Silent Uninstall using SCCM

Has anyone been able to silently uninstall Dreamweaver CS4 using SCCM?

Hi,
in this situation I would advice following, that I'm using in my SCCM environment:
- remote of get some machine that has this exact version of AC
- go to following reg key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
- start the search for
Access Connection
- once you find this key collection, on the right site you will also see the "UninstallString" key. This key is the string, that you are looking for.
Of course, you can modify it, so that it will be fully unattend, like e.g.: addint /qn switch on the end or similar.
Let me know, if this fits you.
Cheers

    The most important is that you have to inventory the applications that are installed and based on that you have to decided which applications you want to remove. For those applications you can create uninstalls in ConfigMgr.

  • JRockit won't silent uninstall using -mode=silent

    i've tried to uninstall JRockit 1.6.0_24-R28 using the -mode=silent in a command window and it keeps prompting me with a window saying "Do you want to uninstall Oracle JRockit JDK R28.1.3 for Java SE 6 with JRMC 4.0.1 installed at D:\Oracle\Java\jrockit-jdk1.6.0_24-R28.1.3?" OK and Cancel are my options.
    Since I am trying to do this in a batch file, having a window appear is not going to work. I've also tried to echo Y | uninstall.exe-mode=silent but this also does not work.
    My only other option is to manual delete the files and registry entries.
    Any suggestions? Is there a list of what registry items I ned to delete?

  • Premiere Elements 11 - Silent installation for SCCM

    Hey guys, I am trying to package up Premiere Elements 11 for a Silent install using SCCM. I have followed the official deployment guide here:
    Deploy Premiere Elements 11 and earlier | Windows
    and the following Blog post:
    Mick's IT Blogs: Deploying Photoshop Elements 11
    but am encountering the same issue as someone noted in Mick's Deployment guide - I configure the "Setup.ini" file and the “application.xml.override” files and the installation does indeed run and complete.
    However, the created Desktop shortcut points to an executable file which does not exist and it seems that half of the program is missing/not installed despite there being no errors during the installation.
    Additionally, the Adobe guide linked above talks about copying the xml.override file into two folder locations:
    <Your setup location>\ElementsOrganizer\SupportFiles\payloads\EO[*]AMTLibSupport
    <Your setup location>\SupportFiles\payloads\PRE[*]AMTLibSupport-32/64
    but neither location exists on my source media (downloaded from Adobe.com).
    Can anyone point me in the right direction please?
    Regards,
    Scott.

    jaojr1962,
    /UL1033 parameter is for setting the uninstall language and not for setting the country. So, the country dialoue would come on launch.
    Adobe gives out these instructions to its OEM/enterprise users. If you're an OEM or an enterprise user of PSE/PRE, could you please contact Adobe through your respective point of contact? Adobe would be able to provide you a solution which you'd be able to use to avoid the country selection dialogue if you pre-configure it correctly.
    thanks.

  • Uninstalling programs using sccm 2007 sp3

    Hi there,
    We have imaged 300 desktops which have office 2007 preinstalled.  What we want to do is uninstall office using sccm 2007....my questions is that is this path possible??  Big question is can we uninstall a program that has not been deployed with
    SCCM???

    Hi,
    this is an example for MS Visio 2007 Professional but it is valid for all apps like Visio, Project, Office (2007 and 2010 Versions). The only difference is in the <Configuration Product="APPLICATION ID">
    line
    <Configuration Product="VisPro">
    <Display Level="none" CompletionNotice="no" SuppressModal="yes" AcceptEula="yes" />
    <Setting Id="SETUP_REBOOT" Value="Never" />
    </Configuration>
    This line in SilentUninstallConfig.xml file stops the client from restarting after an uninstall procedure.

  • Uninstalling firefox using sccm

    I'm trying to find a way to uninstall Firefox through SCCM. I've tried many different switches on the install file, but nothing seems to work. I googled it, but I haven't found much help any where. I also can't find any help on the Mozilla website for uninstalling either.

    I use
    Uninstall program: helper.exe -ms
    Uninstall start in: %programfiles%\Mozilla Firefox\uninstall
    It works.. sort of. It does actually uninstall but it initially comes back with "Removal failed" even though it really is gone. When I hit "retry" it changes to "Available". Not completely sure why this is, yet.
    Oh, and I should probably mention that I'm using SCCM 2012 RC2

    There's no magic button in ConfigMgr that will just do everything for you. Just like you can't walk up to the computer, log in and click a button that says "uninstall all the games and fun stuff" ConfigMgr also can't do that. You'd need to define
    what items you'd like to uninstall, find the uninstall strings for each one individually and deploy those to the machines which have the app installed.

  • Citrix Receiver For Widnows 4.1.200 (14.1.200.13) Silent Uninstall UAC Prompt

    We deploy the receiver using SCCM 2012 R2 CU3 and I'm trying to get the uninstall to work silently (citrixreceiver.exe /silent /uninstall /noreboot). The problem I'm seeing is that when it goes to uninstall the updater it throws a UAC prompt trying
    to run "C:\Program Files (x86)\Citrix\Receiver\PrivService.exe /noservice /elevated".
    What I can't understand is that the install/uninstall run under the SYSTEM account on SCCM so it should be running as elevated already.
    I've also tried running ReceiverCleanupUtility.exe /silent and get the same result.
    Anyone else ever seen anything like this? Turning UAC off is not an option.

