Simple gant chart with parent_id

Hi,
I'm trying to recreate the following project gant chart on my system
http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=36648:4:896508273706037::NO
I don't understand why on my side the 'chart integration' task is not having the red arrow for drill down.
What I'm doing wrong?
Many thanks in advance,
Florin
this is my table:
CREATE TABLE "GANTT_TEST"
(     "TASK_ID" NUMBER,
     "TASK_NAME" VARCHAR2(55),
     "START_DATE" DATE,
     "END_DATE" DATE,
     "STATUS" NUMBER,
     "PARENT_ID" NUMBER,
     "PLANNED" DATE,
     "PLANNED_END" DATE
I have 3 lines. 2 of them have on the PARENT_ID the TASK_ID=1

This is really a Flex question not an Islands specific one.  I don't think the displayName properity is what you want to use here.  This is the name for the entire series as it will be displayed in the legend. I think what you want is a dataTip.  You register a callback for the dataTip rendering and then fill the custom dataTip quick info.
This is an example from a bar chart, but the theory is the same:
<mx:BarChart id="barChart" dataTipFunction="dtFunc" xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" type="clustered" width="100%" showDataTips="true" height="100%">
     <mx:verticalAxis>
          <mx:CategoryAxis categoryField="{SalesOrd}" dataProvider="{dataSource}" />
     </mx:verticalAxis>
     <mx:series>
          <mx:BarSeries id="bsGross" xField="{grossAmt}" displayName="Gross Amount" dataProvider="{dataSource}" fill="{otdFill}" showDataEffect="{slideIn}"  />
          <mx:BarSeries id="bsNet" xField="{netAmt}" displayName="Net Amount" dataProvider="{dataSource}" fill="{rtyFill}" showDataEffect="{zoomIn}"  />
     </mx:series>
</mx:BarChart>
private function dtFunc(hd:HitData):String {
              switch(BarSeries(hd.element).id){
                   case "bsGross":
                         return "Sales Order #: " +  hd.item.SO_ID + "\n" + FlashIsland.formatNumber(hd.item.TTL_GROSS_AMOUNT) + " " + hd.item.CURRENCY_CODE;
                         break;
                   case "bsNet":
                         return "Sales Order #: " +  hd.item.SO_ID + "\n " + FlashIsland.formatNumber(hd.item.TTL_NET_AMOUNT) + " " + hd.item.CURRENCY_CODE;
                         break;
              return "Amount";

  • WebI report on SAP Mobile BI for iOS that contains a chart with element linking issue

    Hi gurus. I have the following issue:
    I have element linking based filters on my chart # 1 to filter values on chart # 2.  It worked fine on Ipad. And it worked fine on BI Launch Pad.
    But after some time I check my webi report and it stopped working on IPAD.
    Filters are not shown on the graph.
    However it still works fine on BI LaunchPad
    Have you faced this issue before?
    Using: BI mobile 5.1.12
    Before, example:
    After some time, I opened sap mobile and it is not showing up the filter anymore
    Now: We upgraded to SAP Bi Mobile 6.0.8.12 but issue persists.
    Could you do the test?
    Steps to reproduce:
    Create a simple Webi report with a table.
    Copy that table and paste it to the report.
    Turn the original table into a column chart
    Add element linking from the chart to table. (When user filters on the chart it should change the table as well)
    Test that the element link works in BI LaunchPad.
    Save the report to the Mobile category and test on iPad.
    Open report on iPad
    Tap chart bars. Yellow filters, that are supposed to show up, are not displayed.

    Hi Erika,
    Is this report element linking defined as 'All Objects' or 'Single Object' in Webi.
    I ask this that report element linking on 'All Objects' is not supported yet. This support is expected to come in later releases.
    However, if this is single object then it should be working. Can you verify this on latest app store build and confirm. If still it does not work for you, then please raise a support ticket for the same.

