Simple bitmapdata animation example

all this bitmapdata stuff blows my mind.
I wonder if anyone has a really simple example I can look at to get to grips with it.
I have 10 jellybeans that I want to gradually reduce in size. DOing this as a tween or actionscript results in poor performance on the iphone and iPad of course so I want to imporve this using the bitmapdata method,
any help would be appreciated

I am using Java 1.6 and Eclipse Galelio on Vista, Do I need to configure anything is there any story of setting path?

I want to publish a simple text animation transparent but keep getting a black background?

trouble is, it's not always that straight forward if the initial animation has not been set to a transparent background, as you cant simply change/update the poster.png
What I mean is, if the poster has been saved as non transparent once, the only wayto update it, is to physically open the file and make it transparent, even then it doesnt always work especially working with OAM's

CS4 - Trying to make a simple walking animation symbol

I've searched everywhere online, and can't find the help for this!
I've found some videos, but they did not seem to offer any sort of help for me.
I still cannot for the life of me figure out how to take 3 images, and make them into a simple walking animation and to convert that to one symbol.
Can anyone offer their help to me please so I can get my project going?
I'm using CS4, and all articles I can find are of the older versions of flash.

I managed to figure out how to do it, and yes it was as you stated. I was trying to use motion before to make my images animate together, and now I realized that that is not how to do it.

What is best format for simple text animation in iWeb?

I want to use a simple text animation "movie" in my site using iWeb. I don't want the controller visible -- and I want the animation to play automatically. I went to Inspector and checked for it to start automatically, but no effect. I still have to manually click on it. The mov file plays fine, but not automatically.
Second question: is mov the best file format for what I'm tryin to do? I admit to getting lost with all these formats/codecs.

Its not so much the movie format that matters as the way in which you decide to play it on your page.
Dragging a movie file onto the iWeb page requires that the visitor has the QuickTime plugin - which a lot of people don't. Flash is not the answer anymore due the fact that iOS devices don't support it unless you provide fallback to HTML5.

DPS and simple Edge animation - help

Hi-
I am having problems getting a very simple edge animation to work in my adobe digital publishing folio.
I have several kinds of other advanced web overlays using css3 transformations, other using jquery that work perfectly.
I thought I would save some time and try using edge for one simple animation, but nothing shows in the content overlay desktop preview or the ipad previewer. Or sometimes it all just spins and spins the desktop previewer never launches, and I have to force quit out of InDesign and restart my computer.
I have tried uploading the whole file folder as HTMLResources.zip as well as just linking to the index.html file.
My InDesign DPS is the most recent version CS 5.5 and Edge is the most recent preview.
I have also tried these tips - that were posed in a previous thread:
The first tip is to rename the InDesign layer after placing the animation.
In the Layers panel locate the sub-layer that represents the placed HTML. It may be named <rectangle>. You can locate it more easily if the animation is selected. When an object is selected the square to the right of the object will display in color.
Rename the sub-layer in such a way that removes the angle brackets. (Anything meaningful, just no brackets.) There’s some evidence that the angle brackets are causing issues when the content goes to DPS.
The next tip is around settings for making the animation play when you display the page. Here are the settings.
Auto-play = ON
Delay = 0.125
Can anyone see something that I may be doing wrong? Is Edge compatible with DPS?

It seems to me that the culprit lies in the generic name of the object <rectangle>, not necessarily in the Edge animation.
I had an issue with a simple button object that went away after renaming <rectangle> (the contents of the button was a simple rectangle filled with a RGB color) to something else.
The issue leads to a none working button in the Desktop Content Viewer to preview the folio or the article.

Core animation examples

Hello there !
I just bought Leopard and I have to make an application for my university project.
I will use Core Animation.
THE THING IS that I tried to compile the core animation examples given with xcode but they have compile errors ! 14 for Covertflow and 113 for Recipes...
That seems weird to me taht apple developpers released bugged examples... There errors are often "error : Cocoa/Cocoa.h: No such file or directory", or sometimes with AppKit.h, and others too...
And this problem is always with Quartz examples, the others work.
Does anyone have an idea ?

I can't tell you why you are getting the errors, but the examples are not "bugged" because they run fine for me on a new installation of Leopard. There must be something missing or wrong in your installation. Why don't you try to reinstall the developer tools and see if that fixes it.

How do I create a simple button animation?

I am very new to flash although I did do some movies in Adobe Live Motion when it was available. I am trying to recreate a nav bar that I did in Live Motion, in Flash CS4. I have done a little research but found no direct answers.
I have a simple graphic of a tin can. (I will end up using 8 different instances of this graphic for my nav bar.) There is a line of text above the tin can. I want to make this all a button that when mouse is over the can rotates once clockwise and the text changes color. When mouse is out it goes back to the normal up state. When clicked I want to go to a web page.
That is it. If I can learn how to do one I will be fine.
I would be ever so grateful for help with this.

All works but the mouseover. The tin can continuously rotates instead of just once. The text changes color ok but flickers (from up to over) - again and again until mouseout. And the link works when clicked on either text or tin can.
So everything you gave me was correct but I have done something wrong with the over animation.
My movie clip is as follows. The instance is named btn1.
layer 3 = actions layer
layer 2 = text
layer 1 = tin can
frames 1 - 5 labeled "up" with stop action in frame 1.
frames 6 - 10 labeled over with tin can (layer 1) being a 5 frame tween using 1 rotation from the property panel
Scene 1 has 3 layers.
layer 1 = background - locked
layer 2 = btn1 movie clip
layer 3 = actions - with your code in frame 1
Again, any help will be appreciated.

Simple EJB3/JAAS Example?

Hello. I'm trying to write a simple prototype using an EJB3 stateless session bean and JAAS, but running into some problems. Does anyone know of a complete example that explains how to create a security-enabled EJB and deploy it to WebLogic?
I have some stuff working, but seem to be stuck now. I am unsure how to assign identities to roles. So far, I wrote a custom LoginModule that will successfully login if the passed username/password is one of the hard-coded combinations. In the Subject, I am setting the PasswordCredential object, and putting a Principal whose name is the username. The EJB call fails with an error saying that the user doesn't have sufficient privileges because I have not associated the hard-coded username with any of the roles that I specify in the EJB using @RolesAllowed.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Best way to do a simple slide animation in GoLive 6?

I'm an illustrator and manage my own site (only) in GoLive 6. I only update rarely and this last time it has been 3 years. My index page has a single image, but I'd like to use 4 or 5 images cycling in that spot with the best "disolve" I can get.

I've tried building the animation as a swf file in Imageready (cs2) = 10 second download of 3.4mb file in DSL=nonstarter...then tried an animated gif in which is about the same size, with much worse image quality, and it loads immediately and plays while continuing to load....so could work, but not ideal. I see that GoLive has a slideshow action, but cannot figure out how to do it.... Will that be with no dissolve setting=harsh transition if I just have the 4 or 5 images as jpegs with no transition files, or is there a way to do that automatically?
I do have photoshop cs3, but haven't yet loaded it.

Help with AS to freeze bitmapdata animation

I am using BitmapData to create an animated flag waving with
Actionscript. This is for an ad, so the coded animation needs to
stop after 30 seconds. I would like to "capture" an image from the
animation and use this for the last frame instead of just removing
the dynamic clip from the stage. Does this make sense?
