Siebel Public Sector verification Plan Item applet

In siebel public sector application .we have verification Plan view under Case form applet. We can add a verification template there and associted verification Item will be populated in verification Item child applet .
We are not allowed to create our own verification Item there.in a scenario of adding a new item ,when you don't have consolidate list of all verfication Item in the begining .I have to go back and create a new template for every new added item and caseworker will end up creating multiple verification template .
Is there a technical resaon why verification Item can't be created manually .
What is the business logic of restricting new verification item creation .

  • Http 404 error while opening Siebel Public Sector Web Client

    Hello Experts
I recently migrated to siebel web client and tools 8.2.2 from 8.2. However the issue that i have been facing now is that when i open my client i get HTTP 404 Not Found- The Web Page cannot be found.
Things that i have done to configure:
    1. Enabled ActiveX settings-Settings as given in http://www.siebeloracle.com/accessing-oracle-siebel-8-1-using-windows-7-ie8-works-on-32-bit-os/
    2. EnableFQDN: FALSE, FQDN: Commented.
    3. My ODBC and public sector cfg have been configured as per need.
Strangely what i have encountered is that: sometimes of 1 out 30 trials, when my client opens up [P(opening client)->0 i.e. Probability is close to 0] the port number is 8081 whereas in other instances it is 8080 which i guess is by default.
    URL: http://localhost:8080/start.swe
I have tried reinstalling the client but still i face the same issue.
Kindly help me out with this issue.
    Regards
    KT

    Hi,
I see that its not a problem with the installation but some problem with the port 8080. I feel some other application is running by default on that port. So, everytime whenever I have to launch Siebel Web client, I have to launch 2 instances. (8080 and 8081). So, the instance which launches on port 8081 + works fine.
I see this process to be time consuming as I have to wait for 2 instances to open up. Hence, is there any way to define the default launch of the port when the client opens up?
    Thanks and Regards

  • Siebel Public Sector Features/Functionality

I'm looking for details on Oracle's latest "re-tooling" of Siebel's Public Sector solutions. The 8.0 data sheets are making a lot of claims that I would like to demonstrate to my clients, including:
National Information Exchange Model (NIEM) capabilities
    Docket Management
    e-filing support
    Case Closure and Disposition
I want to ensure that these are not just marketing buzzwords but real solutions.
All I need is a description of the solution and / or the Siebel View or BC that supports these claims.

  • Public Sector: Will this have any issues during Siebel upgrade?

    Hello,
We are using Siebel Public Sector application (Case Management) in our product.
Every contact who is Primary under a Contact will be associated to a Master Case. If there is no master case associated with primary contact, siebel will create a new master case. In other words, Contact to Master Case is 1:1 relationship.
We are in the process of developing a new requirement where in a Contact can be linked to one or more Master Cases (1:M). Since this is deviates Siebel OOB feature we do not want to change it.
Instead, we have created a new custom stand-alone Table (which mimics OOB Master Case columns) and a "New Custom BC".
Created a link betwen Contact BC and New Custom BC (Id -> Par Row Id).
In "New Custom BC", field called "Master Case Number"  has a dynamic picklist based on OOB "PUB Master Case" BC.
For other field we have mapped using pickmaps.
Our requirement is met but our only question is "Will this have any issues during Siebel upgrade?"
Quick responses will be very helpful.

Thank you for your reply.  I only see three versions of Adobe Reader available for Windows XP SP3 at the Adobe site
    http://get.adobe.com/reader/otherversions
In doing some research, it seems there were some issues if you skipped an update but I did not find any information (only other queries) as to my original question of compatibility.  Also, how can we access the older file if it won't open in 10.1.2?
Can I load 10.1.2 in addition to their older version to check and see what will or will not open correctly before I uninstall the older version?  I don't want to load the new version and then have them not be able to access a needed file...

