Showing an object name in a webtemplates using a drop down box

Hi Experts,
i have created a Web-Template which is showing a chart and a tabelle.
I would like to print the webtemplates as a PDf version using differents views by using drop down Box gewählt .
It it working.
Problem:
How can i show the name of the object selected in the drop down box als Titel?
I would to display the name of the selected object als Titel.
Thank you for your inputs.
Cheers

Your treating the object like it has a literal value.
E.g. you can treat a varchar2 as a literal value as it contains exactly that:
declare
s varchar2(20) := 'Hello World';
cmd varchar2(100);
begin
cmd := 'DBMS_OUTPUT.put_line('''||s||''');';
DBMS_OUTPUT.put_line( cmd );
end;
Result: DBMS_OUTPUT.put_line('Hello World');
Now what exactly do you expect the compiler to put as a literal value when you change variable s in this sample code to a complex type that does not contain just a single literal value?
To fix your code, try the following approach:
declare
cmd varchar2(200);
begin
cmd :=
'declare
s TString;
begin
s := new TString( ''str1'', ''str2'' ):
TestPackage.Process1( s );
end;';
DBMS_OUTPUT.put_line( s );
end;
Result:    declare
          s  TString;
     begin
          s := new TString( 'str1', 'str2' ):
          TestPackage.Process1( s );
     end;As for using dynamic SQL properly, consider using bind variables (which also support Oracle classes/advance data types). The following code illustrates:
SQL> create or replace type TString is table of varchar2(4000);
2 /
Type created.
SQL>
SQL> create or replace procedure ShowString( s TString ) is
2 begin
3 for i in 1..s.Count
4 loop
5 DBMS_OUTPUT.put_line( s(i) );
6 end loop;
7 end;
8 /
Procedure created.
SQL> exec ShowString( TString('1','2') )
1
2
PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
SQL> declare
2 cmd varchar2(200);
3 s TString;
4 begin
5 s := new TString( 'Tom', 'Dick', 'Harry' );
6 cmd := 'begin ShowString( :0 ); end;';
7 execute immediate cmd using s;
8 end;
9 /
Tom
Dick
Harry
PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.

  • How do I use a drop-down box to turn on a radio button?

    I have a dynamic form with a drop-down box containing selections 1, 2, 3, and 4; later in the form I have a radio button group with two radio buttons labeled "pass" and "fail".
    I would like to have drop-down selections 1 and 2 automatically select "fail" and 3 and 4 automatically select "pass" in the radio button group, with the option of the user changing this with a warning message.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thx

    Hi,
    you can use this JavaScript in the change event of your drop down list.
    var sel = xfa.event.newText;
    RadioButtonGroup.rawValue = (sel === "1" || sel === "2") ? 1 : 2;

  • Email submit button using drop down boxes, cc field and

    I have a form that I would like to have the employees use a drop down box that already exists on the form with names and email addresses and use those names in the to field of an email submit button.  Also, I do have a static cc: address in teh cc field and for the subject of the email to use  an existing field such as the name field as the subject of the email and attach the form to it.

    I tried that but it  does not seem to be working.  I am a JavaScript Novice.  I am trying  to use the mailto field based on email addresses in a dropdown box, a static cc field like cc: [email protected] and for the subject to be based on the company name field on the form.  But before all of that I want to make sure all the required fields are filled out.  help I have been working on this for over a year.  It may seem simple but it's not working.

  • Drop Down Box Choose A Name and Have only the first name show up

    I am creating a form for health care.
    I have a drop down box with names of Physicians... their full names so they can be easily identified. And then subsequent fields that will be populated based off of the choice. However What I need is that after the full name from the drop down list is selected than only the Dr's First name shows up in the box to be distributed through out the file. All the rest of the information is already in using this Java:
    switch(this.rawValue){
        case "MD":
            form1.Page1.Physician1LastName.rawValue = " Acccc";
            form1.Page1.Physician1Number.rawValue = "1111111111";
            form1.Page1.Physician1Fax.rawValue = "2222222222";
            form1.Page1.ClientEmail.rawValue = "[email protected]";
            form1.Page1.Physician1Address.rawValue = "xyz suite ";
            form1.Page1.Physician1City.rawValue = "XYY CIth";
            form1.Page1.Physician1State.rawValue = "XZ";
            form1.Page1.Physician1Zip.rawValue = "11111";
            form1.Page1.Physician1NPI.rawValue = "111111111";
            form1.Page1.Physician1License.rawValue = "ABBB111111";
            form1.Page1.Physician1UPIN.rawValue = "A11111";
            form1.Page1.Physician1Specialization.rawValue = "Internist";
            break;
    And is working beautifully thanks for previous help everyone.
    Here is the example from the Drop Down list choices:
         Dr. Aaaaa Abb Accccc
         Dr. Baaaa Bbb Bccccc
    I would like to choose :
         Dr. Aaaaa A Aaaaa
    and upon chosing it have it show only the first name in that field so it can be processed correctly through out the rest of the fields.
    ie:    Aaaaa   (Only nothing else)
    I am a horrible at this stuff I just surf around until I find something that works and copy and paste and play until it works
    So Please be specific:
    Java vs FOrm: Client: Choice   and code ....
    Thanks SO much ....

