Similar to canvas.print()

Since java.ui.canvas no longer exists, is there an equivalent way to implement a thing like "canvas.print()".
Every comment will be helpful. Thanks

you have to do it yourself with java printing api.
So you can try to introspect your javafx class wich have to be printed for generic stuff

  • How to Create a Custom Canvas Print Order System

    Hi,
I own a canvas print website but if anyone wants to order a 'custom' canvas print from their own photo they have to email me and I add effects and email them back. I'd like to move away from this and setup an automated system in Flash where the user can upload their image, select their canvas size, apply some effects, and then order online.
If you Google 'photos on canvas' there are literally loads of websites that have this functionality. I've got the time and will to learn & build my own version, and after looking at quite a few implementations I think Flash will be the best format to build this in (and I like the idea of keeping it all within the Flash environment rather than mixing php & javascript). www  dot canvasdezign dot co dot uk/yourphotos.php is a good example - they use uploadify to upload the image and then its all in flash from there on.
I'd really appreciate it if any of you guys could point me in the right direction of where you think I should start with this project, and how you'd approach it? I'm relatively new to Flash but find with any new language the best way to learn is 'on the job'. I know that image handling can be difficult in any language so if there's a 'good' way of approaching this then I'd love to learn of it now rather than further down the line.
As a first step I'd like to get it working without the option of adding fancy effects to the images - a nice and simple image upload > select size > resize image to fit > save & upload image (actually, probably a more realistic first step will be having a single standard size rather than options).
Any pointers on how to approach this would be really appreciated. I'm using Flash Professional CS5.5 with ActionScript 3.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

  • Making a picture look like a canvas print

    Hi
I run an online canvas print company and sometimes for new images we have available I want to create a photoshopped example of how it would look as a canvas print, rather than getting it actually printed and photographing it. I can do this manually but it takes ages so I wondered if there is an easier way, perhaps an action or some kind of plugin that can do it a lot quicker?
This page shows some examples of what I have done in photoshop http://www.fotoviva.co.uk/photos-on-canvas.asp
The best one is the Gallery Wrapped Canvas at the bottom, which shows the image wrapping around the frame - it looks quite real. Ideally it would be useful to be able to create them with and without the wrap to show customers the options they can have.
I tried to create a Photoshop action but the trouble is not all of the images we sell are the same size ratio ie. some are rectangular, some square and some panoramic in shape.
So is there an easy way to create these in Photoshop? I guess it's like making a 2D image into a 3D box in effect.
    Thanks

The major 3D packages are overkill for this (in expense, and time to setup/render).
There is alot of software for this on the pc
This one actually has a mac version
    http://www.boxshot3d.com/
In your search I would look for one that lets you wrap 1 bitmap image against the front and 4 sides of an extruded rectangle, to save you the time of making separate images for side panels(and you likely  have slightly rounded edges on your canvas). I would try the boxshot3d as they appear to have a free trial.

  • How can I set the default print settings of my document as color.  I want the default print setting to be color when someone opens a document.  similar to duplex print preset is there a color print preset?

How can I set the default print settings of my document as color.  I want the default print setting to be color when someone opens a document.  similar to duplex print preset is there a color print preset?

    Hi,
Try saving your settings as a Preset by clicking the Preset drop down and then select Save Current Settings as a Preset.
Next try changing the settings by selecting the saved preset.
That allow saving the settings for a specific printer, I assume it may also allow selecting these settings for another printer.

  • Saving a screen shot similar to "Alt + print screen" for PC's...

As I am transitioning from a PC to a Mac, and would like to be able to save a screen shot, similar to the print screen button on PC keyboards, how do I do this now?
If I would like to save the screen shot to be able to edit it in a graphics software, such as Photoshop or save it as a JPEG to be able to insert it in a document, how do you do that now? I went to File -> Save As and my only options are Web Archive and Page Source.
    Please let me know.

Command - shift - 4 and drag a square around what you want to capture
Command - shift - 3 capture of whole screen
each will put a .png on the desktop which can open in Preview
Additionally, you can change the default format of the screenshot as outlined in this article. Alternatively, adding "ctrl" to either of the keyboard combinations sends the screenshot to your clipboard, allowing you to paste it into an editor of your choice.

You shouldn't need a plugin if you follow the steps from the video linked to below that should work in photoshop elements 12

Go to Select > Color Range to sample the unwanted color(s) in your image.
Go to Image > Adjustments > Replace Color.  Adjust sliders for Hue/Saturation/Lightness.

  • But I can't find something similar in the printer setup under Mac OS. Any idea?

Got a problem with connecting my daughter's Macbook to a HP printer in the LAN at home. For PC running on Win7, I can specify the printer's TCP/IP port under printer setup to establish the LAN connection. But I can't find something similar in the printer setup under Mac OS. Any ideas? Thanks

It looks like the developer's of that app, or Apple, have got the wrong search name for it in the store - you could try contacting the developer and pointing it out to them so that they can get it corrected. Currently it looks like you can only find the app either by using the link (as you've included in your post), or by searching for the developer's name (Page Foundry Inc) in the store.
For searching the store, when you search for something then the first result(s) should be those whose title matches what you searched for - so if you search for 'ebook reader' then as there is an app with that exact name it will be first in the results, other apps will then be listed after it.

  • Setting resolution, deciding file type, for very LARGE Canvas prints. 36MP camera.

