Silent install fails?

Hi Folks,
  Restarting an Adobe AIR Application is not working during Silent installation.
  If I install testapp.air(which has following code) on a machine that already has Adobe AIR installed on it and I click on
   the 'Restart' button in the testapp it works fine. (The app is closed and restarted and the window reopens)
  import mx.core.Application;
  import mx.core.WindowedApplication;
  import adobe.utils.ProductManager;
  public function reStart():void
    var app:WindowedApplication =
        WindowedApplication(Application.application);
    var mgr:ProductManager =
        new ProductManager("airappinstaller");
    mgr.launch("-launch " +
        app.nativeApplication.applicationID + " " +
        app.nativeApplication.publisherID);
    NativeApplication.nativeApplication.exit(0);
  Now, we have a need to bundle Adobe AIR with our app and install Adobe AIR in 'silent' mode. I followed the directions in the Adobe
  AIR bundling agreement and used the following command to install it:
  testappInstaller.exe -silent -eulaAccepted -location "C:/Program Files/" -desktopShortcut testapp.air
  If I do this, when I click on the 'Restart' button it does NOT restart the application. The issue seems to be related to installing
  Adobe AIR in silent mode.
  I would greatly appreciate any assistance Adobe is able to provide for this issue.

Update- BEA recognizes this as an issue in SP2. Maybe fixed in SP3? They sent me
a copy of installoptions.bea. This file must be placed into C:\bea prior to running
install - hard coded path.
I attached installoptions.bea

  • Adobe Acrobat XI Standard 11.0.10 silent install failing with error 1603

    Hello
    I just updated my AIPs for Adobe Acrobat Pro 11 Pro and Standard.  The Pro silent install is working fine.  But I cannot get the Standard install to run on Windows 7 or WIndows 8.   I have gone over every detail that I can think of or find on forums.
    I use the Adobe Customization Wizard XI and choose the basic stuff to create my transform.  I don't generally enter a serial number in the customization setup but I tried that and the installation did appear to complete successfully.  But when I tried to open Acrobat it did not work.  Processes like PDapp.exe where running in a loop but never stopped.   Without a serial I get the errors below and the install fails almost immediately.   I have recreated the API and transform a few times hoping it would help.
    Installing with the following line msiexec /i "%~dp0AcroStan.msi" TRANSFORMS=AcroStan.mst /qb /L*v c:\acrobat.log I get an error message that just says "error".
    Application Event logs
    Product: Adobe Acrobat XI Standard --  error.
    Windows Installer installed the product. Product Name: Adobe Acrobat XI Standard. Product Version: 11.0.10. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: Adobe Systems. Installation success or error status: 1603.
    When I run the AcroStan.msi by itself the installation completes successfully so it would appear the issue is in customization process or the .mst file.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you

    I'm assuming that verbose logging is accomplished by adding /L*v c:\acrobat.log ?  No, I do not have CustomAction AAMIU_Install.196A45B3_0387_4DF9_9420 in my log file.  The only items referencing 1603 are below.
    CustomAction CheckForPendingOperation returned actual error code 1603 but will be translated to success due to continue marking
    CustomAction SetLotusNotesInstalled returned actual error code 1603 but will be translated to success due to continue marking

  • Silent Install fails, normal install works. Application Server 10.1.2

    Hi All,
    I'm setting up an automated install of Application Server 10g 10.1.2.0.2 (Forms and Reports). When I install it silently using a silent install file, the install completes succuessfully but it isn't actually fully functional, and it isn't recognized by OEM Grid Control.
    When I install it normally, using the gui, it works fine and is recognized by the OEM Grid Crontrol.
    I'm running on Solaris 10 zones, and I used the recording feature for Silent installations to generate a silent file, but that didn't help either.
    Any advice? Tips? Information and your own personal experience would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks

    I realized that I was missing a few parameteres that I found at this site:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B32110_01/install.1013/b32411/basic_install.htm#BABCHEJI

  • Using -pingbackAllowed in command line silent install fails

    I've got a script to install an Air based app, the crucial part of which is:
    sudo /Applications/Utilities/Adobe\ AIR\ Application\ Installer.app/Contents/MacOS/Adobe\ AIR\ Application\ Installer -silent -eulaAccepted -location /Applications /private/tmp/Traffic14.1.0\ Update/TrafficApplication-Installer.air
    This works fine but I now want to change this so that it checks for AIR updates using -pingbackAllowed option, so when i add it to the above line like so:
    sudo /Applications/Utilities/Adobe\ AIR\ Application\ Installer.app/Contents/MacOS/Adobe\ AIR\ Application\ Installer -silent -eulaAccepted -pingbackAllowed -location /Applications /private/tmp/Traffic14.1.0\ Update/TrafficApplication-Installer.air
    it fails with a "too many arguments" error.
    So i remove the -eulaAccepted argument but still get the same error
    Am I doing something wrong?
    I'm running this OS X 10.9.5
    Thanks in advance

