Siemens SL45-Recordstore

Hello,
I developed an application which uses a Recordstore to save different values. I tested this application on a real Motorola Accompli 008 device and on many emulators including the Siemens SL45i emulator.
The Recordstore works everywhere fine but on the real device of the SL45 the records are saved only until I exit the midlet suite. If the application exits then all data are lost.
Does anyone has a solution or a tip how to solve this problem?
Thanks in advance.
Klaus

Hi,
Just wanted to add one more question here.
I am also trying to access phone specific information. But not getting success.
I am trying to write small application forSiemens or any vendor based phones and want to access and update the phone book which comes with siemens mobile.
I think we need to use Siemens extended API or API provided by that vendor but not sure.
Do you have any idea how to do this ?
Thanks,
Hton

  • OTA download provisioning problems

    Hi!
I'm experiencing problems provisionig midlet OTA download.
I got IIS 5.0 and set up the mime types for .jad and .jar.
After exploring and selecting the link to the appropriate jad-file via WAP the download of the jad-file appears to be successfull. But after trying to download the jar file, the server's log is only reporting the http-response 406 [at the sc-status] (more info about 406: http://www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc2616/rfc2616-sec10.html) and no transmission is preformed.
The file could be downloaded directly by a normal browser (non wap! e.g. in win).
    hmmm... anyone ideas?
I tryed to download with Siemens SL45.

Not Acceptable (406) returned by the server because your WAP browser did not state that it recieved JAD. The header for a JAD file supprisingly did not have application/vnd.sun.j2me.app-descriptor

Currently I'm using IIS 4.0 and change the mime type to text/plain and guess what... it works.
However, if your using siemens M50 you might experiencing problem again later as the JAM request header somehow miss the comma between acceptable MIME Type (I haven't had a cure yet for this problem, not even with writing my own web server who ignore acceptable mime type)
    JAM HTTP request:
HTTP_ACCEPT:application/java-archive application/java text/vnd.sun.j2me.app-descriptor (missing comma between Acceptable MIME type)

    Hello,
A couple of days ago, i purchased a brand new N95.
To my frusruration, I found out there's no support for Linux from Nokia.
I want to know, is there going to be a release soon for Ubuntu Linux? (Debian based)
Does any one know about another brand that does support Linux?
I would apreciate an answer from a FORMAL nokia team member!
and if there are any other users sharing my situation, please post in your situation as well.

  • [Solved]Synaptics Touchpad not working at all on Fujitsu Siemens UH552

    Hi,
I have just installed Arch on my Fujitsu Siemens UH552 laptop. Everything works except for the touchpad which seems to get loaded by Xorg, but when in X it doesn't work. I have tried both using /dev/input/event* and /dev/input/mouse0 as device paths, neither works.
    xf86-input-evdev and xf86-input-synaptics are installed.
I have tried running both with the default 10-evdev.conf, with 10-synaptics.conf, with both, and without both.
    TLDR SOLUTION: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 3#p1189603
    My current 10-synaptics.conf:
    Section "InputClass"
    Identifier "Touchpad Catchall"
    MatchIsTouchpad "on"
    MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/event*"
    Driver "synaptics"
    Option "TapButton1" "1"
    Option "TapButton2" "2"
    Option "TapButton3" "3"

I have tried doing that with both linux mint, and now fedora live usb. Neither one loads the touchpad correctly.  So yeah, our problems weren't really related
Anyway, I tried looking into the
psmouse serio1: bad data from KBC - timeout
messages, and tried running psmouse proto (defined in /etc/modprobe.conf/psmouse.conf) as both raw and imps as per https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s … ion/206950 Unfortunately, that didn't solve anything. Using the raw setting meant that the touchpad wasn't loaded at all (as in not appearing in the Xorg.log at all).
The laptop is quite new, but at the same time what i figured from the touchpad vendor & product ID, the touchpad itself isn't. So it should technically work. Before installing arch i booted into windows to see if everything worked, and found no issues with the touchpad. So I have ruled out any hardware errors. Maybe its just the Fn-key that doesn't work yet in Linux? But that doesn't explain the "psmouse serio1: bad data from KBC - timeout" Any pointers to where I should look/ what commands I should run to delve deeper into this issue?