  • Creation of Public Sector Planning application fails for LDAP user

The environment is on Windows 2008 R2 & EPM 11.1.2.2.302 of Planning. The creation of "general" planning applications works fine, regardless of the method of creation, Native User/LDAP User or Classic/EPMA. The creation of Public Sector Planning application using Classic Administration fails when using an LDAP user.
It works when using a Native User. It also works fine if EPMA is used, for both Native as well as LDAP users.
Our developers are not comfortable with EPMA yet, so want/need the ability to create the applications using Classic Administration.
Looking at the Planning sysout log, the only error message indicates a timeout with Calculation Manager:
Calc manager rules initialization failed. Please load and deploy the rules from Calc Manager UI
ERROR:Error while loading rules in Calc Manager. <HTML><HEAD><TITLE>Weblogic Bridge Message</TITLE></HEAD> <BODY><H2>Failure of server APACHE bridge:</H2><P><hr>No backend server available for connection: timed out after 10 seconds or idempotent set to OFF or method not idempotent.<hr> </BODY></HTML>
Calculation Manager itself seems to be working fine.
    Any suggestions/thoughts anyone?
    Thanks,
    Andy

    Hi Vivek,
The LDAP port is open to all the servers in the environment. LDAP users have no issues logging in to any of the tools that they have access to.
I think it has something to do with how Classic Planning passes the security token to Calculation Manager for an LDAP user. For a "general" Planning app, there is no evidence of such a transfer, because the Rules are created after the app has been created. And there the user logs in directly to Calculation Manager to create the rules.
When using EPM Architect, it would lead to reason that such a token is also passed, however, that mechanism does not seem to have any trouble.
This is the first time I am using a pre-packaged application like PSB, and have so far worked with only with "general" Planning apps. Wanted to see if anyone else has created PSB apps using external users successfully, so I can trade environment notes and may be come to a cause/solution.
    Thanks,
    Andy

  • Public Sector Planning - Adding a Dimension

I have added a new dimension in a Public Sector planning application called Fund. After adding the new dimension I am not able to pull up any forms as I am stopped by an error that reads "Not all dimensions are represented in the form". Is there a systematic way to add the new dimension to the forms or do I have to modify one form at a time?

To answer my own question... do not add a dimension to HCP. The way we set up the app was to use all 4 plan types, HCP, Expense cube, Revenue cube, and a reporting cube. The reporting cube has all dimensions but no calcs (just Xrefs), and the extra dimensions that HCP requires are mapped to the required dimensions in the reporting cube via smartlists.
In short, don't add dimensions to HCP, use smartlists

  • SAP Procurement for Public Sector package

    Hi All,
does anyone have any useful info on what is actually included in the SAP Procurement for Public Sector package?
I've read the solution brief which is really general and doens't actually give any details.
What I'm after is to know which components of SRM are actually included in this licensing package?
    Thanks
    Chris