    Though following installation procedure may not be supported but it worked for me.
    create Inventory Location
    mkdir /var/SP/weloadm/home/oraInventory
    Create an file oraInst.loc with contents in the
    software directory:
    inventory_loc=/var/SP/weloadm/home/oraInventory
    inst_group=welo
    ./runInstaller -jreLoc $JAVA_HOME -silent -
    invPtrLoc /var/SP/weloadm/home/software/oraInst.loc
    “ORACLE_HOME=/opt/SP/weloadm/Middleware/Oracle_ECM1

  • AAMEE 3.1 CS6 silent install fail

    Hello, I've been having trouble with updates failing to install on existing installs of CS6 in my environment. The company I work for has an enterprise support agreement in place with Abode so I called up Adobe tech support for some help. Adobe tech support recommended I re-package CS6 with all available updates using AAMEE 3.1 which I did. However, now the Adobe extension manager EULA is not suppressed and I am either promoted for credentials when I attempt to update CS6 via AAM or the updates fail to apply just as they did before. I'm confused how there can be any updates since I created a Installation Package (Application + Updated) via AAMEE. Adobe tech support closed my support ticket because the solution was to manually manage updates or give out the corporate login info to the user base. I'm not happy with either solution. This seems like a step backwards from AAMEE 3.0.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi,
    you should be able to package product and their updates via AAMEE 3.1. if some package doesnt contain updates, you can also modify the package using AAMEE and add updates to it.
    please share PDApp.log and installer log file generate on client machine. For details of location please refer to page 112-113 in Enterprise deployment guide.
    please send across these logs to email id: [email protected]

    I have read portions of the Installation manual, and yes, I am aware of the issues with DHCP but that's how we do things here, so I'm not going to change that setting. From reading through the installation instructions, I see that the 11gR1 installation program asked for much more information, i.e., many more decisions than the 11gR2 installation program. I do not know if this is because of some choice up front that then excludes other options. Thanks.

  • Silently installing adt packaged app?

    Hi there,
    I'm trying to silently install my air app (via the Adobe AIR Installer) as part of a meta-installer which installs other required elements into the install folder (telling the app to install to the same location as the rest of the files which are downloaded as required by user choice)
    This works fine with a .air file, but as soon as I package the air file into a native .exe, the silent install fails. (It must be packaged as I must use NativeProcess in the app)
    Testing via cmd has shown I can call the Native.exe with a -silent argument, and the app will silently install to its default location, but I cannot tell it to install to a specific directory as it doesn't work with a -location argument.
    Trying to run it through the Adobe AIR Installer.exe gives this log:

Defunctioning the Antivirus (ESET) does nothing. Registry cleaning useless etc.

    Excellent, glad you were able to get this to work!  Had you tried right clicking the installer and doing a "run as administrator"?

  • Silent install of Photoshop Elements 10 via SCCM fails

    Hi all, hoping someone can help. I'm trying to push out deployment of Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 via SCCM. From Adobe's site I found details on adding an XML file to preconfigure various default settings and perform a silent install.  I can push out
    the package to my test PC's cache folder no problem, but the advertisement fails with "Failed (bad environment)" message ID 10003. The system cannot find the file specified."
    However, I can install the program manually, running the same code from the command line. So, on my test PC, if I go to c:\windows\system32\cache\(package) from the command line, I can type the following "start /wait Setup.exe /UL1033 /V"SERIALNUMBER=xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx"
    (as per Adobe's instructions) and Photoshop Elements 10 will silently install just fine.
    I've read elsewhere that SCCM can have issues with server paths and making use of the %~dp0 variable but I'm unsure if that applies here. In SCCM, in the program properties for PE10, the drive mode is set to "Runs with UNC name." I tried changing to 'requires
    drive letter" but it still failed. I'm guessing I'm dealing with some sort of environment issue but I'm stuck as to how to fix. Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance,
    Sir_Timbit