  • Fujitsu-Siemens P24W-3 LCD flickers

    Hi guys,
i connected a Fujitsu-Siemens P24W-3 LCD (1920 x 1200, 60 Hz) to my new MacBook Air using the Apple Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter and the display flickers.
If I connect it with the Apple Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter it does not flicker but the image looks terrible, washed out.
If I connect the display to the DVI port of my old MacBook Pro, it does not flicker.
Therefore, I think the issue is with the adaptor, which should support the specs of 1920 x 1200 at 60 Hz.
I tried another Apple Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter: the image flickers, albeit less.
Help? Shall I try to return the adapter?

Do you think it will help if I buy a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Cable?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
If you have the cable, just connect it to both and the desktop will show up on the external display. Then, you can select different modes, changing arrangement in System Preferences > Displays > Arrangement, or using shortcuts > http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5019

  • Mp3 and RecordStore Capable Emulator

Currently I'm trying to develop an application that plays back mp3's. I am just wondering if there exists an emulator that can handle both, record sets and mp3 playback.
WTK22 does a good job of handling recorcStores, but can not handle Mp3 playback.
I did find a motorola emulator that handled mp3 playback, unfortunately it crashes as soon as I try and load information into the recordStore.
If anyone knows of one, perhaps they could pass along the name, or even a link.
Another question I do have about WTK22 is, is there any way of increasing the recordStore size, or is it stuck at 1MB . . . and what is the average size of a record store on a new phone these days?

I wasn't sure what is RecordStore but apparently it is MIDP's way of persisting data.
As it shows, I have little knowledge of JavaME, so I don't know if that's a problem with the emulator or the usage of RecordStore within JavaFX or something else.
Now, perhaps you can use the [javafx.io.Storage|http://java.sun.com/javafx/1.2/docs/api/javafx.io/javafx.io.Storage.html] class for persisting data, it is designed to work both in JavaME and on desktop.
It might offer less features than RecordStore, though.

  • How can I write to a Siemens S7-300 PLC tag from OPC Server.vbai page by using a Knob object ?

I am using NI OPC Server and I can read Siemens S7-300 PLC tags such as thermocouple values from the PLC. Additonally I can write manually a constant value to that tag by selecting it in the NI Distributed System Manager. And I can read the written value from NI Distributed System Manager or from NI OPC Server. But I can not write any value to the S7300 PLC tags such as by using a knob object at the NI Vision Builder AI Inpection (.vbai) page.
Any help is welcomed. Thanks in advance.

The tutorial at the following location explains how to use Vision Builder AI as a OPC server.
    https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-18647
    http://www.ni.com/white-paper/13574/en
To allow VBAI to connect to an OPC Server (i.e. act as an OPC client), you need to purchase and install the DSC Run-time System.
Once installed, you can create an OPC I/O client using the Distributed System Manager, create variables bound to OPC tags, then create VBAI network variables that are bound to these variables.
Another possible technical solution to connect to OPC Servers supporting Data Access 2.0 is to use the datasocket API in a Run LabVIEW step.

  • SL45 - read address book entries

    Hi,
perhaps someone can show an example for beginners using siemens oem extensions with the siemens sl 45.
more precisely i would like to read out address book entries...
    thanks

As far as I know the current SL45i-version doesn't offer this functionality (only access to missed calles).
In future upgrades it should be possible, but of course no examples are available at this moment.

  • About workin with RecordStore

i have been workin on an application for Palm OS which deals with a lot of database.the application is workin fine and the data also seems to be consistent. however the problem started when i started to work with conduit for tha application. can someone tell me about a better way to manipulate the data stored by the recordstore using java conduit.
    thank u !

