Simple Tree Question

Hello,
I have a tree control which currently stays expanded all the time by using the following code:
on the updateComplete event of the tree (tree) I call this:
private function expandAllNodes(e:Event)
     if (tree != null){
         if   (tree.dataProvider.length > 0){
               tree.expandChildrenOf(tree.dataProvider[0]);
it works exactly the way I want it to and it keeps the tree open all the time. So far so good.
But I'd like to do this instead:
When an item is added to the tree (the dataProvider actually), expand all nodes (like it does now). But I'd also like to be able to collapse nodes if the list gets really long (which it might).
However whenever I collapse a node, the updateComplete fires and opens it back up. Is there another event I should use instead of the updateComplete that wouldn't cause the expand all to get called again ?

A simple solution could be to set a flag:
private var enableExpand:Boolean = true;
In your expand handler add:
if (tree != null && enableExpand){
         if   (tree.dataProvider.length > 0){
               tree.expandChildrenOf(tree.dataProvider[0]);
enableExpand = true;
then, in your addItemToTree function or wherever you want, you can set the enableExpand property to false.
It will then prevent the expand handler to execute one time.

    You display an image in the node by the way you described. So you have to provide with image details. You generally pass the icon details.
    All the icon details can be easily displayed in the following report program.
    SHOWICON. Execute the same in SE38 and you will get the internal format of the icon which will help you to get the desired icon in the node.

  • ALV Simple Tree: How to customize sum levels?

    Hi,
    I have the following issue:
    I use the ALV Simple Tree to display a hierarchy. In this hierarchy one element is the currency of the values I want to display. Therefore the currency might not be the top-level of the hierarchy and as a consequence the tree/table looks like this:
    Region/Curr. | Amount 1 | Currency
    EUROPE       | 2000     | ***
    - EUR       | 1000     | EUR
    - USD       | 1000     | USD
    -> Different currencies are added with no respect to currency rates or the likes. Only the currency field is filled with stars.
    Question: How can I prevent sums for a tree level?
    The hierarchy is flexible, so I require a dynamic solution (for example if there are two levels before the currency or none).
    If anyone got a link to the documentation for the Simple Tree (or something like that), I would also really appreciate it!

    Ned, it says 24 fps which means there is 24 frames per second so each 24 frames is 1 second.

    1 You can create your character as a movieclip and copy/paste that movieclip from one file to another. 2.   • Simple performance question

    Simple performance question. the simplest way possible, assume
    I have a int[][][][][] matrix, and a boolean add. The array is several dimensions long.
    When add is true, I must add a constant value to each element in the array.
    When add is false, I must subtract a constant value to each element in the array.
    Assume this is very hot code, i.e. it is called very often. How expensive is the condition checking? I present the two scenarios.

Without understanding how the compilers generates executable code, it seems that in the first case, n^d conditions are checked, whereas in the second, only 1. It is however, less elegant, but I am willing to do it for a significant improvement.

    I am facing a problem, I am preparing a simple tree in a custom container of using two table such as mchb and mska, from these table i am selecting fields wearks ,matrn ,veblen, quantity , lgort (storage location) and made a internal table, for using this fields I sorted three times with werks for plant than storage location for those plant which was sorted than  material comes for all sorted plant and storage location ,for all sorting I made  node for all  i was using CONCATENATE command using index take all values of sorting make local index for all sorting, now i want to make when i double-click on material i want all field come in my tablecontrol which is there and than I want a pop-up window comes for further processing.

    i dont think for single click you can get any event in simple list... you can make hotspot on by this way single click will trigger the at line-selection event.

  • A few simple Logic questions...please help.

    I have a few probably simple Logic questions, that are nonetheless frustrating me, wondering if someone could help me out.
    1. I run Logic 8, all of the sounds that came with logic seem to work except organ sounds. I can't trigger any organ sounds (MIDI) on Logic, they won't play. I have a Yamaha Motif as my midi controller.
    Any idea why?
    2. I've starting running into a situation where I will record a MIDI track, the notes are recorded but they won't playback. The only track effected is the one that was just recorded. All other midi tracks playback.
    I have to cut the track, usually go out of Logic and back in, re record for it to playback properly. Any idea why this may be happening?
    3. How important is it to update to Logic 9. Are there any disadvantages down the road if I don't upgrade. If I purchase the $200 upgrade, do I get a package of discs and material, or it just a web download.

