SIGNING FAILURE (Viewer Builder)

We are trying to generate the Distribution Viewer (.zip) from the Viewer Builder and are running into an issue.  This happens at the end of the export process when the link for the .zip is clicked. The developer version (.ipa) works fine.
I have gone back to the Apple Developer Center and revoked all certificates and created them from scratch, along with new mobileprovision files and private key (p12). The error continues to persist.
Is there any information you can give us on what may be causing the Signing to fail on the Distribution file?

iIs there anymore updates on this? I'm having the same problem. I get a signing error when i try to get the ipa and zip. It worked the first time but i had to chnge one thing and have never been able to get past the signing error at the end again.
I've went through every step multiple times, revoked all certificates and provisions, cleared out the keychain and basically re-did the whole process more times than i can count. Everything matches up as far as i can see but I still get the signing error which is in no way specific to what exactly is wrong with the p12 files. I do other apple development on the same machine and dont have problems publishing.
So as theres no support system and the company have already paid for a single lisense which at the minute is used on an app we cant access does anyone have any idea how to solve this?

  • Viewer Builder signing failure for distribution viewer

    I'm having the following problem:
I"m able to download the developer ipa from Viewer Builder with no problems, but when I try to download the distribution build, I get a VB error, "signing failure."
this indicates to me that there is a problem perhaps with my p12 and mobile provisioning profile, but I've done all that correctly, as far as I know, and tried multiple times to reproduce from Apple's provisioning portal, but nothing works.
is anyone else having this problem?

Yes, I've been having this issue since last Friday. But, my ipa isn't working either....

  • Viewer Builder error: 'Signing Failed'

What does the View Builder Error 'Signing Failed' mean when I download my developer or distribution apps from Viewer Builder? The dev IPA and dist ZIP files appear to download correctly despite the message, so what is it trying to tell me?
    Ali

Righty, I turn to page 15 of the 'Adobe Publishing Process for iPad Viewer Apps' PDF as provided by my Adobe reseller. All the screenshots are blurred but no matter, I can probably muddle through.
The chapter is headed 'Setting up Apple Push Notification Service (Optional)'. At the end of the introductory text is a paragraph reading: 'Important: If you have already created an App ID and certificates, you can configure your App ID to enable push notifications. You don't need to create new development and distribution certificates. However, you do need to create new mobileprovision files.'
Fine, that's clear. My app exists already: I'm just planning to build an updated version, so naturally I have an App ID. The paragraph has told me that I don't need to create certificates, but I do need new mobileprovision files.
The first section after this is headed 'Creating a push notification certificate'. OK, I shall ignore this section because, as explained above, I apparently don't need to create any certificates.
The next section after this is headed: 'Creating a .p12 APN certificate'. Again, my understanding is that I don't need to create any certificates, so I shall ignore this section too.
Oh... I've already reached the end of the chapter on 'Setting up Apple Push Notification Service (Optional)' and I haven't done anything. How do I create the special mobileprovision files that I'm supposed to need for APN?
Well, this seems odd, so I flip back to page 6 and the beginning of the chapter headed 'Creating Certificates', seeking clarification. In the introductory text is a paragraph that reads: "If you want to enable the Apple push notification service (APN), create a separate certificate that you can upload to the Adobe fulfillment server. See the section on setting up push notifications for details.'
So this chapter is telling me that I need to create a new certificate for APN, but no mention of mobileprovision files, yet at the same time tells me to read a chapter that tells me that I don't need to create new certificates for APN and I do need new mobileprovision files.
I'm afraid I can't make any sense of this, and neither can anyone I send these instructions to. Luckily for us, APN isn't particularly significant for a twice-yearly magazine. But it would be nice to get a handle on it in case we launch a weekly.

