Shutdown Ports not in use for a while with EEM Tcl

I have downloaded these 2 Tcl scripts from this previous discussion and from the sounds of it it's exactly what I've been looking for. But the problem is I'm new to EEM and have no idea how to go about putting these on the switches themselves. I've searched for configuration guides but to no prevail. Any help is greatly appreciated. Here's the link to previous discussion:
https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/164684.pdf;jsessionid=EEEEE143342DAAB34706D608D5C4C920.node0

Here's the output from running the script. Below that is the log file.

I have a feeling its truncating the good stuff. Is there a way to make it output everything and not truncate the rest of the lines or is that what the onscreen stuff from above is?

  • Fairly new battery not charging after not being used for a while

My computer (Elitebook 2530p) has not been used for a while, perhaps a month or two. The battery used to hold for over 3 hours of light use.
Now, the battery won't charge with the message "0% available (plugged in, not charging)"
I can't find a battery refresh utility in the BIOS, or any way to interact with the battery. Is there something I'm missing? Should the battery just go dead after not being used for a while?
    Update: fixed typo

I've run the HP battery check and got the code REOOW. Battery is dead, and I am out of warranty. I can't think of any possible reason why this should have happened.
What does this code (REOOW) mean?

My Ipad 2 will shut completely down if not being used for a while. You have to hold power button down for several minutes before it will power back on. anyone else have this problem and know how to fix?  My other sons ipad 2 doesnt do this and they have both had updates and are same generation.
    Thanks

I had major issues with the iPhone 4s battery, however it’s resolved.
The tech who set the phone up at the Apple store did so with little training.
if you have a mobile me account. First go and move all your data to the cloud by going on your computer and logging in at me.com/move. The cloud has replaced mobile me, so there is no need for those two accounts
Also make sure that for any of your email accounts you set them up to fetch, not push. My tech person set them all to have the email servers push data to the phone. The new iphone4s antenna is extremely strong so it will continually try to access stuff that is pushed–***** a lot of battery life doing this. It makes it worse if you have exchange 2010 accounts. Something about changes made to exchange really suck battery life from devices that access such accounts.
turning of locator and the push notifications from facebook--they have a lot!

  • My mac is constantly  dropping my wi fi connection when not in use for a while - annoying.

Recently my Mac has taken to dropping  the wi fi connection -  it seems to happen if the Mac isnt used for a short peiod of time say 10 mins or longer . It is very annoying and  it never used to do this. When you come back it tells you no connection and then  looks for the nework and says it cant find the prefeered one. I have reset newtork preferences to id/connect to  my home wi fi netowrk but the problem persists every time I ause use fora while. Really annoying. Is this something to do with a  recent OS software upgrade? Does Apple have a fix ? I am getting increasingly annoyed with  thier upgrades which are apparently  desighend to improve software but which  then degrade another apsect of performance. Any answers?

Hi Bibii and welcome to Discussions,
first of, you have posted in the Mac Pro section not the MacBook Pro section here http://discussions.apple.com/category.jspa?categoryID=190
Anyway, is this really a shutdown or is it just sleeping ?
If sleeping check the Energy Savings settings in the System Preferences for when your MBP should go to sleep when inactive.

Is it possible to close material codes/groups when they are no longer required? This would be similar to putting a date on Cost Centres in finance which then restrict the availability of use.

before putting deletion flag please be sure the stock in those material is ZERO
now rather than using MM06 use
    WSE1
here you can block n put deletion flag for material
and to remove deletion flag use

  • HT1379 The USB ports on my 30" Cinema are not working.  The monitor has not been used for a year or so, and the computer is a Mac Book Pro, 1012 model running OS Mavericks.  I need to move the computer between two locations, and the other monitor is a 27"

The USB ports on my 30" Cinema HD display appear to not work.  The monitor has not been used for almost a year, when I upgraded to a new Mac Book Pro and the 27" retina display.  Now I need to move the computer back and forth between two locations using the two displays.  The need for operating USB ports is essential.  Any ideas.  The display appears entirely normal.  Am running OS X 10.9.

    Disregard, problem solved.

  • Mail app closes when not used for a while how fix?

mail app closes when not used for a while how fix?

This may also be due to the Sudden Termination feature built into OS X, which will effectively quit a process if the system is demanding resources. Mail can be a RAM hog at times, and if your system only has a few GB of RAM, then when other programs demand more and you have not been using Mail then the system will invoke Sudden Termination to quit it so more RAM is available elsewhere.
Do you have only ~2-4GB of RAM in your system? Check for this in the About This Mac option in the Apple menu, and if so then consider upgrading to more if your system supports it. Alternatively you can try quitting other applications to free up more RAM.
To see which programs are using the most RAM, open the Activity Monitor utility and choose My Processes from the drop-down menu. Then ensure Real Memory is checked in the View > Columns menu, and click this menu's title to sort the items by it.
Keep in mind that sudden termination does not fully quit the program, so Mail may still show up in Activity Monitor when you open it even though it may be closed from the Dock.

This is absolutely normal, the iPad is turning off after a certain time to conserve energy…

  • Shuffle (2nd Gen) not been used for a few years - not working at all - any ideas?

My Ipod Shuffle (2nd Gen) has not been used for a long time and now will not give any reponse at all. It won't charge and it is not recognised by ITunes - is there anything I should do?

