it so that the fields for OVS can be displayed with the labels. I tried many ways but the labels just don't show up.
You proposed that I do a Simple Type Binding but the problem is the window is automated, I can do binding onto the generated window.
What else can I try? I read all the tutorials and wiki, it seems that all the labels are generated so beautifully and automatically.. but mine is empty..!!
From what I analysed, in the OVS windows, the number of citeria fields generated are based on the number of fields input for the model and the number of result column is based on the number of fields in the model output. But there is just no Label.
PS: My data is bound to the backend using Adaptive Webservices, therefore I am using the model to search for the data.
Any help or advise is greatly appreciated!

Link many fields to one table

Using CR v14.
How do I link multiple fields to the same table?
table A:
field 1 links to table B
field 2 links to table B
field 3 links to table B
My attempt with the 'link tab' under the 'Database Expert' allows me to set the links but the report only shows records where field 1,2,3 are all the same.

Hi Eric,
Moved your post to the Report Design forum.
What you are doing is correct but not enough info on how the tables relate to each other. When dragging field to field in the Linking Wizard the default is a Left Outer Join so you will get multiple rows with the same numbers.
If the linking is correct try this:
Check on the Suppress if Duplicate and see if that's what you need. But I suspect you need Links or a Command Object to get the data you really want.
Need more info and details about the tables you are trying to link.