    Take a look at the attached. The script assumes the name is a three-part string such as Dr. Frank Burns. You can modify it according to your needs.
    // form1.page1.dd::exit - (JavaScript, client)
    if (this.rawValue != null) {
      var doc = this.rawValue;
      var i = doc.indexOf(" ");
      doc = doc.substring(i+1,doc.length);
      this.rawValue = doc.substring(0,doc.indexOf(" "));

  • When I open the "Save Page As" window, the drop-down box for the file name shows files that were saved long ago. This is not cleared by any "clear history" function that I can find. How do I clear this?

    # Question
    When I open the "Save Page As" window, the drop-down box for the file name shows files that were saved long ago. This is not cleared by any "clear history" function that I can find. How do I clear this?

    Hello.
    I believe this is a Windows related issue, since it's the windows Save File manager we're talking about here (right?). You should contact Microsoft for help on that one, I believe. You'd expect to be able to delete the entries by simply tapping ''Delete'' on your keyboard when they are focused (that's how it goes for deleting specific form autocomplete entries in Firefox), but I haven't tried that.
    I'm sorry I can't be of more help.

  • Hi, im using ff 8.1, and when i use drop down boxes the options show but it doesnt change when i select an option.

    So im using this website, and im not sure if this problem occurs with other website because i havent come across any, but i select the drop down box menu, the options appear, i select an option, but it doesnt actually use my option it just goes back to default. This website is like a form filling interface so i need to save it at the end, but firefox doesnt allow me to do that either.
    It works on google chrome fine so i doubt its a problem with the website. I have only just installed firefox 8.1 and havent changed any settings or applied any addons.

    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
    *Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
    *https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode
    In Firefox 4 and later Safe mode disables extensions and disables hardware acceleration.
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode
    Try to disable hardware acceleration.
    *Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
    If disabling hardware acceleration works then check if there is an update available for your graphics display driver.

  • How do I use Javascript to populate a text field based on a selection from a drop down box?

    Greetings,
    I have virtually no experience with JavaScript and I am trying to figure out how to add some basic automation features to an Adobe form.  I have a drop down box called "Hospital_Name" that will contain approximately 7 possible selections.  When the user makes a selection, I would like to have the text field (called "Hospital_Address") below the drop down box populate with the corresponding address for the selection.  I have the "Hospital_Address" text field configured for multiple lines and would like the address to have a line break between the street address and the city/state/zip.
    For example, if the user selected "Hospital 1", the text field would display:
    123 Main St
    Anytown, CA 12345
    Any help or examples you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

    You have the element names within the object within brackets.
    Make sure your brackets are properly placed and matched.
    // Place all pre-population data into a single data structure
    var Location = {
    "--Hospital--":{ line1: " ", line2: " " },
    "Bellevue Medical Center":{ line1: "2500 BMC Drive", line2: "Bellevue, NE 68123" },
    "CHI Bergan Mercy":{ line1: "7500 Mercy Road", line2: "Omaha, NE 68124" },
    "CHI Immanuel":{ line1: "6901 N. 72nd Street", line2: "Omaha, NE 68122" },

        this.getField("AddLine1").value = Location[Hospital_Name].line1;
        this.getField("AddLine2").value = Location[Hospital_Name].line2;
    This is not a beginners task but requires a fair amount of knowledge about the structure of objects, defining strings, and structure of arrays.
    Are you sure you have all the field names correctly spelled and capitalized?
    Do you get any error in the JavaScript console?
    Just trying the line that defines the "Location", I get the following error:
    SyntaxError: invalid property id
    1:Console:Exec
    undefined
    All the form field in a PDF are processed by using JavaScript and any error in any script will stop JavaScript processing.
    It might help to have a link to the problem form.
    Make sure your brackets are properly placed and matched.