Sorry...  I did not notice your reply.
The initial blinking is good.  That means there is a connection between shuffle and computer.  But it should continue blinking or become a solid color (ON but not blinking).
It could be a problem with the battery.  If a lithium battery is left completely drained for an extended period, it can become unable to hold a charge.  However, it could also be a problem with the USB port (such as not enough available power or a USB device conflict).  As a test, you should try shutting down the computer and disconnecting all USB devices, including any hub, except for standard keyboard and mouse (if normally used).  If your computer is a laptop, connect its power adapter (so that it's not running on battery power).  Do this to reset the shuffle
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1655
Start up computer, run iTunes, and connect the shuffle by itself to a direct USB port on computer.

Hi, Although I had itunes downloaded on my pc & been using for a while now, today I've been prompted to download itunes again. This has been successfull except that 65 songs that I had previously in my library are now no longer able to play, the message informes me that the original files could not be found. Thank you

I would copy over the entire thing if you have room.  With iTunes 10.4 though, you can download any previous iTunes purchases you have made in the past with your current iTunes account.  While in iTunes, look at the left hand side of your screen and select "Purchases" and look at the bottom right corner of the screen and select "Download Previous Purchases".  If you have an iPhone, iPod and/or iPad...you can do the same thing from each device.  Nice new feature...just remember that those ripped CDs need a back-up!!!  Enjoy...

I am backing up my computer to an external hard drive using Time Machine.  It has been at 288.91 "used" for a while... should I just let it ride?  It's been going for about 7 hours now

It does not immediately delete the files that are missing.. it merely tries to backup the new files it has discovered on the external drive. Since you moved the files there, the backup at least for a while will contain both copies.. and that is why it doesn't have enough space to backup.
Fixing the problem.. hmm pondini is the expert.. you should be able to delete the backup of the photos in existing backup.. there are instructions to do it.. but it is a very poor way to do things.
Much better. .archive off the existing backup.. this is long and slow but worth it. you need a usb drive of the same size as the TC drive. Then erase the TC and start a fresh set of backups.
The alternative is to use the USB drive as a new target.. but it is much slower than the TC internal drive.

  • The server farm account should not be used for other services

I have created a new SharePoint Foundation 2013 Farm. I only used the Farm Configuration Wizard to create the Search Service Application, all other aspects of the Farm was created using PowerShell.
The SharePoint Health Analyzer is reporting the following error:
Title: The server farm account should not be used for other services.
    Severity: 1 - Error
    Category: Security
Explanation: DOMAIN\FARM_ACCOUNT, the account used for the SharePoint timer service and the central administration site, is highly privileged and should not be used for any other services on any machines in the server farm.  The following services were
found to use this account: Distributed Cache Service(Windows Service)
    Remedy: Browse to
http://centraladminsite:port/_admin/FarmCredentialManagement.aspx and change the account used for the services listed in the explanation. For more information about this rule, see "http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=142685".
Now I understand how to change the account used to run the Distributed Cache Service, but my query is what account should I use in the least privelage model? I have setup the following 6 accounts as per TechNet guidelines (Link)
and am not sure if one of these accounts should be used or if another account is required:
    SQL Server service account
    Setup user account
    Server farm account
    SharePoint Server Search service account
    Default content access account
    Application pool identity
After reviewing the TechNet article again, I don't fully understand the section titled "Service application accounts". Is the article advising me to create a seperate account for each row in the table? e.g. 1 account for Business Data Connectivity
Service, a different account for "Application Discovery and Load Balancer Service", another account for "App management" and another account for "Distributed Cache", so 4 extra accounts if I choose to install all of these services
    within the Farm?
Also, what does the article mean when it says "Plan one set of an application pool and proxy group for each service application that you plan to implement."? How do I go about doing this?
    Kevin Evans

After reviewing the TechNet article again, I don't fully understand the section titled "Service application accounts". Is the article advising me to create a seperate account for each row in the table? e.g. 1 account for Business Data Connectivity Service,
a different account for "Application Discovery and Load Balancer Service", another account for "App management" and another account for "Distributed Cache", so 4 extra accounts if I choose to install all of these services within the Farm?
Inder: Yes, It is suggested to have multiple service account for each service application. This increases security and dependencyof 1 account on multiple Service applications. Like below
    SQL Server service
    Local System account (default)
    Setup user
Member of the Administrators group on the local computer
    Server farm
    Network Service (default)
    No manual configuration is necessary.
    SharePoint Server Search Service
By default, this account runs as the Local System account.
If you want to crawl remote content by changing the default content access account or by using crawl rules, change this to a domain user account. If you do not change this account to a domain user account, you cannot change the default content access account
to a domain user account or add crawl rules to crawl this content. This restriction is designed to prevent elevation of privilege for any other process running as the Local System account.
    Default Content Access
No manual configuration is necessary if this account is only crawling local farm content. If you want to crawl remote content by using crawl rules, change this to a domain user account, and apply the requirements listed for a server farm.
    Content Access
Same requirement as the default content access account.
    Profile import Default Access
    Same requirements as server farm.
    Excel Services Unattended Service
Must be a domain user account.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc263445%28v=office.15%29.aspx
Also, what does the article mean when it says "Plan one set of an application pool and proxy group for each service application that you plan to implement."? How do I go about doing this?
Inder: Each service account has a application pool and you can plan to use same application pool for multiple
service accounts if required. These application pool are then consumed by proxy connection
of each service application. On service application pool, you can see all the service applications and its proxy connection.

My itunes store account it still active but its declining my visa account which i have been using for a while to download apps

My experience in this situation has been that's it's related to the visa card, and not necessarily the phone or the iTunes store.  In addition to verifying all of the credentials on the card as entered, I'd also check with you card bank and see if they have declined the charges due to some type of security concerns.  I have a Chase card, and they will decline a charge even though there are sufficient funds available, if the charges meet some security screening criteria.