  • Viewer Builder, Built-in Single App, Error "Signing Failed"

    Hi All
I created Built-in Single App, with sample1.zip exported on Dashboard,
developer-viewer.ipa/developer-viewer.zip is built correctly. (Folio/Viewer version is V21)
Than I changed only from sample1.zip to magazine.zip,
then developer-viewer.ipa/developer-viewer.zip is Not built, with "Signing Failed".
I checked provision files, p12 files and others, uninstall and install Viewer Builder,
    but still I can't built a built-in Single App with magazine.zip.
    How to fix this trouble?
    shimoawazu

I used a sample1.zip for confirming the Viewer Builder settings.
The sample1.zip is 4pages data of our magazine.
I built a Built-in Single App with sample1.zip by Viewer Builder correctly.
Then the folio of magazine was ready, I published it and exported magazine.zip.
And I just changed from sample1.zip to magazine.zip, but a Built-in Single App is not built correctly with "Signing Failed".
I deleted the App on the list of Viewer Builder and  re-built a Built-in Single App again,
the result is same, "Signing Failed".
I changed from magazine.zip to sample1.zip, Built-in Single App is built correctly.
    What is wrong with magazine.zip?

  • Signing Viewer Builder for Android

I have been trying to publish my first app to the Android Market using the DPS Pro Edition & I'm having trouble creating certificates to sign my app in DPS Viewer Builder (version 2.1.130)
Every time I click on the .apk package to download it from Viewer Builder I get an error pointing to something being wrong with the certificate I have created. The error I get is: Viewer Builder Error: Signed output file could not be created- certificates may be invalid. It does dowload a file called unsigned-viewer.zip I presume I can't do anything with this without it being signed.
I've read and followed all that is mentiond in http://developer.android.com/tools/publishing/app-signing.html to create the certificate.
I have tried creating the certificate using Flash and Terminal from my mac running OS 10.7.4
My folios were built using Viewer Version v22
Any help would be very much appreciated.
    Cheer
    Simon

What version of Viewer Builder are you using? If it's 2.1.x and not 2.2, move Viewer Builder from the Applications folder to the trash and download the most up-to-date version from the Dashboard. Then try again.

  • Viewer builder / Push certificates failure

    hello DPS community,
I'm facing a quite bothering issue with the viewer builder : I'm unable to load my push certificates (both development and prod).
Following the guidelines of the Adobe Production Guide, here's what I do :
    1 - generate a CSR certificate
2 - generate the Devopment certificate and the p12 file
3 - generate the Production certificate and the p12 file
4 - generate the Push notification APS Production certificate and the APN Production p12 certificate
5 - generate the Push notification APS Development certificate and the APN Development p12 certificate
6 - generate the Development Mobileprovision certificate
7 - generate the Distribution Mobileprovision certificate
    My three questions are :
    > should I generate a CSR certificate for each and every step of the procedure ?
    > is the order of the procedure correct ?
    > is there a specific name under which the certificates have to be saved, in order to be correctly recognized by the viewer builder ?
I've scouting through the pages of the forum, and have seen this issue has been raised quite a few times... but couldn't find an answer !
    Any help welcome !
    (I'm running CS6 on Mac OS 10.7.4)
    Regards,

It says (in french, roughly translated) :
Tag "Apple Production IOS Push Services:" or "Apple Production IOS Push Services:" expected not found in that certificate
    and
Tag "Apple Development IOS Push Services:" or "Apple Development IOS Push Services:" expected not found in that certificate

  • Viewer Builder v1.5.1 Bugs

When I build an enterprise app with the Viewer Builder 1.5.1 (v15 viewer) I encounter these two problems:
    Hide Navigation Toolbar
    — in every view but Folio View
does not work, the bottom buttons appear even when I view a folio
When I add custom HTML in my own toolbar buttons, I disable "Show Navigation Controls", but they appear in every view, strangely there is an "sign out" button that appears with no function (see screenshot below)
    Viewer Version 2.0.0.24.32168

    but ... another problem:
Custom HTML for the toolbar are not allowed to contain subfolders.
Viewer Builder warns me if my zip file contains more than one HTML file but not if it contains subfolder.
I build an instructional site in Adobe Edge, exported for use in the enterprise viewer, but have to search-and-replace the Edge output to make it conform.

