Showing average data summarized 'Date type' (Sunday, Monday, etc.) wise

Greetings Everyone,
I'm trying to create a chart that shows data averages summarized date type wise.
Background and the specific requirement is as follows:
The application from which I fetch data is a visitor management system. User is prompted to select a date range and I want to show how many visitors have visited the office, in a day type (Sunday, Monday, etc.) breakdown.
For instance, if the date range includes four Mondays and the total number of visitors that have visited on Mondays for this period is 120, then the average for Monday would be 30. Likewise, I want to summarize data for all the seven days of a week.
I have tried different cross-tab options but haven't succeeded yet,

hi Lakshan,
the answer depends on whether or not your data is missing any dates...i.e. if you've got a Monday that doesn't actually show up in your report (but is still within the date range), do you still count that? if so, that makes things a bit more difficult. if this is the case then let us know.
if your data has no gaps, then here's what you can do:
1) create a new formula called DaysOfWeek with syntax like
weekdayname(dayofweek({your date field}))
2) Insert a Chart and for the On Change Of use the DaysOfWeek formula
3) click on the formula in the On Change Of and press the Order button...use a Specified Order and add all of the week day names in by the order that you want
4) add your visitors field to the Show Value and Set the Summary Operation to Average

When I try to create a Formula with CurYrAmt I need to use $275 and not $250.
I tried the SUMCT and SUMCT functions, but it does not use the summarized data $275 as it is a "display data" function. It uses 250 instead.
Does anyone have any ideas to force BEX to use the Summed data 275 in the calculation?

The problem is not with the SUM. I am able to get the sum value 275.
The problem is when I use the result from the formula "CurYrAmt@PrvYrPrice" in another calculation. In that case the SUM value 275 is not used; only the value 250 is used.

For Productivity Increase (Prdivity) = CurYrAmt - CurYrAmt@PrvYrPrice
What is happening: Total = 315 - 208.25   = $106.75
What I want in the calculation = 315 - 275 = $40
For the Productivity Amount, I can still use the Summation property.
BUT
When I try to create a Formula for measuring Productivity +Percent %+ :
*Formula =>   'Prdtivity' %A 'CurYrAmt@PrvYrPrice'*
What is happening:   106.75 / 208.75    = 50.77%
What I want:              40 / 275             = 14.5%

Summarizing Data Across Multiple Dates

Here is my issues.
I have two dimensions.
Date and Time. Date is a standard date dimension. Time is a time dimension who's leaf level is at the second.
I need the ability to obtain a value like maximum from my fact table for a given set of prices. I want to summarize this value at the day level. The issue is that the value can span across 2 dates.
Example. A Sunday starts at 4PM and ends Monday at 9AM. I need to obtain the maximum value across these specific times from both Monday and Sunday (at the specified times).
Effectively, I need MAX(MONDAY at time 12:00AM - 9AM, SUNDAY at time 4PM - 11:59:59PM) to be displayed in the data for Date Monday.
Suggestions on to approaches for this?

Just a pity there was no 'aggregator' type activity which would negate the need to go down the route of writing out to SQL or create master/child runbooks which just seem a bit of overkill or adding complexity esp when using very simple runbooks - like I
say maybe one for the IP developers out there...
To illustrate my specific eample (one of many simple runbooks requires a summary email sent out to show output) as below:
So the first Powershell gets VDI desktop names (3 of them) then 2nd Powershell uses these machine names as published data to get associated registration state. From there I'd ideally like to just generate out the single summary email showing the 3
machines/reg states instead of 3 separate emails. I added the append line and get line activities to expose the output to check it was OK and then tried flattening various activities to try and only generate the single email (I removed the junction activity
infront of sendmail as it didn't work)
So I'll try the options suggested for spliiting runbooks and/or writing to SQL and see how that goes..

No stock showing in Inventory on date stock report

I have created a Stock on date query at plant material level using standard cube 0IC_C03
to get stock quantity on posting date i have restricted 0TOTALSTCK
by 0CALDAY variable .
Correct me if any thing wrong to get on date stock.
When i m executing that report for date 20.07.2009 , it shows 0 qty for a given Plant(1001) and a given material(ABC)
where MB5B report in R/3 with same date show sum stock qty.
again i executed the report with 17.07.2009 , on which the material(ABC) was lastly transacted for that given plant(1001)
for this date i m able to match the qty with MB5B.
Then i check sum other stock report which is at 0CALMONTH level wen executed with 07.2009 shows correct qty.
Now my question is y it is showing 0 qty wen the stock is there in it ? is query definition not proper to get stock on date ?

in rows, calday, plant, materials
in column 0TOTALSTCK.
for 2 days data will look like this.

stock as on 19 in MB5B, after recipts and issue is 256 KG.
stock as on 20 th in MB5B, after recipts and issue is 280 KG.
based on issues and recipts, data will be added to total stock.
yes, stock will be last date posting date. as on today we can validate data till yesterday.
one more thing for plant whose values are not matching, did to drill down stock type and stock category and check data.
use RWBE t-code also for validation.

I have used SAP doc mgmt for years. We copied a client and now when I configure a Class to my DMS DIR and go to CV01n Additional Data NONE of the characteristic entry boxes show up. Additional Data is blank.

It appears there must be some high level setting missing in the client. I have checked all authorizations and cannot find a difference between this client and all of the other clients we have. Only this one client does not show the class characteristics in the Additional Data tab.
Any ideas of why this standard function is not working). It does not matter which DIR I config the 017 class to, nothing shows on Additional Data.