  • Poor performance when using drop down box on web report

    We are using dropdown box functionality in web reporting to allow easy selection of characteristics values. We have 4 dropdown boxes

    We need to use booked_values = 'Q' to show only relevant values for selection in the dropdown. However the issue is takes a long time for results to appear

    Do you have any suggestions on how to improve performance on drop down?
    Thanks, Jay

    Dear Jayant Dixit,
    1) If the values in the drop down box....are NOT dependent on user selection...then webserver can send them along with the first page....and cache them on client m/c...for multiple client/server dialogs....
    2) If the values are changing based on what the user selected from a previous input......then...you need to do some research on how SAP Webserver could optimize the "network traffic"......For example: a) Apache webserver has a module that compresses the content on the webserver side and then send to the client...b)A Client browser plugin decompresses the received packet and displays appropriately....
    3) We may need to research the latest SAP webserver capabilities....
    Good luck, BB

  • How do I use one drop down list to refresh the list in another drop down?

    I am using a drop down list full of years (i.e. 2008, 2009..etc). When I make my selection from this drop down list (say for instance I select 2009) I want it to update the available data in the second drop down list. I have the query statement set up within the JSP page but it needs to be a dynamic SQL statement based off the value I selected in the first drop down.
    String sql = "SELECT GameId, GameDescription FROM Games WHERE Year = " + year;
    The variable "year" is the value I need to figure out how to assign. Now this variable is a Java variable (attribute) and Im unsure how to get the value from the previous drop down and assign it to that. Basically I need the JavaScript value from the first drop down assigned to the Java attribute "year".
    Anyone able to help me with this???
    Thanks,

    Here are my two drop down lists. As you can see I build the second list dynamically based off the value of the year. I want to be able to assign my year to the value I select in this first drop down. How do I do that?? I only want to show games for the year I select. I currently have the year hardcoded to "2009" as you see below. How can i change that to be assigned to the JavaScript value i extract from the first select box?

  • How do I use a drop-down list to populate a list box

    I'm using livecycle 8:
    I basically have a drop down list with many selections available. I want the function to be when they select from the drop-down the choice they made appears in a list box next to the drop-down box. • Third party Certificate not showing up in SQL configuration manager drop down box

    Hi,
    I have an SQL instance that needs to use a third party SSL certificate for all communications to that SQL instance. I have installed my third party certificate via MMC and it is showing under the Personal Folder.
    However, when i go into the SQL configuration manager and right click the instance name > Properties > Certificates, it is not showing in the drop down box.
    I am currently using MS SQL Server 2008 R2, which is installed on Windows Server 2012.

    Hi,
    If the certificate cannot be used for SQL Server and hence will not be visible in SQL Configuration manager. Check the validity of the installed certificate. It may not has the correct DNS name.
    I suggest you request a new third party certificate from the vendor with the correct DNS name. Install it on SQL Server environment, then you should see certificate form the configuration manager dropdown box.
    Thanks.

  • Show/hide fields when selecting an option from a drop-down menu.

    Hello Gurus!
    I have a question about creating a Java Script withing Acrobat pro.  This is what i would like to do: I created a drop-down menu with several selection entries.  Upon the customer making one of the selection entries, i would like for the correct fields that i created to become visible and all other fields to hide.  Is this even possible to do?  The reasoning behind this is because we have a form that customers have to generate in order to request access to certain financial accounts; we have over 20 different types of accounts and for each instance the customer has to fill out the same form.  By creating a drop down menu, i can use the same form by just changing the drop-down selection and clicking on the designated fields for that selection.  At this time i have over 20 different forms that poing to 20 different account requests and i would hate to send the form 20 different times to one person.  The reason i can not add all fields desired for all accounts is due to the fact that the form would be filled with hundreds of checkmarks and instructions thus making the process too tideous for the customer.  Hope you guys can help out.
    ~Vader