    I used "start /wait" as that was what was listed on Adobe's silent install instructions at http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/silent-install-instructions-photoshop-elements-1.html
    Again, it installs fine manually, *if* I point a command prompt to c:\windows\system32\ccm\cache\(cache folder)\ and run the start /wait setup.exe line below. But through SCCM, the advertisement report shows:
    Message ID:10003. Failed (bad environment)
    An error occurred while preparing to run the program for advertisement "ABC20074" ("ABC00041" - "Install Photoshop Elements 10"). The operating system reported error -2147024894: The system cannot find the file specified. Additional program properties: Command
    line: start /wait Setup.exe /UL1033 /V"SERIALNUMBER=xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx" Working directory: Drive letter (? = any): Possible cause: This message most commonly occurs when the program's command-line executable file could not be found, when a required
    drive letter connection to a distribution point could not be established, or when the program is configured to use the SMS Software Installation Account but the account is not specified, could not be found, or does not have the appropriate permissions. Solution:
    Check each of the items listed above.
    Execmgr.log on the client shows the following:

    Pls help to suggest a solution for this issue.

    You need to update it with Windows Update. You can also go to: Flash Player Issues | Windows 8
    and at the bottom grab the KB, however I've had much better luck using Windows update than I have with the KB alone.

  • Silent install of JRE 7 with some options FAILS

    Hi,
    I'm trying to configure a silent install of JRE 7 using NSIS.
    The command line that launches the JRE installation is this:
    jre-7u4-windows-i586.exe /s INSTALLDIR="C:\Program Files (x86)\MyApp\Java" STATIC=1 /L "C:\Program Files (x86)\MyApp\log\jre_7_inst.log"
    But when launched (both from NSIS script and from command line) a windows popup explaining the options for launching the MSI installer tells me that there's something wrong with the .exe that launches the MSI with these options.
    My system is a Windows 7 64bits and I'm trying to install a JRE 32bits, as this is what's needed for my app.
    Any ideas of what can be failing?
    It would be much appreciated!
    Thanks in advance,
    Carlos

  • Silent install- ASM Configuration Assistant fails

    I am trying to do a silent install with response file. At the end of the install it says I need to run configToolAllCommands which I do but the ASM Configuration assistant fails. I assume I need to pass in asmsnmp password but how do I do that? I see I can specify ResponseFile=<fn> when I run configToolAllCommands but how do I set the asm passwords in a response file? I tried just creating a response file that included asmsnmpPassword=mypassword and sysAsmPassword=mypassword but it didn't like that. Anyone know how to pass in the password? I think it will set up the asmsnmp user in this configuration assistant? because that is one of my problems after the install completes I don't have that user set up. I need all of this to be automated.
    thanks for any ideas.

    well I did not find any documentation on how to create a resposne file for the ConfigToolAllCommands- all I found using the -help option was that I could include a ResponseFile=<fn> parameter. so all I did was put 2 llines in the file sysAsmPassword=mypassword and asmsnmpPassword=pAssword. And that doesn't work...

  • How do I create a silent install for Adobe Robohelp 11.0? AAMEE fails

    I have tried to create a silent install for Adobe Roboehelp 11 using AAMEE v. 3.1 but after inserting "product installation folder", "package name" and "save to" and choosing "next" the picture just greys out.
    If if choose "next" again I get to the options page but it is empty.
    I tried using an older version of AAMEE and here I can create an unserialized build but it wont accept the my license code (which works fine if I install manually)
    Does anyone know how to solve this?
    I am using Windows 7 Enterprise Edition 64 bit.
    Best Regards,
    Christian Roejbaek

    Hi Christian,
    You have to use Creative cloud packager (CCP) to create the package for RoboHelp 11, AAMEE will not work for the latest version. CCP will be available in your LWS website(www.licensing.adobe.com) . Download CCP from LWS website and create a package for RH 11.
    Please refer to the below link for more information of CCP:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/packager/creating-packages.html
    Once you will reach "The Application and Updates screen " on CCP window then you have to click on "Add Offline Media" and select the "product installer folder" as RH 11 might not show in the list of products on that screen.
    After creating the package:
    Steps to follow to deploy silently on single machine:
    1. Open CMD in Administrator mode.
    2. Give the path till inside the build folder of the package. For Example if the build is saved on your Desktop the path in CMD should be as below:
    C:\Users\[username]\Desktop\Packagefolder\packagename\Build>
    3. Now type the following installation command: msiexec.exe /i packagename.msi /quiet
    4. Launch Task Manager.
    5.There will be three process of “msiexec.exe”
    a)   6.One will be under System
    b)   7.Other Two will be under [username].
    8.Installation will be completed once both the process of msiexec.exe under the [username] are finished.
    9.The installation process with take 5 to 10 minutes
    Regards,
    Mayank