  • SSRS 2008: how to show an empty chart with legend and x and y axis when no data available

    Hi,
    I am using SSRS 2008, I generated one chart in report designer with the data from Analysis Services (Cube).
    According to the dataset, there is no data returned when I run the query. so when I preview the chart, there is nothing but "no data available" showing on the chart.
    Here I want to know is there any possible to show an empty chart with legend and x and y axis?
    If it is possible, can you tell me how can I make it?
    Best Regards.
    Connie Zhu

    Hi,
    When there is no data, the chart displays the message "no data available". But using a little work around, you can display an empty chart.
    Please find the below steps given to achieve this
    1. Create a new dataset using TSQL to return 1 row of data having the category field and value field set to 0. Add the fields that are necessary for the category fields, series fields and datafields.
       A simple example would be like
       SELECT 'abc' as Category, 0 as Amount
    2. Add a new chart, set the category field to 'Category' and set the data field to Amount from above dataset created in step 1.
    3. In the new chart, right click the category axis and select axis properties, Click on the labels tab, check on
    'Hide axis labels' and then click ok
    4. Now set the Visibility property of both the charts depending on the rows returned from your main dataset
       a. click on your main chart and set its Hidden property to :
    =iif(CountRows("MainDataSet"),false,true)
       b. click on the new blank chart added and set its Hidden proprety to (the opposite) :
    =iif(CountRows("MainDataSet"),true,false)
       Note : Please change the dataset name in above expression "MainDataset" to the name of your chart's dataset
    5. Resize the new chart to the same size as your main chart, then position the new chart on the place as the main chart.
       (Note : You can set the position of new chart to be same by copying the location property from the main chart)
    6. Now run and observe the result. When there are no rows returned by your main dataset, the new chart (the blank chart) should be displayed.
    I've added a working sample of this kind of a report
    here.
    Hope this helps. Please feel free to discuss if you have any questions.
    Please click "Mark as Answer" if this resolves your problem or "Vote as Helpful" if you find it helpful.

    I need to make an assumption to answer your question:  I need to assume that you are getting your data with a query similar to:
    select DoW, Part, sum(qty) as Count
    from sales
    group by DoW, Part
    Change that to...
    select DoW, Part, sum(qty) as Count
    from sales
    group by DoW, Part
    UNION ALL
    select distinct "Target" as DoW, Part, 50 as Count
    from sales
    That will feed the target into the cross tab, which will create an additional column, Target, with the value 50 for all parts.  If the target is for the day, not part, then you would UNION
    select distinct DoW, "Target" as Part, 50 as Count
    from sales
    which would give you an additional row with the constant target value of 50.
    HTH,
    Carl
    P.S.,  There might be (probably is) better tables to use as the FROM table for the target SELECT.  I wanted to keep things simple...

  • Pie Chart with Legend

    Hey Experts,
    I have a small issue but cannot seem to find the solution. I have a pie chart with legends which I want to show side by side (horizontally). First pie chart and then legends. My requirement is that when the window is resized, the pie chart should also resize. I am able to show the chart and legends horizontally but when the legends list is long, the pie chart is always aligned in the center vertically. I tried setting all properties such as verticalAlign = "top", verticalCenter = "false", tried putting pie chart and legends in a separate VBox but nothing seems to work. Below is the code snippet.
    I believe others would have faced this problem. Can someone help?
    <mx:HBox width="100%" height="100%" verticalAlign="top" verticalCenter="false">
         <mx:VBox width="100%" verticalAlign="top" verticalCenter="false">
              <mx:PieChart id="pieChart" width="100%" height="100%" showDataTips="true" minWidth="200" minHeight="200" verticalCenter="false"/>
         </mx:VBox>
         <mx:VBox width="100%" verticalAlign="top" verticalCenter="false">
              <mx:Legend width="100%" height="100%" dataProvider="{pieChart}"/>
         </mx:VBox>
    </mx:HBox>

    Hi Dajji,
    Here is the code which resolves the problem...
    Note: In the code below I have removed the percentage width and height for PieChart.....that resolves the problem.....but the thing here is as you resize
    your browser window the piechart width and height will not change accordingly...? Do you need PieChart to change its dimensions as your browser window
    resizes...???
    However if you specify width="100%" and height="100%" for PieChart you never gonna acheive the PieChart to be vertically alined to top.....why because
    as you specified width="100%" and height="100%" for PieChart it occupies the total dimensions of the VBox but the actual visible portion dimensions are
    less... because within the VBox you also have the legends so Flex will assign the sizes proportionately....for PieChart and Legends..
    Hope you got my point...So you should remove the width="100%" and height="100%" for PieChart then you can acheive what you needed...