    Hi Chris,
I'm part of the IBU for Public Sector, specializing in the SAP PPS Package.
    HIGH-LEVEL PACKAGE CONTENTS (a.k.a. BOM):
    - SAP SRM (current GA release based on 5.0; Q4 08 planned release is based on 7.0)
    - SAP Document Builder (current GA release v 2.0; Q4 08 planned release has v 3.0)
    - SAP NW Records Management/Case Management (rights to use for any procurement scenarios - HR, FI, other uses require additional licenses)
    - Enhancements to these components and SAP ERP 2005 that are known in the technical component list as Government Procurement 1.0 (in the current GA release) or Government Procurement 7.0 (in the Q4 08 release).
    COMPONENT EXPLANATIONS:
    - When we say "SAP SRM", generally we mean "the combined package of engines that were formerly sold as single components", including Strategic Sourcing, Bidding Engine, Auctions, MDM Catalog (only - not all MDM is included), etc.  Legally, I cannot say "all SRM components" because the list may be changed periodically, but I cannot think of a particular exception either.
    - SAP Document Builder is currently not sold separately.
    - SAP NetWeaver Records and Case Management are not the ones used in CRM - these are the standard delivered apps for Records and Case Management with SAP, used to accomplish several PPS scenarios.
    CLARIFICATIONS:
NOTE1: product PPS should NOT be referred to as "SAP Government Procurement", which is a retired product name. The term "Government Procurement" today only refers to the technical set of enhancements, and is an internal convention within SAP, so you won't see it referred to normally.
NOTE2: eSourcing is not the same as SRM. eSourcing is not part of PPS, and is not part of the license for PPS.  We do not recommend a customer to buy both eSourcing and PPS, since they address different needs and pains. e.g., PPS should be considered when integration with ERP is important.
NOTE3: ERP 6.0 is required for PPS customers, but SRM 'core' does not have that dependency.  It's too long to explain here, but suffice to say you wouldn't expect to be able to run an XBOX game on your 1986 Nintendo console.  We cannot run most new PPS functionality on older ERP releases for much of the same reason: we have been building new functionality as quickly as NetWeaver gave us the tools to do so.  If this stuff were easy it've been done by now - by SAP and our competitors.
However, rest assured ERP PRs (and SOs) can still start the process as well as SRM Shopping Carts and POs are replicated to ERP so follow-on GR/IR can be done in ERP.
Enhancements have been made to ERP 6.0 as well, including in the base release, and in EhP 3 and EhP 4 of ERP 6.0, which will be important with the Q4 08 PPS planned release, to enable signifcant new complex line item and pricing functionality and other features. And again - you can run Classic + Extended Classic using the Ext Classic BADI.
NOTE4: ERP 6.0 is not part of the PPS BOM and no ERP 6.0 rights are included.  Customers must have Business Suite or other ERP user licenses in conjunction.
NOTE5: Customers with SRM licenses today may convert their license to PPS. This is done on a case-by-case basis, so SRM customers in Public Sector are not required to migrate or convert - contact your SAP AE for details if you need more information.
For more information, you can contact me at: FirstnamedotlastnameatSAPdotcom.
Rules prohibit me from typing the address into the answer, but I am the Field Services contact for partners in the Americas for this product so it's appropriate in this case to contact me directly.
Thanks to SDN regular Andreas Muno for sending me your Post so that I could respond.

    Mark,
I contacted the Sr. Development Director overseeing this product area and here is the official response to your question:
Public Sector functionality comes in two flavors:
    1. Global - items that apply to multiple legislations such as Grade Step Progression. These general have value beyond just public sector however are often essential for Public Sector organizations. This type of functionality is delivered as part of our global install.
    2. Legislation Specific - Items such as 403B pretax plans in the US and teachers pay in the UK are public sector functionality specific to those countries. This functionality is generally installed as part of the legislation data.
Note that we have only one product - Oracle HRMS. It has components for different legislations and industries that coexist in a single installation. Customers simply choose to use the parts of the product that are required for their business.

  • Projects vs. Public Sector

Users need to add Projects into Planning.  I know they can if they create a Application Type "Projects Financial Planning"...
The problem is we are developing a "Public Sector" Application Type.
What are the ways I can move metadata, "new Projects", in the "Projects" application to the Public Sector cube?
    Thanks,
    PR

    Hi PR,
Can't you have both Public Sector and Projects Financial Planning as separate apps and then let the data flow between apps using Map Reporting Application?  UC Berkeley owns PSBP and we have anoter plan type that PSBP data flows into.  M2 Dynamic and UCB did couple of presentations at ODTUG in the last couple of years.  I uploaded last year's presentation into Dropbox.  You might find it useful.  Here is the link:  https://www.dropbox.com/s/ehz3b5kuzaklsd4/ttymczak.enterprisepublic.pdf

We are currently planning an upgrade to the ERP 2005s release that will include the new Tax and Revenue Management features. We have been using SAP FI-CA and SD for out tax processing for years and really look forward to finally getting a tax processing solution out of the box from SAP.

  • Web Request in Public Sector

    Hi ,
Has any one worked on Web request in social services. If any one has any tutorials related to how to create a web page using this technology please let me know.
In SPRO it comes under Public sector->Social Service->Web Request
I have developed web applicatons using CRM Web UI(BSP_WD_CMPWB). How is web request different from Web UI developement.
    Thanks
    Ansari

The context for each main item is close to what is given below:
    Public Sector -->  Industry sector
Social Service --> Like Government Services for the benefit of the society
Web Request  -->  A "simple" service request for use through a web application like ICSS
The Web Request  in this context is NOT technology related. It is a transaction type and a kind of simplified Service Request . Likewise, Social Services  should not be confused with "Web Services" in any sense.
Hope this, in some way, answers your questions or at least help you understand their "real" meaning.