  • VIDEO: Creating Newsstand capable apps with Viewer Builder 1.5.1

    Hi Everyone,
Colin Fleming of Adobe has created this great video on how to create Newsstand capable apps with Viewer Builder 1.5.1 (and later) and posted it to YouTube. Check it out here:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_i_gvAoySuo

Thanks Bob, I'm getting there, it seems like I'm working my way through a jigsaw puzzle!
I get the Adoble ID for signing in, which is the valid email that I then use to sign in to folio builder and producer
such as [email protected], but for the Apple in-app purchasing they use a reverse domain structure one for the length the subscription will last, (in my case 1 year) so I use info.aq2.publication.annual and then the 2nd non-consumable I create a product ID for each publication ie info.aq2.publication.winter11. These later 2 reverse domains are what I've put in the viewer builder.
So what I'm not understanding yet is how I link an individual Apple ID to a folio in Folio producer
so sign in to folio producer, with [email protected]
do I use the Apple ID (reverse domain structure) in the folio name?
In Folio producer I will have all of my quarterly folio's
    will it be
Folio Name                              Publication Name          Folio Number          Etc
    info.aq2.publication.winter11          CM Review                        1
    info.aq2.publication.spring12          CM Review                        2
You can teach old dogs new tricks, it just takes a while :-)
    cheers

  • Viewer Builder 1.9.0 Problem

    Hi,
we are producing our first single issue publication and have successfully produced and tested a developer viewer (ipa) using viewer builder 1.9.0.
We are now ready to produce the distribution viewer (zip) to send to Apple but we are having issues (we have tried this on a couple of macs).
The process taken is exactly the same as we did for the developer viewer in that we specify in the popup box our p12 dist certificate and its password then our dist mobile provision.
This all seems ok but when we click 'download and sign' nothing happens except for the distribution certificate field in the popup window now has a red border. There is no error message.
We have tried to remake the certificate but this did not work.
    Does anyone have an answer?
    Thanks

Yes, it sounds like this is not the right certificate. you should be able to rebuild that.
if the error is on the distribution mobileprovision, you need to make sure that you made this provisioning file for the app you are exporting (in the provisioning portal at apple).

  • Viewer Builder 1.5.1 with Newsstand support is now available! Download Details

    Hi everyone,
I am delighted to announce the release of Viewer Builder 1.5.1. What's new in this update? iOS 5 Newsstand support! Lots of you have been asking for it and we are pleased to provide it in advance of Apple's iOS 5 release on October 12th. In the interest of releasing this update quickly I have shared the new client installer here:
    https://acrobat.com/#d=VUF3T7VQuexRvtltwp34Yg
It will be available on the Digital Publishing Portal (https://digitalpublishing.acrobat.com/app.html) from midday PST.
Please note that in order to create a Newsstand-capable app you must create a Subscription Viewer in Viewer Builder and it must be a V15 Viewer.
Jonathan Ferman, Viewer Builder Product Manager

    Hello,
    i have a problem:
    Dear developer,
We have discovered one or more issues with your recent delivery for "XY". To process your delivery, the following issues must be corrected:
Invalid Code Signing Entitlements - The signature for your app bundle contains entitlement values that are not supported. For the com.apple.developer.ubiquity-container-identifiers entitlement, the first value in the array must consist of the prefix provided by Apple in the provisioning profile followed by a bundle identifier suffix. The bundle identifier must match the bundle identifier for one of your apps or another app that you are permitted to use as the iCloud container identifier.
Specifically, value "D000000000.*" for key "com.apple.developer.ubiquity-container-identifiers" in viewer is not supported.
Invalid Code Signing Entitlements - The signature for your app bundle contains entitlement values that are not supported.
Specifically, value "D000000000.*" for key "com.apple.developer.ubiquity-kvstore-identifier" in viewer is not supported.
Once these issues have been corrected, go to the Version Details page and click "Ready to Upload Binary." Continue through the submission process until the app status is "Waiting for Upload." You can then deliver the corrected binary.
    Regards,
    The App Store team
Is tehe anyone, who can help me?

  • How to open Viewer from other apps? - App 'URL Scheme' has disappeared from Viewer Builder!