Okay, so I noticed my lightroom was on 240 PPI resolution. I changed it to 300 because I read 300 was for standard prints. What would I need to set the export to in the resolution box for a very large Canvas?
Is it better to choose Tiff instead of Jpeg for prints of this quality, if not then what should I choose?
I am using a Sony A7R full frame 36.4MP and with some of the sharp Zeiss lens there is really no pixelation that noticeable when I zoom in 100 percent. Of course the A7R is being said to be one of the best Sensors on the market today. It's supposed to be like the Nikon D800E, but apparently it has some advantages.
In other words, I want to export in as high of quality as possible for the Canvas. File size is not an issue.

Changing the resolution setting does absolutely nothing to the digital image. This is a common misconception. The only thing that counts in the digital image is the pixel dimensions. Regardless of what the PPI setting is (240, 300, 600, whatever) the image still has the same number of pixels. To determine what you need for a print of any size it is necessary to multiply the inches by the desired pixels per inch. Suppose you want a 16 x 20" print at 300 pixels per inch. The math would be something like this:
    300x16 = 4800 pixels
    300x20 = 6000 pixels
So to print a 16 x 20" print you would need an image that is 4800 x 6000 pixels. And the PPI setting can be anything you want it to be because it has no effect on the image.

  • Running text for canvas printing

I am trying to create a 16x20 canvas to print for my daughters room.  What I am trying to do is type her name in a text field in InDesign and have it run without automatically breaking to the next line.
For example, this is what i want to accomplish:
    dison madision madision madi
    son madison madision madiso
    n madison madison madison m
    adison madison madison madi
When i try to do this, either InDesign breaks to the next line or it continues and the text disappears completely.
Any help with this would be much apprceciated.
This is the concept i am trying to create:
    Thank you,
    Jose

There may be other ways to do this, but what worked out involved adding a space between each letter of the name, and en-space between each name, created a character style that applied a large negative tracking, then a find/change to all spaces to apply that character style. Paragraph set to Left Justify in the screenshot. Full justify caused soem recomposition. Either way should work with some tweaking on your part.

  • Is anyone creating inkjet canvas prints at home with their Macbook Pro? What type of printer is compatible for this kind of job? Was using Hp inkjet 7300 (before switching over to mac)which uses 5 color cartridges.

I'm an artist and just purchased my first Apple product(Macbook Pro with retina 15")...prior to was using an Hp inkjet 7300 printer, which gave me wonderful prints on canvas, paper, fabric, etc. for many years. This particular printer uses 6 color cartridges including black. Now need to know if I can still use this printer or what would be a comparable companion printer for my Macbook Pro and deliver the same high quality of prints?

Your Mac should set it up automatically when you plug it into the computer.
    I hope I helped.

  • The best photo book and canvas printing companies

I'm researching where to buy photo books, canvases, even announcement cards for future clients, and want to hear fellow photographer's suggestions. I would appreciate any and all suggestions!
    Thanks in advance,
    Kara

    Karen:
Regarding the dpi prefs that Ricktoronto mentioned download and run Pref Setter. Bring up the iPhoto preference file in it and the do a search for dpi in the search field at the top. The three settings you want to change to 300 are BookTargetImageDPI, BookTargetImageMediumDPI and BookTargetImageSmallDPI. After changing the current values to 300 do a save and quit Pref Setter. That's all you need to do.
You might want to think about these numbers. If you want an 1 page picture in a book it will be about 8 x 10.6. At 300 dpi you should have 2400 x 3200 pixels. To get a 4x6 scanned image so it will be close to 300 dpi if enlarged to the 8x10.6 (Apple uses 4:3 ratio and that would make it 8 x 10.6 or so) you'd need to scan it at 3200/6 or about 530 dpi.
All of my books have been made with digital images from my camera that ranged from 1600 x 1200 to 2272 x 1704 and all of the photos came out very good. All of my books have been in the Story Book theme.

  • Printing on Canon ipf 6400 using 17 inch roll canvas

I am new at Lightroom and new at the printer. I am using 17 inch wide rolled canvas, printing an image 11 x 11 inches on a Canon ipf 6400, rather than wasting canvas at side of the 11 inch print, and using only 11 inches of the roll, it prints on the one edge of the canvas leaving the other 6 inches unused, but then it rolls down to a full length of 17 inches, thus wasting another  6 inches, full width of 17 inches. I need someone to tell me how to set Lightroom features so that printer only rolls out 11 inches of paper needed for the print.

I'm having same issues trying to print to custom sizes in Preview.
Possible work-around (not a solution, but might allow you to print and meet a deadline): I found I could set my Custom paper size as the Default in the Print & Scan Preference Pane.
Now, my print job still had issues, but it may work for your Aperture job. Of course, the PIA is that you have to remember to go back into Preferences and reset Default Paper Size...
Hope Apple is aware of - and working on - printing issues...

  • PO Print indicator

    Dear All,
Is there any option to check whether the PO printout been taken or not..
We need that indicator in an cuztomized report where user need to know whether the PO printout taken or not(before release).
The important thing here is in NAST Table system shows the status(VSTAT - Processing status)for the pos which is taken in ME9F which is after PO Release
But i need to know before release whether the PRintout is taken or not. Why because the user need to know whether the draft PO is taken prinout and kept in file for approval or not.
    Please suggest.

    Hi,
In standard SAP, system wont issue the PO output before the PO is completely released. If the users are taking the print through print preview, then you need to restrict the same through transaction variant or similar. Train the users to take the print always through ME9F.
Refer the similar thread: PO Printing Before Release