The issue is resolved. We are working in a sandbox with Class configuration on a DMS issue related to standard class 017. There are no standard settings in SPRO - Cross-Application Components | Maintain Object Types and Class Types | for the object type DRAW that will allow "auto-populating" characteristic values as we do with VC class 300.
For whatever reason DRAW and class 017 are not configured by SAP in the same manner as class 300 for example.
We made a config entry for DRAW Class 017 VBAP. Let's just say the system did not like that.
We are exploring other options.

PO date / Purchase order type

Hello,
When creating a standard order in SAP with VA01, we can fill in the fields "PO date" (the date when the customer send the PO) and "Purchase Order Type" (the source of the PO - by Email, by phone, by fax)...The report VA05 doesn't show those fields...Is it an other report showing these data that I can use ?

How to show 2 groups of data in 1 XY plot at different time?

Hi, all:
I have a question and hope someone can help me figure out the solution or whether or not no solution for the question. I need to collect 2 groups of data [x(n),y(n)] and [x(n),z(n)]. I will collect x-y first then x-z. I need to collect and show the x-y data first, when I am satisfied, then collect and show the x-z data. It should be in the same plot. I got an error message so far and cold not figure out the solution. I attached my code and hope someone can help me. The code is in version 8.0 and I am sure there is no virus. Thank you a lot in advance.

When you look the context help of the xy-graph in the diagram, you see the supported data types. An array of xy-clusters is accepted. You may look in the attached code how you could built the array of the two plots.
Check the example VIs included in LabVIEW (in the help menu). There are several examples on charts and graphs.

Issue loading Meta Data for IDoc Type WPUKSR01 in XI Integration Repository

Hi,
I want to load the Meta Data for IDoc Type WPUKSR01 in XI Integration Repository out of BI. Unfortunately, this IDoc is not available in the IDoc List. I checked in BI and the IDoc Type is available in WE60 and WE30. Also, I can load the Meta Data for the Idoc in XI ABAP (IDX2).
Can someone tell me why the IDoc doesn't show up in XI Integration Repository Import Object List?

The Idoc is released since Release 30A. I also tried to load the IDoc Meta Data from ERP with the same result: it does not show up in the list.

How to show timestamp along with date in LOV dropdown

Hi,
We have a requirement to show timestamp along with date as a display column in a LOV drop down. Type of the date column in VVO is set to timestamp. But still it is showing only date in the UI.
But it is showing timestamp when we run it through AM. Is there any thing in to do in addition to display it in UI? Or it is not feasible? Please suggest me on this issue.

The date format displayed in UI depends on applcore preference set for current user, try changing date format set for current user to include time along with date.

I think this SAP standardized. Maybe you need to create custom FM.
You can copy SAP FM DATE_GET_WEEK. in the FORM FIRSTWEEK, I see below case,

Using average days between dates to predict a launch date on another produc

I hope someone might be able to help me out here.
I am at the limit of my Webi expertise! (which is not saying a lot)
We have a universe containing date information relating to the launch of products thus:
Product Name
Supplier Name
Category
Sample Availability Date
Testing Start Date
Launch Go Date
It is a simple matter to create a variable u2018Project Timeu2019 as DaysBetween(Testing Start Date;Launch Go Date)
And using the Average function we can create Average Project Length - Also with the Report, and Section keywords we can show the global average, and averages by Supplier and Category.
Here is my problem.
We also have Products in the universe that have yet to have their projects kicked off, so Testing Start Date and Launch Go Date for those products are null data. I want to use the Sample Availability Date and the Average Project Length variable to predict the probable Launch Go date, however, in the report this element shows up as an empty cell.
Does anyone have an idea how I might achieve this?

OK...
Lets imagine there are records for 100 devices in the universe. 75 of them have valid project start dates and launch dates. 25 of them have neither because those projects are yet to start. However they do have a sample availability date.
Using the DaysBetween function I can create a variable called project length from the start and launch dates. I can then use the Average function to get the average project length (for the devices that actually have a project length)
Somehow I want to add this average project length to the sample availability date on the records that have yet to have a start date.
As projects end they will add to the average, and we can see how close they were to the predicted launch. As new records are added they will automatically have a predicted date.
Right now I have the average project length, If I create a table filtering on completed projects (Projects with a non-null launch date) and I add a column showing average project length, because I've used the In Report keyword on the average, it shows the average value in this table.
If I have a stand-alone cell with the average project length it shows the right value
But if I have a table showing the devices yet to start (filtering on Null start date) If I add the average project length into that table it shows as blank (I.e. no value at all)

at design time, the datatable uses generic fields to
show if data type is numeric, text, date, etc...
If this is at runtime,
- what driver are you using?
- how did you bind the data to the table?
- what is the resulting code in the Java backing file?

Selecting dates from friday till sunday???

Am trying to work on a query where there is a date selection in the where clause. i.e if sysdate is monday i have to get the data from friday until Sunday.
   and sh.change_date >=
               to_date('20110304 000000', 'YYYYMMDD HH24MISS')
           and sh.change_date <=
               to_date('20110306 235959', 'YYYYMMDD HH24MISS')Now am hardcoding the dates that i want to see in the change_date. But Is there any way that every time when i run the query i dont have to change these date values??

Day between two dates excluding Saturday and Sunday

I have the Requirement like : there are two inputs in query 1)startdate and 2)end date when end user enter the start date and end date the sql query has to retrive the number of days between given start and end dates, and it should be retrivied with two condition 1)all sundays between the above dates excluded 2)second and fourth Saturday of the month in between the start and end dates has to be excluded .
example start date:01-may-09
end date: 16-may-09