    Hello
The 'URL Scheme' option in the Viewer Builder did let me to specify a url that made other apps open my viewer. But this option has disappeared from the newer version of Viewer Builder. So. How do I do now to let other apps open my viewer?

Is there a spacial reason that the URL scheme option was taken away from ordinary Multi-issue viewers? It was there in earlier version. I'll explain our situation:
Our client want to publish corporate information; annual reports etc, with DPS. Not really magazines or newspapers you subscribe to.
We are making another app where they publish news articles, videos etc. In that app, we want to have a link which opens the viewer with their publications.
To make this simple thing work, we have to create a 'subscription' to content which is not relly good for subscribing (it is free and announced with push anyway). We also have to tell the client to create Privacy Policys etc for this. A lot of hassle for something we do not really want.
Any chance that this option will come back in v19?

  • How the iTunes Subscription (Viewer Builder 1.5.1 with Professional Edition account) works?

We're looking for some information appropriate for our purpose, about iTunes subscription on DPS viewer.
    Please look at questions below.
Q1. What does the "subscribe" button mean at the library screen? If we set a subscription product with one month duration and then our customers purchase for this, can they download all the folios at the library for one month?
Q2. Why an addiotional "subscribe" button appears on below of the latest folio's "purchase/download" button? Is there any specific reason?
Q3. We set everything for an iTunes Subscription viewer with 1 month subscription product both on the Viewer Builder 1.5.1 & iTunes connect in-app purchase manager. And we're now testing the developer version's functionality with an iTunes connect test user account. But when we click on the "subscribe" button and follow all the process, the result is nothing different that each folio, independently set as in-app product, is still showing "purchase" button, not "download". Do we misunderstand the function of iTunes Subscription on DPS viewer?
    Thank you.

Did you try if it actually charges you again ? Maybe it's the same problem like the one users have with already purchased songs, apps, folio's, etc. Upon buying it once again (after removal from the device), the store prompts something like "You've already bought it" ("Yeah I know, me stupid", I always hear my inner voice say) "Would you like to download it again?" ("Of course, why else should I bother, you stupid?") So maybe it's just the wording that might throw you off. Just like I don't like the "Achive" button next to folio's, that actually means (and should say) "Remove" ("Remove from this device, but retain your license"), just like the red-dotted x does with apps. Hey, why not show a red-dotted x ?

  • Possible to make a Newsstand App without subscription using viewer builder 1.9?

As far as I can tell, the only way to enable newsstand through Viewer Builder 1.9 is if I select 'multi-issue with itunes subscription'. In itunes connect newsstand is enabled, but if I build the viewer with the multi-issue option selected and try to upload to apple, I get an error that newsstand is not enabled. (info.plist must include Newsstand=true) We did not plan on offering a subscription, only individual 'issues' for purchase. Is there a way around this? If I set up a free subscription, can I still charge for my individual folios?

Did you include the device's UDID in the mobile provision file?

  • Can't sign into Folio Builder. CS6 Recent DPS update. OSX 10.8.6

Can't sign into folio builder with Adobe ID within indesign 6. The sign in window won't even come up. I have updated the most previous DPS tools to no avail. I can access my folios and sign in to the folio builder through browser, but cannot access through program. I've tried a reinstall, deleting the service manager etc.
    Thanks.

I found a work around. Do a complete reinstall of Adobe suite. Update the DPS for CS6. When you first open Indesign CS6 [even before launch] you will be asked for Adobe ID, sign in here and when program opens it should automatically sign you into folio builder and connect with DPS. When they updated DPS I don't think they connected the back end of sign in within the program.
Very frustrating and thankfully I had no hard deadline.

    Hi.
I have been strugling with this issue all day. I am currently on Adobe Indesign CS6 (Not the cloud version) and I installed Adobe Folio Builder successfully. Everything works fine except that I cannot sign into folio builder. When I click on the sign in button nothing happens. I have looked into other posts from people with the same problem but none of the solutions that worked for them have worked for me. I tried clearing my preferences, reinstalling Desktop tools a few times and reinstalling adobe application manager but no luck. PLEASEEEEE Help!