  • How to make a Gant Chart in OBIEE analysis

    Hi all,
    I have intergrate OBIEE 11g with my ERP system, module Project Management. Now, i want to make a Gant chart on BIEE to manage time of project.
    But i can't see this chart type on BIEE, plz tell me how to make it.
    Tks so much

  • Chart with parameters in SSRS 2012

    Hello,
      I want to do a chart (line chart particularly, but I will take an answer for any chart as they all probably work similarly) with one parameter passed (hospitalid) and two values returned (BedDays and MonthYear).  MonthYear is how the horizontal
    line is divided, by each month, and the BedDays should be the number of patient stays in beds in that month.  Doesn't matter if it's sum of bed days or bed days, because a sum is made in the stored procedure, and MonthYear is unique.
      I have spend a few days on this problem, working a lot on it, and I keep running into errors, trying various methods.  I don't know where all my errors could be coming from, it could be in the aspx, it could be in the report design, or it could
    be in the code behind, so I am hoping someone can give me a step by step solution to this problem which should be simple, but apparently is not because there is no worthwhile help that I can find on the internet.  It should work for SSRS 2012, I do not
    have a choice of using an earlier version for this project.  Please include everything I need to do in the report GUI, in the aspx file, and in the code behind, as any little error in any of these could keep this from working and make it very difficult
    for me to pinpoint what is going wrong.
      Please help!

    I'm using Visual Studio 2013.  According to what I read, there is no report preview in newer versions?
    I created a report and then added a line chart.
    I used my connection and under Data Set Name I put: AllevantReportDataSetB
    Under Choose the Dataset, I selected AllevantReportDataSetB as the data source.
    For "Name" I chose DataSetB
    The stored procedure works (that is all you need to know, because the inner detail shouldn't make a difference), and when a parameter @facilityid is passed to it, it returns a table with the first column named MonthYear which is a date of all of the months,
    years, and the first of each month from the beginning to end of the data - and the second column is BedDays, the number of total stays in a bed for all of the patients at the facility.
    In Category groups, I have MonthYear, and in Values I have BedDays (actually [Sum(BedDays)], but the sum shouldn't matter, because the MonthYears are unique so there is only one MonthYear, there is not more than one of the same month in the whole data set)
    My .aspx is the following:
    <rsweb:ReportViewer ID="ReportViewer1"
    runat="server"
    ProcessingMode="Remote"
    Font-Names="Verdana"
    Font-Size="8pt"
    InteractiveDeviceInfos="(Collection)"
    WaitMessageFont-Names="Verdana"
    WaitMessageFont-Size="14pt"
    Width="95%"
    Height="99%" ShowDocumentMapButton="False"
    ShowPromptAreaButton="False" Visible="true">
    <LocalReport ReportEmbeddedResource="MySolution.Report5.rdlc">
    <DataSources>
    <rsweb:ReportDataSource DataSourceId="Report1DataSource" Name="DataSetB" />
    </DataSources>
    </LocalReport>
    </rsweb:ReportViewer>
    And my VB code behind is the following:
    Protected Function GetReportDataTable() As DataTable
    Dim Conn As New SqlConnection(ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings("sql").ToString)
    Dim Command As New SqlCommand("BedDays", Conn)
    Dim BedDaysDataTable As New DataTable()
    BedDaysDataTable.Columns.Add("MonthYear", GetType(DateTime))
    BedDaysDataTable.Columns.Add("BedDays", GetType(Int32))
    Command.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure
    Command.Parameters.Add("@facID", SqlDbType.Int).Value = 20
    Command.Connection = Conn
    Conn.Open()
    Dim DataReader As SqlDataReader = Command.ExecuteReader()
    BedDaysDataTable.Load(DataReader)
    Conn.Close()
    Return BedDaysDataTable
    End Function
    Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load
    If Not IsPostBack Then
    FillMetricsDDL()
    FillFacilityDDL()
    Dim rds As ReportDataSource
    rds = New ReportDataSource("Report1DataSource", GetReportDataTable)
    Dim ReportParameters As New List(Of ReportParameter)
    ReportParameters.Add(New ReportParameter("@facID", 20))
    ReportViewer1.LocalReport.DataSources.Add(rds)
    ReportViewer1.LocalReport.ReportPath = "Report5.rdlc"
    ReportViewer1.LocalReport.Refresh()
    End If
    Common.Chosen(Me)
    End Sub
      I am getting the error where the report should be
    Unable to connect to the remote server, no connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.
    But I suppose once this error is resolved, there will be more, because I really do not quite know exactly how SSRS charts with parameters in SSRS 2012 are suppossed to work, in code behind, in aspx, and in the charting, and how it all ties together.  So
    some complete guidance to show ALL the places where I am going wrong here would be much appreciated, not just an attempt to solve the one error I have above, which may not be the sum total of all of my problems here.
    Unless, of course, it IS the only error which would be GREAT.

