Signing up for Web Services HP ePrint

Subject above was long but it states my problem. I don't know what the wizard is asking for when it says to assign a proxy. When I tried to set up e-print it said I woud get an e-mail address that would print. This never happened. I would like to talk to a support person so I know how to proceed. Instructions are not clear for me.

If you would like to speak with tech support directly, you can find all the support information at eprintcenter.com. You should not need any proxy information if you are on a home network. If you are on a corporate network, you can get the proxy information form you IT team. Most of the time, if the printer says it needs a proxy address, all you need to do is set a static IP. Follow the steps in step six in this document

When it askes for DNS information, enter in Google's DNS. Preferred DNS = 8.8.8.8 Alt DNS = 8.8.4.4
If that does not help, if you could provide me with the following information it would help me out. First, who is your ISP( Internet Service Provider, i.e. Comcast, AT&T, Verizon, ect.)? Second, who is the maker of your router? Lastly, what is the model number and firmware version of your router?

Self signed certificate for web service security !!

i've created self-signed certificate using keytool for web serivce security. But i'm unable to implement from the client side. When i'm giving "dn=localhost" it's working fine. But when i'm giving other than that it's throwing me error as :
java.io.IOException: HTTPS hostname wrong: should be <192.168.2.36>
I don't know what's the problem. Could any tell me where i'm wrong. In the CN i've given my ip address. Please help me out.
Do i need to do something else?

But i follwed the same which are given. Do i need to set something in netbeans? i'm usign netbeans 5.5,tomcat 5.5 and jdk5. Still i'm getting the same error as "https hostname is wrong: it should be <192.168.2.278>", which my ip address. I've created my self signed certificate and given the path to it by mentioning in System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.trustStore","d:/keystore/auth.keystore"); and for password to. Do i need to do something else?
Please help me out in this reagard. I'm startup of this technology.

This isn't a straight FORM Post as in the http binding support in WSDL. It posts
a soap message.
It's apparent that Workshop supports form-post and form-get.
But I dont see how it is done with straight WebLogic webservices. Does WebLogic
server read the web-services.xml or the WSDL file? I dont see a way to put in
http-post binding in the former and in the latter it seems to be ignored.
Can someone clarify.

This might be a naive question, but according to the documentation, WL 7.0 does
not support http post/get bindings for web services. Thus, for me to access a
web service, I need to write a "middle tier" of some sort (I used the automatically
generated Java proxy code and JSP). All works fine, but it seems like it would
sure be nice to have HTML forms access web services without having to write a
middle tier.
.NET does this and it is extremely useful - is there a reason that BEA chose not

I just signed up for cellular service for my iPad but it will not connect. Verizon told me to turn off wifi, switch the unit off and back on. It's just 'searching'. What do I do?

I am getting error during the generation of ABAP proxy object for web service developed in .NET .
Error : Proxy generation terminated: WSDL error (<extension> not supported).
How to make this WSDL file compatible for ABAP proxy.
I have tried to edit WSDL file in XML Spy but did not get any option to replace/remove the tag <extention>.
If any one worked on this. Please help me its urgent.

Why does it need to be the best one? What would that even mean? Just buy something reputable, like an O'Reilly book, it's not going to be so horrifically poor that you can't learn from it

Building client proxies for web services with SOAP attachemtns

Hi all.
I'm currently building a series of web services that take SOAP attachments as
input, but I am unable to generate the java proxies for testing the services via
WebLogic Workshop 8.1. When I attempt to build the proxy, I get the following
error:
Warning: Failed to generate client proxy from WSDL definition for this service.
Suggestion: Please verify the <types> section of the WSDL.
Is there something I need to alter to get this to work, or does workshop not support
client proxies for web services with DataHandler parameters?

use the WebLogic Server generate test web page to test it, I got Exception. The
WebLogic Server can't constructe the input XML.
The correct XML should look like this:

Is there any one can tell me whether this kind of XML was permitted for Web Service
invoking or not?

On the test page, before the invoke of the operation, did it say
something like:

if so, the service itself may be working OK, the deficiency is that the
test page tries its best to determine sample values for the invoke,
however it does not know in this case.
Did you try with a client?
Your XML should be fine.

A<general> It does not appear that there are any separate logs for web services.
There is knex.log file that records the errors that occur during deployment of
your .jws files. There is also the standard server log that provides information
about server status - you can write to this programmatically if you wish. There
is also the access.log file which record all the HTTP requests so this might cover
some of your web service requests that are transmitted over HTTP.

Maybe the user has deniad Access to the Runbook, check in Runbook Designer.

Invalid Content Type Error for Web Service

Hi Experts,
We have a XI / PI Web Service, and have created an Adaptive Web Service Model for the same. For using this web service model, we have created a HTTP destination of type WSDL.
This configuration works great in our development and consolidation server.
While working with our production server, with all the settings same as consolidation server, the following error is generated for Web Service call. using the AWS model
java.io.IOException: Invalid content type while requesting http://<host>:<port>/webdynpro/resources/<application_package>/guicall.wsdl. Expected Content-type: text/xml, received Content-type: content/unknown, used user to connect: null
The HTTP destination address is the one specified in bold above.
Also, in later part of the stack trace we are bale to see this error:
com.sap.tc.webdynpro.model.webservice.exception.WSModelRuntimeException: Exception on creation of service metadata for WS metadata destination
Please guide us on this issue.

How did you configure the Webservice Destinations in Visual Admin for a webservice explosed by XI system.
I mean what was the URL specified, did you specify XI SYSTEM userid password ???
How was the webservice published to inspection.wsil in XI system ??

Custom Token For web services security

How can I implement a token based security for web services? I will return a
custom token which contains a session-id among others after a JAAS
authnetication. I want to pass this token for every web service invokation.
I want the serverside EJB methods to be authorized based the roles in token.
Any ideas or pointers on the possible solutions?

My envy 110 works but the web services and eprint services give "connection error". what to do?

My family use Macs and Apple Deskbook and a BT Homehub network. The HP troubleshooting instructions do not always match what is on computer screen. The menu paths that HP gives sometimes do not exist.
The Envy 110 printer was working fine but it often could not be found by the computers so I followed HP instructions to set a Static IP Address on the Printer. But now the Web Service and ePrint Service give a "connection error". Any suggestions? I am annoyed that HP don't give a phone number to help.

When you set that static IP on the printer, make sure of 2 things:
1. The IP address is outside the DHCP range of the router.
2. Use an external DNS, like Google DNS: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