kAWT is built on top of kJava and only works with kJava (I am not sure if anyone has ported it to MIDP). kAWT has nothing to do with databases, it is only for GUI management similar to J2SE AWT. So if you want to use kJava, you can use kAWT for your GUI, but you do not have to. Also, if you use kJava, regaurdless of kAWT, you can use the Palm database - the two are not mutually exclusive.
Now for MIDP. kAWT, as far as I know, has not been ported to MIDP. MIDP is a replacement for kJava, and it also runs on Cell phones. MIDP is somewhat OK for Palm, but really does not take full advantage of the Palm and the palm native GUI components. On this forum, there is better support for support for MIDP than kJava.
If you are going to write an application for the Palm and only for the Palm, and it must be in Java, AND you need to take advantage of sophisticated Palm OS features, consider downloading and using IBM's J9 compiler (VAME). It opens up the full Palm OS. However, writing Palm applications is not as easy as MIDP or kJava, and will take longer to learn. The support for J9 is through the IBM VAME newsgroup.
If your application is simple, and you do not need to use the IR port, serial port, access other databases other than your own, or need to have tight control over the user interface, go with MIDP. Download Forte and the wireless toolkit from Sun and follow the install directions, and read the PDF documents in the /doc directory.
Also, there are a large number of postings in this forum about using MIDP on Palms and MIDP with the wireless toolkit and Forte. There are also people form Sun who monitor and reply to problems in this forum when they pertain to MIDP. kJava does not have this level of support.
Once you have picked your development tools, and if you have further problems, lets resolve them one at a time. Post the actual error message as a new topic and people in the forum will take it from there.

  • I would like to use DasyLab for a research project with Siemens PLC

I would like to use DasyLab with Siemens PLC Simatic S7-300. Which OPC Server shall I use?
I would like a manual for connecting DasyLab via OPC server to the PLC if it is possible.
Could I use NI OPC Servers which are compatible with LabView?
    Thank you for your help

I believe that Siemens has an OPC server that you can purchase.
KepWare has the KepServer and drivers for Siemens www.kepware.com.
DASYLab has the Help menu with the instructions for the OPC DA modules. It's straightforward - configure the OPC server with the necessary drivers and connections (tags). Update rates are in milliseconds, for example, 100 ms is typical. You need to know your device and driver, to determine data types.
Once configured, KepServer has an OPC quick client to allow you to test your settings.
Then, add the OPC DA module to DASYLab, connect to the server, and select the tags to read or write.
Note that it's simple to set up on a single computer - to set up on multiple computers requires assistance from your It team to correctly configure the DCOM permissions. That's specific to the OPC server.

  • CTI Problem in inbound call scenario with Siemens OpenScape Contact Center (CMS)

    Hello Experts,
we are working on a SAP CRM 7.0 EhP 2 with CTI to a CMS from Siemens (OpenScape Contact Center).
The basic integration works perfect, so that agents get informed about incoming calls in their Interaction Center UI and so on.
Currently we have a problem with handling of incoming calls:
When the agent is available (workmode 'ready') and he does not accept the call, the next available agent in the queue gets the call.
So far, so good. The problem is that the calls, the agent did not accept, do not disappear in the upper right corner. They are counted up to 5 and a timer starts counting up to 600 seconds. When the 600 seconds are reached, the agend gets disconnected from the communication channel, too.
(In case the agent talkes a call again, this counter is reset to again)
Is there any possibility to avoid the signalization of unaccepted calls from CRM side (generally)?
How could we prevent the agent from disconnection after 600 seconds and 5 unaccepted calls from CRM side?
    Thanks in advance!
    Kind regards
    Martin

    Hi Yoro,
do you click on a physical phone button or on the button in the WebUI.
As far is i know, the OpenScape Contact Center does not support hang up funktionallity of the related button in the WebUI.
If you do not use wrapup time (which is used to give the agent time for the data maintenance before he continues receiving calls) the Counter shoud end after the call.
It seams that the OpenScape does not work propperly.
For more details you can take a look into the Log:
    Transaction CRM_ICI_TRACE
You have to set the User Parameter CRM_ICI_TRACELEVEL to value XXX to enable the logging.
    Good Luck!
    Kind regards,

  • Has somebody already used Applicom PCI2000ETH Card or Applicom SW1000ETH software to communicate with ETHERNET bewteen siemens s7-300 and LabVIEW DSC ?

I want to use ETHERNET and not PROFIBUS to communicate and I think you can do that with only the applicom software SW-1000ETH. You must just have an ethernet card on your PC. So, you could use a notebook with an
ethernet card. You can also use Applicom PCI2000ETH for better performance.

    Hi,
You might be able to get the configuration listed above working as long as you can get from Siemens/Applicom or any other third party provider a OPC Server that communicates with the S7-300. Since LabVIEW DSC is a OPC client, you would be able to establish connection.
The National Instruments driver for the S7-300 (Containnned in the product called "IA OPC Server CD") does not support communication through ethernet directly, you would either have to have a Profibus board or use a serial port with a Siemens HMI Adapter.
    I hope it helps