    I found a way around this problem. I was able to turn off UAC from the command line and then turn it back on once I was done. So my batch file looked similar to this:
    %windir%\System32\reg.exe ADD HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v EnableLUA /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f%windir%\System32\reg.exe ADD HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v ConsentPromptBehaviorAdmin /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f citrixreceiver.exe /uninstall /silent /noreboot %windir%\System32\reg.exe ADD HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v EnableLUA /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f%windir%\System32\reg.exe ADD HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v ConsentPromptBehaviorAdmin /t REG_DWORD /d 5 /f

  • Internet Explorer 9 Silent Uninstall

    Hello,
    I created a custom IE9 install by using the Microsoft IEAK9. The source used for the custom install and destination OS is the same, Windows 7 Pro x86. My install works perfectly with the correct customizations. However, when I run the msiexec /x
    {GUID} uninstall key from the command line, I am prompted to locate the IE9 Msi installer. When I point it to the IEAK Output MSI file (which it already had found) it complains about not being a valid IE installer package. When I look at the details of the
    IE9-Setup-Full.msi I see a different product GUID than listed in the registry uninstall key, however if I attempt to use that key I get the "product is not installed" error. This is the command line used to install the package: MSIEXEC /I "\\serverpath\9.0\IEAK9OUTPUT\FLAT\Win32_WIN7\ENU\IE9-Setup-Full.msi"
    /qn /norestart
    I can run the uninstall from the control panel without any problems, but I like to have a silent uninstall script in case I need to perform a reinstall if I run into any issues during general deployment. Has anyone else run into this problem and know a way
    to fix it?
    Thank you

    Hi,
    You can try to use this methods to silent uninstall IE9:
    (1)
    Log in as Administrator
    (2)
    Close all IE browser windows
    (3)
    Open a "Command" windows by Clickin Start > Run > Cmd
    (4)
    Open "Notepad"
         Copy and paste the text below into Notepad. This will convert
    the html below into plain text:
    FORFILES /P %WINDIR%\servicing\Packages /M Microsoft-Windows-InternetExplorer-*9.*.mum /c "cmd /c echo Uninstalling package @fname && start /w pkgmgr /up:@fname /norestart"
    (5)
    Next copy the text from Notepad and paste into the Command window at the disk prompt and then press the enter key.
    (6)
    After the commands run and the disk prompt returns, paste the text again and rerun the commands.
    (7)
    Next reboot to finalize / update the configuration with IE8.
    Furthermore, I suggest to contact IE Forum for further help:

  • Silently Uninstalling Adobe Reader 9

    Hi all,
    I am looking to silently uninstall Adobe Reader 9 due to the same exact problems posted in the below link:
    http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.59b5c482
    *It's the C++ Visual Runtime Error due to the appdata folder redirection.
    Does anyone have a way to uninstall with either the Adobe Customization Wizard 9 (which I used to roll it out) or do I need to work with msiexec and it's parameters? I will be uninstalling from all Windows XP-based machines if that helps.
    Thanks,
    Joey

    Hi Masakonishimoto,
    You can try using tAcrobat Cleaner tool to remove all traces of previous version of reader:

    Hope this helps,

  • Lync 2013 Basic Client Silent Uninstall

    When attempting a silent uninstall of Lync2013, I am getting the message "Are you sure you want to remove Microsoft Lync Basic 2013 from your computer?
    We've noticed you have other Office products that will remain installed after you uninstall this product.  We recommend you Repair these products from the Programs and features item in your Control Panel once you're done uninstalling."
    If we select 'yes' to continue the uninstall, it completes successfully, but displays another prompt upon completion "Microsoft Lync Basic 2013 has been successfully uninstalled" and requires the user to click 'Close.'
     The environment we wish to uninstall Lync 2013 from has other Office 2010 products installed, and the do not seem to be affected by allowing this uninstallation to run.
    I am using a config.xml file <Display Level="none" CompletionNotice="no" SuppressModal="yes" NoCancel="yes" AcceptEula="yes" />
    This config.xml works great for a silent installation, but how can I disable the 2 prompts during an uninstallation?

    Hello
    TCUSYSADM,
    For silent removal of Lync Basic 2013 I'm using a batch file with the following commandline:
    "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\OFFICE15\Office Setup Controller\setup.exe" /uninstall LYNCENTRY /dll OSETUP.DLL /config c:\temp\config_uninstall_Lync_Basic.xml
    Where c:\temp\config_uninstall_Lync_Basic.xml looks like this:
    <Configuration Product="LYNCENTRY">
    <Display Level="None" AcceptEULA="TRUE" />
    <Setting Id="SETUP_REBOOT" Value="NEVER" />
    </Configuration>
    Start the batch file with the Run as Administartor option. Did not see any prompts.
    Before this I tried to start the xml file from an UNC path, but that didn't work. So I copied the xml file to a local folder.