  • Charts with Multiple Data Series in One Color

    I am trying to create a pie chart to reflect the different areas of my budget in four categories. However, my budget is divided into several smaller categories across several columns and I can only get the cells in the first column to register even though the additional cells show up in the Inspector as part of the series.

    Jerry,
    Thanks for the info. I'll give that a read when I get home today. In a roundabout way I tried part of that. I created my chart with my data for Mammallia and the time periods. Then I selected the occurrences for Synapsids and dropped them in, but it added them to the first data set in the chart? I'm guessing I was doing something wrong, but I'm unsure of what. Numbers/Excel has never been a strong subject for me, but I'll try your advice and see what I come up with.
    Reading your post again, the last way seems the most simple and I feel a little foolish for not thinking of that myself. Oh well, that's how we learn right? Thanks for your help!! You saved me a lot of hassle.
    Best regards,
    Mitch

  • I want to make a simple line chart

    i want to make a simple line chart using the data in two nonadjacent columns.
    it seems that the easiest way to do this is to export the sheet to google docs and use THEIR charting, which is a two-click deal.
    is there an easy way to do this in numbers?
    my impression:
    numbers:
    very fancy, super pretty, easy to modify APPEARANCE, difficult to use actual charts. custom paint job on a junker
    googledocs:
    available everywhere, basic, more difficult with actual data flexibility, but you can use what you've got.
    the whole emphasis on numbers seems to be how pretty i can make displays, but not a lot of emphasis on making it easy to make things work.
    can anyone shed some light on how to make this simple instead of pretty?

    You can definitely use the technique I mentioned to order the columns to make it easy to chart:
    Here I created a table (the top one) to hold the original data and make a second table (the lower one) to pull data into two adjacent columns:
    The bottom table, as I said pulls data from the top data table:
    Then highlight the data in the table to chart, and selec the chart type from the menu (I suggest the bar chart which is the first item in the chart tool menu):
    I made up this data and mean it to be no reflection on your running ability

  • Simple Line Chart - Values over time

    A simple line chart displaying a set of values over time would seem to be a very easy report to design. I'll be darned if I can see how to design it. Can anyone shed some light?
    I have provided links to a report and a spreadsheet which is the report datasource. My actual report will use SQL Server as its datasource. I am providing ths excel based example for the sake of protability.You will need to set the datasource location after saving the files to your hard drive.
    I can get the lines to draw properly, what I cannot figure out is how to specify the datetime values for the x axis. The column I would like to use on the x-axis is called DerivedLoggingTime.
    I'd also like to get control of the logarithmic algorithm used to formulate the y-axis values. I am not always happy with the values that the log algorithm comes up with.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Another discovery while working on this report - our database will be SQL 2008 and  we are making use of the datetime2 datatype. CR appears to be treating this datatype as text. So when working with the SQL based datasource, I had to cast datetime2 columns as datetime in order for CR to see the columns as datetime instead of text. This is fine in this instance because the granularity of the datetime values for this particular report does not require datetime2, but that will not always be the case. CR will need to recognize the new datatype.