    Dear Ladies and gentleman,
    i have a problem with updating/refreshing a simple tree (cl_gui_simple_tree).
    Situation:
    when i start my 'tree-dynpro' the first time, the tree is displayed correctly. But the tree can be extended by the user via clicking a button 'create new node' e.g.. Therefore a new dynpro will be opened where the user can fill in new data. after clicking the 'save'-button the new entry will correctly stored in my database. and my node-table is also correctly built with the new entry. but my tree doesn't show the new entry. i have to close my program and restart it to view the changes. how can i refresh the tree in realtime without restarting my whole program.

    The sample report<b> BCALV_DND_01</b> shows how to add nodes to the tree using <i>Drag&Drop</i>.
    In your scenario when the user pushes the CREATE button your application handles the user-command at PAI of the dynro including the adding of the new node to the tree.
    In this scenario PAI is followed by PBO of the dynpro where the flushing should occur automatically.
    However, if the push button is part of the toolbar then PAI is not passed. In this case you may try the following trick:
    (1) Add the following coding to the method handling the user-command:
    ... " add node to tree
      CALL METHOD cl_gui_cfw=>set_new_ok_code( 'REFRESH' ).
    " NOTE: this will trigger that PAI of the dynpro is passed
    (2) Add the following coding in the <b>PAI </b>module handling the user-commands of the dynpro (e.g. USER_COMMAND_0100):

    I want to display a simple tree model structure with root "Tableset" and subnodes like "MARA". If i click on Mara it has to display all the fields from that table.
    But it takes two clicks till the subtree opens? I suppose it needs something like a "fresh Tree".

    you have to call the method expand_root_nodes of the tree model:

                        level_count    = level_count.
    expand_subtree:
    If you set this parameter to 'X' , the system expands all subtrees of the root nodes
    level_count:
    Specifies the depth to which the root nodes should be expanded. Possible values:
    0
    : Only the root nodes themselves are expanded 1
    : The root nodes and their first level of child nodes are expanded n
          : The root nodes are expanded down to their nth level of child nodes.
    Note: If you set the expand_subtree parameter to 'X' , the value of level_count is ignored.

    The reason why it becomes zero when you press stop is that you selected the control to get the default value in the event structure if it's not connected. You can fix it by connecting it like I did in the first picture.
    To make it stop when you press the stop button you have to connect one stop button to the loop exit terminal. The reason for the sequence structure that I added is to make sure that the loop exits the first time you press the stop button, try removing it and you'll see what I mean.
    You have one additional problem. You rely on the x+1 output of the sub vi as an input for the next iteration. However, that is not reliable since if you can the subvi from somewhere else it might mess up the count. You're better of using a shift register and passing in the last value to the subvi in each iteration.

    a) the TermsOfUse of the iTS don't allow any processing of purchased files, these are "copy protected"..
    b) iM has a voice-over function..
    c) iM is a video-edit app.. easy to use... just learn to handle it...
    d) iM allows to "extract" audio (=muting the original audio, adding your own..)
    e) to learn iM, spend some time here: http://www.apple.com/ilife/tutorials/imovie/index.html
    f) use pencil and paper first! WRITE and scribble, what shall happen when in your movie/parody... make a script, draw a storyboard .. THEN launch iM.. in other words: think first, then edit.. iM is just a tool, it does not "create"... Picasso needed a papertowel and half a stencil to create art....
    g) to get comfortable with iM, start with your own, small, short (3min!) project... import some stills, edit them, add a funny voice-over, add sounds, add music... good? make a bigger one...
    h) .. in our Lecture II, we teach you how to import shows from TV, youtube, wherever..