    The good news is, it can be done (and it has been done).
    There are a few things to be aware of, however.
    The most important is that the form must be planned well, which means that you must think carefully about your logic and even more so about your field naming (hierarchical field names are your friend). One fundamental issue, you have to be aware of, is that this form no longer will be a "standard form". The consequence of this is that you may have to be aware that you might get into trouble when you have to prove that your user filled out that particular standard form (talk to your compliance and forms management people about that).
    You also may have to decide whether the form should be usable in Reader. And, if so, how much you want to spend on the right to do so. You will see below why…
    There are actually two approaches for dynamically showing/hiding parts of a form. If your form can be separated between a fixed first page (where you also have the account type selection), and a variable part (depending on the selection), you could use Templates, which you spawn according to the selection, and delete pages when you change the selection. This approach is very easy to implement, but requires Reader Extensions Server to allow it to work in Reader; Acrobat Pro's extended rights are not sufficient for that.
    The other approach is showing/hiding fields. If you did your homework well, it would be very easy to first hide all subsequent fields, and then show the ones you need in two lines of code. This approach does not require extended rights for Reader at all, as long as your forms will always have the same number of pages, for each of your account types. This approach also works for the cases where the differences between the individual forms are very small. It does also work for showing/hiding bigger chunks of the form. In that case, you might create the "background" separately, and then put it as an icon into a button field which you will show/hide together with the carefully placed on top of it active fill-out fields.
    There is a third possibility, which Adobe Propaganda probably would suggest, and that woudl be subforms in LiveCycle Designer. The consequence is, however, that you won't have PDF forms, but proprietary XFA forms instead. And you may have more developing and maintenance work than with the other approaches.
    Back to your original question: you could use a Keystroke script evaluating event.changeEx of the combo box field. Depending on that, you would run your action to set up the according form part. The other way to do it would be evaluating event.value in the onBlur event. The latter would have the advantage that the selection has been made, and you get a bit more time to set up the form (this may in fact be an issue, particularly with Acrobat 9 and 10, which may take their time to show/hide fields).
    Another possibility instead of a drop down (combo box field) would be a popup, where you would have a button to press, and the list of selections pops up. This second method uses app.popUpMenuEx().
    Hope this can help.

  • Creating cascading drop down boxes in SharePoint 2010 using one list

    We have a support request form tied to a list that end users input data into which when submitted sends out an email.
    Is it possible to create a drop down box on the form that limits the choices in the "subcategory" column, based on what is chosen in the "category" column.
    For instance in the category column we have SharePoint, Oracle, and Web Tools as choices.
    In the subcategory column we have items related to each category. We only want items that are related to the selected choice to appear in the subcategory drop down box.
    I see examples in InfoPath using "Multiple Lists" (one list for city, one for state, etc), but nothing using the same list.  I would rather not use multiple lists if possible.
    Anyone have any ideas?  Thanks.

    Hi,
    According to your post, you want to create a cascading drop-down list box using one list.
    To achieve what you want, we can:
    Create two fields(category and subcategory) in drop-down list box type in the form in InfoPath.
    Add the list which contains the values of the category and subcategory columns to the form as an external data.
    Right click the category field, click Drop-Down List Box Properties, and choose Get choices from an external data source.
    Choose the list added in step2 in Data source, click XPath behind Entries, click the category column in the list, select Show only entries with unique display names.
    Right click the subcategory field, click Drop-Down List Box Properties, and choose Get choices from an external data source.
    Choose the list added in step2 in Data source, click XPath behind Entries, click the subcategory column in the list, then click Filter Data.
    Click Add, select the category column in the list in the first box, select is equal to in the second box, choose select  a field or group in the third box, then choose Main in the Fields and select the category field in the form.
    Click OK.
    Best regards.
    Thanks

    I am trying to get space on an external hard drive which has some old time machine back up files that I do not need but can not eliminate, even by going into the time machine, clicking on the backup file to be eliminated and using the drop down menu with the gear box symbol to eliminate

    I cannot find this 300GB "Backup" in the Finder, only in the Storage info when I check "About This Mac".
    You are probably using Time Machine to backup your MacBook Pro, right? Then the additional 300 GB could be local Time Machine snapshots.  Time Machine will write the hourly backups to the free space on your hard disk, if the backup drive is temporarily not connected. You do not see these local backups in the Finder, and MacOS will delete them, when you make a regular backup to Time Machine, or when you need the space for other data.
    See Pondini's page for more explanation:   What are Local Snapshots?   http://pondini.org/TM/FAQ.html
    I have restarted my computer, but the information remains the same. How do I reclaim the use of the 300GB? Why is it showing up as "Backups" when it used to indicate "Photos"? Are my photos safe on the external drive?
    You have tested the library on the external drive, and so your photos are save there.
    The local TimeMachine snapshot probably now contains a backup of the moved library.  Try, if connecting your Time Machine drive will reduce the size of your local Time Machine snapshots.