    Hi Joe,
    The Date Axis Line Chart of the Numeric Axis Type Chart, can be used to display data on a regular interval of days, Months and Years. The information displayed can unfortunately not be more granular that days.
    This type of chart is generally used when the data is recorded on irregular intervals in the database, and to make sense of the information stored it needs to be displayed at regular intervals.
    Since the data stored in your data source seems to be stored every 4 minutes, it will not be necessary to use this type of chart. I will suggest to use the regular line chart instead.
    To create a line chart using your date time field and value:
    1. Select "Chart" under the menu "Insert"
    2. Insert the chart on your report in the desired section.
        ( Group Header # 3 in your case. )
    3. In the "Chart Expert" window, under the tab "Type",
        change the chart type to a line chart by selecting "Line" in
        the "Chart Type" list.
    4. Under the tab "Data", add the database field that contains the Date Time information under the "On change of" list.
    (In your case, add the "DerivedLoggingTime" database field)
    5. To display the data for each minute, select the database fields you just added under the "On Change of" list, and
    click on the button "Order". In the "Chart Sort Order" window,
    select "For each minutes" in the "Section will be printed" drop down list, then click "OK"
    6. Add the field you want to display the value in the "Show Value List", then click "OK"
    Now it will display a line chart as desired, but since there is a lots of data point on your chart, the x axis date time labels will overlap each other. To avoid  this situation, I will suggest to skip labels.
    To format a chart to skip labels:
    1. In the "Preview" tab of the report, select one of the x axis label, and right click on it. In the contextual menu, select "Group (X) Axis Options..."
    2. In the "Group (X) Axis Settings" window, under the tab "Layout", check the option "Skip Group Labels" and set the value to 15 for example.
    Now, it will display the date time label at every 15 data point.
    As for your question on how get control of the logarithmic algorithm used to formulate the y-axis values, we unfortunately do not have much control over it other than:
    - Entering static values, or
    - Checking or Unchecking the option "Use Logarithmic scales"
    The above options are available on the y axis. To change those options:
    1. In the "Preview" tab of the report, select one of the y axis label, and right click on it. In the contextual menu, select "Group (Y) Axis Options..."
    2. In the "Group (Y) Axis Settings" window, under the tab "Scales", you will see the following options:
    - Minimum Values
    - Maximum Values
    - Use Logarithmic scales
    I will suggest to check the option "Use Logarithmic scales"
    Finally, as for the issue you discovered where SQL Server 2008 data type DateTime2 is converted to a string in Crystal Reports 2008, it is important to note that SQL Server 2008 hasn't been released yet, therefore it has not been tested in Crystal Reports 2008. Once SQL Server 2008 is released, I will suggest to test it again using the ODBC driver provided with this new version.
    At this point I am assuming that this is happening because it is a new data type and an unknown data type get converted to string.

    I hope someone can help i am trying to create a simple bar chart (well at least it is simple in excel) I have generated averages using formulas for a series of data and these formulas are in my GF1 i simply would like to create a chart of these few values in the report footer - that is it ..but i'm not sure what i should reference in "change of"? i am assuming i need an advance report ? in excel i would  simply refernce these values  and viola!
    any help would be greatly appreciated.

    It should be simple.
    Lets say you have X - Axis with values (AA, BB, CC etc). and Y-Axis bars with values (10, 15, 25)
    You will have to give onchange of the X-Axis. and in the bottom (Show Values) you will have to chose Y Axis (SUM/Avg/Max) what ever you desire.
    If you simply want to show the values without the summary operation, create a Formula field and insert it under Show Values. You will have to check the Don't summarize values.

  • Line Chart with Multiple Series

    HI
    I am trying to create a line chart with multiple series for trend analysis on CR XI but not having much luck, I thought it would be so simple to do!
    My data is provided summarized on the server and is returned as 12 rows:
    Month       Year1        Year2      Year3      Year4     Year5January      100           80          75           90          120February      85           25           40           25          80etc for the rest of the months
    My problem is that I can only get the chart to accept the values to display as a summary and not just as the data pulled back from the server.  I have read an article on the support site for Crystal 6.0  but it doesn't seem to translate well into XI.
    If necessary I could redesign the table to bring back un-summarized data but that is quite a big job.
    Any help greatly appreciated.

    In the chart expert, put Month in the 'On change of' box and put each year in the 'Show values' box. This puts the month on the x-axis and plots each year as a line.
    Is that what you want?
    I did this in CR 2008 using your data in an Excel sheet.

  • Chart with Navigation Target not working propertly

    Hi All,
    I have a question regarding charts with navigation targets.
    I have a simple report with these 3 columns: QUARTER | REGION | SALES
    And I want to click on sales, and see the sales detail by the region and the quarter on the line I clicked. This works fine when I have the Table View.
    But When I go into a Chart view, ( axis Y->sales, axis X->quarter, x-y->region ) and I click on any intersection, I cannot have the quarter filter applied.
    On the target report, I have the filter like: "quarter is prompted".
    Does anyone knows why this may happen? I do not have the latest version of OBIEE installed, I think I have 10.3.3.3, but I'm not sure.
    THANKS,
    Alejandro

    Hi, if you mean the place where you select "navigation target" and set the destination report, then yes.
    Thanks!

  • Pie Chart with XML

    Hi,
    I want to display a normal / simple pie chart. Data will come from SAP NetWeaver Gateway Service. My problem is I created the view via XML and up to nw  I can not find any example to define a pie chart via XML. UI5 demo Apps already checked.
    Many thanks
    Best regards.
    Dominik

    Hi,
    thanks for the quick reply. But I not able to display the date from Net Weaver Gateway.
    <content>
         <ma:Chart id="visualisationPie" height="100%" width="100%" type="Pie" rows="{/visualizePOSet}" showRangeSelector="false"
         showTableView="false" showTotalValue="false" title='Test'>
    <ma:rows>
      <ma:Row>
    <ma:cells>
      <ma:Column name="Type" value="{type}" />
      <ma:Column name="Count" value="{count}" />
      </ma:cells>
      </ma:Row>
      </ma:rows>
      <ma:columns>
    <ma:Column name="Type" value="{type}" />
      <ma:Column name="Count" value="{count}" />
      </ma:columns>
      <ma:category>
      <ma:Category column="Type" displayName="Type of PO" />
      </ma:category>
      <ma:values>
      <ma:Value expression="Count" displayName="Count" />
      </ma:values>
      </ma:Chart>
    </content>
    That is the result.
    Here you can see an example form REST Client in Google chrome. That is the result when I call the GET methode.
    Regarding to the topic with viz Chart. I changed the libary because  I was not able to add title and the the prercent values for piece of the chart.
    Best regards

  • Had a hard time setting up a bar chart with date value

    Just wanted to achieve this simple chart with a date value instead of text string or numbers, which is quite simple to achieve in Excel see screenshot.
    With flex 4, here's my code snippet, what do I missed? Please give me a hand, thanks  alot.
      [Bindable]
       private var scheduledata:ArrayList = new ArrayList([
        {name: "ward1", meeting: "1/1/2008", seminar: "8/12/2008"},
        {name: "ward2", meeting: "2/1/2009", seminar: "9/24/2009"},
        {name: "ward3", meeting:"3/1/2011",  seminar: "10/30/2011"}
      <mx:BarChart id="bar" height="100%"
          showDataTips="true" dataProvider="{scheduledata}">
       <mx:verticalAxis>
        <mx:CategoryAxis categoryField="name"/>
       </mx:verticalAxis>
       <mx:series>
        <mx:BarSeries yField="name" xField="meeting" displayName="meeting" />
        <mx:BarSeries yField="name" xField="seminar" displayName="seminar"/>
       </mx:series>
      </mx:BarChart>

    Thank you all for those who tried to help. I figured it out by picking it up from (http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flex/using/WS2db454920e96a9e51e63e3d11c0bf65a29-7ffb.html). Just need to add a DateTimeAxis to it! Though there's bug to it that the datetimeaxis format will only display mm/yy regardless you chose Days, Weeks or Months. Somehow I will need to tackle that.
    <mx:horizontalAxis>
    <mx:DateTimeAxis dataUnits="Days""/>
    </mx:horizontalAxis>
